《Oh Captain My Captain! (Haikyuu)》Chapter 15

"Rude manners wont land you a husband, neither will hanging around grown men. Wouldn't want people getting the wrong thoughts about you" she snapped back. Her words stung, nearly bringing tears to your eyes.
"Tempt me and ill make him your new son in law" You said through gritted teeth, trying to smile even though you wanted to flip the table. Everyone was frozen in fear, never having seen you this angry. Kenma's hand reached for yours holding it tightly, he could feel your body shaking with rage. You looked towards him noticing he also looked a bit scared.
"Sorry everyone, guess I woke up on the wrong side of the Tsukki" you joked trying to push the anger deep back down not wanting to ruin every ones day.
"I forgive you" your mother said smiling and going back to her line of questioning.
It took every ounce of will power you had to not yell and scream at her. That apology wasn't meant for her, neither would you apologize to her again for her being inappropriate and rude. Just one more day you kept telling yourself. They would be leaving tomorrow afternoon on a plane back to America and Hopefully wouldn't be returning till the holidays.
Everyone but your mother was quiet through the rest of dinner, she kept asking everyone a million questions that your friends graciously answered. When everyone was finally done, they helped clear the table, several of them leaving shortly after.
"Well I better be going" Ukai said standing. "I've got a shift tonight at the store, and need to make a few more arrangements for the training camp coming up. I will see all of you on Monday" he said giving everyone a quick wave. He shook your parents hands thanking them for the food and started heading towards the door.
"I'll walk you out" you said jumping up from your chair and following him outside to his car. "I'm sorry this day was so awful, should've picked a better day for you to come over and hangout I guess. Hopefully you'll give me a redo" you tried to smile.
"I wouldn't say this day was awful, I had a lot of fun. Dinner got a little tense but the time alone with you... now that was perfect." He smiled.

"But we got interrupted?" you looked at him confused.
"I know and I think that was for the best. As much as I really enjoyed it and wanted to do sooooo much more, its better we didn't. Your Mother wouldn't be the only one with those opinions of us and that would just be hard on you and that's not what I want. Thank you for standing up for me though, It was so hard not to laugh when you said id be her new son in law" he started chuckling.
"She should count herself lucky if that were the case. Even though this feels like a rejection, thank you. Your age isn't a problem for me, its not illegal here or even something I would consider taboo but I know others would, and I just really want to live my life and have fun. Having to defend my actions constantly isn't fun and if people were to be hateful towards you about it.... Well I really wouldn't want that" you couldn't keep the frown from your face.
"I wouldn't want that either. Go have fun and don't let people bring you down for that. Goodnight Beautiful, ill see you on Monday" he kissed your cheek getting into his car and driving away.
Heading back inside you found the rest of the group chilling in the game room. You walked in throwing yourself onto the couch resting your head in Kenma's lap.
"Are you okay y/n?" Suga asked.
"I can see what you meant earlier in the pool" Kuroo said.
"Yea i'm fine, sorry I lost my temper." You sat up "Its just hard because half the time she acts like she loves the life I live and wants to know everything about it, but then she uses that information against me, trying to bring me down and make me feel badly about who I am or who I choose to be." You groaned covering your face with your hands.
"Its okay, I would've been upset too. That comment about Coach nearly made me lose it though, I hade to bite my cheek hard to keep from laughing" Suga joked making everyone laugh.
"Yea sorry about that too, that probably just made everything more uncomfortable. It was just the thing I knew would shock her more than anything. I wanted to say something much worse but felt like it might make him uncomfortable or hurt someone feelings so I kept that one to myself." You said glancing up to Daichi then Kuroo.

"I think it would be cool if you married coach" Hinata shrugged. "You could coach the girls team and both of you could lead everyone to Nationals, would be awesome" his eyes sparkled at the thought.
"No i'm going to marry her" Kenma said resting his head on your shoulder making you blush.
"Nope i'm going to marry the Goddess!" Noya said thumping Kenma's forehead. He raised his head from your shoulder, rubbing at the small red mark that formed.
"I'm obviously going to marry Suga, my mom already thinks were sleeping together and he bakes, hard to get better than that" you started laughing.
"I appreciate that but I don't think i'm the one for you" he laughed.
"Ouch, let a girl down easy!" you said and everyone started laughing. "Anyways I know today has been weird but i did want to say if anyone wants to stay the night they can. I'll probably just have everyone stay in my room away from them" you said pointing towards where you thought your parents might be.
"I'll stay" Kenma said very softly.
"Does that mean you'll stay too Kuroo?" you locked eyes with him, you knew he would normally say yes but you still needed to apologize for hurting his feelings earlier.
"Of course, where Kenma goes I go"
"I'm actually going to go and take Hinata home since he lives so far" Suga said.
"Noya and I have plans with my sister tomorrow, so were going to go also" Tanaka said.
"Daichi?" you looked at him.
Your mom walked into the room before he got the chance to answer. "Alright boys I think its time for you to all head home. I want some time with my daughter before we leave tomorrow afternoon" she said clapping her hands together.
"Well Kuroo and Kenma are staying the night, they live pretty far. I was also just asking Daichi if he wanted to stay before you interrupted." You tried to keep your temper in check.
"I don't want a lot of rowdy boys staying the night y/n. We have to be up early to pack and head for the airport." She huffed.
"Fine Mother, sorry guys" you said looking at Kuroo and Kenma. "Daichi can I come stay with you tonight?"
"Why would you do that?" your mother asked rather upset.
"Because I don't want to stay here tonight if they cant, and he lives close enough I can still be here to say goodbye before you leave" you explained clenching your fists. "Ill walk everyone out and then we can leave if that's okay Daichi" you said turning back towards him.
"O-of course" he nodded his head.
You stood up and everyone followed you outside. Noya and Tanaka had a short distance to walk so you gave each of them a hug, thanking them for being there for you today. Suga and Hinata left next waving happily from the car as they pulled out, leaving Kuroo and Kenma as last. Kenma gave you a hug and a sweet kiss on the cheek before heading to the passenger seat of Kuroo's car.
"You could've stayed with me you know" Kuroo said.
"I know but if I decide to see them off, id have to drive all the way back here. I'll stay with you another time if you want" you smiled at him. "Also, I wanted to apologize for earlier, I felt like I hurt your feelings and that wasn't my intention." You stood on your tippy toes giving him a quick kiss.
"That's okay, It was unfair of me to ask. I was just in a weird mood, I got that you were upset with me when you went to Tsukki." He laughed. He got in the car blew a kiss and drove off.
You quickly went inside grabbing your purse and house keys, grabbed Daichi's hand and headed off towards his house.
When morning came the next day you made the decision to not go to say goodbye, they called several times so you simply turned your phone off. They didn't deserve the energy after how they had acted and treated your friends. You went home shortly after they left and crawled into bed, counting down the days till Training camp when you would be with everyone again.
