《Oh Captain My Captain! (Haikyuu)》Chapter 50

The light peeking through the curtains is what woke you up, Ukai was snoring lightly beside you. His hair had fallen over his eyes making him look more dreamy than normal. He mumbled something in his sleep but you couldn't understand, you leaned in trying to see if it would make it more clear.
"Mmmm....... Princess" he said in his dreamy state.
"You dream of me too? Oh Keishin, what am I going to do with you?" you swept his hair out of his face making him stir slightly.
"Bed" he said more clearly.
"Yes you stay in bed, I'm going to go order us some breakfast" you said giving him a quick peck on the cheek.
"Okay...... I love you" he said, his voice was still heavy with sleep but his words stopped you from moving another inch. Your eyes were wide in terror and you prayed you had heard him wrong, but he didn't say anything else for you to know if he was actually awake.
"Keishin are you awake?" you asked quietly, he adjusted slightly but didn't say anything. "I'll be back" you said and promptly got out of bed. Racing to get dressed you hurried outside into the elevator, the doors wouldn't close fast enough no matter how many times you hit the damn button and your anxiety was hitting its peak. The doors opened again on the 1st floor and it took everything in you not to sprint out the front doors, once outside though your feet set a pace of their own and you ran. You had no clue where you were going but several turns later you found a small park and collapsed onto a nearby bench.
Dropping your head into your hands you tried to get your breathing back under control but your anxiety kept making it spike leaving you breathless. Your mind was racing a million miles a minute and you just couldn't come to understand Ukai's words.
"How could he love me??" you groaned out.
His words didn't make sense, you hadn't spent all that much time alone yet he could have those types of feelings? Maybe it was just a habit for him to say those words before someone left home. Maybe he didn't mean it in a romantic way, could've just been a misunderstanding you thought. You knew that wasn't the case and that made the panic inside worse. It was going to be hard enough to eventually have to break the others hearts, knowing that they probably felt the same as Ukai, but to turn him down after saying something so precious would hurt even more.
With a heavy sigh you laid down on the bench and looked up into the beautiful blue sky above you. Seeing the clearness of the sky was almost instantly calming, bright skies meant happy days in story books. Could this be a happy day also? You would like to think so but you knew there would have to be a deep conversation first that you weren't sure you were ready for. Deciding to put it off a bit longer you laid there and watched the birds fly above, leaving their worries behind.
Not knowing how long you laid there you finally sat up and made your way back to the hotel, it took a lot longer to get back with not knowing the way. You stopped at the front desk and ordered food for the room and then made your way upstairs. When the elevator doors opened on your floor the panic tried to creep back in. With a heavy sigh you pushed yourself to walk out and to your room door, your hand rested on the knob not willing to turn it. Gathering yourself you opened it and walked into a distressed looking Ukai who was pacing in the small living room area.

"Y/n? Where the hell have you been?" he asked frustrated, he stormed over to you and pulled you tight into his arms.
"I'm sorry I just needed some air" you explained patting his back.
"It's been hours, I was worried sick" he said squeezing you tighter.
"I'm really okay, just lost track of time" you pulled back from him slightly and he loosened his grip.
"Where did you go?" he asked looking down at you, his voice much calmer.
"Can we sit down for a minute?" you asked avoiding his question.
"Okay, what's going on?" he asked confused. His hands dropped to his sides and he followed you over to the couch.
"Do you remember what you said to me this morning?" you asked looking him straight in the eyes.
"No, did I say something bad?" he asked, his confusion growing more.
"You.......You said you love me" you said finding the words hard to get out.
"Oh" he looked away now, he chewed on his bottom lip as if he was thinking of what to say next.
"I don't know if you meant it in any certain way but it really took me by surprise" you said choosing your words carefully.
"Surprised enough that you disappeared for hours?" he questioned, a hint of sadness in his tone.
"Yes" you said being truthful "It honestly scared the hell out of me" you explained.
"Is it because you don't feel the same?" he asked.
"It wouldn't be right if I did, I have a real connection with you and spending these days with you have been amazing. The problem is you aren't the only one in my life, and saying those words right now would be wrong, I cant do that to you knowing that I couldn't be only yours. I appreciate you saying it to me, but I can't say it back" you felt bad saying those words but you knew it was better to be up front about the situation.
"Not to diminish this moment but I'm not sure why I said it. I have feelings for you obviously and spending time with you makes my day better and maybe that is a sign of love but I really wasn't ready to say that to you yet. I guess my unconscious brain was ready though" he awkwardly laughed.
"So what do we do from here?" you asked unsure how to react.
"I think we just need to talk about it, avoiding it or acting like it didn't happen will only make things worse. So I guess my first question is how did hearing it make you feel?" he asked.
"Terrified, shocked, guilty, happy......" you said the last one more quiet.
"Okay not exactly what you like to hear about a romantic confession but I get it" he said with a little chuckle. "Why do you think it makes you feel that way?" he asked as a follow up.
"Because I feel like I made a mistake" he flinched slightly hearing that "I came here set in a certain way I wanted to live my life and then this group of guys comes along and turns my world upside down, now here I am forming feelings for people that I told myself I wouldn't. Now I either have to convince everyone that they don't want to date me, or choose whose heart to break. Because I can't realistically keep everyone, and the feelings are too deep at this point for me to just pull away. I don't want everyone to hate me either..." you stood up and had begun pacing.

"And you don't think things could continue on the way they are?" he asked.
"No, how could it? If you even feel a little bit in love with me then I'm sure some of them feel the same way, so I'm just hurting everyone. What do I do now?" you asked slightly frantic.
"First calm down, and come sit by me" he grabbed your wrist and pulled you beside him, he wrapped his arm around your shoulders and held you close. "I'm sorry I did this to you....." he sounded heart broken which tore you up inside.
"You didn't do this to me Keishin" you turned your face to him looking him in the eyes. "As much as your confession scared me, it also made me feel immensely happy. You are amazing and I am beyond lucky to have you in my life. That's the problem though, I don't want to hurt you, I don't want to lose our fun flirting and sneaky hand holdings" You leaned your head forward resting it against his.
"I'll never not flirt with you princess, it makes me smile seeing the blush cover your cheeks. Yes things would have to change if you had someone serious in your life but that wouldn't stop me from being a part of your life or relying on you when it comes to the team. I'll still need you" he said to reassure you.
"You promise?" you asked looking back up at him.
"I'll promise if you promise to really consider me as an option. I also ask that if you don't choose me that you promise to pick who can make you happy" he countered.
"And if I do pick you?" you asked.
"Then I will do everything I can to make you happy, we will face a lot of hardships at first but I promise I'll stay by you through all of it." His words were spoken softly but were filled with so much power and truth.
"Okay, I promise"
"And I promise" he said with a half smile. He leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss on your lips, he started to pull away but you grabbed the back of his head holding him in place. You deepened the kiss and pulled yourself into a straddling position in his lap. You ran your tongue across his lips which he happily parted, his mouth tasted of mint and tobacco which you had come to love.
"I'm sorry if my words didn't come out right, I hope you know I like you a lot, like a lot a lot" you said looking down at him worried.
"I know" he said giving you a genuine smile.
"Good, now take me to the bedroom, we need to properly makeup" you said giving him a flirty smile.
"Yes Ma'am, not going to argue with that" he said chuckling, he stood to his feet and carried you into the bedroom kicking the door shut behind him.
The rest of the day was much better, you explored the local area more doing tourist type things. The tour of the celebrity homes wasn't all that interesting but Ukai was wowed by the sheer sizes of the homes. In the late afternoon you both went to the beach which was much different than anything in Japan, the bathing suits were even smaller than yours and both of you were quite shocked. The tour of Universal Studies was probably your favorite part of the day because one of your favorite celebrities waved at the tour group you were with. At the end of the day you found a hot local spot to eat dinner and then the two of you went back to the hotel to watch a movie and crash after the excitement.
The following morning both of you packed your things back up and went for breakfast before heading to the airport at 5am. The trip home went by much faster and you actually talked most of the way, about the future, life goals, and what life could be. It was a very light fun conversation and you put your previous worries out of your mind choosing to just live in the moment.
When the plane landed you had the driver take you to Ukai's home first to drop him off. He held your hand in the darkness of the back seat. You could tell both of you were feeling a sense of dread with being back home and having to go back to normal day life. When the car pulled up in front both of you got out and stood beside the car.
"You sure I can't come stay with you tonight? Or you can even stay with me, I don't mind" he said nodding towards his home.
"I better not, I need to go home and deal with the many missed calls and texts that I've gotten from everyone. I think my mother thinks I died in the plane because she keeps texting me which is very out of character. I'll call you tomorrow though, okay?" you offered.
"I wish I could convince you but I get it, don't answer everyone tonight. Be sure to get plenty of rest and I'll talk to you tomorrow." He kissed your cheek and forced himself to go inside before he dragged you in with him.
The ride home felt so much emptier and you weren't excited about being alone tonight. It was best though to be alone because you had so much to think about and the conversations you would be having over the next few days were not something you were looking forward to. Getting out of the taxi you made your way through the front door. Kicking off your shoes you sighed heavily and took a deep breath of all the familiar scents of home.
"WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?" a voice angrily asked. Opening your eyes you were surprised to see both Tanaka and Noya standing with their hands on their hips.
"Oh hey guys" you said flashing them a smile.
"Don't oh hey guys us, where have you been? No one was able to get ahold of you and we were all worried sick" Noya said waving his finger at you.
"If it helps I brought you gifts" you said motioning with the bags in your hands.
"Oooo gifts!" Noya's mood instantly changed until Tanaka elbowed him in the side. "I mean gifts wont get you out of this young lady" he said to scold you further.
"I'm sorry, you wanna stay the night and I'll tell you what happened?" you offered.
"Obviously" they said in unison.
The three of you sat on your bed and you told them the events of the last few days. They listened to every word, not daring to interrupt.
"Coach huh? Can't say I didn't see that one coming, I've seen the way he looks at you. Pissed me off at first but not so much anymore" Tanaka explained.
"Now the problem is, I need to choose just one of these guys and I don't know who to pick. Can I talk it through with you guys?" you pleaded.
"I've got to be honest I think both of us will be a bit biased when it comes to Daichi but if it will help you I'll listen" Noya said with a smile.
"Yea me too" Tanaka added.
"I'm so glad I have you guys as my best friends! So where should I start?" you asked.
"Just pick one" Noya said with a shrug.
"Okay I'll start with Ushijima. So with him things are probably the most complicated because we have been in a relationship before. I have loved him fully once and those feelings still linger. I'm close with his family, and they have always treated me as family. We didn't work out the first time mostly due to distance but also because he just wasn't willing to make time for me. Between his practices, workouts, helping his family, school and everything else the nights we could talk he was too busy. Things could be different now though with me living here, the time difference isn't an issue and he isn't as busy with practice but that will change in a few months when he goes to college. He is also such a gentleman and always makes me feel special, he brings me flowers every time he sees me and he opens his truck door for me." You began to smile as you talked.
"Can I ask a question I've always wondered though?" Tanaka asked.
"Sure"
"Is he the one who kept making you change, the one that made you so sad?" he asked.
"No! That was someone after him, Ushi has never tried to change me. He is very open about his preferences though which I kind of appreciate. Like for instance he likes me to wear really girly dresses which isn't usually my style, but seeing his expression when I wear them makes it worth it." Your cheeks became a bit hot thinking of his excited eyes.
"Okay real question, how's he in the bedroom?" Noya asked with raised eyebrows.
"Surprisingly not vanilla, he actually likes some light bondage and punishment. His body is immaculate, like it was carved by the gods. He is also huge" you said motioning with your hands.
"GROSS STOP!" Tanaka said covering his ears and closing his eyes.
"Sorry I was just answering honestly" you said laughing.
"Just move on to the next one already, we don't have all night" He said motioning for you to go on.
"Okay okay, chill! Okay so next we can talk about Tsukki, he is probably the most unexpected one for me. He has such a mean exterior but he is honestly so sweet, he gives me shit but will always look out for me. Outside of you guys I would say he is my closest friend and I didn't think I would develop actual feelings for him but I did. He is the type to scold you for tripping but then hold you closer to make sure it doesn't happen again. He isn't afraid to call me out and tell me off when he is upset which not everyone does. I also think taking his virginity was a real turning point in our relationship because I had thought he was cute before but seeing him like that really turned me on. His large hands and long fingers gripping my thighs and hips, the hungry look in his eyes, I don't think I'll ever forget that image." You said looking off in a sexual dreamy way.
"Okay maybe less details your gonna make me hard over here" Noya joked.
"Thinking of me and Tsukki turns you on?" you teased.
"I'm a testosterone filled man, everything turns me on. Now move on" he stated seriously.
"Yes sir!" you said giving him a goofy salute. "Next I guess would be Oikawa. There isn't much to say about him, I honestly don't know why I even consider him. I mean he is very flirty and his confidence is very attractive. My eyes are always drawn to him when he plays, seeing the power he possesses really gives me goosebumps. I really didn't like him at first but for some reason my attraction grew enough that we had sex in a haunted house while I was on a date with someone else. I still didn't like him much after that but then he showed up her after the game against you guys and he was so sincere that my feelings really turned. Now he texts me often, telling me how pretty I am or how he can't wait to see me and it makes me smile every time. " you explained.
"Nope still don't like him, NEXT!" Tanaka said ending the subject.
"That's not nice, you just need to give him more of a chance like I did" you playfully reached over and swatted him.
"Not gonna happen" he said dodging your hit.
"Fine, I already told you about Ukai so I guess next is Daichi. I know you guys are rooting for him more than anyone else and I get it. He is amazing, he is a gentleman, caring, compassionate, strong and everything I've ever dreamed of. He takes care of my needs, doesn't judge me, and I feel safe with him. I've liked him from the moment I met him but every day his actions make it so much deeper. When he got hurt during that game from your giant head I thought my heart broke, I've never been so scared in my life. What's crazy is when I found him all he did was worry about me, he didn't care about the pain he felt he just wanted to hold me and make me stop crying" you began to tear up at the thought.
"I'm no expert but that sounds like love to me" Noya said.
"I think your right, it might be love, the problem though is I feel like that about all of them. " you said with a shrug.
"I think I already know the winner but who else do we need to talk about?" Noya said trying to move the talk along.
"The only ones left are Kuroo and Bokuto. Kuroo means so much to me, id say he is equal to Daichi in that way. He is so smart, and fun, he is a great leader also and surprises me with how caring he can be. He never makes me feel alone and constantly puts in effort to talk to me everyday even if its only for a few minutes. He also makes me feel safe and appreciated, and I know he would be the best boyfriend. He is unbelievably handsome and his bed head makes me laugh, he is also willing to try new things. His dirty talk is top notch also, just gotta add that!" You laughed watching their faces flinch. "Bokuto on the other hand is just a ball of fun, I never know what to expect with him and I love that. He is always down for anything and makes me laugh so hard my stomach hurts. The way his hair droops when he is sad makes me like him even more. I'll also say he can go more rounds than anyone I know and I cant keep up but it makes me want to try" you joked.
"You are a sick woman you know that?" Tanaka said shaking his head.
"What?! I'm really holding back details here, I didn't tell you about the time I had sex with Daichi while Kuroo listened and talked dirty to me. Or the time I did it with Ushi in his truck with you guys only a few feet away, I think you guys heard it though so maybe I didn't need to tell you that one." You teased further.

The General Core {The Sphere}
The life cycle in the Sphere is on the brink of collapse because one of its elements, the Dungeons, have been exploited too much by the mortals. The group who created the Sphere already tried and failed with several modifications, because the original computer-like dungeon cores are too inflexible to handle changing approaches. So they try another type of solution – taking souls from other worlds to try to find a solution before the Sphere Cycle breaks down completely. The General was one of the best soldiers of his world, rising from the ranks of a private through Officer School to the highest command with honors. But when his world faced a zombie apocalypse, even that was not enough and he had to make the ultimate sacrifice. Now he is asked for a repeat performance of planning and controlling a dungeon and its spawns in a world that he knows nothing about… But what is the Sphere really? What is that [Xenotic conversion] he has to go through to even enter the Sphere? Something is really strange and he will have to find out what is going on to get to his promised rewards – whatever they will be. Being a soul in a dungeon core means that the General has better chances of finding hints to the truth about the sphere – a knowledge that would help him survive. And no, the sphere is NOT a virtual reality – the key to its secrets is the place where it was physically constructed (Author’s hint). This is a dungeon core story - but there are quite a number of things that I will do differently than common to those stories. 1) I will describe the floors when they are explored, NOT when they are build. Yes, that will mean it will take longer to get to those parts - but I think describing floors both when they are build and when they are explored destroys quite a lot of chances for suspense when adventurers enter the dungeon. After all, if you as the reader already know where the traps are, then you can't really be surprised when the surfacers encounter them. 2) How the world works (and how not) is an integral part of the story, so it will be explained I'm a world-builder first and the Sphere is NOT a regular world (as hinted in the synopsis above). Things will work differently than in your 08/15 default dungeon core stories - as the General and Gunny have already learned in the second arc (and more of that is already scheduled for the next weeks (July/Aug 2019) when the Sky Arrows continue to explore and evaluate that strange dungeon) If you don't like these premises, then I'm sure you'll find a lot of other Dungeon Core stories more to your liking. But if you are interested in more than "Dungeon builds another room and corridor in medieval earth" and are not afraid of a longer and slower story, then go on. I have two more stories in the Sphere, although they both have lower priority than this one: Shaleen the Wanderer (Adventurer, NSFW) (currently on hold after some chapters) Info's on the Sphere (System Docu and Short Stories) (irregular updates when needed) Current Status reports have been moved to a new discord server: https://discord.gg/EaHkXCfm9y
8 84Keter
They called him "Keter"; The Top-Most; The Crown. An unsurpassable, unstoppable, unkillable soldier. Etched with a twisted set of morals and studded by an impossible drive for lachesism, Keter terrorized the world for ages. But time, you see, is a most patient thing. As sure as it gives, so does it take. Even the Crown saw the eternal spindle drawing on him. He blinked, for the last time, and saw a world anew. Synopsis. So, basically, I’ve gotten tired of all these stale mcs that keep popping up left right and center. Either they are painstakingly good-natured or horribly written ‘evil’ characters. So, here’s my take on the concept of a Villain. Someone ruthless, cunning, and not shy of seeking darker means to an end. Hell, as long as it’s effective, he’ll prefer the blacker side of business. The new world will be, like many others, one in a medieval-type setting with traces of magic and the like; though I hope to make better use of this than most others who simply steal ideas from classical novels or other sources.
