《Oh Captain My Captain! (Haikyuu)》Bokuto 2

Today was the first day of Nationals and the entire team was nervous, it had taken a lot of work to get here and now they didn't know what to do with themselves. Today was also a big day because you were going to tell Bo how you felt and the nerves were like a monsoon in your stomach.
"Hey CHibi-chan" a familiar voice called, you turned around to see the Nekoma team entering the front door.
"Hey kitten" a softer voice said from beside him.
"Kuroo and Ken-ken!" you said genuinely happy to see them. You rushed over locking Kenma into a hug which he gladly accepted. "I've missed you Ken-ken" you said kissing his cheek.
"I've missed you too" he said shyly tucking his chin into his jacket collar.
"Feeling an awful lot like chopped liver over here" Kuroo said to get your attention.
"Sorry pretty boy, I missed you too" you said trying to hold your smile. He was one of the ones it was harder to break things off with and he didn't take it well at all. It took a few weeks for him to get past being hurt and he had messaged you an apology, conversation hadn't been the same since then and this was the first time seeing him so it just felt awkward. He lightly extended his arms to you offering a hug, you pushed past the nerves and guilt you felt and locked him into a tight hug.
"This is a lot more awkward than I thought it would be" he whispered into the top of your head.
"Yea I know, I hate it" you confessed.
"Me too, it'll get better though right?" he asked.
"I really hope so" you looked up at him and he nodded before releasing his hands from around you.
"Well we better get going, gotta warm up for the first game" you said taking a few steps back.
"I have no doubt we will face each other later, good luck" Kuroo said his cocky smile returning to his handsome face.
"Good luck to you too, I'll cheer for you quietly" you said winking at him before walking away.
"Why is it impossible not to love her?" Kuroo asked Kenma.
"I don't know, but I wouldn't change it" he said in response before walking away with his hands in his pockets.
The first game of Nationals was intense, seeing the caliber of the teams here today made you feel even more proud of your team. You again were stuck up in the stands but you made sure to cheer loud enough for them to hear over the rival teams audience. Ukai had kept his phone on so you could text him things during the game to help the team and in the end they won!

When the game ended everyone rested in the stands before the next game until Ukai said you all could get a snack or shop at some of the small stands. Hinata wanted a shirt he had his eye on from the moment he walked in so you went with him and Yamaguchi came along also. Once he had gotten his shirt and you had picked up the same one in a larger size to sleep in you pulled both of them towards the second arena area where a special someone was playing. You found a spot to the side of the court and watched as the game unfolded on the court.
Bo seemed out of sorts, his hair was drooping and he wasn't going for any of the balls like he usually did. You didn't know what had happened in the game so far but you knew it was the perfect time for you to show up. A time out was called and You could see Akaashi was trying to get Bo back into his usual self, when he pointed your direction your heart started beating faster.
"Y/n and your student came to see you too!" Akaashi said.
"Hey, he saw us. Bokuto-san!" Hinata called out holding up his "The way of the Ace" t-shirt.
"Baby-owl!" he yelled out excited to see you.
Too nervous for words you waved back, he smiled but his hair showed he was still feeling down, so you gathered all your courage and yelled.
"I love you Koutarou!" he froze for a minute after hearing your words. His face then broke out into the biggest smile you have ever seen and his hair stood taller than ever.
"I love you too y/n! This next one is for you!" he said jumping excited.
At the end of the game, after an obvious win, he ran from the court to find you. When you stepped out from behind a camera man he charged full speed towards you. His arms locked around you tightly and he planted kisses rapidly all over your face making you laugh.
"Hi baby!" he chirped excited.
"Hi! You did so good out there handsome!" you exclaimed as he finally sat you back on your feet.
"It was all thanks to you" Akaashi teased as he walked up.
"Just good timing I guess" you said giving him a wink.
"Ummm so I have a question" Bokuto said bringing your eyes back to his. "Did you mean what you said?" he asked tentatively.

"Absolutely!" you said smiling up at him.
"So does that mean were boyfriend and girlfriend now???" he asked excited.
"Only if you ask me" you teased.
"Mhm" he started by clearing his throat " Ms. Y/N L/N will you please be my baby momma?" he joked. "I mean will you please be my girlfriend?" he asked more serious but still smiling.
"I'm down for both, want to get started now?" you asked with a serious face to freak him out.
"Hell yea! Our babies would be so cool and good at volleyball!" he cheered, he grabbed you around the waist and threw you over his shoulder.
"I was joking Bo! We cant have babies right now, I've still gotta finish school!" you said laughing and hitting his back playfully.
"Too late you already said it, so I'm putting a baby in you" he laughed and carried you out of the gym.
After all the games for the day were over he decided he needed to come home with you and "Consummate the relationship" his words not yours.
When Nationals was finally over things changed quickly in each of your lives. Bo was set to start playing for The MSBY Black Jackels and you still had a final year of school to finish before you could live closer to him. The commute back and forth was something neither of you liked but you would both switch off weekends to make it work. The rest of the week you spent helping train the Karasuno team, helping them to still grow and strive to get to Nationals once again.
The day of graduation Bo had come to stay with you and be there for when you received your diploma. Everyone jumped when he started cheering for you as they handed the small certificate over. Once outside he tackled you in a big hug swinging you around wildly again peppering you with kisses. He had even dressed up for the occasion which surprised you and he looked very handsome.
"Congrats Baby-owl!" he smiled. "We have to go home right now!" he said sitting you back on your feet and grabbing your hand.
"Wait the guys were all going to meet in the gym" you laughed.
"That has to wait I have a surprise for you!" he said pulling you away from the school. You quickly texted the others and told them you would find them later.
Bo seemed nervous the whole way to your house, he kept clenching his free hand into a fist and then relaxing it. As you got closer to the house you could see small sweat droplets forming on his face which made you nervous for some reason.
"What's this surprise Bo?" you asked slowing your pace.
"I can't tell you, I have to show you" he said with a slightly shaky voice.
You both got to the front of the house and he put a hand over your eyes before opening the front door. He led you inside and guided you to the couch and sat you down.
"Keep your eyes closed" he instructed before releasing his hand. You could hear him shuffling around and then he stopped back in front of you. "Okay open them!" he said.
You opened your eyes and Obi the dog that Oikawa had gotten for you sat at your feet with a neat bow tied around his neck. You were confused until he shook his fluffy ears around and something sparkling caught your eyes. Reaching down you untied the bow and a ring slipped from the silky ribbon landing on the ground. You grabbed it and admired it, it was a yellow diamond on a gold band, it sparkled beautifully in the light. It suddenly clicked what this was and your eyes shot up to meet Bokuto's very nervous ones.
"I know this might be too soon, but I couldn't wait any longer. The moment you walked into that gym I wanted to be with you every day for the rest of my life. This last year has been hard for us at times but I've never once doubted my love for you and I'm ready to take this next step with you so, will you marry me y/n?" he asked as he quickly dropped down onto one knee.
"Oh Bo....... Of course I will!" you said as tears started to pour from your eyes. He grabbed you pulling you onto the floor in his lap and peppered your face with hundreds of kisses, making sure to hit each tear as it fell.
"I love you so much Baby-owl" he said as he nuzzled into your cheek.
"I love you too Daddy-owl"
