"where's jennie? i asked her to buy the chicken." i asked taehyung as soon as i got out from my bedroom.

i looked at him struggling to open the fried chicken's packaging.

why is he coming instead of jennie?

"her family meeting is taking longer than expected. she'll be here soon." he said.

i walked towards the living room and sat on the couch in front of him.

"a family meeting? she didn't mention that to me. was she forced to go on a blind da...ah, i mean...her family meeting...err..." i messed up. why did i even mention about that?

i laughed nervously.

i peeked at him to see his reaction.

"what about jennie going on blind dates?" taehyung asked.

i thought he didn't hear that. that mean he knew about all the blind date stuff?

"do you know about them...?" i asked back, looking at him.

"let's just eat. so why did you cry?" he changed the topic.

i'm glad actually because he didn't asked any further, or i might lie to him and make up story that even jennie doesn't know.

"i didn't." i said, chomping on the fried chicken.

so yummy!

"you should've done something about those puffy eyes before trying to lie."

"forget it. let's talk about you." i pointed at him using the drumstick on my hand.

"what about me?"

"are you going to let jennie go on blind dates like that?"

taehyung just kept silent at first and opened a can of soju that he bought for himself earlier.

"i'm getting ready." he said, swallowing the drink.

"for what?"

"to confidently stand in front of jennie's mother."

"ah.." i knew he'd be like this. he is so insecure.

"chae, how far do you think i need to go to be considered a good son-in-law?"

"you're already good enough." i said truthfully, or i might not have a crush on you back then.

"ooh..looks like you're a good judge of character!" he joked.

"yep, i am." i laughed shortly.

i see.

he's already thinking about things like that. not too long ago, talking about things like this would've hurt.

maybe it's because i decided to marry jungkook, but i don't find it painful.

"so again, why did you cry?" he asked again.

"you're so persistent. i'm getting married in april." i told him.

"oh?" he looked so calm. maybe he could relate with the situation i am in right now.

i'm pregnant. what else should i do other than getting married?

"you what?!" he suddenly shouted and spitted the drink. or maybe he didn't expect it at all.

i abruptly looked at him, "geez, you scared me!"

why would he shouted like that?

"i-i'm sorry. so you're getting married to doo-jool's dad, right? mm...that's good to hear. you'll start showing soon, too." he laughed.

i looked at him weirdly.

"so next april, huh? you'll have finished recuperating by then..haha..yeah, that would be a good time.." he continued, still digesting the information.

"i meant next month april.." i said. is he thinking that i'm getting married on next year's april?

"whaaat?! have you lost your mind..? it's already almost april!" he shouted once again.

gosh, he is so loud.

"it just happened, okay?"

"what do you mean it just happened? marriage isn't some joke. how can you plan a wedding in just a few days? who decided this? was it the kid's father?" he continuously asked.

huh?

"it's not his fault. the situation just..."

"just what? what kind of situation were you in where you had to decide on a wedding date like you're casually meeting up for dinner?" he interrupted and stood up to sit beside me.

he put his hand on my shoulder.

"what are you guys doing?" wait, isn't that jennie's voice?

oh my god, she might misunderstood.

"jennie, you're back! and what...? we're not doing anything." i told and looked at her.

aish, why did this man still putting his hand on my shoulder?

"take your hand off her shoulder, tae." jennie said.

"jen, sit down. you're going to want to hear this." taehyung said.

"no, no, i'm going to go and change. don't worry about me and just finish what you guys were doing." jennie casually said.

i sighed, take turns looking at them both.

"what nonsense are you saying?! don't the two of you have something to discuss anyway? i'm going back to my room." i scolded her and stood up, walking towards my bedroom.

"don't think you can run away, chae." taehyung said.

i turned to see him.

"taehyung, handle your business and i'll handle mine." i told him.

"oh, and jennie, i'm getting married in april." i told jennie.

"huh? what?!" she looked at me shockingly.

"i'd like you to catch my bouquet." i said to her.

"wait, what are you saying all of a sudden?!" she asked.

"i'll explain later. if the two of you are going to fight, fight quietly." i said, twisting the door knob of my room.

"hey, wait..." before she could say anything, i got into my room and closed the door on her face.

i made sure to lock the door too.

i sighed.

i know that it's time for me to say goodbye to my longstanding crush. the desire for my unrequited love to be reciprocated, the envy i felt at my friend receiving the love i wanted, they are feelings that i absolutely do not need as someone who's about to get married.

i plopped on my bed, lying back again.

haa...

i had begun to get over taehyung bit by bit, day by day.

i think i'm close to hundred percent over him now.

i'm sleepy...

-

i was walking along the corridor of our school when i felt someone is following me silently. i knew it, dahyun would be like this.

"dahyun, stop that. just act normally." i said as i turned to look at her.

"but still..." she's still guilty about the rumors the other day.

things settled down back at school.

that afternoon, principal kang made an announcement and asked the students to stop spreading baseless rumors.

it seems like dahyun was called to the principal's office and was given a stern lecture.

i don't know what happened to the new teacher that was the source of all of this, but miss park came back to school the next day and moved on like nothing happened.

everything went back to how it was.

except our friendship.

"i'm telling you it's fine. let's just go back to normal." i said once again.

"did we even argue? why are you acting so awkward?" i added, asking a few questions.

"i just..feel bad.." she said, avoiding making eye-contact with me.

"i'm the one who is mostly to blame, so why are you sorry? and you can't help that you're a blabbermouth." i sighed, making a joke so the atmosphere wouldn't be awkward anymore.

"ouch, you jerk...i'm going to just be me then." dahyun said, snatching my hand and walked towards some directions.

ack, what?

"what? dahyun, where are we going?!" i asked.

"we're going down to the fields. i heard something's going on between daniel sunbae and the new teacher." she laughed.

huh?

the new teacher?

-

i thought today's soccer game could be as normal as it seemed. i think i'm wrong.

everything felt different after the rumors has been denied.

suddenly, a ball nearly bumped to my face and i swear, i could feel how hard the ball being kick.

"what are you doing, daniel?" i asked the one who kicked the ball, kang daniel.

"aim better, man! what's up with you today?" i heard one of his friends shouted.

in other people's eyes, maybe they think this is accidental. but, i know something's up.

but, what's with me and daniel?

"my bad, my bad. i scared you, didn't i, mr. lee? i'll be more careful next time. sorry about that!" daniel said, walking towards me.
