My world began in a tennis court.

His world began in a boardroom.

I learnt about serves and baselines

He learnt about deals and business

I wanted a racket for Christmas

He wanted a startup plan

I focused on the ground

He aimed for the sky

My name is Rachel Wardwell

And Dave is the love of my life

It was like a fairytale

But not all have happy endings

We were hit with reality

Our world's didn't meet, our dreams were too important

We thought it was the right thing.

And went our separate ways.

Until everything changed.

Fate is fickle, we are forced to meet again

In circumstances I cannot explain

Will old sparks ignite?

Or is a memory all that will remain of us.

Love comes with a price, but I didn’t realize it would cost me so much. They called us fools, idiots that abandoned a future together, to chase after an uncertain possibility. But what are dreams that don't require sacrifices. We were at our best, living out everything we worked for and then everything fell apart.
