《rosekook prompts.》Christmas. 1/2

Jeon Jungkook has learned that Christmas is a big deal to her.

When they first started seeing each other, Park Chaeyoung would tell him stories about the holidays she'd spend with family away in the snow or at home in Melbourne in the Australian summer heat, having a barbeque with family. He recollects the complete shock and gasp of horror on her face when he told her that Christmas wasn't really a big deal for him growing up, mainly just an excuse for him and the other boys to go drinking in the dorm. In her words– it was a complete travesty, that Christmas was spent away from family.

No matter how busy the law firm was, or whatever was going on in their family life, the Parks always celebrated well.

She told him about the time when her parents were fighting over something petty, and were on the verge of divorce but came together during Christmas because it meant a lot to their family (and the kids). It was from that trip that they rekindled their love, hence Park Chaeyoung always believed in the power of Christmas. Her fondest memory was "negotiating" with her parents about opening one present before midnight at least, though later found out that her parents purposely allowed it just to get her and her older sister, Alice Park to stop annoying them.

Park Chaeyoung and Jeon Jungkook have been serious about one another for a while. In fact– he plans on proposing to her within the next two years, at the latest.

But it was the first time he'd been spending Christmas with her family.

Sure, they'd met before on various occasions, but it was the first Christmas they'd spent together.

The first time was meant to be last Christmas, but the pair had gotten into a fight a week before and decided that it wasn't the right time.

Hence why, Jeon Jungkook thinks that he make a good impression, this time around.

If the time is right and the vibes are good, he plans on asking her parents for permission to marry her in advance.

Jeon Jungkook is in a wonderful mood, despite the distance.

Mainly because his girlfriend is overly affectionate over FaceTime and keeps sending him presents, whether in Qatar or South Korea.

He'd asked her what gift he should get for her family, and she tells him there was no need.

"Just come and enjoy, my parents love to host Christmas. Your presence is enough."

But Jeon Jungkook knows better, as he learned from his hyungs that when your girlfriend says not to get anything, it means you must get her everything.

He needs everything to be perfectly well and what's worse is that his girlfriend is a million miles away on tour and can't help him like she usually did.

Trying his best to recall every conversation he's had with his girlfriend about her family up to date, he remembers how her sister joked about being jealous at Lalisa Manoban becoming an ambassador for celine because of how much she adored the small wallet. And he recalls the way one time during dinner, Park Chaeyoung's mother fawned over her new YSL wallet.

Two down, one to go.

Her father.

And he knew if marriage was ever going to be on the table, he needed a gift that would win his heart.

Park Chaeyoung is very jetlagged.

It had been days since her final show for the year in the Netherlands, yet her body still hadn't adjusted to all the changes.

Her boyfriend, being the expert in fighting jetlag told her that it was normal, especially since it had been a while since they'd toured.

Hence why he spends the last couple of days leading up to Christmas tending to her girlfriend, cooking her food, lots of snuggles and endless nights of Christmas movies on Netflix.

She wakes up to the sound of the television, and her boyfriend is carefully attentive to the screen.

"Honey, just sleep some more," her keeps his eyes on the screen yet his hands carefully move to tap on her thigh, squeezing it over the blanket, "... you're tired."

Somehow, it makes her remember all the times when she'd wait in bed scrolling through social media while he was passed out beside him (like that fated time where she accidentally posted it on her story and his face was barely visible asleep on the bed.

"I'm sorry, I'm so tired," she cooes before snuggling her face closer to his chest.

"It's okay, sleep some more," he kisses her against her forehead, "... but you need to eat, tonight we'll make the long drive to your parents holiday home."

Before she could protest and ask him to stay, he creeps out and bed to what she assumes is the kitchen. As much as she wishes to follow, her body feels like it weighs a million kilograms and instead she falls down against his side of the bed.

As the drawer accidentally opens, she peers through it.

Seeing a blue tiffany and co box.

Park Chaeyoung smiles, thinking that she'll wait for the day to come.

The day where she'll say yes, one day.
