《I Need to Find You 》Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald》Fourteen

Leta led us through the small crypt. Ok, I know it's the Ancestral Records room but I couldn't help but think it's a crypt. With the statue of a dead body on the platform. All the small boxes that remind me of the urns they put the ashes in.
"You, go back. Move! Out of the way!" is the first thing I heard someone yell. Leta's eyes widen as she pulled out her wand and followed the voice. Tina pushed me behind her in a protective manner before going ahead of us. "If I must kill you as well as Corvus, I shall."
We turned the corner and found Kama pointing his wand at Jacob and Credence. My eyes widened before I felt myself get angry at the man threatening my friends. I was about to punch Kama but Newt grabbed my hand and yanked me back. I don't care if this guy is a wizard, he's was about to kill Credence and Jacob!
"Stop!" Letha told him. Her body got a bit tense as she stared at the man in front of her. "Yusuf." They know each other?
My mouth flew open as I looked at Credence. "Credence?" I breathed. Merlin's beard, we've finally found him.
"Alina," Credence whispered. He had a small smile on his face. I yanked my hand away from Newt and ran towards him, ignoring Leta and Yusuf's little stare down.
I ran into his arms and gave him a tight hug, him hugging back. He pulled me close before I let go and started to inspect him for any injuries. "Are you ok?" I sighed in relief when I found none and hugged him again. "Please, don't go running off like that again."
"I'm sorry."
I couldn't be mad at him. I've spent most of my life hating Credence for something he had no choice in. And now that he's back in my life, I'm not going to separate from him ever again.
"Is that really you?" Kama breathed as he lowered his wand. Credence and I turned to look at Leta and Yusuf. Leta looked like she was about to cry. "My little sister?"
"So he's your brother," Credence said. "Who am I?"
Leta shook her head. "I don't know," she told him sadly.
"I'm tired of living with no name and no history." Credence looked at Kama. "Just tell me my story, then you can end it."
My mouth flew open. "No, Credence -"

Kama cut me off. "Your story is our story." He looked at Leta. "Our story."
She shook her head immediately. "No, Yusuf."
Kama sighed before he went towards the main entrance of the crypt. We had no other choice but to follow him. I made sure Credence never left my sight while Newt was behind me. I'm sure the Nagini would help protect him, too. I really need to thank for after this is all over. Kama started talking towards one of the shelves as he started to explain his story.
"My father was Mustafa Kama," he started. "Pure-blood of Senegalese descent and most accomplished. My mother, Laurena, was equally highbred, a noted beauty. They were deeply in love.
"They knew a man of great influence from a famous French pure-blood family. He desired her. Lestrange used the Imperius Curse to seduce and abduct her. I tried to prevent it, but he attacked me. That was the last time I ever saw her. She died giving birth to a little girl."
Kama looked at Leta. "You."
Leta didn't look at anyone. She couldn't make eye contact. She looked like someone who was caught guilty of doing something and we were forcing her to tell us what it is. But she wasn't saying anything as she looked at her brother, who continued his story.
"The news of her death drove my father insane. With his dying breath, my father charged me to seek revenge. Kill the person Lestrange loves best in the world. I thought at first it'd be easy. He had only one close relative." He pointed at Leta again. "You. But he..." Kama stopped with a long sigh.
Leta didn't even look at him. "Say it," she said.
"He never loved you." Ouch. "He remarried, and not three months after her death. He loved her no more than he had loved you. But then his son, Corvus, was born at last. And that man who had never known love was filled with it. All he cared about was little Corvus."
So Credence is really Corvus?
"So this is the truth?" Credence asked. "I am Corvus Lestrange?"
Kama and Leta answered.
"Yes."
"No."
Kama looked at Leta. "Yes."
"No," Leta denied again.
I gave the two of them confused glances. Do they not know? Is Leta trying to deny the truth? Is there something more to it?
"Realizing the Mustafa Kama's son had sworn revenge, your father sought to hide you where I couldn't find you," Kama told Credence. "So he confided you to his servant, who boarded a ship for America."

Leta looked like she was on the verge of crying. "He did send Corvus to America, but -"
Kama interrupted her. Man, this guy is really rude. "His servant, Irma Dugard, was a half-elf. Her magic was weak, and therefore left no trace I could follow. I had only just discovered how you had escaped when I received news I never expected. The ship had gone down at sea. But you survived, didn't you?"
I didn't like the way Kama was looking at Credence. I moved away from Newt and stood in front of him. I reached back and grabbed his hand to show him I'm here and that no one is going to hurt him.
"Somehow, someone had pulled you from the water. A son cruelly banished. Despair of the daughter. Return, great avenger, with wings from the water." Kama motioned to Leta. "There stands the despairing daughter." I gripped Credence's hand as the Nagini stood next to us while Kama pointed at him. "You are the winged raven, returned from the sea, but I'm the avenger of my family's ruin. I pity you, Corvus. But you must die."
I gripped Credence's hand as he gripped mine as I moved to block Credence from this psycho.
"Corvus Lestrange is already dead! I killed him!" Leta screamed. Everyone's eyes were on her now. Leta couldn't help the tears that were falling from her face. "Accio!"
A small box fell from one of the shelves and landed on the floor. It started to open up to reveal a small family tree. The tree started to come out like a little pop-up book as the branches started to spread.
"My father owned a very strange family tree," Leta said. The flowers started to bloom next to the faces of the Lestrange line started to show. "It only recorded the men. The women in my family were recorded as flowers." At the very top right corner was a small drawing of a baby. The name Corvus written at the bottom. "Beautiful. Separate.
"My father sent me to America with Corvus. Irma was to pose as a grandmother with two grandchildren. Corvus never stopped crying."
Leta's fingers hovered over the baby photo.
"I never wanted to hurt him. I only wanted to be free of him. Just for a moment. Just a single moment."
Leta continued on with the story. She switched little Corvus with the baby from another room. Just then the boat was going to sink so they had to evacuate it. Since Leta switched the babies, someone else took Corvus. She saw as the lifeboats separated the family before a huge wave crashed into the one Corvus was on. Just as Leta was telling us her side of the story the picture of Corvus started to wither away with the flower. Leta slowly rose as she remembers the drowning baby.
"You didn't mean to do it, Leta," Newt told her softly. "So it wasn't your fault."
It wasn't. She didn't know that the boat was going to sink or that the huge wave was going to crash into the lifeboat Corvus was on. She was just a kid. She didn't know what was going to happen.
"Oh, Newt," Letha spoke. Her eyes bore into mine before she looked at him. "You never met a monster you couldn't love." Then she looked at me and something flashed into her eyes. I can't really explain it. It was like she wanted me to promise her to take good care of him.
"Leta..." I started. "Do you know who Credence really is? Did you know when you swapped them?"
I mean, if Credence isn't Corvus doesn't that make him the baby she switched Corvus with? I felt Credence grip my hand in anticipation.
Leta shook her head. "No."
Credence released my hand as he took in the news. My chest ached for him. He did all of this only for him to be back at square one.
"Credence, look at me," I said. I brought my hand up and caressed his cheek while he looked at me. All that emptiness is still in his eyes. "Hey. Hey. Just because you're not a Lestrange isn't a reason for you to give up. Your name is Credence Barebone, ok. You're my best friend. Nothing is going to change that." I started to rub his cheek. "We're going to find them, ok?"
Credence looked into my eyes and knows that I mean every single word. We had a little mishap but that doesn't mean we shouldn't stop trying. Credence's family is out there and we're going to find them.
I just wish that was the end of it but no. We heard a small rumbling noise before a secret door from the room started to open. I heard people cheering and clapping. I don't know what was going on. I let go of Credence and gave Newt a worried look.
What the hell is going on?

A Castle in a Teacup
One might say that to anger forces beyond the ken of fragile breakable mortals is a bad idea, others might say that meddling in dark forces with little chance of gain is also a bad idea, they would both be right by on all counts but they forget to mention also how incredibly stupid combining both of those things are. Stupid people don’t last so long on the mystic side of things, normal folks who wander over to the other side have a tendency to do one of two things, either A. figure out that the best thing to do is keep their head down and not draw attention from any entity that refers to humanity as “you mortals” , or B. something horrifying happens to them. As you may have guessed I fell into the second category, mostly because I thought there was a third option. See I though there must be an option C, an option where I got to end up not as some shitty back ally wizard cowering at the chance of discovery, praying that one of my wards or spells wouldn’t be noticed by something that goes bump in the night. No I would be the one who rose above all that. I would never have to be afraid. Well I made a good attempt at it that’s for damn sure, but unfortunately for me it turns out there is not an option C. At least not for me…
