The explanation chapter you've been waiting for
°°°
Once Jungkook sat down next to Taehyung and offered a fond smile, he exhaled shakily.
He was nervous.
And also angry at Yoongi who carefully has wrapped his arms around the little bluehead in the hospital bed.
"So, where do you want us to start?", Jungkook spoke up, debating whether he should slap Yoongi's hands away or not.
"Hm, maybe start at the beginning like any normal human being would do?", Taehyung said and surprisingly backed away from Yoongi, hissing a bit from his aching stomach but he didn't want to be close to his lying friend at the moment.
"You", the blue haired male started and turned his head to glare at Yoongi, completely ignoring Jungkook's presence.
The male felt a pang of jealousy and hurt when Taehyung first focused on Yoongi but they've been friends way before they met so he had to swallow his pride and wait for his turn.
"Why didn't you tell me about your secret profession? With you being a freaking spy, you know how cool I find this! But you decided to lie to me, all the time you had to cancel a date, was it because of this? Tell me the truth already, Hyung", Taehyung accused Yoongi who looked shocked at the petite male.
"You knew?!", he asked shocked and Taehyung snorted.
"Of course I did, I'm your best friend dipshit", Taehyung remarked plainly before his eyes turned serious again.
"Stop lying to me, Hyung, I don't appreciate it. I like you for yourself", Taehyung said softly.
"What about Jungkook? He lied to you too but you don't even like him", Yoongi bit out but Taehyung only shook his head while Jungkook made a noise of protest.
"I don't like him because he's an asshole but he was always honest, I guess... well he kinda didn't lie about his profession because I never asked."
Taehyung shrugged his shoulders.
"I don't know whether I should be offended or not", Jungkook replied with a huff but got only a glare in return.
"I'm talking to you later", Taehyung huffed before turning his attention back to Yoongi.

"So?"
Yoongi huffed, feeling defeated and after all Taehyung has been through, he owed it to his freaking adorable best friend.
"Okay, yes I'm working as a spy. For Jung Hoseok to be exact. But being with you was real to me all along, I wanted to have a life besides my job so I got into university where I met you. I didn't tell you because I thought it's the most safest way to keep you away from this bullshit. Then you had to save the father of that shithead over here and got involved anyways", Yoongi said, voice sounding very defeated at the end.
"And your other profession?", Taehyung asked with raised brows and now Jungkook stared interested at the smaller male who seemed very much panicked, laughing awkwardly.
"Haha, Tae, very funny but let's discuss that another time, okay? When we're alone", Yoongi said awkwardly but Taehyung seemed to get the clue.
"Oh, so you're not only lying to me but to them and your boss as well. Great, Yoongles, you doing good", Taehyung said and patted Yoongi's shoulder before turning to Jungkook.
"Now you. Explain to me why these two psychos kidnapped me and how you all are involved into that. And why you were with my other kidnapper, that Park guy. Also, please hold him away from me, he hurt me once and he will too. He was going to sell me in an auction! Do you not care about that or do you want to get rid of me so badly that you would let that happen?", Taehyung harshly accused Jungkook.
"No! I would never let this happen. We went after you the same moment we knew and he kinda invited us to that auction so we came there in order to save you. But you weren't there and we beat him up so he would tell us where you are. He told us the Kims have taken you", Jungkook quickly defended himself but Taehyung's eyes narrowed.
"Way to fuck everything up, Jeon", Yoongi groaned and only then, Jungkook realized his mistake.
"Okay, to my defense, that's how this world works!", Jungkook was quick to say but that wasn't really helping.

"Fine... you wanted an explanation, so here it goes, with all the embarrassing details."
"If this contains you having sex with someone I'd rather not hear it."
"...Okay then I'll leave these details out."
"Please do I do not want to know about your dickplay of the past."
"OKAY! So, for a start, I think it's only fair to tell you that we're all not kind of involved in good shit. We're part of Korea's gang life, which is why we all are familiar with the underworld and nasty situations", Jungkook started and Taehyung nodded.
"Figured that", he commented.
"Park, full name Park Jimin, is the leader of a gang, their name is . He also has a thing for kidnapping pretty beauties like you are one to sell them to the highest bidder to make some money for his gang. Dirty bastard if you ask me", Jungkook of course had to shade his rival and Yoongi even nodded in agreement while Taehyung hung on Jungkook's lips, greedily taking the information in.
He finally got the answers he has been craving for.
"There are five main gangs in Korea, you might say the current rulers of the underworld and they all are rivals, some even enemies", Jungkook said, throwing Yoongi a glare who only smirked.
"As you now know, Jimin's the leader of , they own the selling and prostitution rings. is the name of Hoseok's gang, Jung Hoseok as his full name", Taehyung gasped by this.
The flirty yet friendly man was one of them too?!
"Just listen, Sweetheart", Jungkook chuckled by the cute look Taehyung gave him and he nodded with cute puppy eyes.
"He's responsible for all the drug trades and is therefore a really strong concurrent and very powerful. Yoongi's working for him as a spy He also owns certain tattoo shops", Jungkook explained to the cute little puppy who now understood where Hoseok must've gotten all the tattoos from.
"Then we have , you've been in the private apartment of their leaders Kim Seokjin and Kim Namjoon. They're twins as you know and train assassins. Just like their gang name states, they rule over the death, just like the egyptian god of the underworld, Osiris. They're assholes and they have weird taste. I'm so sorry they got to you and I promise to protect you next time, Tae", Jungkook said softly and reached out for the boy's hand.
Taehyung surprisingly allowed him to take it.
Yoongi coughed, slapping his hand away and Jungkook cleared his throat awkwardly before pulling away.
"Moving on to the last two. The next one was recently discovered and no one knows about their leader just now since the gang showed up out of nowhere and was fast to build up. They've named it which I suppose is a stupid name for a gang dealing with information. They're dangerous as hell", Jungkook concluded and crinkled his nose.
He failed to catch the smug look on Yoongi's face.
"And last but not least, my gang. Or well, the gang of my father I'm currently taking over since his health is not well that good anymore. We're called we deal with weapons and we're the coolest out there", Jungkook of course cockily added and Taehyung giggled.
He took it quite well considering the fact he has already known about Yoongi's secrets already.
"So all of your little gangs are starting with an 'O' and have the meaning of gemstones or an ancient death god?", Taehyung asked in disbelief.
"Hey, it's super mysterious, okay!", Jungkook defended it but also with a small smile on his face.
"Yeah, I'm like totally afraid of a gang called Olive gardens", Taehyung snarled amused before breaking into laughter.
"Ouchie", he mumbled, holding onto his stomach when it started to ache again. The two men immediately worried again.
"Okay, that isn't so hard to understand. So basically, you're all rivals and top dogs in the game yeah?", Taehyung started and the two nodded in agreement.
"Then why were you together when y'all hate each other? Was that because of me?"
And the two didn't know what to say.

Cutting to Life: an NPC LitRPG (Battle Royale)
Nikola is an NPC in The World of Wills, a video game where players can feel sensations as if they were truly there. She leads a life of bloodshed and murder - that is, until one day she wakes up sapient. Just as she begins thinking real, non-scripted thoughts and making connections, she and the players in the game are told that if they die in the game, they die in real life - and it's time to get killing. But what of Nikola, the emerging AI consciousness? How does she win in a game that can only end in her being wiped from existence at the end of it all? - Updates Mondays and Fridays. Cutting to Life is a slow-burn LitRPG with a villainous (later anti-hero, or maybe still villainous, haha) female lead. It's told from the perspective of Nikola, an NPC within the World of Wills who's become sapient and is now mysteriously able to play the game as a PC. It's quite light for a LitRPG, but the system and stats become more of a focus later when Nikola herself can access them. The story gradually builds into a Battle Royale where the players' lives are on the line (if you die in the game, you die in real life), and only one party of savvy adventurers can win. They'll have to spend their time and stats wisely as dungeons promising rare gear float down from the sky - but is a legendary sword worth killing someone for, knowing they'll stay dead forever? - This story is told in third person, past tense.- This is a slow-burn LitRPG that spends a lot of time establishing its setting and characters, because I believe this will make for a better payoff in the end. As such, the Battle Royale doesn't start until chapter 30 or so.- Chapters are anywhere between 800 words and 3000 words long.- Book cover by Vixeona.Cutting to Life is also being posted on SPB and Scribble Hub.Thank you sincerely for reading.
