Surprisingly, in the fantasy LitRPG genre. A girls death forms the foundation for a plan centuries in the making. But when she shakes off their control, and forces the plans of beings millenia old to change, can she avoid being tied up as a loose end? With only what she could take with her in her mind, and a new body with surprising depths, she begins her new life in a world unlike her own. This is my first writing project in almost a decade, so there is going to be a lot of improvements from me as I shake off the rust. And of course, as the world I'm creating comes to life! Harold Schultz is a young substitute teacher making just enough money to pay rent and fuel his gaming hobby. When the highly anticipated upcoming video game Kingdom Shattered announces a raffle to decide invites to private beta testing not only the game, but also the next generation of full immersion gear, he immediately applies and ends up winning a slot to become a beta tester. Leaving his apartment and part-time teaching behind he heads to the game company's headquarters where the entire event will be broadcast live, with each player earning money off of the amount of viewers they are able to obtain while alive. On top of that, the first place player will walk away with a one million dollar grand prize. With his eyes on the giant cash bonus, Harold is determined to do everything he can to make it to the end and walk away with the grand prize. Markus gets - quite literally - thrown into an RPG Fantasy world. Casually gaining game-breakingly great power is the very first thing of course, but afterwards travelling the world, building a harem and having plain fun is on the agenda. Note: No room to hide the fact that this is heavily inspired by the "Death March" web novel. I will give it my own touch by not having a Japanese-ish main character (Japan is cool and everything, but why have a harem if you never ever do something "H" with them?). Everything (characters, story, etc) is basically my creation, but I consider it a re-think of the original, so I can neither call it an "Original" nor a "Fan Fic". Don't expect it to be overly innovative. I will add an 18+ warning as soon as something like that happens, the first chapter just has a bit of undramatic blood. Comments welcome.
