《I'm An Idiot》7

This morning you woke up to many voices coming from downstairs and wondered what was going on. Stretching, you let out a yawn and got of bed, heading down to see what the commotion was all about.

You entered the living room and rubbed the sleep out of your eyes, mumbling about how hungry you were. Suddenly, soft pink hair entered your vision and you blinked in confusion when you came face-to-face with a bright grin and sparkling eyes.

"Jimin-oppa? What are you doing here?" You asked and only just realized that the whole gang was over at Jungkook's house.

Scattered around in the living room was Seokjin's and Jungkook's close knit of friends. Namjoon and Seokjin were having a quiet discussion about something while the two youngest were having an intense car race on the PS4. Hoseok was watching them with a fond smile on his head as Yoongi slept peacefully away in his lap.

You watched the scene with a small smile, glad that Jungkook had found people who you were certain would be in his life till the end of times. You secretly wished that you were one of those people.

"(Name)-ah, you haven't had breakfast yet right?" You focused back on Jimin whose smile made your heart fluttered slightly.

You opened your mouth to reply when your stomach answered in your place. Two pink spots appeared on your cheeks as you closed your mouth and gave an embarrassed smile, rubbing your neck.

"Looks like you got your answer."

Jimin let out a tinkling laugh which brightened your morning and grabbed you by the wrist. He brought you into the kitchen where he led you to the kitchen island. Taking a seat at one of the many chairs, you laid your head on your folded arms and watched puttered around the kitchen with a small smile.

As the older male prepared your breakfast, you noticed that he was actually quite an attractive male. The rounded cheeks and that eye smile along with his charming personality would make him very popular amongst the female population which you were pretty sure was true.

Generally speaking, the seven of them would be a hazard to girls if they were seen together as a group.

You imagined what it would be like if all of them were students at your university. You shuddered at the nightmare of hundreds of girls chasing after them for their attention and affection.

Thank goodness, you only had Jungkook to worry about back at your university.

"What's with that face? You look like you've seen something horrible." Jimin asked as he placed a plate of steaming pancakes in front of you.

"Huh?" You replied before realizing Jimin had asked you a question. "Oh, it was nothing. Anyway, thanks for breakfast. It looks amazing."

"Wait till you try it."

You drenched your pancakes in honey and cut up a piece before placing it into your mouth. The moment it left your fork, a moan left your lips. The sweetness of the honey combined with the buttery taste of the pancake was the right balance of flavour.

Swallowing, you faced Jimin with bright, round eyes. "This is one of the best pancakes I've ever eaten! You're such a good cook! If I wasn't dating Jungkook already, I'll have asked you out on a date right on the spot!"

"Thanks but no thanks." Jimin laughed. "I'll like to remain on Jungkookie's good side."

For the remaining of breakfast, both you and Jimin bonded over a plate of pancakes.

You and Jimin had just entered the living room when Taehyung paused the video game which Jungkook let out a whine of protest. The silver-haired male ignored his partner and got up from his seat on the floor, approaching the both of you.

He slung his arms around both your shoulders, showing off his boxy grin. "Now that these two lovely folks are here, let's all go out and have some fun!"

Everyone in the room glanced at one another before breaking out into smiles and agreed with the second youngest's idea.

Hence, you found yourself spending your fourth day in Busan with Jungkook and his friends.

All nine of you, including Eunha who decided to tag along as well, were walking around the streets of Busan. You were holding hands with Jungkook, swinging it up and down like a child as you pointed out the various shops lining the streets.

"Jungkook, look! It's a puppy!" You gushed and dragged him over to the pet shop where puppies were on displayed by a large window.

Bending down so you were on the same level as the puppies, you made funny faces at a white puppy who jumped up and down, wiggling its tail. Jungkook watched with a fond smile, his eyes a soft brown when you giggled at the puppy for tripping over its stubby legs.

Namjoon walked up to his younger friend, his eyes strayed to you, saying, "She's everything to you, isn't she?"

His attention remained on you as Jungkook replied affectionately, "I've never met someone like her – so bright and shining like the stars of the night sky."

"She's a keeper then." Namjoon patted Jungkook on the back before joining Yoongi and Hoseok who were busy browsing through music next door.

Your cheeks were flushed a light pink because you had heard what Jungkook said. You didn't mean to eavesdrop on their conversation but couldn't help overhearing it since you were only just a distance away.

Even though you knew the words that Jungkook spoke was just an act so that your fake relationship with him wouldn't be given away, you were still affected by it. You let out a sigh, wishing that it was all real.

In the past, you would have given anything to hear those words from your best friend. However now that you heard it from the guy himself, you didn't feel all tingly or happy on the inside like how you would have imagined because they were not spoken with genuine love.

'Just how am I in love with this idiot that I crave for the actual thing?'

Another sigh left your lips.

Jungkook must have noticed something was wrong because he walked up to you, his mouth set into a frown. "Everything's okay with you? You seem upset for some reasons."

You jumped, slightly startled by your best friend's appearance. Standing to your height, you faced Jungkook and forced a smile so as to not worry him. "Nope! Nothing's wrong with me!"

You didn't wait for a reply and ran off towards where Eunha and Seokjin were at a flower shop, looking at flowers that would suit their wedding theme.

For now, Jungkook brushed away the concerns and shoved any questions he had to the back of his mind and trailed after you.

"(Name)! Which flower do you think is better – white roses or lilies?" Eunha asked, holding up a picture of both flowers in each hand.

You glanced back and forth between the pictures, contemplating before deciding to go with the white roses. "White Roses. They'll go perfectly well on the piers since it's brown and the white will stand out beautifully."

Eunha thanked you before turning to her fiancé with a triumphant smirk. Seokjin just rolled his eyes but didn't argue otherwise. As both of them were discussing with the florist about ordering the white roses for their wedding, you turned around to face Jungkook.

Strutting up to him, you took his hand into yours, gently tracing your finger over the lines on his palm. The brown-haired male glanced down with a quirk of his brow, silently asking what you were doing.

You shook your head and intertwined his hand with yours, loving the way how his palm swallowed your smaller one. Looking up into those chocolate orbs, the corners of your lips lifted slightly.

"Guys! Hoseokie-hyung found a pizzeria for lunch!" Taehyung's sudden voice startled both you and Jungkook, jumping apart as though you were caught red-handed.

The silver-haired male gave you two a curious look but said nothing otherwise and called out to the engaged couple who was just wrapping things up with the florist. "Jin-hyung, Eunha-noona, are you okay with pizza for lunch?"

"Definitely! It's what I need right now. Who knew planning a wedding can be so tiring?" Eunha complained.

Seokjin ruffled his fiancée's hair gently, smiling. "We're just selecting flowers. How tiring can that be?"

As the bickering couple walked out of the flower shop and headed to where the rest of the group was waiting for them, Taehyung turned his attention onto you and Jungkook, grinning.

"I know you two are smitten with one another and can't tear your eyes away from each other for more than a second, but I bet you're hungry since it's almost lunchtime. So, let's go before Yoongi-hyung complains!"

With that, he turned on his heels and walked off, smirking to himself when he saw the blushes on the two youngest's faces.

Neither of you nor Jungkook could look in each other's eyes after what Taehyung had said, too embarrassed to do so. Despite that, your hands still found each other once more as both of you exited the shop and crossed the road to where the pizzeria was.

All eyes in the restaurant were on a table tucked away at the back of the shop. Customers who were enjoying their food had stopped to stare at a group of twenty-year-old plus people making so many noises that it drowned out everything else.

You slid down in your seat slightly so that only the top of your head could be seen over the table. You wished the ground would open up and swallowed you whole as everyone at the table was bickering over what pizzas to order.

"I say we should get the Hawaiian pizza!" Taehyung and Jungkook exclaimed in unison.

"But we ate that the other day already." Jimin whinnied, wanting to eat something different.

Seokjin who was a food lover insisted on ordering everything available on the menu while Hoseok disagreed immediately, looking a bit green in the face at the thought of eating so much food.

Yoongi was just sitting idly at one side on the way to dreamland as Namjoon tried to be the mediator between the three youngest only to be ignored. Eunha had disappeared into the bathroom and had not returned since then.

You suspected she might be hiding to avoid the second-hand embarrassment you were currently feeling being in the midst of these rowdy guys.

A headache was starting to form as the commotion grew louder. Irk marks appeared on your forehead as your right eye twitched. You had had enough and finally exploded, slamming your hands down on the table, shouting, "Will you guys shut the hell up?!"

All of them froze in mid-conversation and seven heads turned in your direction with wide eyes. You were glaring at each of them, (e/c) hues burning with fury. No words were spoken as the boys were too afraid to say anything whilst your glare intensified.

At that moment, Eunha chose to return to the table, completely oblivious to what was happening as she happily took her seat next to Seokjin and glimpsed through the menu. "So, have you guys decided on what to eat yet? I'm craving some pepperoni pizza right now."

The oldest male cleared his throat uncomfortably, breaking the tense silence. "I-I think that's a splendid idea. Don't you guys think so?"

The remaining six boys nodded their heads eagerly and tore their eyes away from you, seems quieter than before as they spoke in hush conversation. You blew your bangs out of your eyes and slouched in your seat with a grunt.

Jungkook who was seated on your left scooted closer to you and gently nudged you in the side with his elbow. "Are you still mad at us?"

"Hn." You gave a non-committal reply, still feeling slightly mad.

Your best friend frowned before his eyes lit up and a light bulb went off in his head. He knew just exactly how to make you smile again. For the remaining time, until the food arrived, you were in a sullen mood – sitting there with crossed arms across the chest and a grumpy frown on your face.

The aroma smells of the pizzas was what drew your attention to it as your mouth watered at the different flavours. Soon everyone dug in, their hands reaching for their favourite pizza.

You glanced around the table looking for your favourite and once your eyes landed on it, they lit up with pure happiness. You tore a slice for yourself and munched on it, the familiar flavours dancing on your lips.

There was only one person amongst the group that knew this type was your favourite because that's the only pizza you ever ordered whenever the both of you went out to eat pizza together. That person was none other than your best friend.

Swallowing the last bits of the slice, you licked clean your fingers before turning to Jungkook with a childlike smile. "Thanks for ordering my favourite pizza!"

"I know the way to your heart is food." Jungkook teased which caused you to roll your eyes but didn't disagree with him.

Reaching for another slice, you enjoyed the rest of lunchtime with your newly made friends, sharing stories about your life at university with Jungkook with them as they laughed in glee while a certain brown-haired male was sulking.

It was one of the best lunches you ever had in a long time.

Eyes darted left and right to make sure no one was following you before you ducked into the shop. A sigh of relief left your mouth when you noticed it was just you alone and made your way deeper into the shop.

It was a jewellery shop that sold all kinds of jewellery from bracelets to necklaces to rings of various shapes and sizes. You were at the ring section, looking for a particular ring that had caught your eyes earlier on when you walked past the shop with everyone else.

Your face lit up when you saw the ring sitting snuggly on a cushion tucked away in the corner. Picking it up gently, you brought it up to your eye level to have a better look at it. It was a black ring with the word "golden" engraved into it.

It was the perfect ring for Jungkook.

You turned around to make your way to the cashier when suddenly you came face to face with Hoseok and Yoongi, causing you to jump into the air.

"Ah!!"

A startled shout left your mouth as your heart nearly skipped a beat at their sudden appearance. You glanced between the two guys with bewildered eyes and asked, "Where did you guys come from? You scared the hell out of me!"

Hoseok's sunshine smile became apologetic and rubbed his neck sheepishly. "Sorry about that, we saw you entering the shop alone and decided to follow you, wondering what you are doing here."

You looked at Yoongi who gave you a lazy wave, his face showing his usual uninterested expression. You wondered if this guy ever showed any other emotions or was this just his usual expression no matter what he was feeling.

The younger male saw the black ring in your hand with curiosity and pointed to it. "What you got there, (Name)?"

You glanced down to where Hoseok was pointing at and furrowed your brows in slight confusion before realizing he was referring to the ring in your hand. "Oh, this? It's for Jungkook. He likes rings. Earlier on when we were walking, I saw this ring through the display window and immediately thought of Jungkook. Hence, why I'm here."

The orange-haired male nodded his head in understanding and decided to take a look around the shop while you made your payment. As you were digging into your bag to look for your wallet, you felt a pair of eyes staring into your back.

You took out your wallet and looked up at Yoongi, one brow quirked up in question. "Is everything okay, oppa?"

The black-haired male didn't reply straight away and continued to eye you intently making you feel slightly uncomfortable with his staring. Wanting to escape it, you turned around and handed the ring to the cashier who rang it up for you.

The cashier bagged the ring and handed it you. You passed him the money, thanking him before turning on your heels and exited the shop.

It wasn't until you were out of the shop did Yoongi spoke up. "Why do you like Jungkook?"

You paused in mid-step and turned to face Yoongi with wide eyes. You were taken aback by his question, stammering, "W-What do you mean?"

A shiver crawled down your spine at the way how the second oldest male was looking at you. Even though his face was blank and devoid of any emotions, you could feel the intensity of his eyes as they bored into you.

"You know what exactly I mean."

You swallowed as tension rose between both of you. Unable to tear your eyes away, you returned his stare with a nervous one of your own. You were unsure of how to reply to the guy's question, afraid that your answer might be the opposite of what he wanted to hear.

For a moment, you thought he had known that you were in a fake relationship with Jungkook. However, you shook the thought away as it appeared, thinking to yourself it was impossible since no one except you and Jungkook knew about it and you were certain your best friend wasn't that idiotic to tell someone about it lest he got into trouble.

Yoongi noticed you were taking quite a while to answer his question and narrowed his eyes in suspicion, wondering if you were like her before. He knew that Hoseok had heard him but chose not to say anything, instead, watching in silence.

After all, he had also been there when it happened.

Another minute or so passed before you finally spoke up. Your eyes steely as you returned Yoongi's stare and ignored the way how fast it was beating as you replied, "I don't know why you ask that question out of the blue, but I guess you've your reasons and I'm not gonna question them. To answer your question, I like Jungkook because he's my best friend and has been there for me more times than I can count. He may be an idiot at times, but his heart is bigger and speak volumes of who he really is. Before I know it, I've already fallen for him."

When you finished your speech, you were panting for breath. This was the first time you had spoken so openly about your feelings for Jungkook to someone else other than your girl best friend, Ji-Eun.

One might expect your words to be of false pretence, but in reality, it rang with truth because these were your real feelings and thoughts about how you felt towards your best friend.

But of course, Yoongi didn't need to know that.

The air crackled with tension as both you and Yoongi had a stare down, neither saying anything as you seized each other up. After what felt like an eternity, Yoongi was the first to break the stare, showing his cute gummy smile.

"I approve."

You blinked.

"Eh?!" You exclaimed in surprise, unsure of what had just happened.

Hoseok who had been staying out of this laughed as he approached the both of you, slinging an arm around his friend's shoulder. "You must be confused."

You nodded dumbly, waiting for an explanation.

The black-haired male chuckled at your lost expression before taking on a more serious tone. "I wanted to see if you're serious about your relationship with Jungkook and not just taking advantage of him which I'm happy to say you're the opposite."

"Er, thanks I guess?" Your thanks came out more of a question when you noticed what Yoongi had say about taking advantage of Jungkook along that line. "Wait, what do you mean by 'taking advantage of Jungkook'?"

Yoongi and Hoseok exchanged a surprise before glancing back at you. You looked between the two with a puzzled look.

Hoseok was the who spoke up. "Didn't Jungkook tell you?"
