"What the hell y/n, why didn't you tell us you were friends with Philips." Says yeah-yeah.

"He moved a few years before we did, I didn't know he lived here." I say.

"Why are you even friends with him, he's a jerk." Says Benny.

"He didn't seem like that much of a jerk." I reply.

"Well he is and if you want to play with us then you can't be friends with him." Says squints.

"That's unfair." I mutter.

"He's our enemy y/n!" Says Timmy

"Yeah he's our enemy" repeats Tommy.

"Guys I've known him since I was born, besides i don't understand why it even matters."

"Choose y/n. Him or us." Says ham.

"Cmon guys don't do this." I say.

"Well it's clear you choose him" says squints.

"Just go away y/n." Says Benny

That surprises me the most. Benny saying that makes me stop talking. I turn around and walk away.

"Smalls are you friends with Philips?" The boys ask him

"No but I think it was quite unfair making her choose." Smalls answers

"Why he's a jerk" kenny says.

"Philips was her only friend when she got bullied. And most importantly he was the only one there for her when our dad died. So her having to choose isn't easy. She really likes all of you. But she likes Philips too"

All the boys look down and stay quiet for a moment.

"Cmon guys, we gotta go apologise." Says Benny.

I decided to walk around town to take my mind off everything.

"Y/n! Wait up"

I turn around and see Philips

"Hey Jordan" I say quietly.

"What's wrong?"

"They kicked me off there team because I'm friends with you." I say.

I feel my eyes beginning to water.

"Oh I'm sorry. Do you want to hang out at my house to take your mind off it?" He says

"Sure."

I hop on the back of his bike and we make our way to his house.

The boys all run out of the sandlot.

"There she is!" Squints exclaims.

"With Philips" says Benny, annoyed.

"Guess she's happier with him after all. She doesn't need us. Let's go." Says ham.
