"The blonde bimbo on the fourth floor, seriously? That's who you're competing with?" Marcello mocked, trying not to choke on his coffee from laughter.
I rolled my eyes. "Oh, shut up. I'm not competing. It's a mere love triangle."
Marcello and I sat in the front lobby, enjoying lunch with one another. I decided to tell him about the whole situation because I thought it would do me good.
"Love triangles are never easy, hun." He said, giving me a look of doubt. I took a bite of my salad, flipping him off.
Just then, Marcello and I turn our heads to Michelle, the blonde bimbo. She walked through the doors wearing a hot pink bodycon dress, flipping her hair and walking as though she was a model.
I pressed my lips together, trying to refrain from laughing. Marcello stared at me, making the urge to laugh even thicker.
She walked past us, a heavy smell of men's cologne lingering off her. I bit my lip, knowing exactly whose cologne that was. I shook my head, ferociously picking at my salad.
"Mhm. Love triangles." Marcello sneered as he stared at Michelle's ass, "Big ass, though, props to Vinnie." He continued, toasting his coffee to me. I flipped him off once again, launching a tomato at him.
I checked the time, 2:00pm. I had to head to the dry-cleaners to pick up Vinnie's suits for a big meeting he had tomorrow, Monday.
"Marc, I'll see you a bit later. I gotta go do some chores for work." I said, saluting him goodbye.
He winked. "Try not to get railed this time."
My mouth dropped open, and my eyes widened. I shook my head, throwing out my garbage, and heading out into the big city.
_________
I walked into the office, immediately warming up from the chill outside. I took off my scarf and jacket, laying them on the back of my chair.
From my drawer, I took out the key to Vinnie's office. I unlocked the doors, setting the suits in his closet.
Vinnie's office had just about everything; it was like a tiny living space. It doesn't surprise me that he spends most of his days here.
"Who are you?" A female voice asked. I stood frozen, unable to move. I could recognize that voice from a mile away.
I turned around, faced with none other than Michelle, the blonde bimbo from the fourth floor.
"Oh, um... I'm the boss's assistant, Luna. I just had to drop off a few suits for his meeting tomorrow." I said shakily; I had no idea why I was this nervous.
She rolled her eyes at me, setting her purse and coat down on Vinnie's chair.
"Okay. I'm gonna have to ask you to leave. I have a meeting with Boss today." She said smirking. I nodded, giving her a thumbs-up before walking out.
She turned around, watching me go. "Oh, and Luna, if you ever come in here again before one of our meetings, watch your back."
I squinted my eyes, trying to understand what it was that I did so wrong.
"First of all, boss told me to be here. Last time I checked, you're not my boss." I said, smiling at her while putting my jacket and scarf back on.
She scoffed. "Who do you think you are talking to me like that?"
"I'm just doing my job." I replied, waving goodbye to her.
"You little bitch!" She said, running after me, pushing me down to the floor.

I felt a sharp sting on the back of my head, causing me to screech in pain. She straddled herself on top of me, yelling in my face as though we were wrestling.
I took my free hand, punching her in her face, forcing her to fall to the floor next to me. She laid there, her hand on her cheek as she cried in pain.
"Next time, don't fucking test me." I spit, walking away.
Pressing the elevator button, I knew I was going to hear about this tomorrow from Vinnie. And, worse, Michelle would twist the story and say I was the violent one first.
I didn't know how much longer I could pull this façade off. It hurt knowing Vinnie was with another girl, doing and saying the same things he does me.
I wish I could have him all to myself, but I guess that's too much to ask for, especially when business has and will always be his priority.
The elevator door finally opened, revealing Vinnie in an all-black suit. He looked at me, biting his lip.
I rolled my eyes, pushing past him. "Tell your whore not to worry about me. I won't come between you two." I spit, watching him eye me as the elevator door closed.
That was... all too familiar. I leaned my head against the back wall of the elevator, shooting pains coming from it. At the very least, I probably had a concussion.
_________
"So, you mean to tell me she was there?" Mel said in shock, her hand covering her mouth.
I nodded. "And she was such a bitch. I was doing my job."
"I'm not surprised. Every time I see her, I can smell her insecurity. Compared to her, you're a rocket." She replied winking.
I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, well, he chose her." I sneered while Amelia shook her head.
"He didn't choose anyone. No man in their right mind would choose her over you."
Suddenly, I got a call from an unknown number. Amelia shooed me off into my room to take it.
"Hello?" I said, a bit confused.
"So what is this I hear about you punching Michelle?" Vinnie. How could I be so surprised?
I laid down on my bed. "She came to me first. I was doing my job."
"That's not the fucking point, Luna. Now I could lose her as a client." He said, fear oozing from his voice.
I stared at the ceiling. So she was just a client?
"How was I supposed to know she was a client, Vinnie? You chose to keep her a secret from me; you acted like she was your side-chick. Don't you blame me for this." I spit, becoming angry.
All I heard was his breathing on the other line. He knew he was wrong; how could he expect me to think she was a client when he acted the way he did with her?
"I'm sorry I shouldn't have been so abrupt. I know you didn't know." Vinnie said, his tone softening.
"Yeah. Well, anyway, I'll see you at the meeting tomorrow. Your suits are in your office closet." I replied, pissed off, not letting him say another word before I hung up.
I tossed my phone onto the bed, walking back out into the living room. Amelia stared at me, a look of confusion.
"I don't even want to talk about it." I said, grabbing a bag of sour-patch, plopping on the couch.
Amelia shrugged, turning on Gossip Girl. We sat there in silence-- All I wanted to do was forget about everything that happened today.

_________
I placed the steaming cup of coffee on Boss's desk, laying out various sheets of paper that he would need to go over before the big meeting.
He never told me what the meeting was about, he only informed me that it was serious, and the day of I had to be there for him.
So, here I was, an hour earlier than I had to be, getting everything ready for him.
I returned to my desk, beginning my daily tasks. I was excited to see Vinnie; I knew he'd be dressed to a tee. But I also knew he'd be completely distant from me, despite asking me to be in the meeting with him.
"Luna, you're here early." Vinnie said, entering the office.
I smiled and nodded. "I wanted to get everything set and stone for you, boss. I know today is a big day."
"That was very kind, thank you." He replied, stopping in front of my desk.
"What time would you like me to come in for the meeting?" I asked, hoping he still wanted me there.
He smiled. "I was worried you didn't want to come in after yesterday."
I furrowed my eyebrows. "Why wouldn't I want to come in?" I questioned.
He took a deep breath, fixing his messy curly hair that somehow was put-together today.
"It's with Michelle's family..."
I bit my lip, looking down at my desk. It's not that I didn't want to go, but Michelle clearly doesn't like me, and I wouldn't want to ruin the deal for Vinnie, for whatever it entailed.
"She doesn't like me, Vinnie." I retorted.
He shrugged. "You're my assistant, and you need to be there, so I will see you at 9:50am sharp." He commanded, walking into his office.
A shiver was sent down my spine, spiking my anxiety. I knew I had nothing to worry about; if Vinnie wanted me there, then I'd be there, no questions asked.
_________
"Vinnie, baby. It's so great to see you." Michelle said as she entered the room. I bit my lip, refraining myself was vomiting of cringe.
I really wanted to leave.
"It's nice to see you, Michelle." Vinnie said, being professional while she was all over him.
I really really wanted to leave now.
Behind Michelle came two men, both fit with grayish-black hair, probably in their mid to late fifties. They both sported all-black suits, and the fancy ear Bluetooth things.
I felt like I was in some sort of mafia meeting.
"And who's this young lady?" One of the men asked, reading his hand out to shake mine.
Vinnie stepped in front of me. "My secretary, Ms. Rayne."
I lightly waved, giving a smile. I wasn't quite sure how to act, because I knew one wrong move would get my in trouble.
"And why does she need to be here?" Michelle sneered, giving me a death stare.
"She's my secretary, she takes important notes on my meetings that I'll need for later." Vinnie said, never breaking eye contact with me.
Michelle scoffed, crossing her arms and pouting like a baby. Jesus, I didn't know it was act like a toddler day. I stared at Vinnie, giving him a look so he could get back to the meeting.
"Mhm. Right. Anyway, I would like to speak in matters of the deal." Vinnie began. I was afraid for what I was about to hear.
One of the men, Derek, I believe, spoke up. "Mr. Hacker, we are requesting you travel to Italy to oversee your business there. Word on the streets says that Matteo Vicci has a hit man out for you."
Hit man? Matteo Vicci? Italy?
Vinnie bit his lip, looking at me, then back to the men. "What's in it for me?"
"Three million dollars." They both said at the same time, my eyes going wide while Michelle looked at me and smirked.
"That can't be all there is to it." Vinnie retorted. He was right, there had to be more.
Derek stood up. "We need you to kill Matteo Vicci and his gang."
Now, my eyes were really wide. I didn't think Vinnie was in the... killing business. But, if I were honest, it did make him ten times hotter than he already was.
"Fine. Deal." Vinnie said, standing up and shaking their hands.
"Mr. Hacker, there's one more condition." The other man said. "You must take Michelle."
Ah, yes. The feeling of my heart shattering into one thousand tiny pathetic pieces. Funny to think for a slight second I thought she had nothing to do with this.
"Absolutely not." Vinnie retorted, sitting back down in his chair.
Michelle scoffed. "Excuse me?"
"This is a business trip, not a honeymoon. I will take my secretary with me, and that's final." He said, staring at me.
Me? He wanted... me? I bit my lip, unsure of what to say as everyone stared at me. I felt like I was doing something wrong, although a word never left my mouth.
"You can't do that Vinnie. You know the deal." Michelle said angrily.
I didn't get why Vinnie wouldn't give in. He knows I'm a risk, clearly, yet he's pushing for me.
"Then I'll take the both of you. My secretary's always come with me on business trips, whether or not there's a conflict of interest." He said, being stubborn.
"Than take Sebastian." Michelle pleaded.
Vinnie rolled his eyes. "Sebastian is my assistant. Luna will come along with us."
"Then I'm not going." She sneered.
Having enough, I finally spoke up. "Then don't fucking come. No one wants to hear you complain." I growled.
Derek and the other man looked at me, trying to hold themselves back from laughing. They probably couldn't stand her, and I mean, who possibly could? She's a spoiled brat.
"Don't backtalk me, bitch." Michelle said, getting up.
I rolled my eyes. "I'm not back-talking, just stating what everyone else is thinking."
I looked at Vinnie who was clearly trying to retain himself from laughing. I was surprised he wasn't furious with me, given that I was blatantly disrespecting someone in a business meeting.
"Fine. Whatever. You can come, but Vinnie and I are not paying for any of your shit." She muttered, sitting back down, pouting once again.
Vinnie furrowed his eyebrows. "That's not true." He said, turning to me. "All expenses are paid for you, don't listen to her."
I smiled. "Thank you."
The rest of the meeting went on as any normal meeting would. The discussion of details, salary, what's in it for everyone. I sat there, taking notes, while Michelle refused to take her eyes off me. I knew she was pissed, but I couldn't really care.
Bottom line was that I am going on the Italy trip, whether or not she tried to fight it.
