«i don't wanna lose my spot»

"Talk to him."

Seojun instantly shook his head and aggressively moved the claw machine handle, attempting to win a stuffed animal only for him to fail for the third time.

Seojun rested his head on the glass screen and sighed, "I should've just went home," he muttered.

I ignored him and looked around. Sua and Sujin were near a Pac-Man machine, Suho had a bag of popcorn and was walking over to Jukyung, who was playing one of those car games.

"I can't stand him," I heard from behind me.

Seojun had his eyes fixated on Suho and Jukyung. Anyone could sense the jealousy coming from him. Seojun's jaw was clenched and I could see him curling his fist tightly. I nudged his elbow to gather his attention.

My head bobbed towards Suho, "what happened between you two?"

"It's personal," Seojun responded. He left me standing all by myself and marched over to Jukyung, who was grabbing some of the popcorn Suho offered her.

Jukyung glanced at Seojun as she was scarfing down the popcorn, "you didn't win anything from the claw machine?" she asked him.

Suho laughed, "guess you're not so good at it," he poked fun at an already upset Seojun.

"I was stressed out," Seojun quickly defended himself. He shot Suho a glare before looking at the snack he had in his hand. Seojun immediately dug his fingers in the popcorn bag and shoved a handful into his mouth.

Suho nearly slapped his hand away, "why didn't you ask me first?"

"Because I don't have to," he scoffed.

Suddenly Sua pulled Jukyung away from the two boys and nervously chuckled, "let's go get some pizza," dragging her over to the food booth as Jukyung attempted to get some words out.

I walked up to Suho and Seojun after being left stranded at the claw machine. Suho gave me a soft smile before apologizing, "I'm sorry I didn't get you a gift for your birthday."

Before I could even respond, Seojun decided to speak for me, "you two aren't even friends," he pointed out, "why not just give her the usual strawberry milk and cookies?" Seojun poked fun at him.

Suho had an emotionless expression, "you're annoying."

Seojun didn't stop there. He carried on belittling Suho, "you think she likes you back?" he asked rudely, "if you ever manage to date Yeeun, her mom won't like you as much as me," Seojun laughed.

"And," he continued, "you didn't even know it was her birthday," shooting a finger to me, "I knew it was her birthday because of her ," bragging about the fact that he has a close relationship with my mother.

Suho stepped up to him, "and how would her mom feel if she found out you were getting physical with her daughter?" he sneered as he stayed with that same dead facial expression.

The two boys went back to their bickering ways before being cut off by Sua and her box of pizza. She placed the food on a squared table with just enough seats for all six of us before clapping her hands happily.

"Let's eat!"

It was the worst birthday celebration I have ever experienced. Seojun had all his attention on Jukyung, who seemed to be enjoying it, and I had to pretend I wasn't bothered by it at all.

I mean, if it was your birthday and you were being ignored, then obviously you would be annoyed, right?

"Let's walk home together," I overheard Seojun say, "we walk in the same direction anyways."

For a second I thought he was speaking to me, but his body was facing Jukyung. She shyly nodded and they both swiftly exited the arcade without any goodbyes.

The thought of Seojun confessing to her overtook my mind and I couldn't help but squeeze my fists tightly. The tension left my body when I felt a hand on my shoulder.

I turned around and nearly bumped into Suho's chest. Our eyes met once I lifted my head to look at him, and I watched as he licked his lips before speaking.

"It's dark outside," he pointed to the Arcade windows, "I'll walk you home."

I hesitated for a moment before agreeing, "sure," his mouth lifted into a smile and he walked past me to open the door, waiting for me to join him. I swung my book bag over my shoulder and walked outside.

Suho followed behind and hurried his footsteps to reach me as I was a speeding up my pace so I can get home faster. We both walked in silence since I wasn't in the mood to even start a conversation with somebody .

Suho somehow noticed my frown and attempted to cheer me up, "you look pretty with bangs," he complimented my appearance as he combed my hair with his fingers.

My cheeks turned a bright red and I lowered my head so he wouldn't see my reaction, "thank you," I responded shyly.

He looked down for a few moments before lifting it again to face me, it was obvious to anyone that Suho seemed nervous about something. I glanced at him and I could see a tint of redness on his cheeks.

"Yeeun," he said, "let's go out to eat tomorrow," Suho stopped his footsteps as he waited for a response from me.

I nodded, "okay," and a tiny smiled appeared on his lips after I agreed to his invite.

Suho always seemed to be happy whenever we had the chance to spend time together. But I had a gut feeling that it was wrong of me to do that. Maybe Seojun was right. Suho does have feelings for me, but I don't.

"There's a fried chicken place around here," he said.

My head turned towards him as I immediately knew about the restaurant he was talking about, "are you talking about Eunji's Spot?" his face lit up as he bobbed his head to my response.

We spent the way home chatting about our favorite dishes. Turns out Suho has a thing for cooking. I, on the other hand, didn't have any interesting hobbies. All I did was spend my time studying.

Despite being with Suho, I found myself thinking of Seojun. Even when I arrived home, my brain somehow imagined Seojun being the one to drop me off. I spent the night thinking about what could've possibly happened between Seojun and Jukyung. Did he confess? Maybe. Maybe not.

I woke up from my slumber and immediately began dressing myself up for school. My hair was styled into a half ponytail and my face had much more makeup than usual. I couldn't figure out why I tried so hard on my appearance though, this was the first time I actually wanted to make myself look as presentable as possible for school.

I spent the next few hours either chatting with Sua or keeping quiet. I caught myself constantly glancing around the classroom for some reason. My brain wasn't even able to pay attention to any of the teachers because I somehow kept spacing out.

Once it was time to be dismissed, I instantly looked for Suho and found him staring at me. My cheeks heated up and I combed a strand of hair with my fingers.

"What's up with you?" I spun around and came face to face with Seojun. He had a smirk on his lips as his eyes scanned me up and down, "why do you look so pretty today?"

I scrunched my eyebrows together, "do you have a problem with that?"

He shrugged his shoulders and chuckled, "I never said that. But," Seojun spoke as he yanked a strand of my hair, "who are you trying to impress?"

"No-nobody," I stuttered after pushing him away from me. Seojun sensed something was up and released another chuckle, "why are you nervous?" he leaned in close to my face, "did you move on from me that fast?"

My eyes widened as I punched him hard on his chest, "no! Stop saying that!"

Seojun held his arms up in self defense and took a few steps back, "it's a joke!" he shouted, "stop hitting me!" he shoved my hands away and glared.

Seojun kept his gaze on me for a few moments before attempting to curse me out, "You crazy bi..." he stopped himself and peeked behind my shoulder.

Confused, I spun around to see what he was looking at and nearly crashed into Suho as he stopped his footsteps once he reached the both of us.

Suho glanced at me and smiled, "let's go to the restaurant," completely ignoring Seojun's presence until he stopped him from walking away.

Seojun swayed a finger at the both of us, "are you two going on a date?" he joked.

The atmosphere turned tense once Suho gave a smirk before nodding, "Yeeun and I going on a date," he sneered to Seojun as he walked over to the door and patiently waited for me to follow him.

My eyes widened as I could only stand there in confusion. I looked over to Seojun and saw his smile vanish, as if his happy mood was ruined. He caught me staring at him and immediately plastered a grin on his face. Seojun put an arm over my shoulder and bobbed his head towards Suho, "I knew you two would become a thing," he poked fun at me.

He chuckled once more before patting my back aggressively, "have fun on your date," teasing me as I shot him an annoyed look. Seojun walked away with that smug smile on his face and I couldn't help but he bothered by his reaction.

Han Seojun. Why doesn't any of this bother you? I wish you would get into arguments with Suho. Like that one time he asked me over to his house. It was an act obviously, but it made me fall for you even more when you showed your jealousy.
