I was beyond comfortable, so at ease with myself and the situation I was in.
To be honest, I was so comfortable that I never wished to wake up. But by now I pretty much won't be able to enjoy the moment any further.
...and just like that, all my senses of euphoria stop all at once at the sudden forceful shaking on my shoulder. I was left in a heavy sense of annoyance as the voice started to speak.
"Y/N. Wake up Y/N."
The voice itself sounded still a tad groggily, but it also seemed a bit in a panic.
Though I was too tired to care. I was up pretty late last night, so I wanted and desperately needed to catch a few more z's.
"Fuck off... I'm tired.." I managed to say to the voice.
I then buried myself into what I assumed was one of the couch's cushions, trying to hide myself from the now noticeable sunlight.
Like- bruv, I feel like I could just sink into this couch and disappear. That's what I want right now.
I'm just too comfortable...
The voice let out a scoff.
"Y/N- seriously, wake up."
I shook my head, and tiredly moved my hand onto the side of my head, somehow managing to throw up the middle finger to the voice.
"Flip me off all you want-- but you really need to get up."
"nu..!"
"We're running late, Y/N!"
At the shout, my eyes shot open. I instantly winced at the amount of sun there was. As my eyes settled more on my surroundings, I was laying on the couch with a blanket hanging loosely over my shoulders.
And along with that, Tommy was crouched down beside the couch.
So... he was the one who woke me up.
Just by looking at him, I could tell he just woke up too. His bedhead wasn't as noticeable as mine, but it was still here.
My mind was still processing some things, so only down was I registering what Tom told me about 'running late'.
"...you mean classes? right?" I asked him, "...we have time."

"Oh really? Check your phone then."
I did as he said, mocking him a bit for what I thought was his stupidity.
But as soon as I turned on my phone and checked the lock screen.
.
.
.
.
Fuck.
I instantly stood up, feeling my legs wobble beneath, so I ended up having to steady myself by holding onto Tom's shoulder.
After gaining balance, I let go and started walking off.
"Let's get going then..!" I told him, trying to comb my hair with my fingers to at least make it look presentable.
The two of us went through the morning trying to prepare as quickly as we can before heading to college.
More problems and thoughts scrobbled through my mind in these moments.
We don't have long until school starts-- are we going to have to just run to school? ...Weren't we suppose to email the video to our teacher?-- does that mean we'll have to give in that USB stick? oh gosh.. I don't have a change of clothes--
---wait.
"I.. don't have a change of clothes..."
I simply stood there, dejected and at a loss.
Am I really going to go to school wearing something like... this? I have a mask at the very least, but still.. this?
My attire wasn't that bad, but I still would prefer to change.
"Here, I got you covered-" Tom says, tossing a hoodie as he walks passed me.
Upon seeing the clothing, my body moved on instinct ended up catching it on the fall.
"oh shi- thanks!"
I quickly start sliding the hoodie over my head, and only when I got to the half way mark was when I finally realized what just happened.
wait... this is...
I snapped out of my thoughts and finished putting the hoodie on, leaving the house and quickly followed after Tommy.
And the two of us ended up running down in the direction of the bus stop.
So... we're taking the bus..
Running to the school from this distance would actually be the worst case- so a good thought on Tom's part... that or he's still tired and not bothered to run to school.

After running for a bit, I started matching my pace with Tom's... and he isn't bad for a gamer boy.
But... I still felt like I could out run him if I wanted to.
"I could always carry you, I'm sure we'd get to the bus stop a lot more faster..!" I told him.
"HA-! Like I'm going to let you carry me! It should be the other way around..!" Tom said, grinning.
..As much as I wanted to jokingly jump into his arms, I don't really wanna run all the way to campus and turn up to class as a sweating pig. So- I'll focus on running for now.
Miraculously the two of us ended up getting to the bus stop on time-- and I think I slept on the bus ride? Mainly because I remember Tom waking me up a second time and dragging me to our class-- think he also was scolding me.
Sometimes I don't know whether Tom see's me as a friend, something more, or just as an annoying sibling he has to look after on a daily.
Weirdly enough.. I could see it as all three.
As we got to class, Tom handed our teacher the USB stick. The teacher looked confused AF as Tom explained our dilemma to them-- it was a very interesting time.
Class went on for a little bit, and then our teacher let our class off for an early free period. Apparently they were gonna review all the videos in one sitting, so we would have to come back to classes during the afternoon.
Now that was... just fantastic. I praise.. -whatever gods are out there-- for giving us this opportunity.
After our free period was announced, the entire class pretty much left in a hurry-- probably wanting to spend their breaks doing whatever as much as possible.
I was about to head out to do my own thing, but a hand grabbed my wrist. I turned around and saw Tom.
"So- uhh... hey, Y/N?" He stared down at me, not letting go of my wrist.
I eyed him curiously.
"Yeah? What is it?"
For a moment his eyes begin to dart around, seeming to contemplate whatever he was thinking about doing or saying.
After a while, he clears his throat and begins to speak as clear as he could.
"If you have nothing else to do... do you maybe want to hang out with me and my friends?"
The offer surprised me a tad.
Was he really inviting me?
It caught me a little off guard. Originally I was planning to just go find a quiet spot in the school to relax at... but this offer is putting me on the fence.
Spend time with Tommy... and co.... or do I want to have some 'me' time..?
The decision was one of the hardest I'll ever make...
"Not today, innit. I actually want to spend this free period alone. Maybe search the rest of the school..." I answer him.
As much as I wanted to spend time with Tom, I did already plan ahead.
(plus, the writer didn't know how to write Tommy and friends--)
"Oh, yeah. Alright, fair enough." Tom shrugs off.
"....plus. Spending more time with the likes of you?" I started grinning, "I already spent the whole night...!"
At this, Tom finally let go of my wrist. He seemed to have gotten a little more antsy.
"--uhh... y- yeah, yeah.." He says quietly, "..sorry about falling asleep."
Is he really apologizing for that??
"Nah, it's all good. I might've gotten bad back posture, but relatively I was comfortable." I joked with him, "...and not to mention, you slept like an angel..!"
He rolled his eyes playfully.
"Okay, okay- I'm leaving now-" He says, "If you somehow change your mind, we'll be in the cafeteria."
"Alrigghhttt..! See you in class, Tom." I saluted him.
"Yeah, see you" He awkwardly salutes me back.
And with that, the two of us went our own separate ways.
Him to the cafe, and me to wherever my instincts told me to go.
