《Oh Captain My Captain! (Haikyuu)》Daichi final

"Babe!!!!" Daichi shouted as he jumped through the front door, his heart pounding loudly.
"What?!" You jumped surprised from his sudden outburst.
"I did it..." he said, his hands were shaking and his face somber until he broke out into the biggest grin you had ever seen.
"You did it??" you said covering your mouth in surprise.
"I freaking did it" he laughed. "I'm officially a Detective starting tomorrow" he said but still didn't believe his own words. It had been years of hard work to get to this point, he had to do supplemental classes, put in more hours than anyone else and had many sleepless nights. this was his third time trying to become a Detective but the first two hadn't worked out due to his lack of experience and the second he ended up having to miss classes due to you having complications with your second child being born.
"I knew you could do it" you said as happy tears began to stream down your cheeks. His emotions finally started to spill out and he rushed toward you pulling you into a bear hug. His body had changed a lot over the last few years and he had grown to be more bulky but he still fit so perfectly against your body, like two puzzle pieces destined to fit together. You could hear his heart pounding from excitement and you knew in that moment that the last few years of struggle had been worth it.
He had pushed himself hard and at times it had been a struggle because he was just so tired and occupied that some things had fallen to the back burner. For awhile you were concerned you would be that thing that got left behind but Sawamura had proved over and over that he was not that man. He had always made his family the priority, he would get a second wind the moment he walked inside your shared home and was in husband/dad mode. He never failed to show up to one of your events, whether it be a gaming competition at a convention or joining a live show with fellow creators. If it was a time when he would have to stay home with the children he would play the live feed on the biggest TV and watch it with the children. He was also an amazing dad, he always had energy from cuddle fights, pillow forts and losing not so gracefully at video games. You had oddly lucked out with one boy and one girl, the boy being the first born, his name was Yohan and then your daughter was Miya.
"Where are the kids?" Daichi asked as his heart finally got back under control.
"With Kou, he wanted to have a playdate" you said looking up into his eyes.
"So we're alone?" he asked to clarify.
"For a few hours" you said sexily narrowing yours eyes at him.
"Thats almost enough time" He laughed. He leaned forward and scooped you up tossing you over his shoulder and carried you back to the bedroom. He crawled right on to the bed and then dropped you from his shoulder, his hand catching the back of your head perfectly and placed you gently against the pillow.
His hands slid down your sides to your hips and then slid under the rim of your shirt, slowly sliding it up and his hands trailed along your skin. He brought his lips to your exposed stomach, kissing a few of the stretch marks that the children had left you with. His eyes always looked at you with awe and that only grew to be more true after the kids had been born.

"I should be the one pampering your body, we are celebrating you Afterall" you stroked his hair as he squeezed at your hips and sides loving they way it fit in his palms.
"No, i couldn't have done any of this without you, you pushed, encouraged and believed in me. You stayed up to help me study, took care of the kids when I worked 12-hour shifts and still kept your career going showing to the world that Woman are superior. You are such an inspiration not only to me but to everyone, you somehow made seven men fall for you and even after you chose me somehow made all of them into family and life long friends. You are a sorceress and I am so deeply under your spell that I hope never to wake up. I haven't been able to always pamper you the way I've wanted so I'm going to take advantage of these few hours to say thank you. Now please baby just relax and let me be greedy with your body" he said looking deeply into your eyes.
They had always said that the real struggle in a marriage starts after the honeymoon faze ends, but that had never been something with Sawamura. The honeymoon faze was never-ending, his smile was enough to set your insides on fire with love, the simple touch of his hand or the way he would say baby made you feel like a teen all over again. He felt the same way, he thought of you as perfect even with your glaringly obvious flaws. You both thought of this relationship as if it was destiny, like two souls always meant to find each other no matter what era they reincarnated in. You both had even gotten red string tattoos to represent this feeling of destiny.
You relaxed into the pillows and he continued his praise of your body, kissing, sucking, biting and searching every inch with his roughened hands. He used one hand to pull yours legs up onto his shoulder and kissed your ankle. His fingers snaked into the rim of your shorts and he pulled them off smoothly taking your panties with them. His kissed down your calf as his hands gripped greedily at your thighs, kneading them with his palms. He parted yours legs and lowered himself between them, he started nibbling at your inner thighs leaving trail of marks down each side. He trailed the back of his finger against your more sensitive area and you squirmed under his touch making him smile. He could tell you wanted this as badly as he did and that made his excitement grow stronger.
He couldn't maintain the slow teasing pace he had started with and dove in flicking his tongue wildly making you lurch at the sudden jolt of pleasure. He was relentless, his tongue moving move efficiently than any vibrater, quickly pulling you under its spell. Your body shook from the pleasure and he didn't slow until your thighs clamped around his head and your back arched away from the bed as the orgasm made your soul leave your body for a minute.
"I love the way your body trembles in my hands" he teased kissing your inner thigh once more.
"It not nice to tease someone, let see how long you can last Mr. Detective" you reached for the cuffs on the nightstand and clamped one down on his wrist and then attached the other to yours. "Come up here handsome" you said biting your lip, he didn't hesitate and moved to hover over you. With surprising speed you clamped your knees down at his hips and managed to flip him on his back, his eyes jumping open wide in surprise. You mounted on top of him, locking your fingers with his, the cuffs clanking together.

"Now you have the right to remain silent but that's not any fun" you teased. His eyes narrowed sexily and he gripped your hip with his free hand.
"Thats my line" he chuckled. you leaned forward slightly, reaching behind you to line him up. you could feel his patience waning as you slid him along before slowly sliding down on to him. He thrusted up pushing himself fully in which made you release a lewd moan. He sat up with himself inside of you and wrapped his arm around your waist to hold you in place.
"You have the right to remain silent but just know I wont stop until you are shaking beneath me, screaming my name" he said nibbling at your ear.
"See now your stealing my lines" you teased as he covered your neck in love bites.
"And you stole my last name" he chuckled into your shoulder.
The years went by quickly, the children grew up and moved on and life changed a lot. Daichi was amazing as a Detective and he pushed himself everyday to solve every case. But at the beginning of his 10th year he ran into a case he just couldn't solve, the culprit was smart and unfortunately had a thing for kidnapping children only. Fifteen children had gone missing and then shown up a week later discarded in the same forest, always in different locations. No matter how much they combed through those trees they could never find a hint of DNA or a single clue pointing to who it could be, just several suspects. Daichi wracked his mind and body for a year trying to solve the case but he couldn't and when a child he knew came up missing it broke him inside. He retired soon after, not able to deal with the pain of feeling helpless. He changed a lot after that day but it wasn't in the way Youd expect, he didn't pull back and become a recluse, he didn't start drinking or throw his family away. It was actually the complete opposite, he became the dedicated dad that he had always wanted to be. He was the ultimate study partner, snack deliverer, advice giver, and loud parent in the stands. There was no one more proud of their children than him, he also became a more dedicated husband, always giving his all with your projects as well and being a sounding board for you to bounce ideas off of. Live ended up being beautiful for your little family but when the kids grew up and moved off he seemed a little lost.
You were heading home from the grocery store when a posted ad caught your attention. You snatched it from the bulletin board and hurried home to show Daichi. He was always trying some new hobby at this point so you quickly found him in the garage, a new tool in his hand as he tried to figure out all its features.
"Hey Honey" he said turning towards you the instant you walked in. You marched over to him and when he tried to kiss you, you pushed the flyer into his face.
"Kiss me after you read this" you insisted. He seemed confused for a minute and then took the flyer from you reading it over.
"So the school is looking for a new coach, what's that got to do with me?" he asked.
"I think you should go apply" you explained.
"I don't have time to do that, plus I haven't played in years" he said coming up with a lame excuse.
"Sawamura" you said his first name which caught his full attention. "You need to do this, I love you so much and so I have to be honest with you. You need to be out there in the world making a difference, you weren't meant for doing home projects, you were meant to guide people and help them grow. I know that case hurt you...... but its time to find that spark again. When the kids moved off I could feel that you were sad, I was too but I know it hit you harder. So go apply for this, bring back the love you had for sports, guide these kids not only to victory but in life. Show them what it is to be a good person, a teammate and someone who doesn't give up. Please do this for me?" you pleaded.
He sat there staring at the flyer and you could see the tears start to stream down his face. He crumpled the paper in his hands and then looked up at you, his eyes filled with sorrow.
"Your right I need to get back out there, but this isn't the answer" he paused. "I need to catch him baby....... It's been eating me inside all this time and I filled that hole with the love of my family but it was like a wound that kept opening." he explained. You hadn't expected this from him and for a moment you were frozen in fear, this case had consumed him last time, but you could see how much he was hurting.
"Then go get him, make sure he doesn't hurt any more children. How though? He went dead silent shortly after you retired, how are you going to find him now?" you asked.
"Thats the thing, guys like these never actually go quiet, they just get sneaky. The impulse to kill is heavily embedded in them that fighting it is impossible, so I just have to find that one time he slipped up and then nail him down with it" he explained.
The next few months were hectic, he started by going back to his old work and pleaded his case to the current Chief. He took a lot of convincing before he decided that Daichi could be a consultant on the cold case. He dug in hard after that, researching through all the old evidence and the few names that had been thrown around as suspects but didn't stick. Worldwide searches for similar cases eventually led to a pattern and he could see how the culprit had remained anonymous was due to moving to a new town every few months. He contacted precinct after precinct, compiling more evidence and names until he found the one thing he needed, a real clue.
In one of the most recent towns there was a death of a 12 year old boy, but at the scene they had actually found a nearly full fingerprint on the child's glasses. Daichi ran it through the database and it actually had a hit, he nearly cried when the result popped up on the screen. It broke his heart the second the result showed, the mugshot that popped up was from one of the men they had suspected and brought in for interrogation. He had a solid alibi at the time though, nothing in his home or vehicle that linked him. He didn't even seem like the type which made him seem like even more of a sociopath now.
He spent the next few weeks gathering more evidence, the puzzle pieces falling together now. When he had enough for the arrest he presented it to the Chief and a task force team was set into place. They knew roughly which town he was in due to the recent kills, and they knew he would be there for awhile because he was the type to kill multiple children at each stop before moving on. They set up in a safe house for weeks, searching to whole town in disguise looking for the suspect, problem was it had been years since Daichi had seen him so it would be hard to know exactly what he looked like now. When another child went missing everyone's nerves went on high alert and desperation was starting to set it.
When searching the crime scene they found the faintest of tire tracks that helped them pinpoint the type of vehicle. Officers set out in every squad car in the city looking for the vehicle, going door to door until they found it. They quietly surrounded the home and moved in with the cover of darkness. Daichi was crouched beside the front door with four other officers waiting for the signal when a child's scream sprung him into action. He rammed his shoulder into the door and it burst open and they all charged in with guns drawn, they found the suspect at the door to the basement with the child gripped by his hair in his hand, ready to drag him down. The man froze for a second when the door flew open but then dropped the kid, he shut and locked the basement door behind him and they could hear him sprint down the stairs.
Daichi rushed for the crying child, scooping him up into his arms and holding him close to his chest to calm him. The child was only six, the youngest so far and his body was trembling with fear. All Daichi could feel was relief though, relief that they had found him in time and that another child didn't have to die. The other officers broke the handle to the basement off and rushed in, the suspect hadn't tried to escape but instead had tried to take his own life. There was a rope hanging from the ceiling that had clearly been meant for the child, he was hanging still kicking as the air was being taken from his body.
"Your not getting off that easy" An officer shouted before he hoisted the suspect up releasing the pressure of the rope and another officer climbed the ladder to cut him down. They then cuffed him and brought him from the house, they sat him in the back of the cop car and you could feel the sudden ease in tension. The child's parents had been called immediately and they came to get him, hugging Daichi tightly and offering their praise.
When everything had calmed and the house had been searched, with many bags of evidence being bagged, seemed the killer liked to keep memento's from each kill. Daichi went and sat in his car, He laid his head back and sobbed, the feeling of this burden finally being lifted after years of it haunting him. He sat there crying until he could feel the last of the pain leave his body and then he picked up the phone to call you.
"Hello?" you asked having been pulled from the beginnings of sleep.
"Its me baby....... I'm on my way home" he said smiling at the sound of your voice.
"Good, I've missed you" you said yawning and sitting up.
"I've missed you too baby" he sniffled.
"Did you get him?" you asked feeling more awake and hearing the difference in his tone.
"I got him baby" he said sniffling again, the feeling now being more of joy and relief that it was finally over.
"Good, now come home and tell me all about it, I'll wait for you" you said with another yawn.
"I'm on my way, I love you" he said.
"I love you too"

MANTIS: On Hiatus
Two young adults who were childhood friends are killed amidst a pandemic worse than our own. After many years apart, Rihelah was on her way to see Michael, hoping to rekindle their friendship on the day they would both lose their lives. The pair are unwittingly selected to represent Earth in a test set forth by godlike beings who are intrigued that our world gave rise to complex life without having been intentionally seeded by their kind. Michael and Rihelah are reincarnated as predatory insects upon a distant planet called Edon. Elves, Dwarves, Dragons and their kin, Goblins, Ogres, Humans, Lizardfolk, Orcs, and sapient arthropods known as Enkelyn all inhabit this beautiful world touched by magic. The tiny mantids must survive terrified and very much alone upon arrival, while neither is aware that the other has also been reincarnated upon the same island. Naked in their new chitinous exoskeletons, they must now brave the terrors of an alien world's food chain. Each will benefit from their years of experience on Earth, but they must somehow find a balance between old lives and new. Moderate mindsets and peaceful values from a mostly safe and privileged life on Earth must now contend and somehow coexist with the strange physiology of a new and unfamiliar body as well as the violent aggressiveness of a predator's mind. To top things off, the pair are about to find themselves struggling with their inner turmoil while swept up by terrible conflicts they know nothing about. Both endure the hardships of their new lives while attempting to understand and make proper use of a mysterious and terse video-game-like System that pops status notifications into their vision from time to time, but initially has no useful interface. Some of the options they are presented with sound enticing, but as with everything else in life, each choice has benefits and drawbacks... Author's Note: This story makes many changes to the original version, and readers of Mantid will find that many things in Mantis are new and different; especially after the first few chapters. I've learned a ton from writing like a madman, and also from the RR community. I appreciate you guys! :)
