《THE FORGOTTEN DAD》CHAPTER 24

He was walking around the airport nervously with a bouquet of flowers in his hands. Lavandin, that girl's most favorite scent of lavender. He was prepared well although he definitely can't think straight this morning, he puts the ring in the wrong pocket and then panicked when he couldn't find it.
His stomach shifts uneasily and he noticed that the hands that he was hugging himself with are pinching into his own skin. He slowly released his hands but then he even can't figure out what to do with them, so instead they clasp and unclasp each other as if in constant need of touch and reassurance.
He will be seeing her again. A girl that he fell in love with since couple of years ago. You know falling in love is easy isn't? But for him falling in love with the same person repeatedly is beyond extraordinary. Despite of many circumstances he had been through, he was really determined today.
He smile and his eyes started to drift downward and pulling out the ring from his pocket.
"You know that I'm falling in love with you, right?" he murmured alone while keep looking warm at the ring in his right hand. The other hand still holding the flowers tight. A silly smile occurred on his face.
The funny thing is she never knows honestly. She was never filled up with the sight of him, she never knows about his existence around her. He was like a black shadow to her. There was no his definition in her dictionary. There was no Park Chanyeol in her life. But right now, right here at this moment he wanted to mark a history today.
"Mr. Park," he turned only to see Wonwoo, his personal assistant who dressed in black walking towards him charismatically. He bowed his head low once he arrived at his place.
"Airbus A321neo Asiana Airlines already arrived now,"
It was her flight. No one knows that she will come here today except him. Not that jerk. Not also her friend. To be truth is he always keeps an eye on her. He knew everything about her but it was a shame as until now he couldn't find a way to tell her about this.
"Where is her exit door?" he asked.
A step by step he makes, follows his PA from behind towards a huge entrance which already crowded with people. He watched every single passenger went out with their luggage happily welcomed by their family and friends. He keeps his head high and tried searching any sign of her. But where is she? Why she didn't come out yet? He held the bouquet tight, his anxiety arise increasingly.
He thought that Wonwoo already confirmed about her flight schedule before. And one of his men in that country had seen her take the flight several hours ago. So where is she now? He looked at Wonwoo, asking for his explanation.
"I'll go find her, sir." said him with his straight face before disappearing.
Where did you go, my love?
Where did you go?
Suffering. That's how Chanyeol always described it. Waiting her always been suffering for him. He had known that to love deeply meant to risk great pain, he had pursued superficial relationships and one night stands until her met her. And then he was lost. No longer the master, he was a puppet. Because of one girl.
Suddenly he heard someone shouted her name. Yes, he's not wrong. He's clearly heard her name been yelled out loud.
"It's Jungkook's ex-girlfriend!"
Chanyeol turned every side of his view just to find where the voice was coming from. At one corner near to the other exit door which a little bit far from him, he saw a crowd of people and some journalists were gather around. Please don't say it was her there, he wished.

He moved his feet within a sec and turned it to running, followed what his heart wanted him to do. The flowers still he didn't let go from his hands. His breath seemed to stutter in his lungs before he let it go, feeling the tension drain from his body. A step he make, a step closer he gets to the crowd, he wanted to make certain that it was not her. Just please, really.
His ears still wanted to deny it even though he heard those journalists were asking about the controversy she had. Not right here. Please don't say it's her who was been attack by those crowds. As his feet keep running towards them, he suddenly heard a familiar voice.
"Please do have some respect to a pregnant woman!"
His heart pounded in his throat, threatening to break out. His eyes wandered around the crowd. He saw her. His eyes stayed locked on her. But she's not alone. There was Mark Tuan from Raymond Hotel besides her, defending her from those prejudice people.
A muscle twitched involuntarily at the corner of his right eye, his mouth formed a rigid grimace. He brought his arms folded tightly across his broad chest, making the flowers fell on the floor. He tapped his foot furiously and all the while stared out of the scene both of them just make. He wanted to disturb them to be honest. This was not what he planned.
Why Mark was here? Did he know that she will be here today?
He keeps staring at her, looking at her poor expression. But then his eyes fall down towards her stomach. Her pregnancy already grew bigger from his last saw her. She was pregnant of that jerk's child and she suffered. She went through all the malicious hating that been throw to her alone. He had witnessed everything. From the first her not so call forever lover cheated on her until he chased her out from their house like a stray dog.
"I don't want to see you here anymore!" he heard that jerk shouted at her. A few seconds after that, an opened luggage had been thrown outside of the house. Chanyeol saw him dragging that poor girl out from his house merciless. He listened every word she lets out, begging him to believe on her. But what did she get in return? A violent response.
"Don't worry..." that arrogant jerk smirked.
"You will not lose everything since you also have Mark as your backup plan isn't?" Chanyeol witnessed him being harsh towards her by grabbing her hair hard and pushing her head away.
He lets out a burning ball of air that was searing the walls of his lungs. He couldn't find his voice. His eyes turning red as well, his face was distorted with rage. He wanted to do something. He wanted to defend her. She's done nothing wrong for sure. She's just came back from hospital and the way he treated her was too heartbreaking.
In the moment he was ready to go to her, he felt a vibration in his pocket. Wonwoo called him.
"What's the doctor said?" he asked him straight away, still his eyes keep watching the fight between them.
"She's positive pregnant," Chanyeol lets out a painful sigh.
Why must now, Y/N? He won't appreciate neither if you pregnant of his child.
"One more thing, sir," Wonwoo spoke again right before he's going to hang up the call.
"Your father's bodyguards are been following you now,"
Right after that, he quickly turned behind him. Yes Wonwoo is right. There were three black suit guys standing not so far from him. He can't break the deal between him and his father. He totally would dead if his father knows about him meeting her now. What a coward he is now!

He lifted his head, watching her pulled her hands around her knees, hugging them so close that they dig into her chest. Her continuous wailing broke the silence of this corridor. She breathed as if no air would ever be enough, as if she were a drowning victim suddenly brought up from the depths. She was on her knees, her long hair almost touching the ground, and her hands slowly picking up the clothes all over the floor.
"I'm sorry I can't do anything to help you," he whispered alone.
His heartache was like a wolf eating at his chest, tearing its way to his trembling heart. It threatened to devour him, eat him whole and leave nothing but scraps behind. But he refused to be the scraps she would leave. He would rebuild himself and fight off the wolf, but right now he didn't know how. So he did his best to bear both his and her pain inside and planned everything just to protect her in future so that he won't witness it again like a coward.

"You keep getting on my nerve, Chanyeol!" said his father angrily.
He gritted his teeth in effort to remain silent.
"Do you want your mother die because of you?"
"Why you need to worry about her? She's not your wife anymore?!" He exclaimed, his anger and hatred getting the better of him. He closed in the distance between his father and himself. His voice lowered, almost to a whisper. "You already have a new mistress aren't you?" he began to smirk. His father's eyes widened for a second before narrowing in anger.
"You ungrateful son!" his father shouted at him with arising temper.
"She is not same level with us! Put on your mind that I won't ever give my blessing towards her," said his father while pointing his finger to Chanyeol.
"It's up to me who I want to be with!"
Burning rage hissed through his body like deathly poison, screeching a demanded release in the form of unwanted violence. It was like a volcano erupting; fury sweeping off him like ferocious waves. The wrath consumed like, engulfing his moralities and destroying the boundaries of loyalty.
"Don't tell me who I can and cannot love. Don't put limits on what is or is not appropriate, dad! I have enough watching Jinyoung suffered because of you!"
Arranged marriage is not going work on him somehow. But unfortunately not for his brother who's from different mother, Park Jinyoung was suffering mentally since his father decided on marrying him with one of his business friend's daughter. He knew Jinyoung has someone else in his heart but who is him to disobey his father request.
Chanyeol told himself that he won't be like Jinyoung. He wanted to be with Y/N. Don't you see what's happened? He wanted to be in love again. To feel that feeling where a woman he hardly know gazes into his eyes and seems to be the only human being who ever understood the real him.
How he fell in love with her? He fell in love with her right after he saw her for the first time. About two years ago, when she still work with Park Legacy. When she still with her happy relationship with that jerk. It was a common busy office hours on Tuesday when his father asked him to go to Park Legacy headquarter for no reason. He still remembers how it happened. How he could erase such an amazing history in his life easily?
"I want to see Park Ju-Yung right now!"
Chanyeol suddenly heard someone shouting when he was about to press the elevator button. He quickly turned back and saw a young girl around 20 something with her red lips and a tight dress. He somehow used to see this woman before but where?
"Who is she?" he asked to Wonwoo who stood beside him, didn't care much what chaos she trying to make. He was cold-hearted guy before, a heartless gaze tends to be in his personality. Maybe that's why most of rich sons tend to be arrogant and selfish.
"Han Ga-in, a famous actress," Wonwoo whispered to his ear. An actress? Probably his father new mistress, he thought. No wonder she seems familiar.
"Ya! Park Ju-Yung! You better get down now if you still got balls!" she shouted again.
Chanyeol lets out a smirk when he heard that woman gave his dad a warning. What trouble did his father get into now? He's quite aware of his father playboy behavior, guess that's why his mother asked a divorcement from that old jerkass man. But the problem won't stops there when he married to Jinyoung's mother and having Jinyoung. Their marriage also didn't long enough and ended up with a divorce. His father third wife somehow different from his and Jinyoung's mother. She ended up dying right after gave birth to Park Jimin. Maybe because of that Jimin seems to make troubles all the time. He didn't receive much love from his parent.
The elevator opened suddenly making him shock. There was a woman appeared and followed with other two guys. He knew these men were. They were his father bodyguards. But who is that girl? He never has seen her before. Did his father hire a girl for bodyguard now? She seems strong somehow.
"Miss Ga-in, please follow me to my office right now. We can discuss about this there," said her softly, trying to convince that mad woman.
"No! Are you stupid? I want to see Park Ju-Yung now! Where is that coward?" shouted her before pushing that girl harshly. She was almost tripping her leg because of that rude act.
"Ya! You're Park Chanyeol isn't? Where is your father huh?" suddenly Han Ga-in looked at him with a glare.
Both of Wonwoo and him became panick when she suddenly revealing him. The truth is no one in the company had seen three sons of Park Ju-Yung. He himself also dressed in casual today although it was still office hours now. Right before that girl turned to see him, there was a cleaner with his stuff walked through passing in front of him. Within a second, Wonwoo grabbed two masks from the cleaner secretly and handed to him one. Without hesitation he wore the mask and quickly gets up. Phew!
"I'm sorry Miss Ga-in. He is not his son. In fact they all at overseas right now,"
He saw that girl walking towards him out of sudden and grabbed his arm. His eyes widened when this strange girl dare enough to touch him. Wonwoo tried to help him but she ended up to drag Chanyeol towards that crazy woman.
"This is our cleaner that you misunderstood as our President's son. Do you think President Park will let off this thing easily, Miss Ga-in? I know what's your intention coming here but let me tell you something. This kind of person won't let you win fairly and maybe he won't ever let you live not after what you had done to him," she lets out a gasp.
Chanyeol didn't even blinking his eyes since this girl started to speak. He's too amaze on what she told although half of them kinda like harassing his family pride. But somehow he didn't feel mad about this. He could only keep staring at her side profile while trying to follow the flow of her moving lips.
"Listen to my advice, Miss Ga-in. If you want to fight this man, this is not the way. What you get in return if you behave like this? It won't lead to justice also and you probably ended up suffering,"
I don't fancy colors of the face, I'm always attracted to colors of the brain.
He admired everything about her, from the way the breeze blew her hair to her voice. To him she looked like some kind of water sprite. But what really made he fall head over heels for her was the way she dealt with her customers. She put them at ease better than any psychologist. They hung on her every word and she always knew just what to say.
It wasn't just him that had a high opinion of her. The whole Park Legacy did. That's why his father still wanted to keep her working here even though he knew that his son already fell in love with her. He promised his father that he won't communicate with her and in return, his father won't touch his dying mother. That's why he didn't brave enough to touch her yet although he honestly can't stand seeing his two favorite women suffering. If he touched that girl, his mother might in harm.
"I'm sorry I involved you in," said her after making the whole chaos in her control.
The respect he held for her was like an aged cheese. It became stronger with age, more mature, more robust. She was unfailingly kind, she always put others first and herself last. No matter how tired she was, how bad she was treated, she was never forget anyone behind. His admiration for her was deep seated and long lasting.
"It's okay," responded him awkwardly. What the hell Park Chanyeol? Since when you turned to be a girly.
"Are you a new cleaner here?" asked her. He nodded hesitantly behind the mask.
"What's your name?" asked her again.
"Call me Chan,"
"I'm Y/N," she pulled out her hand for a handshake while smiling.

I love you. That means I would defend you with my life even if the odds were insurmountable. It means I will comfort you in the difficult and painful times. It means I will dance and rejoice with you when times are good. It means I will never betray you, never give up on you. It means finding my fire when you, my loved one, is threatened, yet never waging war - only doing what is necessary for a noble defence. Love says though life may test me I am yours into eternity and I will never abandon you. It means I will never put you in danger no matter how noble the "cause" may be. Love means protecting the earth, protecting humanity, being kind to animals, but should anyone demand your life to save their own I will tell them to rot in hell. There can never be a higher calling to me than protecting and caring for those I love. Love is not a concept for sheep, for sheep run at the first sign of fear; it is a concept for lions, so be brave my love and know that I am here.
He saw her shadow was faded away. She was already gone. It was his first time he introduces his true self. The real him. Park Chanyeol not the cleaner, Chan. She seems to be happy with her new life. With his daughter. But she couldn't be happy if she keeps living in a lie with Mark. She have no clue what Mark already done to her. Both of them were destroying her slowly. Both Jungkook and Mark.
He quickly pulled out his phone from the right pocket and dialed Wonwoo's phone number. Within a second, he picked up his call.
"The item. Are they ready yet?" he gasped. This was the hardest decision to do. Seeing her breaking one more time is not his choice either.
"Yes sir,"
"Send to her house now," he said before hung up the call.
Chanyeol do you have to do this now?

The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes
