Weeks passed by in a flash and to say they were difficult was an understatement. The days were filled with hard and long practices to prepare for Nationals, and in what free time you had it was either spent with Daichi or breaking someone's heart. So needless to say by this point you were burnt out and in need of something good to happen. Problem was you still had one heart to break, Bokuto's.

The relationship with Bo was just fun and not as deep as the others but it somehow felt the hardest. He was a ball of pure energy and sunshine and the thought of hurting him and taking away his smile was eating away at you inside. The other big problem was he didn't live close so finding a time to do it in person when he was busy practicing also was hard.

Deciding to just woman up and do it, you sent him a text asking if you could come by his home tomorrow.

y/n: Hey Bo, do you have plans for tomorrow?

No, want me to come over? :Bokuto

y/n: Actually I was going to come see you if that's okay?

The next day you sent Daichi a text of what you were doing and set off in the direction of Bo's. You decided to rent a car for the day so you didn't have to ride your bike at night. It took hours to get there and your nerves were on high so you turned on your favorite playlist and tried to not focus on the inevitable.

You sent a quick text to Bo when you were about 20 minutes away and he sent a handful of excited looking emoji's in response. When you pulled up to his house you couldn't make yourself get out of the car, your hands gripped the steering wheel so hard your knuckles were white. A tap came from beside you on the glass and nearly made you jump out of your skin, turning to look you were locked in the gaze of a beautiful golden eyed heartthrob.

"What are you doing in there Baby Owl?" he asked his head cocked sideways.

"Just thinking, sorry!" you said turning off the car and getting out of the car. He locked you into a bear hug and nearly carried you in the house.

"My parents are out so you picked the perfect day" he said finally releasing you now that you were inside. His had a huge smile on his face as he grabbed your hand and led you back towards his room. He locked the door behind the both of you and then pulled you to the bed, where he laid down and pulled you down next to him.

"I was really surprised you wanted to come see me, but I'm really happy you did" he said stroking your back. You couldn't hold it in anymore and burst into tears, his body stiffened immediately and he went into panic mode. "What's wrong baby?! A-are you okay??" he started searching your body to see if you were hurt.

"I'm so sorry Bo" you chocked out.

"Its fine Baby Owl just tell me what hurts" he said sitting up.

"My heart" you said burying your face into his pillow.

"Did someone say something mean to you? I'll send Akaashi after them" he offered.

"No..... if he needs to come after anyone its me......." You said sighing heavily. You sat up and wiped away the tears and took a deep breath before looking Bokuto in the eyes.

"What do you mean?" he asked concerned, he took your hand into his and tried pulling you closer but you resisted.

"I don't know how else to say this Bo, but I cant do this kind of stuff with you anymore. I developed feelings for someone else and I've decided to see where it goes." You quickly spit out and dropped your eyes down unable to look at his face as it changed from concern to pure sadness.

"I uh........ Are you happy with them?" he asked taking you by surprise.

"So far, but its also brand new, he is a really good guy though" you explained, you gently stroked the back of his hand with your thumb as you both sat in silence for a moment.

"Well then I'm happy for you" he said, your eyes shot up meeting his and his face though saddened did look sincere. "All I'd ever want for you is to be happy and if he does that for you that's great. I hate that I cant be with you anymore though, I really think I could make you just as happy. Maybe in a different life right?" he said trying to make lite of the situation.

"I know you could've done it in this life, because you did it every time I was with you. You make me laugh like crazy, and I think we really developed a fantastic friendship while also having a relationship and I loved it." You reached up and gently stroked his cheek with your palm.

"It just wasn't enough though?" he asked

"It was enough, you are more than I could ever ask for. I just fell harder for someone else and I just need to see where it goes" you said trying to reassure him.

"Can I ask who you chose?" he inquired.

"If you want to know I will tell you, I just don't want it to hurt you more" you said pausing to see if its what he really wanted, he gave you a quick nod. "I chose Daichi" you said simply.

"Can't say I blame you, he is a good guy" he said nodding slowly as he took in the information. "So what do we do about the tattoo's?" he joked.

"You can do what you want to with yours, but I'm keeping mine forever. This is a memory I don't want to forget, It'll give me reason to reflect back on the sweet owl boy who brought sunshine back into my life" you said looking down at your arm.

"Ummmm... so this is going to sound really lame when I ask so please don't laugh but....... Can we still be friends?" he asked.

"100%, I would love to still be friends rather than lose you from my life. I just didn't want to ask incase it would be insensitive" you explained.

"Good, I didn't want to lose you either. It might be hard for me to adjust to what I can and can't do with you now, but I'm happy with whatever!" he said the smile returning to his face.

"This isn't how I thought this would go to be honest, I was dreading having to hurt you because your smile makes my heart happy and the thought of taking that away nearly killed me. Thank you for being amazing and not kicking me out or cussing at me" you said scooting in closer to him and resting your head on his shoulder.

"I'd never do that Baby Owl, I'm definitely hurt because I was really falling in love with you but as long as we can still talk and hangout I'll get past the pain, promise" he swore.

"Do you think Akaashi is going to hate me?" you asked.

"Never, he might try to convince you to pick him instead though" he laughed.

"I hope he doesn't because I'll cave fast for those blue eyes" you teased making you both laugh.

"I need to order contacts right now" he joked reaching for his phone.

"No no no! Your gold eyes are far more brilliant, they caught me in their trap the moment I met you" you said sincerely.

"Well I guess if you like them" he said embarrassed. "So umm..... do you want to hangout and stay the night? I can invite Akaashi if that would be more appropriate" he offered.

"I'd actually love too, that saves me the long trip home in the dark." You said with a smile.

"I'll call Akaashi" Bo said smiling, he jumped up and called Keiji to explain everything and have him come over. In the meantime you sent Daichi a text explaining your plans just so he wouldn't worry.

The rest of the evening was great, the three of you watched movies and played games while eating junk food. It was easy to change to being just friends with Bo, mainly because of his free spirit and how playful he kept things. He did a few times reach for your hand to hold it, but would catch himself. You instead grabbed his hand and Akaashi's and held both of them to let him know it was okay. You all ended up crashing on the couch at the end of the night, and you left early in the morning before they woke. You sent Bo a text thanking him for the night and told him to call or text anytime.

When you got back home it was early afternoon but you shot Daichi a text letting him know you made it. He came over shortly after to hangout, he listened while you told him everything that had happened and he was actually happy that you guys had chosen to be friends. The rest of the day was spent together talking and relaxing which both of you desperately needed.

Being a 3rd year made time go by in a flash and before you knew it, it was graduation. Things had changed some over the last year but not by much. Daichi and you were still going strong having just celebrated your 1 year anniversary. Things with the team were great and Ukai had gotten you more involved with coaching and even had you lead practices sometimes. Tanaka and Noya were their usual crazy selves and had remained your best friends, still coming over constantly for sleepovers.

Today you were on edge, You had a big question you wanted to ask Daichi and the nerves were eating you up inside. Everyone thought that your shaking hands were from dealing with graduation but in reality it was something much bigger.

You paced near your front door waiting for Daichi to show up after training, he had decided to join the police academy. You held a small red box in your hands and fiddled with until you nearly dropped it when he knocked on the front door. Throwing it open you jumped into his arms squeezing him tightly.

"Hi Beautiful!" he said wrapping his arms around you. "I'm sorry I couldn't make it today, this training schedule is strict, I got you flowers though to say congratulations and how proud of you I am." He apologized. You released him and took the flowers from his hands "I also brought food because I thought you would be hungry" he said extending his other hand.

"I'll put it in the kitchen, but before we eat I need to talk to you about something." You hurried to put the food away and then came back and lead him to the couch.

"What's going on babe?" he asked a little confused.

"I have a question for you" you said pulling the box from your pocket and taking a deep breath.

"Hold on! Let me go first!" he said also pulling out a small box making your eyes widen in surprise. He got down onto one knee and pulled his shoulders back and looked up into your eyes.

"I think we might have different questions but please go first" you choked out as your heart pounded in your chest.

"Y/N, this last year with you has been amazing. Everyday I fall more and more in love with you and when I think about my future, all of my plans include you. I think of what our house will look like, what jobs we will have, even what our dogs name will be. I can't imagine a future without you and I wouldn't want to, I just want you always. So as much as I know that we are young and that it would be better to wait I just cant. Y/N, will you marry me and make me the happiest man I could ever possibly hope to be?" he asked, his hands were shaking lightly as he opened the small black box. Inside was a beautiful antique ring that had a center emerald with small diamonds surrounding it. "This one is just for now until I can buy you the one you want" he explained feeling a bit insecure that it wasn't more expensive.

"No, I just want this one, its perfect" you said as happy tears poured from your eyes.

"So is that a yes?" he asked.

"Absolutely, I want you forever too" you said extending your hand. He slipped the ring onto the correct finger and pulled you into his lap, peppering you with kisses.

"I love you y/n" he said burying his face into your neck.

"I love you Sawamura" you said wrapping your arms around his neck.

"Oh, what was your question for me? I was really thinking you were going to propose to me first and steal my thunder" he laughed and leaned back so he could see you better.

"I wanted to ask if you wanted to move in with me?" you asked popping the box open revealing a duplicate key.

"What about your parents, they okay with this?" he asked concerned.

"They are, they said this is my house until I decide to move so I can do as I please with it. I just think that since you are here most nights anyway you might as well live here, plus it will be nice to be here for you to come home to" you said blushing feeling embarrassed.

"Getting to come home to my sexy FIANCEE everyday... I can't think of anything that could be better than that" he smirked. He took the key from the box and added it to his keyring. "Fits in perfect, like it was meant to be there" he joked.

"You really thought I was going to propose?" you laughed.

"Yes, you never know with you" he chuckled.

"That's true, people are going to think we are crazy, moving in together and getting engaged on the same day, now we just need to get pregnant to complete the trifecta" you joked.

"I can make that happen" he said standing up carrying you towards the bedroom.

"I WAS JOKING!" you said playfully hitting his shoulder.

"Don't worry I'm just kidding, plus what's the likelihood of it happening on the first try" he teased.

"SAWAMURA YOU ARE SO DEAD!" you screamed from the bathroom, holding a small test with two bright pink lines in your hand. Daichi sprinted into the bathroom, his face full of panic until he saw the most beautiful smile on your face. His heart stopped momentarily as he took in your beauty and then it started pounding when he saw the small test resting in your hands.
