《The Good Girl Boxer》Chapter 6

I pulled Logan by his hand to the abandoned gym, "Daytona. What's going on?" My breaths were coming out shakey and I found myself fighting back tears.
"I'll show you in a minute." I pushed open the doors and made sure we were alone. I hadn't let go of Logan's hand yet, and I didn't want to. He made me feel safe.
When I was one hundred percent positive we were alone I spun around to face him. Worry lines were etched into his forehead, "Daytona?"
I took a deep breath, "Sit down." He did as I asked and took a set in the bleachers. They protested but managed to hold.
"Two years ago I caught my dad cheating. I ran home to try and tell my mom about it, and he threatened to kill me." I was pacing as I told the story but I stopped to look at Logan.
His eyes were filled with anger but they held a hint of worry too, "For the past two years I've endured my father's beating as punishment for catching him."
"At first he would just hit me out of spite, but then it became a game for him. Everytime I flinched, he would hit me two more times. I eventually learned not to flinch and to take hits pretty well." I looked at Logan.
He was looking to his left. The muscle in his jaw worked as he kept clenching it, "Why didn't you tell me?"
He caught me off guard, "Excuse me?"
He stood up and took two steps before he was in front of me, "I said, why didn't you tell me?"
He looked into my eyes and I could tell he was serious.
"I don't know. I've never really talked about it." My eyes welled with tears. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me against him.
"If he ever touches you again, tell me okay?" He whispered into my head.
I let a tear slip down my cheek before I answered, "Okay." He let go of me and we headed out of the gym together.
***************
Logan and I sperated as we headed to our separate classes. I was walking down the math and science hallways when I heard the click of heels behind me. I stopped, "Well if it isn't Daytona the G.G."
I sighed and turned around, "What does Caroline the Cunt and Makayla the Magician what from me now?"
Both girls were stunned by the fact that I talked back. I had been wanting to for years but was always so scared too.
"Why does she get to be a Magician?" Caroline whined and I smirked at Makayla.
"She's the Magician because it's magical how fast she'll open her legs for any guy who looks her direction."
Makayla flipped her platinum blonde hair over her shoulder, "We want you to stop being so fake. Logan will never like you so stop trying."
I laughed, "I'm the fake one? I thought your boobs we're made from 65% silicone and 35% bitch, not mine."
Makayla and Caroline both gasped and looked down at their boobs.
The circle around us oohed at what I said, "If you have nothing important to talk about, I have a class to go to." I pushed my way through to two blonde bimbos and made my way to the gym.

I sat in the middle of the floor in the old gym. Mustiness surrounded me.
I was in here only ten minutes ago, but it felt right to be back. I heard the doors at my back open and I turned around expecting to see Logan but it wasn't him.
Tyler stood right infront of the doors, "Daytona?"
"Yea." I turned back around and closed my eyes for a few seconds. I heard footsteps approach and stop at my side, "You can sit you know."
Tyler sat down next to me and tilted his head up at the rafters, "I'm sorry about last night."
He raised his hand and traced over the cut I had, "I told you already, it's okay."
"But it's not. I haven't even known you for a day and I've already hurt you. I told myself not to come here, but the guilt was eating away at me." He tugged on his hair and sighed.
"Tyler. I'm used to getting hit. I fight for fun. A little cut won't hurt me." I laid back with my eyes closed. I heard him messing around in his pockets for something.
A click of a lighter and the smell of smoke told me what it was. I sat up and held my hand out towards him, "What? The cigarette?"
"Yea. Hand it over." He passed the cigarette and I held it between two fingers. It had been too long since I had smoked one, and it was long over due.
"Do you even know how to smoke?" Tyler chuckled a little when he saw me stare at the cancer stick between my fingers.
I brought it up to my lips and took a drag. I opened my mouth and blew out puffs of smoke, "Well that answers that question." He laughed.
I took one more drag before giving it back to him and standing up, "I've got to go back to class. Don't sweat it Tyler. I'm fine." I walked out of the gym and left Tyler sitting on the floor.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
AP Physics was easy as always, but sitting in English made my stomach twist in knots.
I knew Logan had this class and I was hoping he'd show up. Obviously if he didn't I wasn't going to be disappointed. Well, maybe a little bit.
The bell rang and Logan didn't show up. I faced forward ready for the lesson to start, "Good morning class-" Mr. Johnson was interrupted when an angry Logan burst into the classroom.
"Nice of you to join us Mr. Wylde." Logan took the seat behind me. He tapped on my shoulder and I turned around.
"What's up?" His lips turned up in the corner.
"What are you doing after school?" A mischievous glint played in his eyes.
"I was planning on going home. Why?"
"Cool I'm taking you somewhere."
"Okay." I turned and faced forward to continue the lesson.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
School went by as usual. People kept asking me about what was going on between me and Logan, and a fair amount of girls warned me to stay away from 'their' man.
I rolled my eyes and waited by Logan's motorcycle. He came out about a minute later. I smiled at him and he grinned back, "Ready to go Cupcake?"

I groaned at him, "Not with the nick names again."
"What's wrong?" He laughed at me and patted the space behind him.
I swung my leg up and over, "I told you just call me Daytona."
"Whatever you say Cupcake." I could hear the smile in his voice and it filled me with warmth.
"Where are we going? What did you want to show me?"
We pulled out of the schools parking lot and started to drive into town.
"You'll see when we get there."
Half and hour later we pulled up to a coffee shop in the city. It was a little coffee shop, but it was cute. It had tables near the windows and couches near the walls.
"Welcome to my favorite place on Earth." Logan gestured to the place with his hands.
"Wait. You, Logan Wylde, have a coffee shop as your favorite place?"
He did that lopsided grin again, "Yup. And I'm paying so get whatever you want."
"I can't let you pay."
"Just let me Daytona. I want to get to know you better, let me be a gentleman."
We argued for awhile but eventually I gave in and let him pay for my coffee.
The waitress was drooling over Logan, "What will it be Logan? The usual?"
"I'm not getting anything. Daytona what do you want?" The lady shot me a quick glare before returning to making goo-goo eyes at Logan.
"Uh, I'll just take a small mocha please. With whip cream." She took our order and we took a seat near the windows.
"So. What do you want to know?" I asked Logan as I folded my hands together and looked at him.
"What's your favorite color?" He titled his head waiting for my answer.
"Um let me think." I contemplated the question for awhile before answering, "Definitely black or grey. But blue comes as a close second."
He nodded his head, "My turn. What's your favorite band or artist?" I spoke before he could ask another question.
"Three Days Grace? You?"
"Paramore hands down." A different waitress then the one who took our order, brought out my coffee, "Thank you." I gave her a smile and she returned it before continuing on with her job.
"Where were we?" I said while taking a sip of my coffee.
As I drank my mocha we continued to learn more about each other. Nothing deep and personal, just simple things.
For example I now knew that he liked pineapple on pizzas and he cries at the end of the Titanic.
Let me just say he was not your average bad boy, but he was fun to be around.
He dropped me off at home and I played with the sleeves of my shirt, "Day, if you don't want to go home I can take you somewhere else." Logan looked at me, his eyebrows knitting together.
"I'm good. Thanks for the offer though." I gave him a sheepish smile.
"Anytime." Logan revved the engine of his motorcycle and took off down the street.
I faced my door and pulled the key out of my pocket. The house was quiet and when I checked the time I saw I still had a while until my dad or mom came home.
I headed upstairs and opened the laptop that sat on my desk. I located the number of the storage garage my dad had put my bike in.
I called the place and after three rings someone finally picked up, "Welcome to Cali Storage Lockers, what can I do for you?"
"Hi yes. Two years ago I put my daughter's motorcycle into unit–" I tried to remember any numbers my mom might have told me since my dad locked my bike up.
"Unit 245 I believe it was." I hoped I guessed the right number.
"Yes ma'am. I have right here the owner of the unit is Danny and Melissa Lyn? Is this correct?"
I did a silent, but happy dance in my room, "Yes ma'am that is right. I would like for you to remove the bike. My daughter will be there shortly to pick it up."
"Yes ma'am we will be right on that. Have a nice day." The lady on the other end hung up.
"Yes! Woohoo! Your girl is getting her motorcycle back!" I went to text Charlotte to pick me up when I say I had a text from and unknown number:
I have this crazy idea tell me if you're into it or not. You might not be but whatever. -Logan.
I quickly shot a text back:
Well what's your idea? And how'd you get my number? -Day
While waiting for him to respond I called Charlotte. She picked up on the first ring, "What's up girly?"
"Pick me up in five. I'm getting my bike back!" I yelled the last part carrying on with my happy dance.
"What? No way! Your dad is letting you have it back?!" She sounded just as happy for me. Why shouldn't she? She's my best friend.
"Not technically. But I'm almost eighteen now. He can't control me forever." I walked down stairs and grabbed a poptart.
Poptarts were the only reason I lived. They never cause me any pain, they only bring me joy and I will eventually end up marrying poptarts.
"I'll be there shortly. Mom! I'm going to Daytonas!" I couldn't hear a muffled response from her mom and the sound of her keys.
I hung up on her and ate my poptart in peace.
My phone buzzed and I checked it:
I wanna start a boxing club at school -Logan
I almost choked on my poptart. It was a horrible idea! Someone could find out about me. Hopefully Logan doesn't know about my fighting.
I shook the thought from my head. This was a wonderful idea. I could show the school I'm not a GG anymore.
I smiled and replied:
Sounds great! Tell me if it gets approved. -Day
A honk from outside told me Charlotte was here.
