"You must be so happy right?" Jisoo Kim teases as the girls sit in a circle, still recovering from an intense dance practice, "... Jungkook's been getting really ripped."
At the comment, Lalisa Manoban claps her hands erratically, head falling back as the sound of her voice erupts suddenly, so loud that Park Chaeyoung cannot help but give her death glares.
"Ahh, don't say that. Rosie is jealous that suddenly all the girls in the world are looking at her man's abs," Jennie Kim jokes, "... I get it, but Rosie, Fake Love is doing so well and just remember that with each click, he's making more money - money to spoil you."
Lalisa Manoban at this point falls backwards onto the ground, laughing at the jest coming from her older group mates. Perhaps, it's her favourite past time, to tease her best friend.
"Guys, it's not like that..." Park Chaeyoung takes a deep inhale, brows furrowing in disapproval.
Lalisa Manoban, being the caring best friend that she is, notices that something's wrong. She decides to wait until they get back to their dorm, to bring it up.
It had become a routine since the pair began dating, usually after dinner between the times of 7pm-9pm, he'd give her a call (depending on his schedule) and she'd always rush to the bedroom, locking the door shut to talk to him. Sometimes, she'd fall asleep and wake up in the middle of the night to get a glass of water, and he could hear her giggling as she passed her door, and even once, she could've sworn she heard them doing some not-so-holy activities over the phone.
But ever since Jeon Jungkook had been preparing for fake love their calls have been later and sometimes, she'd see how Park Chaeyoung waits in the living room, waiting for the call. So long in fact, that she ends up falling asleep on the couch.

That evening, things were quite different because Park Chaeyoung leaves her phone entirely in the living room, and heads to her room. Fifteen minutes, then half an hour and then over an hour passes and she doesn't go to retrieve it.
It was unlike her.
Lalisa Manoban decides to check in on her, knocking on her door and letting herself in (she knows, a bad habit) only to see her best friend laying on the bed, absently staring at the ceiling.
"Are you okay, Chaeyoungie?" Lalisa Manoban asks as she slowly walks towards the edge of the bed, sitting on the side of it, "... what's wrong?"
Park Chaeyoung takes a deep inhale, "... I'm tired."
"Do you want me to call Jungkook for you?" She suggests, remembering the way months ago, she'd asked the girls to call him when she was having a panic attack because he was the 'calm to her storm.'
Silence.
"Are you two fighting?" She double-checks.
"I'm tired," she repeats, taking a deep breath before turning her body to face her, but not bothering to move up from her bed, "... I'm tired of him prioritising the gym above me."
Ah, that's why she was bothered about the abs thing.
"I'm sure he's only doing that because he wants to impress you," she tries to consolidate, only for the other woman to glare at her as she slowly gets up, positioning herself next to her best friend, "... have you told him about how you feel?"
"I know that, he told me that his abs were only for me," she tells her causally.
Yuck, remind me why I'm listening to this again?!
Lalisa Manoban tries hard not to puke at the words, nodding.
"Yet...?"

Park Chaeyoung sighs, "... we barely have time to talk anymore. He's either having a personal training session, busy filming workout videos to show to his hyungs or too tired from the workout. I miss the times where I was his only priority after dinner - nowadays, I feel as though I'm fighting for his time and attention."
Lalisa Manoban leans in and hugs her from the side, "... it's okay Chaeyoungie... what you feel is valid, but you need to communicate it with him."
And she does, apparently.
A week later, Park Chaeyoung who usually only does pilates, yoga and cardio suddenly is unboxing a pair of boxing gloves, takes out her phone and sends it as a picture to God knows who.
"I thought you hated boxing," Lalisa Manoban questions, recalling the time where the pair did a session together and whereby the blonde swore she'll never do any hard sports again.
She turns, smiling, "... I'm working out with Jungkook this evening, so I bought some boxing gloves. Look, they're pink, aren't they so cute?"
Lalisa Manoban wants to tease her, but doesn't have the heart to do so when Park Chaeyoung looks at her with bliss and excitement.
"I guess you two resolved things?" Lalisa Manoban questions.
She nods, "... thanks for you advice. We spoke about it and he told me that working out is important for him too and said we should try to do it together and have quality time on a regular. Not just video calls. His personal trainer has a private room too, so we're safe from the media."

Park Chaeyoung never thought she'd see the day where she enjoyed working out, but in what was something she did to spend time with her boyfriend, because her new obsession.
A healthy obsession, that is.
Park Chaeyoung and Jeon Jungkook have a habit of sending each other progress videos, and sometimes she'd cheekily send videos of her on the stairmaster just because she knew he was an ass man. Though, she knows, he hates when she wears cropped tops in the gym (at least for those instances when he wasn't around).
So when Jeon Jungkook forgets to send her a good luck text after her first show, she decides to get revenge.
She posts snippets from her workout on social media.
Like clockwork, as expected, she gets a text from him.

Second Patriarch: Rise of the Liu Clan
After the death of his father, Liu Zhu must prevail over his older brother in order to become the Liu Clan's second patriarch and bring his family to glory within Yutian Country. In the process Liu Zhu will come across lucky chances, have brushes with death, and slowly expand his world beyond that of the small country he lives in. NOTE: Currently dropped for various reasons. The short version of why I dropped it is because even the shortest form of my outlining resulted in a main plot of at least 300 - 400 chapters and I messed up massively by directly adapting it from my first attempt at this, which was a choose your own adventure on another website. It did not make the jump well at all imo.

That said, there is meaning and significance to the title, except that it will be unveiled only much later into the story. Magical elements and the like will not be a factor in most of the story until the very end. tl;dr: This is not fantasy, magic doesn't play a role in the story. --- Updates: Will try to post a chapter once every 2 days PS. This is my first novel so there might be several issues in various aspects which I might not notice so comments are highly appreciated. --- This is more to add pressure to myself rather than anything else... but anyways the story is now part of the pledge!
