《First Priority // Fantastic Beasts》The End

Two days had passed and the pair walked away from Hogwarts, the school they will always love and remember. The castle soon disappeared from their sight as the boy pulled out his wand and grabbed the girl before vanishing from school grounds.

They appeared at the train station as they had to take the station to Kings Cross before they could enter the Muggle world. The train had made a special stop to take the two home, special orders from Professor Dumbledore.

They boarded the empty train and sat in the very last compartment at the back of the train. The boy placed his case onto the table and kept his right hand placed on the top.

"I can't believe they let me keep my case" he sighed not breaking his focus from the object

"What use did they have for it? It's also your case so they don't have the right to keep or destroy it" the girl huffed as she played with the bottom of her maroon coat.

They both had stopped talking, both thinking about what would happen when they stepped off the train. A woman in her mid thirties stepped into their compartment dragging a cart full of treats behind her,

"Would you two like anything?" You could tell the smile plastered on her face was fake

"No thank you" the boy said politely

"By any chance do you serve tea?" the girl asked as her nerves began to kick in

The woman slowly nodded as she grew impatient,

"Peppermint?"

The woman poured a small cup of tea and pulled out a wand from her boot before taping the end of the white cup, she handed the girl her tea as she dropped a few coins into the woman's hand before she walked away.

"Peppermint? Are you okay?" He asked curiously

"Yup! Couldn't be better" she cheered loudly taking a long sip from the burning cup

The boy gave her a look before nudging her, he knew something was wrong.

"Mercy, is this about getting expelled?"

The girl have the slightest nod, "perhaps, a little, yes"

The boy looked at her again with the same look, he wasn't going to leave until she told him.

"I have no family to return too, Newt" she sighed taking another long sip of her tea

"What are you on about? Your mothers back at home, she is a wonderful woman, one of the best!" He smiled as he remembered the first time he met her

"Newt, she's dead"

He gave her a wild look, you could tell he was shocked but apart of him couldn't believe it.

"Pardon?" He mumbled

"She passed away a few weeks after you befriended Lestrange" she looked at him as his eyes softened

He shook his head and moved closer to the girl, she knew he felt sorry for her but she didn't need his pity. She didn't need to have a break down once again over her mother, she wouldn't want that.

"It's fine, really, I've moved on" she nodded trying to convince the boy

"How? When?" He uttered

She let out a long sigh, she didn't want to have this conversation.

"Can we not talk about this now? I promise I will tell you when I'm ready"

He nodded his head, she knew he understood what she was going through. The boy looked at his case and back at the girl with a new smile plastered on his face, he had an idea and she already knew it was probably going to be a stupid one.

"This reminds me... I'm planning on taking a trip" he looked at the girl hopefully

"mhm"

"Around the world! I've planned to write a book on Magical creatures so other wizards and witches can learn about them as their endangered"

"That's great" she told him

She knew eventually he would go his separate way, even as she tried so hard to get him to stay. This was the last time she was going to see Newt Scamander, she had already known he wanted an adventure that she could not deliver. This time, she was going to let fate do its job. She wasn't going to try and stop it, the world clearly didn't want Mercy Langton to be happy. After all, it had already taken away everything she cared about and it couldn't let one thing slide.

"I have everything planned out, first we would stay in London and then travel up to Ireland and so on! I have the map drawn out but it's somewhere in my case" his smile grew bigger

"We?" The girl almost spit out her tea

He looked at her puzzled until he realized he forgot to ask her an important question.

"Oh my, I've lost it haven't I?" He shook his head

"I was so busy planning all this for months I forgot to ask you if you'd like to join me"

She looked at him blankly, reality struck within her.

"Have you gone mad? How would we afford any of this?" She glared at the boy

"We are wizards, we went to the best school in the wizarding community and also I've had permission from Professor Dumbledore" he smiles proudly

"He said he will take care of it"

The girls glare instantly turned into the biggest smile as she practically jumped onto the boy with a big bear hug. She was so happy, she was going to travel the world with her best friend.

He wrapped his arms around her and let out a little laugh,

"I see your excited but I kinda need by bones to travel"

She quickly removed her knee from the boys gut, she backed away embarrassed at her sudden actions.

"Sorry" her face flushed a deep shade of pink as she fixed her crooked glasses

The pair sat in a comfortable silence until the train had reached their destination. They both got off the train dragging their luggage behind them but the boy had stopped dead in his tracks.

"Mercy" he hummed looking down at the girl

She nodded confused on why he stopped walking,

"Thank you for coming with me" he said

"Anything for you" she smiled

The boy looked into the girls eyes, he noticed that the brown in her eyes had become lighter since the last time he really looked at them. He felt his heart race a mile a minute as time felt it was moving in slow motion.

"Newt?" She asked worried

He nodded his head,

"You are the only adventure that I ever need" he smiled, he had wanted to tell the girl this for awhile now and he was glad he did

"Thank you for staying" she said as threw a cut piece of grass at the boys face

He instantly remembered the first time they had spoke for real, how they actually had a conversation together, the moment they really clicked. But, why in the world did she keep around a piece of grass? The boy ignored his thoughts, he just continued to stare down at the girl before saying one last thing.
