Newt appears from building top to building top following the Obscurus as best as he can.

"CREDENCE! Credence, I can help you." Newt shouts out to him honesty lacing his voice.

The Obscurus dives towards him causing him to diaapparate before he's hurt.

He continues to hop between rooftops continuing the chase, spells are being shot around him from the MACUSA Aurors.

The Obscurus moves frantically to avoid the spells, leaving black fuzzy particles in the air that drift across the city.

The obscures is screaming loudly as it turns down another block trying to escape.

It rises up and spreads out and then it crashes to the ground and races along a huge, deserted street destroying all that's in its path.

It's heading towards a Subway, not phased by the line of policemen with guns aimed towards it, it continues to pursue straight towards their frightened faces as they begin to open fire.

No bullet can stop it and they disband frantically fleeing down the street.

Newt has come to a halt on top of a tall building looking out as the Obscurus rises up into the sky spreading out, before slamming suddenly into the ground.

A pulsing, heavy breathing emanates from it.

Newt watches, as the black mass shrinks to nothing, and the small figure of Credence descends down into the subway station.

Newt Apparates into Subway, the walls have mosaic patterns that show signs of having been hurt by the Obscurus.

He approaches the edge of the platform at a distance, the Obscures pulsates and slides against the far side of the subway station tunnel.

-Outside The Subway-

Evelyn and Tina sneak past the Aurors that are currently creating an invisible dome around the subway.

They see Graves, who starts to take charge shouting "I don't want ANYONE else down there!"

Evelyn rolls her eyes looking at Tina.

She spots a opening just before the dome hits the ground, hastily she grabs Tina's hand and they roll under it quickly, the Aurors not suspecting a thing.

-Back inside the subway-

The Obscurus is gently swirling in the air above the train tracks as Newt hides behind a pillar and begins to speak softly.

"Credence — It's Credence, isn't it?"

Newt pauses for a moment then continues,

"I'm here to help you, Credence. I'm not here to hurt you."

Newt takes a step out from behind a pillar and jumps down onto the tracks.

Within the crazed black mess of the Obscurus he can make out Credence, hurting and scared.

"I've met someone just like you, Credence. A young girl who'd been imprisoned, she had been locked away and she'd been punished for her magic." Newt softly speaks to him, keeping his distance still.

As Credence listens the dark mass of the Obscurus melts away, leaving him huddled on the tracks like a small and frightened child.

Newt moves closer and crouches too as Credence looks at him a look that says 'help me' glazes his face.

"Credence, can I come over to you? Can I come over? " Newt asks keeping his tone soft still.

As he begins to move forward however, a sudden burst of light shoots at him throwing him backwards.

A stern and intense Graves marches down the tracks towards Credence.

Credence begins to run as Graves shoots more spells at Newt, who has taken cover off the tracks and behind the pillars.

Grabbing his wand Newt tries to retaliate, but his efforts are no use, Graves is too powerful.

Credence continues to take flight down the tracks but comes to a sudden halt, fear on his face as he see's a train approaching quickly.

He doesn't move, perhaps in fear or perhaps he just doesn't care to save himself.

Graves stops firing at Newt and focuses on magically moving Credence at a fast speed off of the train tracks as it passes quickly, gone as quick as it came.

Graves who now stands on the platform, continues to duel with Newt, who is back on the train tracks Credence cowered behind him.

-Back outside the subway-

Evelyn and Tina watch as muggles stare from outside the dome, in awe at the scenes before them.

A group at the front are eagerly taking photos whilst some others further back look bewildered and afraid.

Evelyn spots a way down into the subway but pauses as a train rushes past beneath them.

Once the tunnels I clear she descends down.

Tina follows as they climb down a cold steel ladder landing on the train tracks, darkness surrounds them as they hear the commotion between Newt, Graves and Credence ahead.

Carefully they proceed forward, wands gripped tightly in their hands, sounds of bricks crumbling can be heard as the subway tunnel gets destroyed further.

A loud crash is heard, Tina and Evelyn cover their ears, worry on their faces as they start to pick up the pace.

Another crash is heard, Tina and Evelyn can now see much clearer, in the short distance the Obscurus has crashed back down into the subway.

Evelyn gasps softly spotting Newt, he's hurt and lies on the tracks, Graves in a similar position, the Obscurus screaming around them.

"Tina, I think he'll listen to you" Evelyn quickly states looking towards her, she nods in response and they both run out of the dark tunnel.

"CREDENCE NO!" Tina shouts.

The Obscurus very slowly rises back up, moving far more gently.

Evelyn looks towards Newt, worry on her face as he musters out a small smile towards her.

"Don't do this—please." Tina says softly.

Newt takes his gaze from Evelyn and speaks..

"Keep talking, Tina. Keep talking to him, he'll listen to you. He's listening."

Tina saved Credence from a beating and showed him his first moment of kindness, he trusts her, he believes she can save him.

"I know what that woman did to you" Tina softly speaks to him, emotion on her face that shows she cares.

"I know that you've suffered, but you need to stop this now." She pauses as he continues to listen.

"Newt, Evelyn and I will protect you Credence" She says whilst Graves begins to get up onto his feet.

"This man" Tina starts pointing at Graves.

"He is using you." She speaks.

"Don't listen to her, Credence. I want you to be free." Graves darkly interrupts.

"It's all right." Evelyn softly says to Credence, she's behind Tina but wants to show she too cares.

The Obscurus starts to shrink, the mass of black becoming more human....more like Credence.

However, all at once Aurors begin rushing down the steps of the subway towards them.

More Aurors running out from behind Tina and Evelyn their wands held tightly and aggressively pointed at Credence.

"Shhh! Don't, you'll frighten him." Evelyn says to them urgency in her tone as the Obscurus lets out a noise and begins to grow bigger again.

Newt, Evelyn and Tina move to stand in front of Credence in an attempt to protect him, Newt searches for Evelyn's hand softly grasping her small one, wand in the other hand.

Graves is facing the Aurors, wand at the ready.

"Wands down! Anyone harms him—they'll answer to me!" He spits out aggressively.

But the Aurors don't listen and begin shooting the Obscurus with harmful spells.

Evelyn looks at Newt panic on her face as they ponder what to do.

The Obscures screams out in pain as the spells hit it, the three ducking to not get hurt.

Graves angrily watches the scene before him.

The Obscures implodes from the pressure, Tina, Newt and Evelyn are thrown backward as it disappears, black dust-like shapes scatter the air where it once was.

Newt gets to his feet, helping Evelyn up and hugging her tightly as she shakes softly, her heartbeat slows in his warm embrace, his face deep with grief needing her as much and she needs him.

Tina sits on the floor, crying looking around sadly at where Credence once was.

Graves, angrily climbing onto the platform.

"You fools." He spits at the Aurors.

"Do you realize what you've done? " Graves angrily spits again.
