Vincenzo stopped the car and opened my door, he roughly grabbed me.
"Ow! Get your lying hands off of me," I commanded. He didn't seem to listen. He just roughly dragged me around like I was a rag doll.
He dragged me towards a mansion.
Was this my fathers?
It was large and luxurious, I had never saw my fathers other houses before. This was better than our one back in America. All the houses were better here than there.
I started to shake as Vincenzo dragged her to the door. I was nervous to see my father after all this time. He had murdered Mama and I haven't seen him in a while.
I didn't want him to kill Giovanni. Although he kidnapped me. He also brought me into a new family. A family who cared for me as much as I did for them.
I liked my life. I wouldn't change it.
Giovanni was passed out in the car as Vincenzo brought me in the house. I was met with a dark room with no lights on.
I saw a man in the corner of the foyer. The lights turned on and it revealed my father.
"I brought her to you just like you asked, signore," Vincenzo said. He seemed jittery. He looked afraid of my father. (sir)
"Where's the boy?" My father asked, roughly.
Vincenzo went to the car to retrieve Giovanni.
I stared at my father in disgust. I was ashamed to call him my father.
"Long time, no see, sweetheart." He came towards me. He untied my hands and moved my hair from my face.
"I hate you," I spat. My voice was bitter and dark. I truly hated him for what he had done to the family. He had ruined many people's lives.
I didn't even know any of this was going down.
His eyes darkened and he lifted his hand and smacked it straight across my face. My head whipped in that direction. My eyes held tears. That was the first time he had ever lifted his hand on me.
"You've always had a bad attitude," he told me. "Now, with your mother out of the picture. I can do whatever I want to you."
"How could you kill her?" I asked. "How could you do such a thing?"
"She knew too much, sweetheart. She had a big mouth, she would easily spill all my hard work. I could see where you got it from," he said.
Vincenzo came in with a knocked out Giovanni. Giovanni's head was bleeding from when he hit him over the head with the ranch. What if it was something serious?
A gun shot rang through the dark house and a scream escaped my lips. Vincenzo suddenly fell to the floor, he dropped Giovanni and I rushed towards him.

The sudden noise sent Giovanni awake. He opened his eyes and glared at me. "Chanel?" He asked.
I shushed him, quietly. He shut his mouth and continued to lay on the ground.
I looked at my father, who had the gun in his hand. He placed it back in his pants and muttered, "I didn't like him anyway."
I just witnessed my father kill someone. He did it like it was no problem, just like Giovanni did that night in the alleyway.
"Now, I think it's time we catch up, don't you my think, sweetheart?" My father asked.
I stood up from Giovanni and followed my father into the mysterious house.
He sat on a chair and I slowly sat down next to him. "I understand you must feel overwhelmed."
"Overwhelmed?" I scoffed. "I just found out my family is part of an illegal Mob. I think overwhelmed is an understatement."
"My apologies, I know it was a surprise when you found out, but I was hoping you would never find out about it. Now, that you have, you might end up like your mother," he told me, calmly.
"You would kill me?" I asked. I felt betrayed. My own family would kill me.
"Not would," he stated. I felt relieved. I let out a breath. "Will."
He suddenly pulled out a gun and pointed it at me. He chuckled, darkly. "You're so much like her, it's a shame I have to lose you both. You would have had a bright future ahead of you."
"W-Why are you doing this?" I choked out.
"That's an easy question, sweetheart. I'm sure you can figure it out," he professed. I didn't remember my father like this, all my memories were happy ones with him. Those were the times he was at home, he would always be at work or out a night.
I didn't really grow up with him present in my life as much. It was crazy to think he was capable of doing all this. Going through all this trouble to do, what? What does he get from doing this?
He noticed my confused factual expression and answered my question. "Revenge," he answered.
What did he mean by that?
"Ever since you were born, you took everything from me. Now, since you were coming of age, you were going to take my gang away from me. I was getting old, I needed to retire and that goes into the hands of you," he proclaimed. "In order to keep my gang, I need to kill you. I need you dead."
He pointed the gun at me and I lifted my hands up in surrender. "I'm sure we can work it out, I didn't even want to be a leader."
He laughed, wryly. "It doesn't matter what you want."

He clicked the gun and I kicked it out of his hands. He looked surprised. He didn't think I was know that I was capable of doing something like that.
I did train and that training, really helped me out when I needed it.
I grabbed the gun and aimed it at him instead. "You deserve this," I seethed through clenched teeth. "You killed mom, you ruined my life. You didn't even care to pay the gang that kidnapped me."
I traced my finger over the trigger and was ready to shoot.
"I was hoping they would kill you for me," he affirmed. He was being honest, he wanted me dead.
I narrowed my eyes at him. How dare he? He was supposed to be my parent. He was supposed to my role model. I just look at him and see wasted potential. He could've been a great father, he chose the wrong thing.
"Considering your here, right now. I see that didn't happen," he indicated.
I tried to pull the trigger. I tried to press it with my finger, but I couldn't.
My father grinned, drolly. "See, you're not cut out for it at all, you won't even shoot a simple gun," he snickered. "Pathetic."
I froze. I couldn't move.
I squeezed my eyes shut and clutched the gun in my hands. I was ready to shoot. I wanted to shoot him. I got ready to. Gun shots rang through the air and I dropped the gun.
It wasn't me who shot him.
I looked up to see Giovanni standing on the balcony. He shot him through the decorated railing. I also noticed Derrick with a gun in his hand. They both shot him.
My father fell to the floor. His eyes looked lifeless. I covered my hand over my mouth.
"That was for my mother, you bastard," Giovanni snarled.
I couldn't believe I lost both of my parents.
He deserved it.
Except one thing was ringing through my head. Maybe the main reason, I didn't want to shoot him was because now that he was dead. I was left to takeover his gang.
I was going to be a gang leader.
I wasn't sure I was capable of something like that.
But, I knew someone who was.
I looked at Derrick. He was staring at our fathers dead body.
He was more leader material.
He deserved it, as well. Even though he betrayed the family when he left to Giovannis gang. Father disowned him since he was a disgrace to the family name, which was probably one of the reasons he found Giovanni's gang in the first place.
The rest of the gang came running inside to see my fathers body.
I felt tears down my face, but I wasn't sure if they were from relief or grief.
I only had my brother left.
I took Derricks hand and we left my fathers house. We left and never looked back.
I noticed Giovanni sit down next to his brothers body, before we left. He stared at it, emotionless. He kissed his two fingers and touched it on his forehead.
Everything was going to be okay. Everything was going to be taken care of.
Once we got back to the house, I lay in my bed and I replayed many of the atrocious events that had happened tonight and I couldn't sleep.
I found myself knocking at Giovanni's bedroom door. He didn't answer and I just took the opportunity to open his door. It was unlocked.
I walked into the room and quietly went towards him. I saw him slaying, peacefully on his pillow. Until his eyes opened, I jumped in surprise.
"What the fuck are you doing in here?" He asked, roughly. He sat up in the bed.
He was shirtless. He had many tattoos covering his chest and I wondered how it felt to get so many.
"C-Can I sleep with you?" I asked, coyly.
He smirked. An arrogant smirk played on his lips.
I immediately realized what I said and what it sounded like.
"No!" I exclaimed. "I didn't mean it like that," I quickly interjected. He growled and laid back in his bed, covering himself with the covers.
He didn't say 'yes', but he didn't say 'no'.
I didn't know how to explain it, but I felt safe with him. I felt protected.
I slipped into the covers next to his half naked body. He was sculpted like a God. I scooted into the far side of the bed to stay away from him. I placed my arms under my pillow.
"This doesn't change anything about our relationship," I told him. My voice pierced through the silent air. "We still hate each other."
Truth was, I didn't know what would happen if we grew any other kind of relationship than a hate one.
I wasn't ready to be hurt by him. I didn't want to get hurt, but with him I suddenly didn't care. I didn't care if he broke my heart. What mattered was that we tried.
"Stay on your side," I warned when I felt his toe skin my leg. "You better not touch me."
He growled. "Shut up, go to sleep."
I did and for once I got through the night without worrying about flashbacks from my past.
I felt safe next to his arms. I felt safe being around him.
I finally felt safe with my father out of the picture.
I had been worrying about him all this time. It felt relieved to see this off of my shoulders.
I couldn't believe how far we've come.
We've still gotten a long way from here.
