《The Good Girl Boxer》Chapter 25

I woke up in a strange bed cuddled up in blankets. Sitting up, I looked around trying to remember where I was. Oh yeah, I'm at Jordans. Then the next thing I realized was that I could hear yelling coming from outside.

I jumped out of bed and ran to the window and peeked through it hoping I could see whatever it was. When I looked out, I could see the street light and the front of other houses, and when I looked down I saw two dark haired boys fighting in the front yard. I threw open the door and ran downstairs not bothering to keep quiet. Trying to find my way through the unknown house in the dark was hard, but eventually I got to the front door and opened it, running outside barefoot into the damp grass.

"Stop!" I yelled at the two boys who were now wrestling on the ground. When they didn't let up I ran and pulled on who I assumed was Jordan because in the dark, his pale skin stood out against the other persons.

They weren't hitting each other, but the one Jordan had pinned to the ground had a cut along his lower lip. "Was anything you said to Daytona real? Huh?" Jordan yelled the other one.

The one on the grass flipped Jordan over so now Jordan was pinned to the ground. "I don't have to answer that." I recognized the voice immediately.

"Logan?" But neither one of them heard me and they kept fighting each other. I reached my hand into the jumble and latched onto Logan's arm, trying to pull him off Jordan. "Logan. Stop!" He continued to not listen to me, and as he two continued to argue, Logan balled up his fists and started to beat on Jordan.

Flashes of that one party Logan held ran through my mind and how he beat up Jared until he was unconscious.

Thinking that I pulled on Logans arm harder, "Logan! Stop!" He flung me off and I stumbled, tripped over my own feet and then landed hard on a rock. It dug into my elbow and I let out a shriek of pain and pulled my elbow off the ground, pulling the rock out of my elbow. As soon as I did, a small stream of blood dripped out of it.

The sound of my cry snapped both the boys out of their battle and brought their attention to me.

Upon seeing my arm Logan stood up and took a step towards me, "Day, I'm sorry,"

"Stop. Number one, I'm fine. Number two," I looked down at my feet, "Don't call me Day anymore. Only certain people can call me that."

Logan was caught off guard by my words and he faltered in his step, but he quickly resumed and grabbed me by my arms and yanked me to my feet. "I can call you whatever the fuck I want to." The smell of alcohol rolled off his breath and I shrank back.

He was so much like my dad right now I stood on wobbly knees, waiting for him to hit me. But nothing came. He pulled me into a hug and then ran off.

I stood watching his retreating figure when Jordan wrapped an arm around me, "Let's get you back to bed." He led me into his house and brought me to the bathroom right outside his room.

"Run your elbow under cold water and then I'll put Neosporin and a bandaid on it." I nodded my head, still dazed from what had happened.

Never before had I ever seen Logan drunk, and I hoped I never did ever again. He was bipolar to the hundredth degree, his emotions cranked to the max and he switched between them so fast it was hard to keep up.

"There you go. All done. Do you want me to kiss your boo-boo." I shook my head no and left the bathroom and crawled into the black bed. It wasn't long until I fell back to sleep.

"Hey wakeup." Someone was gently shaking me and my eyelids fluttered open to see Jordan leaning over me with a grin, "Morning Sunshine."

I fought the urge to complain about it being too early, after all Jordan didn't have to let me sleep here so I mustered up the best smile I could at a time like this. "What time is it?" I asked, my voice still heavy with sleep.

"Noon." He gave me another grin and I silently thanked the Lord for giving Jordan the common sense to not wake me up too early. "Do you remember anything from last night?" His grin was gone now and his face was completely serious.

"Only that Logan is a total dick and caused me to get this." I raised my arm from under the covers to reveal the bandaid.

Jordan let out a deep sigh and played with the end of his hoodie string. "Do you want to know what happened?"

I shook my head no, "Just because he had a reason for doing something doesn't make him less of a dick."

"Thats reasonable. So what do you want to do today?" I scooted over so he could climb on next to me.

"I'm kind of in the partying mood since I was only at the dance yesterday all of fifteen minutes. We could throw it at my place." I threw off the covers and pulled my dress down before climbing over his foot rest and off the bed, "Want to come to the store with me? Well actually, you'd need to take me since I don't have a car and my phone is dead."

"Planned on it anyway." He led me out of his room and we got into his car driving to the nearest grocery store.

I counted off on my fingers all we were going to need. "So we'll need alcohol. Lots of it. Tons of cups and probably some juice or something for lightweights like me." Jordan grabbed a cart and nodded along with me as we strolled down the aisles grabbing things we'd need.

"Jack Daniels or Jim Beam?" He called from over his shoulder.

"Both. And grab Grey Goose while you're at it." I had just came back carrying four different bottles of juice.

"How are you planning on paying for all of this?" Jordan asked while placing the alcohol into the cart.

I let out an airy laugh, "I'm loaded. I've got roughly around three grand just in my savings."

"That explains so much more honestly." I flashed my fake ID (because I need one for clubs) and payed for our groceries.

When we got to my house Jordan and I carried the bags in and set them on the counter. "Whew. Thanks. We have lemonade dispensers under that cabinet if you want to start filling them with these." I brushed my hands on my jeans, "I've got to go upstairs and change. I'll be right back."

I headed up the stairs and when I opened my door I let out a scream, "Mason! What are you doing here?"

He was sitting on my bed and when he hears my voice he got up and gave me a bone crushing hug, "I thought you were gone. You didn't come home last night."

I returned is hug and patted his hair, "Yeah, I stayed at Jordans house last night. I left the dance early and couldn't bare having to sulk in this empty house by myself."

He let go and held me at arm's length, "Sulk? What happened?"

"Logan didn't tell you? He's with Makayla." My voice quivered at the end but I fixed my composure, "Anyways. I'm having a party tonight. Jordans downstairs so invite anyone you can!" I pushed him out of my room and ignored the confused face he wore.

"Wait–" I closed the door before he could say anymore.

The first thing I did in my room was put my phone on the charger and posted to Instagram about the party. Then I picked out a really cute outfit that gave me a confidence boost. It was a gold sequins skirt with a flowy white tank top and my black leather jacket. For shoes I threw on my black over the knee boots and called it good.

"How we doing on the drinks?" I yelled from over the banister.

"Good!" I ran down the stairs and crashed into Mason, knocking him backwards.

"Everyday Daytona." He laughed and picked me up off him.

"Sorry." I helped him up in return.

After several hours of messing around and playing board games, 7:30 finally rolled around. I hooked up my Bluetooth to the speakers that we had and set it to 'The Middle' by Zedd, letting the playlist it was on shuffle. As another minute passed, people started rolling through the doors.

Mason had made it a public invite party and I posted about it on Instagram, so everyone knew about it.

I dimmed the lights and cheers erupted within the crowded house and people started to dance.

My house wasn't as suitable for hosting parties as Logan's was, but it would have to do.

I made my way through the crowd when someone caught me wrist, whipping me around. "Daytona right? This party is rad." The hand that was gripping mine belonged to a football player at our school. His name was Jaxon and we had a few classes last year, but we never really talked.

"Uhh yeah. You're Jaxon right?" He nodded my head and pulled me into him.

"Wanna dance?" I nodded my head and we started dancing together. He spun me around so his chest was pressed against my back. I started to grind my ass up against him. "How have I never noticed you before?" He whispered into my ear.

I didn't answer him and just kept dancing, trying to push the thought of Logan out of my head.

"Hey I'm going to grab a drink! Want anything?" I yelled to him over the music.

"Whatever is cool!" I nodded my head and elbowed my way through the sea of people to get through the kitchen.

I grabbed two red cups and filled them up with whatever the first jug was, which looked like some kind of something. I shrugged my shoulders and filled the cups up half way. Making my way to the living room I stopped in my tracks. The heat of someone's gaze made the back of my neck tingle and I shuddered.

I scanned the crowd to figure out who was behind the strong gaze, but I didn't see anyone so I continued to make my way over to Jaxon, "Here you go. I have no clue what it actually is." I chugged the contents of the cup and wiped my mouth with the back of my hand.

"Damn girl, you finished that fast." He laughed and set a hand down on my waist and smiled down at me.

He wasn't bad looking, Jaxon, he had sandy blond hair that curled up under his ear and brown eyes that could make anyother girl melt. He stood probably around 6'0 and had perfectly straight, white, teeth. Had I not been neck deep in feelings for Logan, I would probably take this opportunity to get to know Jaxon better.

"Thanks." I laughed a little and we continued to dance. Nothing to dirty yet, but after a few more songs and several more drinks, you could hardly call that we were doing dancing.

"Follow me." I happily obliged as he took my hand leading me up the stairs.

Even with all the alcohol in my system I could still see where this was leading and I wanted to stop, but my emotions were over riding my mind and telling me this would be a perfect way to get back at Logan. So I stepped infront of Jaxon, taking the lead and steering him in the direction of my room.

I turned the knob and the moment the door was closed, he had me pushed up against the door. The rough edges of nicked wood pressed into my back and Jaxon's chest was pressed against mine, pinning me in place.

He took his hand and gently caressed my arm from shoulder to wrist, then not even giving me a warning his lips smashed against mine with such force I gasped. He wasted no time slipping his tongue in and it took me a minute to respond, but I kissed him right back.

When we finally broke away for air he looked at me with a smirk, "Hot and a good kisser. Where have you been all my life?"

Again I ignored his comment and slid my hands up his neck, tangling my fingers in his hair and bringing his lips back down to mine.

His hand which was once holding my cheek, slipped down my body and untucked my shirt, his cool knuckles breezing across my skin causing goosebumps to raise up. Touching my bare skin, his hands slid up from my hips, to my waist, to the bottom of my bra, where they reached to the back and unhooked it.

Suddenly the urge to get back at Logan wasn't as strong anymore. I went to stop him when a knock at the door got him too first. "Daytona? Are you in there? Why is the door locked?" The voice was deep and I didn't even have to think twice about who it belonged to.

I snaked my hand to the lock and unlocked it. Logan pushed it open and faltered in his steps when he saw Jaxon holding my bra in his hand.

"What?" I snapped, giving him a cold glare, trying to keep my heart from beating out of my chest at the sight of him.

Not immediately, but soon his features shifted from confusion, to shock, then anger. His green eyes, which were already dark because of the lights, darkened even more. His face turned up in a scowl and he kept his eyes trained directly on Jaxon behind me.

"Get the fuck out of her room." Logan growled from behind clenched teeth.

I turned to Jaxon, "No. Don't listen to him."

Logan only barely cast me a glance before his eyes settled on the bra in Jaxon's hand. I saw the muscle in his jaw work and he spoke in a dangerous voice, "Get the hell out before in throw you out that window behind you."

Jaxon raised his hands in surrender, not dropping the bra which made Logan even more mad, "Man, Daytona brought me into her room okay? So I'm not going to leave because she said not to."

"So you're really going to listen to her?"

"Yeah man. I mean unless you're her boyfriend, because you are kind of scary looking. But if you're not, Daytona is hella hot and I ain't about to leave her if she doesn't want me to." He raised his eyebrow as a challenge.

Logan took a couple steps into my room, furious at the situation before his eyes.

"He's not my boyfriend so he can't tell me what to do. Now get out of my room Logan." I stood my position infront of him and Jaxon, not backing down under his stare.

He cast me one more glance and for a brief second his eyes flashed with regret but just as quick as it appeared, it was gone. Along with him.

I shut the door and let out a sigh. "I'm sorry Jaxon. I don't know what his problem is." I shook my head and he placed a hand on my shoulder.

"No biggie. Hey if you want I'm actually going to party jump and head to some other party. Want to tag along?"

"I'm good. I should probably man the party here. Thanks for the invite though." I gave him a small smile and he returned it with one of his own.

"See you around Daytona." He winked before exiting my room.

Just when I thought I was getting a break, Logan waltzed back into my room, locking the door behind him.

"What do you want?" I let out a sigh and crashed onto my bed.

"What were you doing with him?" His voice was even and flat but it still held an undertone of anger and jealousy? No, it couldn't have been. Why would he be jealous of me being with Jaxon when he Makayla.

"What do you think?" I shot him a death glare.

"Personally? I think you weren't thinking about what you were doing." I rolled my eyes at his parenting behavior.

"Why does it matter if I know what I'm doing or not? You're with Makayla now, so leave." He turned his head and I saw his jaw working again. "Plus if you really cared about what I was doing then you would tell me to not do what I'm about to do." I had no clue what I was actually doing. Words were coming out of my mouth like vomit and I couldn't stop them.

Slowly he turned his head to look at me, uncrossing his arms, "What are you about to do?"

I walked towards him and stood barely a papers width away. "This." I reached around him, closing the distance between us and unlocking the door and sashaying out and down the stairs.
