as i scrolled down my phone while laying on the couch, the bell suddenly rang indicating chaeyoung is home.

finally! i've been wanting to meet her. we're always busy.

i wanted to tell her what i found about that jungkook man.

i quickly get up to open the door, "is that you, chaeyoung?! i figured out who he is..." as before i could finish my sentence, my eyes popped out to see another man beside chaeyoung.

"jennie kim, even if you guys fought, you should've at least opened the door for him. he was sitting outside in tears." chaeyoung scolded me.

he's taehyung.

but, urghh. we're on a bad terms.

"what are you doing? come inside." said chaeyoung as she saw taehyung just stood at the door doing nothing.

"that's not what important right now. hurry up and sit." i walked to the living room and pat on the couch so that chaeyoung could sit beside me.

"i figured out who your baby's father is. i thought he looked familiar. don't get shocked, he's...the vice president of dae-han group." i eagerly told her the awaited news.

"oh...really?" but she seems not bother at all with the new information.

"hm? what's with that reaction? did you not understand what i just said? that man is chairman of your school." i told her again, is she okay? this is a crazy news!

"yeah, yeah.." that's her response.

"hey, do you not believe me? his face isn't that well-known and my mom said he'll soon take over the entire company. i think it was last year when mom introduced me to him at dae-han group's charity function." i added.

but then, i accidently looked at taehyung in the eyes.

"last year when?" asked taehyung suddenly.

"on december 31st. that was the day you asked me to go see the bell ringing on new y-" oh, crap! i closed my mouth.

i shouldn't tell him about that!

chaeyoung looked at me nervously. chae, please help me!

"so you ditched me that day to go meet another man?" taehyung asked, his voice sounds different.

"ah, taehyung. that's not it. her mom practically dragged her there. she said she didn't want to g-" chaeyoung backed me up.

i just shut my mouth with my hand still on my lips as i nodded, agreeing on everything what chae said.

both chaeyoung and i looked at taehyung nervously.

please, i really don't want this relationship getting worst at this point.

but then, taehyung suddenly stood up, making me and chae shocked with his behavior.

"jennie kim, i want to talk to you in private." said tahyung, sternly.

i'm so speechless. what do i do?

but, i really have to make the situation like before again. no more tears and sulking.

as i walked towards my bedroom, chaeyoung mouthed me some words, "you dummy."

as i closed the door behind me, i started, "uh, tae...well..i'm sorry for lying that day. but it wasn't on purpose. i wanted to go see the bell-ringing ceremony with you, too..you know how my mom is." and plopped on the bed.

searching for the best words to explain my situation.

"since i didn't follow my mom's footsteps, i don't know if she's just worried about me or being selfish, but you know how pushy she can get. a-and of course, that wasn't a blind date or anything. but mom said she'll come and drag me home if i didn't go so.." i added, not looking at him in the eye. so nervous if he won't believe me.

"that's not what i wanted to talk about." he suddenly spoke.

i looked up to meet his eyes.

"about yesterday.." he added.

"ah.." so he wanted to talk about yesterday?

he dragged the chair from my study table and sat on it.

"i know you've heard this before, but chaeyoung and i grew up together like siblings. our mothers are close. chae's mom left her with us often." he started.

"the first day she came to my house, she didn't laugh at all. do you know what her first words were?"

'ma'am, has my mom abandoned me?'

"my mom said that if she had cried and threw a tantrum instead, those words wouldn't have been so depressing...i feel like i understand what she meant by that." he continued.

i don't understand what he's saying. what with this sudden confession about chaeyoung?

"what is it that you want to say?" i asked.

"chaeyoung is family. to me, she's like a younger sister. i've never thought about chae as a woman. she just draws out my protective instincts. it's like a habit. can you understand where i'm coming from?" he asked.

he just looked at me as i remained silent and i looked away.

he smiled, "jen, i'm telling you that i think of her like family and i'm protective of her out of habit. but if you feel hurt because of her, i'll try and fix that habit." he added.

my eyes snapped open, this is not what i want. now, i realized how far i've go.

"i didn't realize i'd have it this bad, but jen, i must love you a lot." he confessed.

why is he being like this?

"w-what are you saying all of a sudden?" i asked him, looking nervous as ever.

"my business is going to fail before it even kicks off officially. since you weren't talking to me, i couldn't focus on work. i waited outside here all day today to see if i could talk to you.." he sighed.

"if namjoon knew i was here, he'd probably murder me." he added while smiling at me.

"then just die!" i can feel my face burning just by seeing his smiles at me that way.

"meanie..are done being mad at me?" he asked as he stood up.

"we'll see." the stubborn i am won't let this slide easily even if i've regretted what i've done yesterday.

"do you want to see something?" he suddenly asked.

see what, huh?

taehyung softly put his left hand on my cheek, "i'm going to kiss you."

"have you lost your mind? chae is in the living room." i reminded him.

"that's why, it's only going to be a kiss." he said as he deeply kissed me until the both of us plopped on the bed.

"you said it was only going to be a kiss.." i whispered to him, seeing him this up closed making my heart flutter even more.

it's like we're falling in love all over again.

a little while later, taehyung and i got out of the room and i could hear chaeyoung cursed, "what the hell...?" after seeing both of us all flushed and red.
