Chapter Six; Dance Party.
Eden collapsed onto the ground, she felt around her just to make sure it was the ground. She cried out when she tried to stand, a chunk of skin was missing from her thigh. They had apperated and while everyone else was unharmed, she had splintched.
'Eden!' Newt shouted rushing towards her, 'Oh, dear...'
Jacob stared down at her before gagging as he noticed Eden's wound, he quickly apologized for it moments later which made Eden chuckle through the pain.
'Can you walk?' Newt asked, 'Or at least try to?'
Eden grunted trying to stand up once more but failed, she shook her head holding the wounded leg. Newt told Jacob to open his briefcase, as soon as he did Newt carefully lifted Eden up and carried her into the case, Eden winced as her legs bounced every time he took a step down the old wooden stairs. He set her down on a chair by a desk before running back up, she could hear both Newt and Jacob's voice as the case slammed shut, the locks clicking together. Eden panicked as Newt came back into view, she was never a fan of tight spaces.
'Stay still.' His voice was quiet. He rushed over moving the chair with Eden in it across the small shed like room and began rummaging through the desk. 'This should help.' He said taking out a small vile of liquid.
'Will it hurt?' She asked, 'I mean, more then it does now?'
'It will sting.' Newt nodded, 'How badly does it hurt at the moment?'
'I feel as if I could pass out.'
Newt' eyes widen as he uncorked the lid and poured the liquid all over to gash, Eden clenched her teeth as the stinging sensation took over. With her eyes closed she could feel the wound disappear as if it was never there, when she opened her eyes only a small scar remained.

'Thank you.' She looked over at him, he was placing everything back into the desk he had out a few moments earlier. 'Where is Jacob?' She asked curiously.
'He's walking towards Central Park with my briefcase, that way we make better time.' He shrugged, grabbing a few things.
Eden nodded as she sprung to her feet, her knee buckled at the sudden weight but she steadied herself.
'Sit back down, I'm not done healing you yet.' Newt said, she groaned sitting back down onto the uncomfortable desk chair.
'What haven't you healed yet?' She asked.
'Well, when you decided to throw yourself out of a window, glass shards decided to get back at you and impale you in many areas.'
Eden just nodded and waited until Newt fixed her all up, she smiled and thanked him many times before being dragged back up the stairs. Newt knocked three times on the lid of the case before it opened, Jacob smiled down at the two.
'You're healed!' He smiled, 'Good thing too because you were not looking very well.'
'Thank you, Jacob and your many ways to attempt to make me feel better.'
He bowed awkwardly before Newt slammed the lid shut, he quickly picked his case back up and started walking in a random direction. Eden looked around, they were standing at the entrance to Central Park and Newt was going in the direction of a broken bridge.
'Are you guys coming or not?' He smiled walking backwards, his smile only faded as he came in contact with a light post. Eden laughed with a shake of her head, he was such an idiot. He glared at her before running up to her and dragging her towards the broken bridge with Jacob trailing behind.
'Am I the only one worried about this?' He asked, 'I mean, anything that destroyed that bridge isn't something I want to face.'

'You will be fine!' Eden smiled at him as they all came to a stop, Newt put his case down and flipped open the lock. Eden watched as Newt pulled out a breastplate and a helmet, he handed them to a frightened Jacob.
'Why do I need this?' He asked as Newt helped him put the armour on.
'Don't worry.' Was all Newt said as he locked up his case again.
'Has anyone ever listened to you when you told them not to worry?'
'My philosophy is that worrying means you suffer twice!' Newt beamed racing towards the open green field. Eden smiled at Jacob before racing after Newt.
'Hey!' She shouted, 'You never gave me my wand back!'
Newt pulled something out of his pocket and threw it over his shoulder, Eden yelped as she caught it mid air.
'You little git!' Eden cried, 'What if you broke it, huh? What would you do then?'
Newt ignored her and kept running, while her and Jacob kept following. Wind whipped Eden's hair around, she grunted attempting to keep it away from her face. A loud sound echoed through the empty park, what sounded like hooves bounced around the air. Eden watched Newt's reaction to see if he knew what creature this was, he noticed her staring then gave a quick nod before turning the corner. When Jacob and Eden joined Newt, they were both shocked. A giant Erumpent stood not to far away, the creature was swaying its head around in amusement. Newt walked closer to the creature, he bent down and placed his case on the ground before clicking it open quietly.
'How are you going to catch it?' Jacob asked, still shocked.
'A little thing called Erumpent Musk.' Newt replied, 'It's mating season and this will get her to listen to me.'
Jacob nodded watching Newt put some on his wrists, when he finished he handed the veil to him and explained how incredible intoxicating it is to the Erumpent, do not spill it was his final warning. Eden chuckled when Newt walked closer to the Erumpent, once getting its attention he crouched down holding the back of his coat up. Eden knew what was coming, she'd seen it many times before and even joined in once. Newt cupped his hands over his mouth and began making noises and sounds that could make anyone die of laughter, adding to the noises he danced around the creature asking for its attention. When it finally noticed Newt the Erumpent only stared at him in awe, the dance and musk had to be working.
'Eden.' He called out, 'Some help please?'
Eden shook her head with a laugh, 'I will never to that mating ritual ever again, I've told you this before.'
'Please?' He asking panting, she laughed at him before walking up closer to the creature. She watched Newt to see where he was in the ritual before joining in. She felt like an idiot during the entire thing, when the Erumpent finally began rolling towards the open case she sighed with relief. Newt kept beckoning the creature forward when something shattered behind them, Eden, Newt and the creatures eyes were all on Jacob. He stood there trying to act all innocent until they noticed the green mist was coming off of him, he only had a few seconds to start running as the Erumpent charged after him.
Newt groaned quickly locking the case up, he grabbed Eden's hand and they both took of running.
'So much for our dance party.' Eden mumbled, Newt smiled and laughed at her as they disappeared under the crumpling bridge after Jacob.

A Universe of Bloody Evolution
The Void was never meant to be opened to the Multiverse. The horrors waiting inside it should have never seen the light. And yet, the biggest mistake in the history of creation led to the impossible. In an event later known as the Outbreak, gates appeared in the first Universe, and with them, the Void was free. For ages the Void destroyed universe after universe, spreading its power in every direction, leaving only death and pain behind. But before every Universe met its end, it still had a chance. A small part of the population that survived the initial Outbreak and was granted a mysterious System to help them fight against the dangers that came from the Void. They were the Multiverse's last hope even if they couldn't stop the collapse of their own world. And so the cycle continued until the 36th Outbreak came. Leo Hale, a young reporter from Wolford, was one of the lucky ones to survive when the majority of Earth's population turned into monsters straight out of nightmares. Thrust into a constant battle for his life, Leo was determined to push forward and find his remaining family. Even if it meant sacrificing what was left of his humanity. After all, you either adapt or die. Story of progression and evolution with my take at the post-apocalyptic genre. Unlike most monster evolution stories where the monster rushes to gain human form, here I plan to do something quite the opposite. After all, in a world where almost everything wants to kill you, being human can be hard. Warnings are here to give me the freedom to write whatever is necessary. This is my first original novel. Also English isn't my native language so any feedback is welcome. Remember that even if initially this story takes place on Earth, fictional places, streets, etc will appear. Release Schedule: Monday - Wednesday - Friday Average chapter length: 2000-2500 words (There might be exceptions as is the case with some of the first chapters - most of them are longer.)
