Every time i saw Javon he avoided eye contact with me and i didn't understand why. I also didn't understand what he said to me earlier today, it made no sense i thought he hated me?
I sat on my bed reading over my script for tomorrows scene, but i couldn't concentrate, all i was think about was javon and what he said today. "i've known you for so long and i've never noticed you like this before" It made me think that maybe javon felt another way about me, a way i was too afraid to admit but i had to know the truth, so i messaged him again on instagram.

i decided to facetime wanna too see what he was talking about today.
"hello?" javon groaned when he finally picked up the facetime.
"took you long enough" i smirked as he showed his face in the camera. i set up my phone against my pillow so that he could fully see me.
"why did you call me?" he questioned while looking at me through the screen.
"do you not wanna talk to me?" i said with a sad expression on my face
"i do, i just thought you wouldn't wanna talk to me" he replied softly adjusting his camera against something so that i could fully see him.
"what?" i began with a confused look on my face "why wouldn't i wanna talk to you"

"becsuse you don't like me?" he replied sternly
"i do like you" i begun as i had to think about if what i was going to say next was the right thing to say.
"idk lately javon i've just seen you in a different way than what i did before"
"what do you mean?" he questioned
"i mean that i think i like you or idk, i just want to be around you and talk to you idk" i said looking down at my hands to avoid eye contact with him.
"that's exactly how i feel" he nervously laughed
"well what are we gonna do about that?" i asked, looking at at my screen making eye contact with him.
"talk to eachother more and hang out whenever we can and idk i guess we'll have to wait and see" he smiled
"yeah, i guess we will have to wait and see" i smiled back.

Also, feel free to drop any sort of constructive criticism since this is one of my first experiences writing in first person.Forgot to add that the story will be a little less action-orientated until around chapter 20+ when... well... read and see :) Any chapters with the * next to them have been edited or tweaked. There was a being which was regarded with scorn by all worlds of existence due to its unique ability and magical affinity which was considered even by the standard of the Gods to be a taboo. The story follows a young boy who was sold into slavery, however, a chance encounter with a soldier who was given the name of Rex and inheritor of the boy's unique ability given to him from the boy's former incarnation. As the boy learns more about his former life he must eventually come to make a choice, will he follow the same path as his former incarnation which leads to his inevitable demise or will he become a puppet of the Gods due to being unable to cope with the magnitude of his sins from his former incarnation's life? This is designed for a more serious and mature audience as there aren't many boundaries in this novel. Any kind of feedback would be much appreciated to better the novel as time goes by.

To get things started I would like to admit that this story does not bring much new to the table when it comes to the over-saturated Litrpg genre in terms of things like mechanics and power systems. Then what exactly am I trying to bring to the table with this work? A nice slow-paced novel about people maturing and growing older think of it as the re: zero or jobless reincarnation of Litrpgs. A story that tries to take into consideration how a worldwide system would affect the economics and culture of a world. A story that is much more character-focused than the typical heavy progression-focused novels this genre is known for. The RPG system, like any good power system, is there to actually explore the themes of the story and not just as a plot device for characters to get stronger. This is a story where we will see the growth of the Mc from being a baby to when he dies of old age. With plenty of heart-racing actions and intriguing plot developments along the way. Exploring themes like; What does it mean to improve at something and what does it mean to mature as a person? How does magic, the constant threat of monsters and people so much stronger than the average joe that they can destroy countries affect one's culture both on the micro and the macro scale? How people are affected by the culture in general? Generational trauma Nature vs Nurture Talent vs hard work What is morality, society, and people's opinions on both? What does it mean to be human and what does it mean to be alive in the context of a world with multiple sapient species vastly different from one another in basic biology? All these questions are going to be explored from multiple angles using the system as a catalyst for those discussions. So if any of does questions sound interesting to you what are you waiting for, I'm sure you are going to love this story. PS - Chapter come out every Friday at about the same time.
