《The Good Girl Boxer》Chapter 11

I woke up and Logan was leaning over me, "Are you okay?" His eyes were wide with concern.

"Yea I'm fine. How long was I out?" I tried to sit up, but it hurt my ribs to much so I continued to lay back down for now.

"Only a few seconds. Are you sure you're okay?" I nodded my head and Logan helped me up.

"Thanks. Now. Your knuckles look horrible where's your bathroom?" He pointed to a door in his room.

I grabbed his hand and led him to the bathroom, relying on him to stay steady more than I care to admit.

"Give me your hands." I took his hands and turned on the sink letting his knuckles run under the water.

"You know Day, I can do this myself." I shook my head at him and continued to wash his hands.

When all the blood was off of them, I searched through the drawers for bandages, "They're in the middle drawer on the right." Logan pointed to the drawer as he sat on the sink.

I opened it up and grabbed the bandages, "Let me see your right hand." He passed me his hand and I started to wrap them.

When I was done with him right hand I took his left one and did the same.

We walked out of the bathroom and back into his bedroom, "Thanks for the help Day." I nodded and gave him a small smile.

"Hey," Logan turned back to face me. "Are you sure you're okay? You seem out of it a little." I nodded my head and plopped down on his bed.

That was a bad decision on my part. The minute I did pain shot through my ribs and I clutched my side, another mistake, and gasped for air.

I know I hadn't broken anything, or I wouldn't have been able to move as much as I have been. But a fracture? That's possible.

"I think I may have fractured my ribs Logan." His eyes widened a little and he seemed to go into a panic.

"Um do I call the ambulance? No. The doctors? No they're closed. What about-"

"Logan calm down. I'm fine. Just can you get me an ice pack and some Advil. They can't do anything for a fracture anyways." He nodded his head and left the room.

I sighed and laid down trying to avoid a sudden shock of pain.

Finally I was able to lay down, but at that moment the door opened and the three stooges walked in.

"Here's an ice pack and Advil." Logan thrust the stuff I asked for in my direction. His soft and caring demeanor had changed. His once benevolent voice was gone and now his tone just sounded apathetic.

Confused by his behavior I took the stuff from him and muttered a thank you.

"What happened Day? How the hell did you facture your ribs?" Tyler gestured to me and I shrugged. Well, I tried to.

"Eh you know, the ol' this and that and falling down the stairs." I added a country draw on my words to try and lighten the mood.

It didn't seem to work very well so I changed the topic instead, "Where you able to get everyone to leave?"

Jake and Tyler nodded but only Jake continued, "The only people that stayed behind were Matt and Jay. They feel really bad."

"Yea well I feel bad too. Maybe not the way they feel it but I still do feel bad." I yawned and looked at my phone, "You guys do know it's 1:30 in the morning and we have school today right?"

They all groaned, except Tyler, in response. "Let's just skip tomorrow." Logan offered the idea up.

"Yea I'm down." We came upon a mutual agreement to skip school tomorrow.

"Well guess I'll be heading home. Day do you need a ride?" Jake asked as he was getting ready to head out the door.

I opened my mouth to speak but Logan beat me to it, "No I want to make sure that her ribs are okay. Then I'll take her home." I sent him a confused look and then turned back to Jake.

"I'll be fine thanks though. Logan will give me a ride." I sent Jake a smile and he returned it then him and Tyler left.

I tried to sit up by myself but it only caused more pain, so Logan helped me sit up.

"I hate feeling this useless. It's like I can't do anything on my own." I sighed and Logan took his hands off my back.

"I don't want you going home tonight." He took a seat on the edge of the bed. His voice was back to the way it was earlier.

"When you handed me the stuff, why were you so abrupt? You were nice and then in like .2 seconds you weren't." He ran his hand through his hair and tugged on it.

"I hate it when others see me being soft. It gives them an advantage over me." I nodded my head. "Anyways I don't want you going home tonight because what if your father is still up? Your ribs might already be fractured and if he hits you again, it could break then depending on the severity."

I sighed and tilted my head back until it was on the head board.

We sat in silence for a long time. Long enough I guess for Logan to think I was asleep.

I felt a weight lifting off the bed and I heard his footsteps move across the floor.

A few seconds of nothing and then his lips touched my forehead.

Fireworks erupted inside of me and heat resided where his touch was.

I fought to back the blush that was slowly creeping up my cheeks. I heard the door open and close with a soft click.

Opening my eyes the room was dark. I slid down into a comfortable position trying to avoid as much pain as I could.

I pulled the covers up to my chin. I fell asleep thinking about what had just happened.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning I woke up on my own time. No alarm was set so wen I opened my eyes I was thoroughly surprised to see the sun shining brightly through my window.
Except it wasn't my window.
My heart fluttered and the memories of last night came back in a rush.
I reached over and grabbed my phone that was laying next to my pillow. Turning it on I had a text from my mom and my dad.
Your Dad and I are leaving for two weeks on a business trip. We will be in France for the full time. Do you want a souvenir?
I texted her back letting her know to surprise me.
Then I checked the other text.
I swallowed the lump in my throat and swung my legs over the edge of the bed. My side wasn't hurting as much as yesterday. It kind of toned down into a dull throb.
The smell of bacon and pancaked hit my nose and a grin broke out across my face.
I jumped out of bed and was surprised when I realized I was still in my clothes from last night. What is it with me and sleeping in my clothes?
I opened the door and was face to face with Logan, a wicked grin displayed on his face.
"Can I help you?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.
"No. But I can help you." He pushed past me and into his room. I followed him to his closet and he started searching through it.
"What are you doing Logan?" I asked as I peeked around his broad shoulders.
"Finding you clothes. We're going out today and you look like a hot mess. Well you are hot, but you're shirt is wrinkled and your skirt is way to short." His words made my heart skip and beat and I self consciously pulled my skirt down.
"How am I supposed to wear any of your clothes? They're probably like eighty times too big for me." I smoothed out my shirt too.
"True they probably are, but I have older clothes you can wear." He reached into the back of his closet, "Ah! Found them!"
He pulled out a pair of gray sweat pants and a black hoodie. "You know where my bathroom is. Towels are under the sink. Take a shower and when you're ready breakfast will be downstairs. Oh by the way Jake and Tyler are going to tag along today."
I nodded my head at him and walked into his bathroom.
Now that I wasn't in an agonizing pain, I got to see how truly nice his bathroom was. He had an open shower that was stone. The countertops near the sink were marble and the cabinets and drawers a black matte color.
It was all so modern and didn't look like anything Logan would own.
I opened the cabinets under the sink and he had white towels. I grabbed one and it was the softest thing ever.
I set the clothes and the towel on the counter and turned on the shower.
Taking off my clothes I took a glance at myself in the mirror. A blueish purple bruise spread around my ribs. I sighed and headed into the shower.
I let the water run over me and take my worries down the drain. The only shampoo and conditioner he had was a guy scent so I only used a little bit of it, but enough to wash my hair.
When I was done I turned off the water and dried my hair and my body.
I looked at the clothes Logan gave me and decided not to wait any longer. At the same time my stomach growled. So I quickly threw them on.
Walking out of the bathroom I almost missed the hat on the bed.
I turned around and picked up the hat. It was a black snapback with the word 'MINE' in white. I rolled my eyes but put it on anyways.
I double checked myself in the mirror before heading downstairs.
Tanner sat the table with his back to me, "Logan walked outside on a phone call. He told me to tell you your plate is right here."
I hurried up my steps and walked to the other side of the table, in front of Tanner. I slid back my chair and offered up a smile.
His cold eyes met mine, and even though his eyes never changed, he gave a small smile back.
I looked down at my plate and I saw it had two waffles, a few slices of bacon, and slices of an apple.
I dug into the waffles first.
A low laugh was heard from the other end of the table and I shot a glare at Tanner, "Hey I love my waffles okay?"
He continued to laugh, "Alright alright. I won't get in the way of you and your waffles." His eyes had softened a bit but still had an edge to them.
I rolled my eyes at him and continued to shove waffles into my mouth.
The back door opened and Logan walked in looking a little irritated. "What's up little bro? What's got you agitated?"
When I looked up to make sure that Logan was okay, Tanner reached across and stole a piece of my cut up waffle off my plate. "Hey!" I yelled at him as I threw an apple slice.
Tanner caught it in his mouth and sent me a wink. "Well if you two are done flirting, that was Jake. He meet up with us later but Tyler is on his way here."
"We weren't flirting Logan, and what's up with the older brothers having a name with a T?" Both the Wylde brothers shrugged their shoulders at my question.
I stuffed the last piece of waffle into my mouth and moved on to the bacon.
Just as I was getting done with my breakfast, there was a knock on the door.
"I've got it." I stood up out of my chair and headed to the door. I checked the peephole first to make sure it was who I thought it was before I opened the door.
"Hey Tyler." I greeted the brunette as he walked inside.
"What's up Daytona? How are the ribs?" He went in for a hug but moved over to the side that I wasn't injured on.
"They still hurt, but I can function." We headed into the kitchen where Logan and Tanner were washing dishes.
After Tanner dried the dish he was working on he turned around and did one of those bro hug things with Tyler. "What's up man? Long time no see? What's it been, two years?"
Tyler nodded in agreement and when Logan was done we headed to the living room.
"So," I plopped down on one end of the couch and Logan sat next to me. "What's the game plan?"
Fifteen minutes later we had finally decided that we were going to play laser tag first, go out and get something to eat, and then watch a movie.
As soon as we had decided what we were going to do, Jake finally showed up.
"Hey Daytona! I'm not to late am I?" He asked as I opened the door.
"No you're right on time. We just decided on what we are going to do." I gave him the run down and met everyone else in the living room. "So are we ready to leave? Tanner are you coming with?"
"Yea I'll tag along. Get some catch up time with Tyler." We left the house and got in our designated cars.
Tanner went with Tyler in his car, and I went with Logan, Jake took his own car but was going to follow us.
When we arrived a few minutes later we waited for the older brothers to get here. "So are we going to choose our own teams or let them choose for us?" Jake asked as the other two pulled up.
"Where's the fun in picking our teams?" I replied and the five of us walked in.
"Welcome to Laser Point, how can I help you?" A man probably in his late thirty's greeted us at the door.
"Uh could we have an hour please?" Logan asked as he pulled out his wallet.
"Yes sir that'll be thirty five dollars. Cash or card?"
"Cash." Logan handed the man the money.
"Right this way." He man led us towards a room with five other people waiting by the door, "Since there is a minimum of eight players total you'll be playing with this group too. Is that all right?"
We all nodded our heads and he opened the door. "Okay well line up the middle and we'll separate you guys into two teams."
We did as he asked and lined up in the middle. Once he was done separating us it looked as if I had Tanner and Jake on my team as well as a girl named Marissa and her friend Jenny.
Logan had Tyler and two guys named Mark and Seth, along with a girl named Rebecca.
I smirked at Logan who stood across the room from me, slipping into his vest that was lit up red, "You're so going down. Did I mention that I'm a pro at this game?" I looked at my team, "We are so going to win this!"
My team high-fived each other and got ready as the man from earlier finished telling us the rules, "And finally, no rough housing. This arena is two stories and we don't want anyone to get injured now do we?" The man shot friendly glares at Tyler and Tanner.
"No as soon as those doors open, you'll have thirty seconds to get into position before shots will actually count." He continued.
"Well if no one has any questions, let's start the game in 3... 2... 1..." Two double doors slid open and we all ran in.
The room was dark and all you could see was either blue or red light up vests running through the arena. Some even went upstairs, but I took my position against a part of the wall that jutted out.
The corner fell under shadow and I sat with my knees up to my chest, trying to eliminate as much light as possible.
"You're thirty seconds is up now. The game has started." A robotic voice came out from the sound system around the place.
A few seconds later and sounds of multiple guns firing went off. Followed was only one sound of a vest getting shot.
I silently laughed at my hiding spot when I saw a red vest run past me.
Standing up I left my corner in search for the other team member I saw.
I rounded a cutout of a person and found no one behind it. I lowered my gun a little so I could see better. I took a few hesitant steps back until my back was against the wall, minimizing my chances of getting shot.
Just as I thought all was clear a red vest came running straight up towards me.
Caught off guard I wasn't quick enough to raise my gun to defend myself and I found myself looking up at a dark haired boy.
"I thought you said you were a pro at this game?" Logan smirked as he looked down at me caught between him and the wall.
"You're right I surrender." I hooked the gun up to my vest as I lifted my other hand up.
As he raised his gun, I pushed it aside with my left hand, and used my right one to spin him around and pin him to the wall.
I stood on my toes so that my lips were barely an inch away from his. His breath fluttered across my lips and I leaned in even closer, "Or not."
His eyes trailed down to my lips and I unhooked my gun and put it against his vest, "I did tell you I was good." I pulled the trigger and his light died out.
His eyes widened and his eyebrows slanted down. He opened his mouth but no words came out.
