my phone vibrated and i read the caller id.
jeon jungkook.
he's calling me? during this hour? thank god, i'm currently not in the teacher's office nor in the class.
i tapped on the green button, "hello?"
"is school out?" he asked.
"yes, i'm done for today." i told him, leaning back to the walls behind me.
"really? i'm heading that way right now."
"what? why? we met yesterd-ah, i mean.." why is it like i hate it when it comes to meet him? chaeyoung and her mouth!
"we haven't met four times this week yet." jungkook reminds me.
"yes, i know. but today's friday, so there's tomorrow and the day after too.." i said while playing with my shoes.
"we should meet up when we can. who knows if we'll be busy or not tomorrow or the day after?" jungkook doesn't want to give up.
"that's true, but-"
"how long will it take you? i can be there in about twenty minutes."
he and his determination.
"all right. i'll head out around the same time." i conceded.
"okay." with that the calls end and i looked at the phone.
that was unexpected. well, since we needed to meet anyway.
i heard a hard voice all of a sudden, "is this quiz a joke to you?! answer me! so pop quizzes are beneath you, huh?!" what is that?
that's mr. han's voice.
i quickly walked into the teacher's office to watch the scene.
"i instructed everyone to just leave questions blank if they didn't know the answers and look at what you did!" he scolded one of the students from my class?
"x, i'll save you. y, you, too." the girl said.
"what was your motive for writing this?!"
"i'm sorry.."
there mr. han goes again. he seems to be especially strict with my homeroom kids. could it be because what happened last year?
i just walked past through them.

"uh, mr. han? i don't believe there was a specific motive for this. i see kids scribbling like this on social media. it's not original, but it's kind of fun." not until this lee tae-yong decided to interrupt them.
"who are you to jump in? you're nothing but a new teacher." mr. han gritted his teeth, controlling his anger.
ha..tae-yong..he still hasn't figured out when he should step in and when he shouldn't. he just fanned the flames.
"the teacher of classroom five is miss park chaeyoung, right? tsk, of course she is. not surprised." my eyes snapped open, why am i being talk right now?
i turned around and walked towards him, "mr. han. what she did was harmless and wasn't malicious in any way. i'll give her a stern warning to not scribble on quiz papers going forward, so please let it go this-" before i could finish my sentence, he interrupted.
"what?"
"kim dahyun, apologize again and then come see me." i told the girl.
both dahyun and tae-yong bowed in front of mr. han and said sorry.
"i apologize as well. i'll see to it that this doesn't happen again." i once again apologized to him and slightly bowed. i really don't want to prolong this matter.
"you think a simple apology is enough?"
without thinking even more, i turned around to go back to my place but stopped on my track after hearing what mr. han said.
"young people these days, wether they're students or teachers, they're so full of themselves."
i turned around to look at him once again, "are talking to me?" while showing my blur face.
"i'm just saying." he said casually.
"that's right, and i'm asking you why you're saying that right here, right now?" i asked.
"what? am i not allowed to say what i want with my own mouth?"
"there are things you should and shouldn't say in the presence of my student as well as other teachers."

"now here, miss park. are you trying to lecture me?" asked mr. han coldly. he looked so pissed off.
"mr. han. are you acting like this because of the volunteer service activity report i refused to write for you last year? i'm not your assistant, mr. han. you had continuously asked me to write your reports for you, which i had done, and the one time i refused.." i really can't hold it anymore, i straight up asked what was the problem.
he looked so shocked and looked even more angry.
"hey, hey, miss park. you're starting to make me mad. why would you bring that up now? so you think i'm picking on you because of that?"
"yes, that's what it looks like to me."
"what?! say that again, miss park! do you really think i'm picking on you?!" mr. han abruptly stood up from his seat and shouted right in front of my face.
i gulped, felt a little nervous. i just looked at him in the eyes.
"now, now, mr. han. calm down." but then, here come mr. jeong yun-o to the rescue.
"mr. jeong, did you hear what miss park said to me? she said i'm picking on her." mr. han told mr. jeong, still looking angry as before.
"is it so wrong for me to lecture a student for not taking her studies seriously?" mr. han added.
i just hanging my head low, still felt a little nervous from the situation just now.
"of course not. it seems like maybe miss park misunderstood. you should just forget about it and get ready to head out. it's friday. you mentioned that you'd be going night fishing tonight." said mr. jeong, trying to calm mr. han down.
mr. han sighed.
"in my twenty-year teaching career, i've never been talked to like that. i can't believe it.." said mr. han while walking away.
and mr. jeong gave me a warm smile.
-
i walked out of the school building alone when mr. jeong called me, "miss park!"
before i could turned around to see him, he stood beside me, looking as dashing as everyday in his gym clothes.
"ah..mr. jeong. thank you for stepping in earlier." i thanked him and slightly bowed, really grateful with what he did in the teacher's office.
"no need to thank me. i wanted to defuse the situation and practically ended up agreeing with him..i'm sorry about that." he said, feeling a little guilty.
"it's fine. it's not like i did anything to be proud of anyway. i probably should've just let it go."
i normally wouldn't have said anything, but i'm having a hard time controlling my emotions lately.
"uh..miss park?" i looked at mr. jeong, why is he blushing?
"yes?"
"do you have a boyfriend?"
"what?" is that what i really heard? so, the rumor was true? the things ji-hyo said was true?
"if you don't, would you like to have dinner with me tonight?"
huh? what should i say?
"i'm seeing someone." i eventually said that, just don't mention jungkook's name.
"i-is that so? hahaha, i'm sorry! i shouldn't have said anything." mr. jeong laughed nervously, probably embarrassed with what he said just now.
"it's fine. thank you for the invitation though."
but then, the situation became silent and it is so awkward. at this point, i really hope that jungkook is already waiting so that i could just straight get into the car and end the moment here with mr. jeong.
"well, i'll be off then. mr. jeong, i hope-" before i could finish, someone familiar called me.
"chaeyoung!" he shouted.
hm? i turned to see where the voice came from.
huuuuuuuuuh?! jeon jungkook?!
why did he shouted? in front of the school?
"park chaeyoung!" he waved his hand as if i couldn't see him. who in the world wouldn't see that?
what is he doing?
