《The Good Girl Boxer》Chapter 13

Warning:

The next week went by uneventful.

More and more people started to believe that I'm not the good girl I used to be.

Logan's and my friendship continued to deepen with each passing day, and I had no problems with Makayla or Caroline–

Until today.

The cafeteria was buzzing with life. Logan, Charlotte, Jake, and I all sat at a table in the middle of the cafeteria.

"How was your test Daytona?" Charlotte sat down across from me.

"Same as usual. Easy." I shoveled another spoonful of applesauce into my mouth.

She turned to Logan, "What about you?"

He squirmed around in his seat next to me, "I mean it wasn't hard, but it wasn't easy."

I had known Logan for two weeks now, and the only time I had ever seen him be a 'Bad Boy' was when he was beating on Jared at the party last weekend.

But knowing him for two weeks also meant our bet was halfway over, and so far it looked like I was going to win.

"You know I could always tutor you if you needed it, right?" I nudged him with my elbow a little and his face broke out in a smile.

"Really?! Thank you so much!" His mood switched real quick as he cast his eyes downward. "I'm actually kind of failing that class right now."

"It's all good. We'll get that grade up to an A in no time." I gave him a reassuring smile and it seemed to lift his mood a little. "By the way, how's that club idea going?"

I shoveled more applesauce into my mouth as he reached into his bag and pulled out the paper.

My name was still scrawled across the top, but it had many more signatures on it. "How may in total?"

"Three hundred and seven." I nodded in approval as he tucked the paper under his lunch tray. "I was going to show this paper to Mr. Klark after lunch, wanna tag along?"

I nodded again and we all went back to out conversation about whether Star-Lord or Captain America was better.

"They're both equally ranked in my opinion. One is an alien and one fights aliens." I took a bite out of my peanut butter sandwich when I heard heels click up behind me.

I sucked in a deep breath, waiting for whatever the bitch squad wanted to say this time.

I set my sandwich down and started to turn around in my set when Makayla 'tripped' over some poor dudes chair, consequently throwing her tray of Chicken Parmesan all over me.

"Oops. My bad. Let me help you with that." Makayla opened her bottle of apple juice and dumped it over the top of my head.

The cafeteria which was once buzzing with life, now sat in dead silence, watching this show go down.

"You know Daytona, we warned you to stay away from Logan–" on que both girls gave sultry smiles to Logan and waved their fingers in his direction.

"But since you have failed to do that, we decided to make your life a living hell." Caroline finished Makayla's sentence, shooting me a not-so-innocent smile.

Charlotte's chair squeaked as she pushed it backwards. "Listen here you two fake blonde, lyposuction, breast enlargement, soon to be part of Planned Parenthood, worthless sons of bitches–"

"Thanks Char, but I've got this one." She sat back down, still sending death glares towards Caroline and Makayla.

I calmly stood up out of my chair.

All eyes were on me. Previously this would have made me sit back in my chair, but now, it only made me more confident.

"Okay you two. It's one thing to try and dictate who I hang out with, but it's a whole nother to do this," I gestured to my outfit and hair which was now covered in marinara.

"Now if you'll excuse me." I went to push through them but they (surprisingly) held me back.

"Where do you think you're going? Agree to stay away from Logan, or suffer the consequences."

I raised my eyebrows in their direction. "Suffer the consequences? What is this? An action movie? Let me go through or you will be the ones suffering from the consequences."

"Oh yeah? What are you going to do? Cry to your dad?" I saw Logan shift in his seat at Makayla's words.

Caroline picked up where the other one left off, "Or maybe M; maybe she's going to call her brother. Oh wait he's–"

I took two daunting steps forward. I was close enough to see the faint bristle marks in their otherwise flawless makeup.

"You leave him out of this, or I swear to God, I'll make you regret waking up this morning."

Fear flashed through Caroline's eyes for a brief moment, but Makayla kept up her perfect composure.

"Why should we? Maybe it's because you're jealous he was spending so much time with me before he–"

I couldn't control myself anymore.

I drew my left hand across my body and back handed her straight in the face.

I don't know how it was possible, but the room seemed to become even more quiet, it was as if the world paused to witness what was about to go down.

"You bitch." Makayla was holding her face as she spat out her words, literally.

"I told you to leave my brother out of this." I had never fought a girl before, and I was surprised when Caroline marched right up to me and slapped me.

Did it hurt? No. Was I humiliated? You bet.

"Two against one? That is so unfair. Oh well." Caroline tried to swing at me, but I stepped out of the way, catching her arm in mid-swing.

I twisted it around until it was pinned against her back. Makayla ran towards me, and while I wasn't looking she managed to wrap her arms around my waist, hitting my ribs.

I sucked in a breath of air and Logan stood up from his chair. "Daytona–"

"I'm fine!" I cut him off and yanked Makayla's hair back. She released her hold on me and I yanked her once more to the ground. "There's a new Queen of this school. Now go away."

I let Caroline's arm go and they both went running out of the cafeteria.

I didn't watch them long enough to see where they went, but I didn't care because I was starting to smell like an Italian restaurant.

For some reason the room was still silent and I turned and looked at everyone. "Shows over! You can get back to lunch!"

The play button had been pressed in the place as everyone started to eat and chat amongst themselves again.

"Logan, do you mind taking me home?" I tried to pick out some of the noodles stuck in my hair.

He had still been standing in the same spot as earlier. "Yea let's go." He gave me his leather jacket and I wrapped it around myself.

We were silent all the way to the car and even halfway to my house.

I knew he was wanting to ask about it but didn't want to upset me so I addressed the matter first. "You want to know why I didn't tell you about my brother."

He turned his head slightly, looking at me through the corner of his eye. "Yeah."

"It will be a conversation for another day, I'm sorry for not telling you about him."

His eyes lingered on me for a second too long and I looked away.

A smile found it's way onto my lips at his analogy.

If only he knew how accurate that was.

~~~~~
I had already taken my shower and now I was in my room trying to decide which outfit I wanted to wear more.
Lunch was already way over and I was pretty sure fifth was almost, if not already, over too, but I couldn't choose whether I wanted to wear leggings with a red tank top, or a black crop top with 'Don't Care Never Did', jean shorts and a flannel around my waist.
I went with the second option.
I know, what about dress code?
Exactly why I choose that shirt, Don't care, never did.
I heard footsteps running upstairs. "Daytona! Check this out!" Logan burst through the door right after I had changed. "Oh like the outfit."
I rolled my eyes at him. "What did you want to show me?"
"Oh yeah! Check this out!" He showed me his phone and a video was playing. "I guess someone recorded the fight. It's all over social media."
The video was on YouTube. It started with Makayla throwing her food on me and it went all the way up until I yelled at everyone.
The name of the video was: DAYTONA THE GG FIGHTS BACK???
"What the hell? Who uploaded this?" I ran my fingers through my hair and pulled on the ends.
"I can look." Logan clicked on the profile and up popped a picture of Makayla. "Well, at least we know who posted it."
I clenched my teeth and let out a low growl, "I am going to rip her head off." I pushed past Logan but he caught my shoulder.
"Think this through Day. Fighting her will get you no where. Just let it go."
I let out a deep breath, "You're right. Fighting her will get me no where except for in trouble."
He let go of my shoulder and we headed out the door.
When we arrived back at school Logan kept his car running for a bit in the parking lot. "Listen Day- I know I said fighting will get you nowhere, but I can't let her get away with ruining your outfit. You looked so cute in it." He reached over and pinched my cheeks.
I swatted his hand away. "So what? I'm supposed to sit back and watch as you chew her out?"
"No I never said I was going to chew her out. I've come up with a plan." He finally turned off the car. "I'll text her to meet me in the old abandoned gym. When she gets there, be ready with these,"
He reached over into his glove compartment and pulled out a bag of balloons. "Why do you have balloons in you car? And what are we going to do with these?"
"Why I have them is not of importance. But what we are going to do is fill them with paint and throw them at her."
I nodded my head slowly, "Okay but where are we going to get the paint?"
"Mrs. Douglas obviously."
"The art teacher? How are we going to get that from her?" My face contorted in confusion.
"I have my ways." Was all he said before he got out of the car.
"Well don't leave me hanging!" I shouted after him before I unbuckled myself and shot out of his car.
I was running after him, trying to keep up with his long legs, when he abruptly stopped and turned around, causing me to crash into his chest.
"We need to stop running into each other like this." He gently pulled me off of him and laughed.
"You were literally five feet in front of me and you stopped." I rolled my eyes at him but I was also grinning none the less.
"I know." He gave me a cheeky smile and started to walk again.
"Wait! Did you stop just so I could run into you!" He shrugged his shoulders.
I sighed and followed him.
We pushed our way into the old gym and found Jake with a few of his friends.
"Hey want to help us with something?" Logan walked up to the group with me by his side.
"Does it have to do with Makayla?" Jake pulled a pack of cigarettes out of his pocket. "Want one?"
We nodded our heads and he lit two for us. "So what are we doing?" One of the kids in his group asked.
"This." Logan held up the bag of balloons, "Now all we need is paint."
~~~~~

An hour later and we were all set. Logan had just texted Makayla to meet him in the gym.

"Do you really think this will work?" I asked him, looking down at the water gun in my hands.

"It has too." I looked back down at the water gun in my hands. First of all, I had no idea where we got this from, but one of the kids in Jake's group gave it to me.

The adrenaline started to pump through my veins when I heard the click, click, click, of her heels as she walked down the hallway.

"God can she be any louder." The kid who gave me the water gun spoke aloud from his hiding spot in the dark gym.

"Shut up!" We all whisper yelled in unison.

The doors groaned as someone from the outside pushed them open.

Logan stepped out of his spot next to me. "Hey Makayla. Thanks for meeting me here."

He continued making his way over to Makayla and by this point I couldn't see him anymore.

"No problem, so are you finally ditching that GG?" I couldn't see either of them, but I could imagine Makayla was rubbing her hands up and down his chest.

"I never wanted her. She's just always been hanging out with me–"

"Then why not push her away?" Her annoying voice cut him off and I rolled my eyes.

"I don't have the heart to do that to her. After all, with her whole brother situation and all..." He trailed off and my heart stopped.

He didn't tell me what he was going to say and I sure as hell didn't give him permission to talk about my brother.

I clutched the gun to my chest a little bit tighter and listened to the rest of their conversation, "It's a shame what happened to him. He was a good fuck."

I clenched my jaw.

"You know Makayla I would be careful what you say and how you act because people might think you're a guy with how much of a dick you are."

I heard her gasp and that was our cue.

"Ready men!" We all jumped out of our various hiding places in the gym. "Aim! Fire!"

We shot out water guns and threw the balloons at her.

"Logan! What the hell!" She stood there in her Gucci jeans, getting everything soaked in red, blue, and purple paint.

"Karma is a bitch Makayla." I walked up to her and stood by Logan's side. Everyone stopped firing so I could get close.

I leaned in and whispered: " And I'm not going anywhere anytime soon."

I uncapped the secret weapon: A Yeti filled with bright orange hair coloring, and poured it all over her head.

"Oops. My bad. My hand slipped." Everyone in the gym (like 8 people) busted out laughing at Makayla who was completely covered in paint.

"This! This isn't over!" She stormed off and for a second, I thought I heard her crying.

"Do you have the video?" I turned to Jake who had been sitting up in the bleachers the whole time.

"Yup. Want to watch it?" As he jumped down we all gathered around his phone and he played it for us.

It started with Makayla walking into the gym.

I was right when I guessed that she had been running her hands up and down Logan.

"Ugh I'm going to have to wash this shirt. It has skank all over it." We all laughed and finished watching the video.

"Thanks for doing this Logan." I swung my arm around his shoulders.

"Anything for you." He kissed my forehead, wrapping his arm around me and pulling me into his side. "Let's ditch this joint."

And like that, I realized my ever growing feelings for Logan Wylde.

What a chapter. Am I right?

Let's hear it for Daytona putting Makayla in her place!

Oh by the way, this is what her outfit looked like:

I thought I should add a picture of it.

Anyways hope you liked it and hope you stick around!

Love you all!😘❤
