I hate feeling this way. I really do. No matter how much I tried to hate Newt I can't hate him because I still care about him. I'm still in love with him so it hurts being next to him and remembering that he's engaged so I can't grab his hand or kiss him. No matter how much I want to, Newt deserves all the happiness in the world. So if his happiness is with Leta Lestrange than I need to be happy for him and not be selfish. That's what I need to do. Not be selfish and go back on track. Finding Credence.
It just amazes me that I'm actually going to see the French Ministry of Magic. I mean, breaking into the office...well if it's really called a break-in. Newt, Tina, and I were across the street forming some kind of plan. Tina suggested I turn around and go back with Jacob. I stood my ground and said no that this is for Credence. Sure, we might have argued but I still won at the end...with a bit of Newt's help by stating I know Credence better than anyone so maybe there's something he in the room that I might be familiar with. I don't know what it might be, but I didn't object. Tina gave me a sigh and told me to stay close to her. Which I nodded to. I hope we could actually find Credence's parents so I could slap the both of them for abandoning him.
Newt peaked around the corner before setting his case down. "The box is in the Ancestral Record room," he told us. "So it's three floors down."
Newt pulled out a small vial from his coat. "What's that?" I asked.
"It's Polyjuice," Tina answered.
Newt nodded in confirmation. "It's just enough to get me inside."
Newt drowned the potion in one go and started to groan. His head jerked from left to right. Newt kept groaning. I gave him a worried look and was going to grab him to see if he was ok but I stopped myself when his face started to change. His fringe was styled back. His facial features became...what's the word? Mature. More serious.
"Who the hell -" I started.
"It's my brother, Theseus," Newt said. "He's an Auror and a hugger."
I furrowed my brows as I took a good look. "That's Theseus?" Newt gave me a slow nod as his head slowly tilted. "I really don't see anything special about the golden boy."
Was Newt really the shadow of Mr. Perfect? I don't really see it. Sure, Theseus might be ok looking but he seems like he tries too hard to be the star of their family.
Newt's head snapped up at me in shock before letting out a small chuckle. "You'll be the first."
Newt turned around and went towards the building with Tina and me in tow. I'm not going to think about the troubles the two would be if someone realizes they brought a Muggle with them. Especially, since I'm supposed to forget about all of this.
We entered the building with no problem. People just let us walk by and greeted Newt...I mean Theseus. It's just so strange seeing another man wear Newt's clothes. Ok, I get it, it's still Newt but it's really weird. It's cool because there are potions that could do that. I mean...imagine the younger wizards using it to sneak into an R rated film. I know, dumb example, but it's the only one I could think of at the top of my head.

"Stay close to me," Tina whispered. "If anyone figures out you're not a -"
I nodded in understanding. "Yeah, I get it. People would realize how awesome I am and try to take that away." Tina gave me those serious looks. "I know. I might be obliviated again and we don't need to add that to our list of problems." I looked up as we walked through the lobby and found the real Theseus staring at us. "Speaking of..."
Newt grabbed my hand and started dragging me with him. I yanked my hand away and continued walking fast. I tried to ignore the hurtful look on Newt's face, which was really easy this time because it wasn't really Newt's face I had to stare at. So it's just plain weird that it's "Theseus" giving me the look. We turned the corner and Newt started to groan again.
"I don't suppose you can Disapparate on Ministry premises in France, can you?" he asked Tina.
"Nope," Tina spat out.
Newt started to grunt as his head jerked again. "Pity."
I gave him a worried look as his face kept flipping from Theseus back to his. "Newt!"
"Yes, I know. I know it's..." We stopped when there was a small pillar. Newt's face was plastered on it with Urgence repeated. I never took French but I'm guessing it's an emergency broadcast about Newt being here.
"Newt!" I heard Theseus shout behind us. Newt, Tina, and I started running. We kept looking back to make sure Theseus wasn't gaining on us, sadly he was. "Newt!"
"That's your brother?" Tina asked.
"So I think I may have mentioned in my letters that we have quite a complicated relationship," Newt rushed out.
"Newt, stop!" Theseus yelled.
"Does he wanna kill you?" Tina wondered.
Newt looked back. "Frequently."
"Wait," I panted as we continued to run. I looked at Tina. "You guys have been writing to each other?"
"This was before you got your memories back," Tina explained herself. "It was just a conversation. Nothing else, I promise you. Just the usual."
"It's complete innocence," Newt added. "Everything I've wrote to her, I wrote to you." Newt wrote to me? I can't even think straight with Theseus following us. I stopped and hid behind one of the pillars. Newt looked back at me. "Alina -"
I motioned for them to go. "I have an idea. Go." I wanted them to run but they weren't. They're just standing there. "I'll be there. Go!"
"Newt!" Theseus called again. Tina grabbed Newt and dragged him away. I have a plan. I just hope it works.
I heard his footsteps coming closer. I peaked around the corner before coming out of my hiding place and punched Theseus in the face. Theseus staggered back as I shook my hand but he quickly regained his posture.
"Alina!" Newt called out. I shook my hand as Theseus looked up at me in shock. My eyes widened as I turned around and started running.
I ran through the doors as Newt and Tina were coming towards me. Tina pulled her wand out and pointed it at me.
"Alina, duck!" Tina shouted.
I listened. I dove between the two guys pushing the book cart as this light bounced off Tina's wand. I looked back as the light hit Theseus and it thrusted him back to a chair. His hands were tied behind his back as the chair started to wheel back. I heard Newt let out another chuckle.

"Theseus getting punched and tied up," he started. "I think that might have been the best moment in my life."
Tina rushed over and helped me up. "That was your plan? Punching him in the face?" she asked.
I shrugged before we walked away this time. "That's how Jacob and I escaped Newt when we first met. I thought it might work again."
"I think I still have the bruise," Newt mumbled as we walked towards the receptionist desk. We recomposed ourselves.
The lady gave us a friendly smile as she spoke in French. Man, I really need to take some lessons.
Newt pointed at me. "Yes, this is Leta Lestrange," he said. I gave him a look before I smiled at the old lady. "And, uh, I'm her -"
"Fiance," I finished for him. I made sure not to snap at him for that lie. Out of me and Tina, why didn't he say Tina's Leta. What if I need to use a spell as some form of clarification?
The lady looked at Tina. "This is our apprentice...Tiffany," Newt rushed out.
Tina nodded. "Yes, I'm their apprentice."
The lady looked at all of us before she had a smile on her face. I had no idea what she said but I guess we were allowed to go in when Tina and Newt nodded at her.
"Thank you," they said.
The lady tilted her head and smiled at me. I gave her an awkard one back before I followed the wizards. I stood in the middle of the two as the door started to open. Newt tried to grab my hand again but I yanked it away and held them behind my back.
"Alina, about that fiancee business -"Newt started.
I cut him off. "I'm sorry. I forgot to congratulate you."
"No, that's -"
Tina interrupted him by holding her wand up. "Lumos," she casted. A small ball of light started to float around us, which I'm glad for the distraction. "Lestrange."
The ball of light started flying down the shelves. Tina and I started to follow it.
"Alina, about Leta -" Newt tried.
"Yes, I've just said I'm happy for you," I stopped him. I don't want to hear how he fell in love with her.
"No, I don't...Please, don't be happy." Newt grabbed my arm to stop me. I gave him a look when he told me not to be happy. "No. Sorry. I don't...Obviously I..." Newt dropped his wand. He reached down and picked it up. Tina gave me a look to see if she should do something but I told her no. She nodded before she started to follow the small light. "Obviously, I want you to be...And I hear that you are now because I thought it was the obliviation. Which is wonderful." I gave him another confused look. "Sorry, what I'm trying to say is, I want you to be happy, but I don't want you to be happy that I'm happy, because I'm not. Happy." I opened my mouth to talk but he stopped me. "Or engaged."
"What?" I breathed.
"It was a mistake in a stupid magazine. My brother's marrying Leta, June the 6th. I'm supposed to be best man, which is sort of mildly hilarious."
So...he's not getting married. Part of me is a bit relieved to hear that but there was this other part nagging in the back of my head. "Does he think you're here to win her back?" My mouth flew open at the possiblilty as I felt myself gettign angry. "Are you here to win her back?"
"No, I'm here..." Newt paused as he looked at me. I felt myself blowing a frustrated air out of my nose as I crossed my arms.
"What?" I asked.
He shook his head. "I'm not suppose to say."
I gave him a look. "What do you mean?"
He started to pull something out of his pocket. "I've kept that picture you drew for me." I gave him a shocking look. He - He kept the drawing?
"I've read your book," I admitted.
"Really?" Newt asked. I nodded. "You really read it?"
"I did and it's really amazing."
"Just like this drawing." He slowly opened up the paper. "I might have casted a little spell so it would..." When Newt opened up the paper it was my drawing of him. But the ink danced around the paper until it was a drawing of me. Drawing me was smiling up at Newt before giving him a little wave. "It knows your happy because it copies every emotion you feel." The smile was replace with a snarl. "Like now. The small snarl. The way your nose crinkles. It's really, um, adorable and scary when you're mad. Which only gets that way when you're trying to protect someone. Which the most I've seen come from is..."
My eyes gone soft as I looked at him. "Like what?"
"I've seen them mostly come from..." I could tell Newt was struggling to say the next word. What? Is he afraid I might be insulted? But I know the word coming from Newt was never meant to be an insult.
"From coyotes," I finished for him. Newt nodded before he folded the paper again and placed it back in his pocket. "I still have the scarf you gave me."
"So you'll have a little piece of me," he recited. I nodded. Newt reached forward and tucked my hair behind my ear. He brought his hand back and rested it on my cheek. His thumb began to trace my cheek. "I couldn't forget about you, Alina. No matter how many times I told myself that you didn't remember me. You always plagued my mind."
I gave him a small smile. "I'm not going to lie. You have no idea how relieved I am when you said you're not getting married."
"That's the same relief I probably felt when I heard you remembered."
"Did you really write to me?" I asked.
He nodded. "Everyday. I just couldn't send them because -"
"My memory." He nodded again. "And you kept all of them?"
"Because I hoped I could give them to you one day. Now I can."
I smiled up at him. I leaned forward to kiss him but pulled back when we heard the door opening. Tina ran over to us and grabbed out arms.
"We need to hide."
