I woke up groggy. My body was still sore from the battle yesterday.

It was about noon and I had a nice "breakfast" with my parents.

"And then, when you went 'boom!' And made that earth wave, I swear we cheered so loud the entire block heard us." My mom said in between bites of food.

Of course, my parents were a little surprised that I revealed all my powers along with -to them- this sudden growth in skill.

We finished eating and while washing dishes I talked to my mom.

"So uh...later I'm going out with a friend," I say.

"Okay, dear. I'm so happy you are fitting in well here. You've grown up so much, I'm so proud of you." My mom started to get emotional and teary-eyed.

"Ah, Mom it's ok. Don't-don't cry-Mom." I tried to calm my mom down.

After we finished cleaning up, my parents cared for their garden in the front.

I spent the next few hours practicing with Korra. I was on a break and when I checked the time, it was about 5.

I grew nervous.

"Hey what's up. I feel the nervousness coming from you." Korra sits next to me. She can feel that?

"Well...I asked a friend to hang out today and...I kinda made it sound like a date." I responded.

"It shouldn't be too hard to clear it up, I had a similar misunderstanding too with a friend of mine. You wouldn't want to hurt any feelings if this friend likes you." She says.

"But the thing is...I think......I think I might kinda like him..." I mutter out. Saying it out loud made my heart pound.

"Well...I feel like you should test the waters. Treat this as a date and see if you feel it's right. I'm not an expert in the dating category. My wife and I just kept talking and spending time then-we were just a thing. Ah...I'm not good at doing this, fighting and taking down the bad guys is what I excelled at." Korra explains.

I mean....it couldn't hurt, right? Wait...

"Avatars can have relationships?" I asked, "The sages told me the avatar was a lone hero who sacrificed personal contentment with the protection of others." I explained to her.

Korra looked at me with complete and utter shock.

"That....is so far from the truth. You can have the same things as anyone else. Those punks have been giving you bogus advice and rules." Korra says, a little irritated. She stands up, "I want you to forget everything they told you. Now you have me! And I'm pretty sure I know more than them."

I jumped up and hugged her. "Thank you, Korra. I'm so glad I can learn from you." She returns my hug and speaks once more.

"I feel like that's enough training for today. You should go get ready....for your date." She says.

It was about 5;30 so I left to get ready. I was sweaty and gross from training so I decided to jump into a quick shower.

I sat in the middle of my room. I was overthinking the outfit to wear.

Why do I have to be so nervous, we're just going to hang out. Probably get food....sit..in the park...just us...

"Gah! Why am I like this all of a sudden." I exclaim and fall back, now staring at the ceiling. It was now 6, "Well, I better figure out this outfit thing quickly."

"This looks stupid."

"Okay, I think this is okay. Not too flashy but I look nice." I sighed, "I'm making a fool of myself...." I muttered.

My phone buzzed. Katsuki texted me.

💥Chicken-Katsu💥: I'm here. Hurry up.

Here? Already? It's 6:30. Oh well. It's not like it's a bad thing.

I respond.

Katsuki begrudgingly waited for his friend. He had mentioned something about going out to his mom and she assumed he was going on a date with you. Since you were seemingly always around him. So, she wouldn't leave him alone about it.

He was so annoyed and embarrassed that his mom was up in his business. He just had to leave.

He wore a plain shirt with a jacket. He stood outside the gate and intended on waiting for you till 7 but he felt creepy just standing out there. So he texted you.

Dumbass: Okay! Comin down rn

He stared at the text. A sudden wave of nervousness washed over him.

When he heard the door open he looked over and he froze.

He began to feel fluttering in his chest and grew irritated about it. He didn't know if he liked it or if hated it.

You approached him with a cheerful smile and the feelings grew. Why were you suddenly............cute?

"Didn't expect you to be early but I'm not complaining. Come on, let's go get something to eat." You say and gesture down the road. You did your best to play it cool but you were internally struggling with your newfound feelings.

Katsuki huffs and mumbles a "Whatever." And you two began walking.

Katsuki kept staring at you. Was there something different about you? Was he sick? This confusion of sudden feelings made him angry.

"So did you rest well? I woke up at noon." You said with a small chuckle.

"Of course you would. I wasn't tired cause I'm just the best." He says, his voice carried irritation. Not towards you but himself. He didn't make eye contact with you.

You noticed this and became nervous. You were worried that he didn't want to be here.

"Hey, is everything okay? You know, if you didn't want to come you could have told me..." You told him and touched his arm. You felt a little sad if he didn't enjoy this.

"Quit the fucking moping! I wouldn't have agreed if I didn't want to, Dumbass!" He flicks your forehead. "Now come on, you're walking too slow the boba shop will close." He grabs your hand and begins walking faster, but he made sure not to drag you.

"Oh, we're going to a boba shop? I've never had it! Let's see if we can get some ramen too!" You said cheerfully. Your worried feelings passed and you were now excited.

"Sure, whatever." He responded. He was glad you weren't upset anymore. He felt his attitude get better once yours did.

You sat on a bench in the park, talking with Katsuki.

"And so my foot was stuck in a ball of earth for like a week." You finished telling a story about learning the elements. Katsuki was still processing your sudden extra powers, but the look on your face when you told the story made him feel......peaceful.

You paused and sighed. You began running through your thoughts.

"What?" Katsuki says as he notices your tone shift

"So I was thinking-" You began.

"Must've been hard." Katsuki comments.

"Hey!" You feign offensiveness with a giggle and continued. Your laugh made Katsuki feel better, he doesn't remember when he felt this at peace.

"I was thinking, you would want answers. More answers to why I hid my powers and...all that." You say. Katsuki was a little surprised, you were willing to tell him whatever he wanted to know.

"Hm, if you feel like it." He acted as he could care less but he did want to know.

"Well...I'm not that all knowledgeable but what I do know is um..." You grew a little nervous talking about it. You began to question what you knew.

"I'm-what they told me- The Avatar. A powerful being with many abilities. Uh..it's kinda difficult to explain. I can manipulate or "bend" elements such as earth, fire, air, and water...And then so much more, I-I don't know. I don't have the drawbacks that today's quirks have. I still don't know the significance though, why I had to train all my life for this when so many people seem to handle things fine. I-I don't know, lately, it's been difficult to see my importance in this world that seems to thrive without me." You explain, growing less confident as you talked.

Katsuki was quiet for a bit. You were worried that you might have brought the vibe down.

"It was you wasn't it." He speaks up after a bit, "The earthquake. I thought it felt....artificial." He says.

"Oh...I guess so. I must have been angry. I mean- I know I was, seeing the way they handled you, anyone would be furious to see someone they care about handled like that." You paused, "Sorry...I didn't mean to bring it up" You didn't catch that you said you cared about him.

Katsuki felt his heartache a little...He sighed and stood up.

"Come on, it's getting late.." He says. In typical date form, he takes his jacket off and puts it over your shoulders, and held out his hand. He looked away, he felt antsy and began to get sweaty.

You were surprised and got a little flustered, you went to grab his hand but he quickly pulled away. His hands were starting to get sweaty and he didn't want to accidentally blast you, he wiped off his hand on his shirt and grabbed your hand.

You two began walking and you carried your nervousness.

"Um... are you sure about me wearing your jacket? People might assume this is-"

"A date?" He stops and looks at you, "It is, isn't it?" He asks. His gaze felt intense, but you felt a little happy about what he said.

"I-I mean, as long as you're okay with the idea....i... don't mind..." You mumbled, you internalized the excitement you felt.

He continued walking, still holding your hand. He fought off the growing nervousness and stomach butterflies.

You reached your home and you began to say goodnight.

"Well..uh...thanks for agreeing to go out..-uh- today. Well-" you started to take off the jacket and he stopped you.

"Keep it, I've been trying to get rid of it forever.." Katsuki says, "And by the way...We aren't friends anymore." He says bluntly.

You were shocked at his statement. "What? Why? Was it something I said or th-the whole avatar thin-" Katsuki cuts you off by flicking your forehead?

"No, you idiot! We're dating now, Dumbass!" His face grew red as he said it out loud. " I hate the tension trope in dramas, it would be infuriating to deal with that.." He says.

You felt your breathing get irregular, you almost forgot to breathe after hearing that. He was so straightforward, not like anything shown in those dramas your parents love to watch. You were a little relieved to know that he liked you enough to want to date you, like for real.

"Um okay, yeah...I-I would like that a lot..." You sputter out.

"Okay well, I'll let you get home now," You say and hug him. Katsuki tensed up and his heart was beating so fast, he forgot to hug back. You pulled away and smiled as you walked inside.

"See you at school!" you say and enter your house.

Katsuki stood there for a moment and calmed himself down before walking back home. When he entered his home he walked straight to his room, he walked past his mom who spoke upon his arrival.

"Oh, you're back? Where is that new jacket you liked?" She asked him with a knowing grin.

"Lost it. Now leave me alone." He enters his room and closes his door.

You would probably expect him to explode and yell about these feelings but when he's around you or thinks of you...

He feels at peace.
