《Balance(Bakugo x fem! Avatar reader)》Chapter 34

"Y/n, this is Wan Shi Tong," Korra says.
The large owl brings his face close to mine and speaks, "So this is the other avatar that The Avatar has told me about." They say.
I give a bow, "Yes I am. I was hoping to learn more about what the avatar is and how I am supposed to help the world." I explain.
I was questioned about my intentions but I still explained all I wanted to do was to learn. I was allowed to roam because Korra had cleared up some confrontations that she didn't tell me about.
I went down one row of the avatar section and began to read about the old avatars.
*****************this will change to 2nd pov from now on-*********
"Oh my spirits there are so many! I think I'll stop reading at this one." You exclaimed after closing the last scroll on Avatar Kyoshi. You found her story cool as well as the ones after including Korra's. Korra approached you with a grin,
"Tired already? I didn't imagine you would try to read them all, you'd be here for centuries" she laughed as she helped you put the books and scrolls back.
"I just can't imagine being the same as all of these incredible people," You say with excitement.
"You don't have to imagine, you're living it." She smiled and gave your head a pat, "maybe spend some of that reading energy on some useful things" she said and helped you up. You gave her a nod and ventured down another aisle. This one was a small section on the different bending and sub-bending. You looked at some of the bending scrolls. Korra came over and gave you some suggestions on the four elements. You sat and scanned them while lightly motioning with them.
After a while of perusing the section again, you discover lightning bending, metal, and lava, and as you put away the one on lava you spot a folded parchment in the back of the shelves. You reached and grabbed it. It was a very weathered piece of paper with some kind of stains which caused you to hold it carefully with pinching fingers. You carefully open it at the top in barely legible writing was the words 'Bloodbending'.
It seemed to be written in a hectic panic as you read through the detailing of how bloodbending worked. Reaching into someone's body and controlling the blood inside them made you shiver as you read it and you shoved the paper back to the spot you found it.
What a horrible bending to invent...to learn about. You'll never do that so someone...
To get your mind off it you read about the animals that existed back in Korra's time. You had learned that the past Avatars had animal companions and as you looked through the earth animals you've seen the badger moles, Sabertooth mooselions, and poodle monkeys, but the animal that called to you was the Eel hound. Something about the way they were fast and can travel on the water as well as the land grew your interest. Sure the fluffy animals would be cute but they wouldn't do well in the city. If you were able to have one you'd want one to fit in a home.

But these animals don't exist anymore, which bummed you out a little. You put the animal book back with a sigh. All this reading tired you out.
"All done for the day?" Korra asked as she leaned on the tall bookshelf.
"Yeah! I learned so much! But I'm still not sure what I am supposed to do as the Avatar" you expressed.
"To be honest kid...None of us avatars did. You have to trust yourself to be a guardian of the people and the spirits. And you don't have to do it alone. I've had my family and friends to be by my side and motivate me....and..my wife." she smiled and tugged onto her short hair.
"Right..there are already so many heroes and even more kids training to be heroes so that shouldn't be too much a problem." You said with a smile.
"You should get some rest and be ready for more avatar training tomorrow, whenever tomorrow is for you." She says with a pat on the shoulder and a smile. You nodded and closed your eyes as Korra brought you back to the portal. You gave her a hug and started to walk through.
"Oh! right! I'm going on an internship with a prohero soon so I wont be coming here for a bit" you say to Korra.
"Time doesn't really exist here so don't worry about that." she said as she walked off first into the spirit trees.
Well that was a simple response. You left and went up to the surface. It was really dark by now and you hoped you didn't miss dinner. You rushed inside with your full notebook. The smell of warm comfort food hit your senses as your parents were finishing up the food.
"Is that what I think it is?" you peek your head in and asked as you couldn't help a smile spread on your face. Your parents turned and greeted you with hugs.
"You bet it is! It's almost done too so we'll be able to eat soon!" your dad said with such joy.
"Is there anything I can help with?" you ask.
"Oh since it's already almost done there's not much we need help with but if you could possibly take out the trash." Your mom responded.
"Sure thing!" You said with a smile, "I'll just go put this notebook away and then I'll do that" and then you headed upstairs. You had left your phone with your stuff in the room and when you put your notebook down, you checked your phone and noticed a few texts and a couple of missed calls from Katsuki. Your chest fluttered a little.
"I guess he was trying to chat. I'll call him back after I get the trash" you thought to yourself and put your phone in your pocket and went downstairs to get the trash. You slipped on your shoes and since it was dark and a little chili you slipped on the jacket that Katsuki gave you and headed out the door. You walked out of your gate to the dumpster a little ways away. You chucked the bags into the large container and turned to see the very familiar spikey haired boy holding a small bag of trash as well. He was just in a t shirt and sweats, seems like he was sent out for trash duty as well.

"Heyyyy suki!" you greeted with a cheery smile and your face heating up ever so slightly. Katsuki felt the red dust his face at the silly nickname you gave him.
"Hi.." he mumbled as he threw the bag into the dumpster.
"What are you doing over here? Isn't there a closer dumpster to your place?" You asked as you subconously put your hands in the jacket's pockets. You had forgotten that you were wearing his jacket.
"You didn't answer my texts or calls." he stated while looking off to the side.
"Yeah I was working on something and didn't have my phone on me." you started to explain then an idea clicked into your head,"Wait. Were you...worried about me?" you grinned.
"WH-WHAT? WHY-" He turned red and started to turn more red.
"That's why you walked over here to 'throw your trash away' so you can check up on me cause you worrieeed" you teased him and stepped closer to poke his shoulder.
"Shut up! I wouldn't have if I knew you were going to do this" he responded but if he was honest, he didn't really mind it. He was having a hard time to ignore his heart beating so fast.
"Well I think it's sweet but you don't have to do that okay? If you want to chat and check in every once in a while or often-" you reached to boop him on the nose, "I'll carry my phone on me all the time then" you chuckled.
Katsuki turnerd his head away as his ears turned red at his flustered state. "Ok" he said quietly. You turned his head to look at you which brought on a shocked expression from him.
You look at him for a moment and smiled again, "You're cute" You were a little bolder since becoming 'official' with him.
This made him a lot more flustered and he scowled in embarrasment as he gently swatted your hand away as you laughed. He gave a glared and reached behind your head which made you a little nervouse now as he was closer.
Then as you looked into his eyes your vision went dark as he pulled the jacket hood over your head. Your confused reaction brought a small laugh from Katsuki.
"Even" he said.
You lifted the hood with a playful glare and then a smile, "Fine. Even" you agreed.
This interaction was nice to have. It reasurred you that Katsuki actually enjoys your company and that maybe he meant it when he said he wanted to be your boyfriend-or more like stated that he was.
"I'll see you tomorrow alright?" You spoke after a short moment of silence.
"Yeah." he said and gave your head a pat that made your head sink into your shoulders a little. "don't oversleep"
"Since when have I ever done that?" you asked as you took his hand off your head and held it.
"Dunno, but seeing as you're careless you might" he poked with a grin.
"Goodnight" you laughed as you let go of his hand and started to walk past him to your home.
As you walked back through your gate you got a ding on your phone and checked to see a text from Katsuki.
Katsu-don
That simple text made you realize you were wearing it and you were so flustered you had to cool off your face before going back inside and washing your hands, maybe some splashes of water onto your face before hanging the jacket up.
As you sat down at the dinner table you finally responded
You: Thanks it was a gift from a cute boy
then you quickly put your phone away in embarrasment and just ate the food your parents made. You talked about the hero name and the agency internships.
You didn't know that when you sent the text, kastuki had to put his phone down in order to not explode it.
He found himself...smiling to himself as he gave his punching bag a few punches to get some jitters out. Strong, pretty, funny, this extra had become maybe....a relevant side character.
(Aside from a few college classes-)
