In the first month that Newt had been back in England, he'd been able to send Tina a case of Occumy eggs to gift to Jacob in secret so he could start his bakery,

A gesture he felt he owed Jacob even if he couldn't remember them.

Regarding Evelyn the first thing he did was go to the Ministry of Magic but all they said they could do was 'look into it' as if it was her family as he suggested...

"it's not a crime for bringing your family member home" the minister said which utterly outraged Newt, much to his brother's dismay.

Theseus offered to do some research for him and this settled Newt slightly all though he still went to Albus Dumbledore, his old professor and old ally of Grindlewald.

Dumbledore was much more interested in the case than the ministry, having known Evelyn and her brother through school and the Lois's through darkly laced reputation.

Albus agreed Evelyn was most likely not in good hands if she'd returned home, but if her memory had been wiped from the venom, there was a high chance she'd been manipulated.

Alas Dumbledore agreed to help Newt find out more about the Lois's but he warned they are not ones easily targeted and just showing up wouldn't be an easy task.

Whilst this plan of action took place, anxiously too slowly for Newt's liking...

He decided to finish up his book and get it published as a way of distracting himself from the thought of Evelyn and the state she might be in...

He very much tried not to dwell on the fact she could very well not even know him.

Finding a connection and having it ripped away almost as quickly brought him a unusual pain inside.
