The next few weeks after your confession were spent training the team together, dates consisted of coffee before practice, being together at his store or him coming over on his nights and weekends off. Both of you were on edge until the day of Nationals arrived and you were happy to get it over with so life could calm down for a while.

The bus pulled up to the arena Nationals was held at and everyone sleepily exited the vehicle having slept most of the ride there. You had slept on Tsukki as usual, he had been a bit hurt when he learned about you and Ukai but had eventually gotten over it and settled on being your friend.

Walking up to the front door you were surprised to see Ushijima standing by the entrance, his big stature scaring some of the viewers who came to watch the games. Your stomach turned knowing that you weren't ready to tell him it was over. You looked over your shoulder at Ukai who had also spotted him, he gave you a simple nod encouraging you to go talk to him. Taking a deep breath you maneuvered around a few people and set your eyes on him. When he noticed you he smiled and came down the front steps to meet you.

"Hi Honey" he said pulling you into his arms and placing a kiss on your head. "This is for you" he said pulling a rose from behind his back. "I wanted to get you a full bouquet but didn't know where you would put it for now" he explained.

"Thank you, this is perfect. What are you doing here?" you asked.

"I wanted to come support you" he explained.

"That's really sweet Ushi, I........ can we go talk for a minute?" you asked knowing it would be better to get it over with sooner rather than later.

"Sure, where to?" he asked offering you his hand. You made one more look over at Ukai who was entering the building but looking over his shoulder at you. You took Ushi's hand and led him away from the building to a small grove of trees that had a bench. He sat down and pulled you into his lap, you moved to sit next to him but he locked his arms around your waist.

"I think this would be better to say when I'm not in your lap" you explained hoping the hint would get through to him.

"This isn't the first time you've broken up with me, but this could be the last time I hold you like this so just stay here please?" his stoic face asked.

"I... I'm just sorry. You really are a fantastic guy and as stupid as it sounds it really isn't you it's just me. My heart decided on someone else and as scared as I am I need to follow it. I hope you don't hate me because I really have love for you. You are an amazing guy and you made me feel so special and spoiled and I can never repay you for that. You really have helped me heal and have always been there for me" You sniffled and small tears began to form.

"Don't be sorry, I should've just been better when you were mine. I messed up my chance by taking you for granted and then you were amazing enough to let me back in but just in a different way. I have no regrets, spending time with you, kissing you and loving you has been more than I could ask for. I'm sorry that I'm not as open with my emotions as I could have been, I know I can be hard to read sometimes, but I do care for you, I honestly do love you" He explained.

"I've never thought of you as hard to read, I know others can find you scary or too focused but you were always different for me. Your smile is amazing and it shocked others but it always filled me with butterflies. Thank you for being my first love, I'll never forget that" you said wrapping your arms around his neck.

"And I'll never forget you, there will never be another Y/N." he said hugging you back. You guys sat like that for a long time, each not ready to let go.

The sound of the announcer saying your team name pulled both of you back to reality. He slid you off of his lap and back onto your own feet.

"I better get going" he said looking over your head avoiding your eyes.

"Thank you for coming here for me, that was really sweet" you grabbed his collar and pulled him down kissing his cheek. You pulled back but his hand caught the back of your neck and pulled you in for a kiss. His emotions poured through his lips and made the tears come back to your eyes, slipping down your cheeks.

"Goodbye Honey" he whispered before releasing you and walking away.

The next few days were hard but Ukai was by your side for all of it, he wasn't lying when he said he would be understanding and patient.

Things progressed naturally between the two of you over the next year and you truly fell in love with him. He was the rock you needed while you went through a hard 3rd year, between school, the team, and your streaming stress levels were at an all time high. Times with him though were your safe haven, it was simple and easy to love him which wasn't something you knew how to deal with. You constantly worried about when the shoe would finally drop but it didn't, he just remained who he was always and it made you feel safe.

The day of graduation came and an excitement filled your body to the brim. Today was the day you would announce to the world that you and Ukai were together. You had called you parents and told them a few weeks ago and it hadn't gone well but they had started to warm up to the idea and even planned to visit soon. The team had also figured it out months ago because the two of you were honestly horrible at keeping the flirting at bay.

After you got your diploma you, Tanaka and Noya walked outside and took a bunch of crazy selfies. The 2nd, now 3rd years were there also and jumped into the photos.

"Can I get one too?" someone asked. You looked their direction and were surprised to see Daichi standing there as handsome as ever.

"Of course get in here!" you said grabbing his arm and pulling him into the mix. He joined in with the funny faces and the whole group laughed together.

"Get one of me and y/n will you?" he asked handing the phone to Tanaka. He stood close to you and you both smiled, then Tanaka handed the phone back. "Now that's a good one" he said showing you, it was honestly a great picture of the both of you.

"Thanks for coming to support us" you said trying to change the subject.

"No problem, I had to come make sure those two trouble makers made it through" he laughed.

"It was a struggle but we all got there, well anyways it was nice seeing you but I better get going" you said awkwardly and took a step back.

"Oh actually I was going to see if you wanted to get some dinner to celebrate" he offered.

"That's really sweet, but I have had plans for this day for over a year now and I'm not about to miss them. It really was nice to see you though!" you waved at him over your shoulder and hurried through the crowds looking for that special someone. When you spotted him your heart began to race, he was leaned up against his motorcycle his eyes glued to yours. He pushed away from the bike standing up and extended his arms to you. You ran forward and jumped into his arms locking yours around his neck and planting your lips against his.

"Oh" Daichi said surprised, You hadn't really told anyone who your choice was, you had just made it clear to each of them that you had chosen someone else incase someone held harsh feelings. "How long has that been going on?" He asked Tanaka who was still standing beside him.

"For a little over a year now, they have been keeping it secret though, not very well I might add" he joked. Daichi walked away without saying anything else and walked directly in your direction.

Ukai put you back down on your feet just as Daichi walked up. They both extended their hands and shook, the tension between them was actually pretty calm.

"Hi Coach, hope things are well but I just needed to come say something. I know its not really my business but please don't hurt her. I have respect for you and I don't want to lose that, plus if it ever happens just know I will come in and pick up the slack and make her happy." Daichi said making his intentions known. Your eyes went wide at his statement but did warm something inside you to know that he still had your back.

"Don't worry, I know what I have and I'm not willing to lose that. Appreciate the warning though, don't worry I'll make her so happy she wont even remember your name" Ukai joked, he didn't like the whole situation and wasn't sure how to handle it.

"That's enough boys" you warned. They stopped shaking hands and Daichi looked at you once more before taking his leave.

"Brave man and He has quite the commanding presence" Ukai noted as you both watched Daichi leave.

"Pretty hot right?" you joked making Ukai scoff and smack your butt.

"I'll show you hot" he teased.

"Mmm what a great graduation gift" you said with a sexy smile.

"Speaking of gifts I have a couple for you" he said looking away nervous.

"You didn't have to do that but I'll gladly accept" you said sticking your hands out.

"We need to go for a short ride first" he explained. He took the helmet from the back of his bike and put it on you, clipping the strap under your chin.

He climbed onto the bike and you hopped on behind him, the engine revved up below you and he took off fast making you squeal with laughter. He wove through a few streets you were familiar with but you didn't really know where he could be taking you. It was a short ten minute drive before he slowed down and stopped by the curb of a small cute home. You got off the bike and took off your helmet, he was quick to be by your side and his eyes were glued to your face to see your reaction.

"What do you think?" he asked.

"Its very cute, I'm just confused why we are here" you said laughing.

"I bought this for us" he said, you turned to him quickly to see if he was joking but his face was serious.

"You bought us a house?" you asked voice a bit shaky.

"Yes, I know its not what you are used to living in but I thought it would be a good start and we could design it however you want" he explained. The tears started to pour from your eyes and your body shook, he freaked out for a second unsure of what to do but then just pulled you into his arms. "You don't like it?" he asked.

"I l-love it" you choked out.

"Then why are you crying?" he asked with a gentle laugh.

"Because its just so pretty" you said still crying.

"You want to go see the inside?" he asked gently guiding you towards the door. You shook your head yes and he lead you inside. The inside was empty but you wiped the tears from your eyes and started to think of all the things you could do to make it home.

"See I was thinking over here would be a good spot to put a smaller movie setup, can fit a good size couch and then the ceiling is sturdy so we can hang the projector. The stove in here is old so we will need to get a new one but the cabinets are really nice. Its two bedrooms so I think this one would be perfect for your streaming setup. The downside is I don't know where we can put all your manga and figures but" he said leading you out into the back yard "We have a lot of space out here so we could build you a nice shed that you could put your books in and some cool chairs, and then we can just put your figures in the game room or throughout the house" he rambled on, it was clear he was nervous and wanted you to like the home which only made you adore it more.

He moved to pull you back inside but instead you pulled him into your arms and planted a kiss on his lips. He was surprised at first but quickly fell into the kiss, his arms pulling you tight into his chest. You pulled back from the kiss and rested your head against his chest looking into your new home and smiled.

"This is going to be perfect, I can't wait to start our lives here together" you said and looked up at him.

"That makes me happy to hear, I was worried you wouldn't like it or that you would think its too soon" he tucked a strand of hair behind your ear as he spoke.

"Too soon?" you laughed "I've wanted to ask you to move in with me for several months, you basically stay with me most nights anyway and I hate the nights that you aren't there." You playfully explained.

"And its not too small?" he asked voicing his real concern.

"No, it's exactly what I imagined our home to be. My parents house is much too big and unless the whole team is there it just feels empty. This house though is perfect, might need to go bigger when we have kids though" you said not thinking.

"Kids?" he said grabbing your shoulders and holding you away from him slightly so he could see your face.

"Not right this second don't worry!" you teased. He relaxed laughing and pulled you back against his chest.
