《Haikyuu!! x Male reader one-shots》- Kyoutani Kentarou -

December 19. 2012,
Here's my first entry. Kiyo bought this for me when I turned 13, but I never wrote in it. But... I feel like it, since everyone would be dead by time that I finish writing this. It sucks to die young I guess, but if anyone finds this, I should give some context.
It's predicted on the Mayan calendar that the world will end on the 21st of this month. At first I didn't believe it because the same thing happened with y2k, and the whole thing with superstition is stupid, but I think it's gonna happen. Buildings collapsed from the many earthquakes that happened, tsunami warnings are going off everywhere, Mount Fuji erupted 2 times this month, and there are storms everywhere. Here in Miyagi, there's no tsunamis and tornados or anything. There are droughts, and earthquakes, though, and some buildings have already collapsed.
I've already accepted that I'll probably die in a few days, so I'm trying to make the most of it. I'm gonna go to school, and stay there with my best friend, (Y/n), until the world ends. I'll bring this diary, and document everything that happens within these few days. Since the world is ending I might even confess to (Y/n), but I doubt he'd like me back. He's too good for me, way out of my league. He's an angel, and he's so caring... and I'm the scum of the earth, an asshole. I'd die for him, he's too precious for this world. It's even a miracle that I was able to befriend him. Plus, I'm not even sure if he likes boys. Whatever. I'm gonna go to Aoba Johsai now. If I don't write during these past days, I'm probably dead. I'll try to write everyday.
December 19. 2021- part 2.
I got to Aoba Johsai. Only (Y/n) and I are here, and we decided to stay in one of the classrooms; class 2-7, because we never managed to get to that class. We wanted to join that class, but we were never smart enough to do so. Oh god, now he's giggling at me for writing in a diary. I mean, it is out of character, I guess, but I want to document my dying days. Anyway, we each bought stuff here. I got water, this diary, some snacks, food, and my phone. And (Y/n) brought food for us, as well as more water, and a first aid kit in case we get injured. He also brought a futon for us to share, and that's kind of it. We're about to go to sleep now, so we'll see what happens in the morning.

"Hey Kentarou. What're ya up to?" (Y/n) asked me.
I looked up. "What?"
"Ooh? What's this, your diary?" He giggled. "That's so out of character of you."
"Yeah, I guess it is. But, you know, I wanted to try something new before I die."
"Don't say that. I know they said the chances of Earth not ending at this point is like, what? 0.5%? But still. A chance is a chance."
"How are you so optimistic?" I asked him.
"I'm not sure myself. But... I know that if I'm dying, then I won't mind dying with you."
"..."
I couldn't say anything.
"Anyway, I'm gonna go to the bathroom. See you in a bit."
.
.
.
"What the fuck is that noise?!" I shouted as I heard a shake. No... it was more like a cracking, quaking sound. (Y/n) groggily woke up and looked around.
"Uh, Kentarou...?" He panickedly said as he got up from the futon. "I think that was an earthquake..."
"Holy shit, what?!" I exclaimed.
"Fuck! Oh fuck! We gotta get out of here!"
I grabbed some bottles of water, my diary, and (Y/n)'s first aid kit. and (Y/n) grabbed the food, some more bottles of water, his big ass pillow, and we booked it out of the classroom, but then...
Thuddddd
"Shit!" (Y/n) screamed as he tackled me, and we fell first on the hard floors of the Seijoh campus. A pillar and a portion of a classroom wall had fallen and blocked us from exiting the building, as well as prevented us from going back into the halls we just ran from.
"Shit... are you OK, Ken?" (Y/n) asked.
"I'm fine." I answered as I got up.
"Thank goodness..."
"Yeah, but we're still stuck in this... hallway. Which hall is this?"
"Third year hall."
"Oh."
"We should rest. We're gonna need a lot of energy tomorrow to try to get out." (Y/n) said as he pulled his pillow from a random place on the floor.

"But... what if we can't get out?"
"Then... I don't know... if we can't get out, at least we have each other, right?"
"I guess."
And with that, (Y/n) was asleep. I looked at the time on the hallway watch, and it was around 4 am.
December 21. 2012
The building collapsed. We're stuck in the third year hall, unfortunately. But at least (Y/n) and I are still together. I don't think we'll be able to get out. We've been trying for days to get out, but we just couldn't. We've been here for 2 days, and we've drained all our water supplies yesterday. Since we're probably gonna die here, I think I might just confess. I'll see how that goes.
"What are you writing, Ken?" (Y/n) asked.
"Nothing. Absolutely nothing." I said as I quickly shut the book.
"I saw something about a confession. Who are you gonna confess to?" (Y/n) asked. I saw in his eyes, he's smiling but... he looked kind of sad.
"Nobody." I lied.
"Really? Don't need to be shy, who's the lucky person?" He asked.
"It's you." I mumbled.
"It's who now?" He asked, not hearing what I said.
"I said it's you."
His cheeks started gaining colour. "Really? Me?"
"Yeah, you."
"Why me?" (Y/n) asked.
"Because you're an angel. You're all I'm not, and I wish I were as good as you."
He looked taken aback. "Huh? I'm an angel? Please, I'm the devil in disguise." He did an Oikawa wink.
I rolled my eyes. "Really now?"
"Nah, I'm just joking. But I'm glad you feel the same way I do."
"You like me too?"
"Yeah. I do."
He smiled.
December 20. 2012- part 2
He said he likes me too.
"Since we're probably gonna be stuck together for a while, we can just cuddle or something, right?"
I looked at him.
"Sure, I guess."
We huddled in the middle of the hallway, and I heard something.
"Uh... what was... that?" (Y/n) asked.
"I think that was... a crack... in the building..."
I started panicking, once I realized what I just said. "Oh shit. Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit."
I hugged him. "It'll be OK, OK?" He hugged me. "We won't... die... or anything."
"Yeah... yeah."
...
"Kentarou, I love you."
"... you what?"
"I love you."
"... I love you, too."
I hugged him tighter, and I started losing consciousness.
.
.
.
"Iwa-chan, why isn't Mad Dog-chan answering my calls?!" Oikawa exclaimed.
I sighed. "I tried calling him too, Oikawa. Maybe his phone died, or something. Let's just check inside the school."
Oikawa nodded, and we walked into the school... or what is left of the school. See, we heard that there was quite an earthquake yesterday, and we heard that Kyoutani and his best friend were going to be staying in Seijoh. We've been trying to contact Kyoutani the whole day yesterday, and we got in town at 6 am, since we went to travel in Tokyo.
We ran around the school, when we finally reached the third year hall, or what was left of it, and... we found them. They were in a cuddling position, and there were a shit ton of empty water bottles around the hall.
"Iwa-chan... they're not breathing..." Oikawa said, horrified, as he checked their pulse.
"What?!" I exclaimed.
"I think they've been dead for a while... maybe an hour or so..."
I took a breath. "Let's give them a proper burial... yeah?"
"Yeah."

8 575Tim the Engineer
Summoned against his will to a world of swords and magic, an engineering student struggles to find a way home under the shadow of a world devouring threat. ***************************** Updates: 5/13/19: Revisions to several chapters for clarity, grammar, and style. 4/29/19: A short side story and artwork has been added to the blog. 4/8/19: A Side Story has been updated on my new blog (every writer is required to have one). https://talesfromliahar.wordpress.com/ ***************************** “The summoning scenarios are broken down into groups of ten.” Emi Ito stated. “Don’t, don’t you dare say another word.” Muttered Genzo Uchida. His eyes had turned bloodshot and his hands shook with rage. “The first thirty…” “Shut up!” Genzo bellowed “How dare you help these disrespectful gaijin?” Flecks of spit and madness flew from his face, his fist raised ready to strike. But Emi did not flinch, instead she was about ready to continue when Yuma Takeuchi interrupted her. “Uchida, please,” her sweet sounding words could melt ice. “I think we will have a better chance of getting home if we all work together.” When she glanced up with her sleepy looking eyes at Genzo Uchida he deflated visibly. “Were not getting home.” Uchida said coolly. “Group summoning, large, that puts us in the 60 series. No one came to greet us after five minutes of arrival. That leaves scenarios 68 and 69. In scenario 68 there is something that binds the large group together; they are all classmates or a single family. But thanks to the gaijin” he spit out the word “I think we are scenario 69 with no way home.” Ikko Inoue’s eyes went wide, while Katsukno and Hayata started muttering to themselves. Tim took on a serious look and rubbed his scruffy chin. Emi maintained her stoic expression while trying to find something to refute. McKenzie glanced at Randall and giggled. Randall took the prompting of his teammate and followed up by approaching Genzo. “Uh, so we are in a sixty-nine?” “Yes.” Replied Genzo with the seriousness of someone who’s life was about to end. McKenzie covered her mouth and snickered. “You and me, were stuck in a sixty-nine situation?” Randall pushed with a grin. “Yes, we are all stuck in a sixty-nine scenario together!” Genzo retorted in anger. McKenzie fell on her butt laughing. “What the hell is so funny?” Demanded Genzo, whose face had turned red. “It’s a problem with the automatic translation.” Retorted Tim. Randall, who seemed unable to quit started in again “So, about this sixty-ni…” Genzo interrupted Randall with a swift punch to the face. But, because of their height difference it was a bit of an uppercut that left Randall rattled. Tim and Ikko moved to step in between the two, but Genzo showed no further hostility. Instead he just stared at his clenched fist with such intensity it grabbed the attention of the room. “I unlocked a skill.” He said bluntly. ***************************** This is not a light novel, but people who like light novels should enjoy the themes of this book. ***************************** A Map of the Region

8 172Ode to Fallen Angels
Jericho, the land of humanity, squirms in pain. Magic has been forbidden for so long in this so called "Age of Silence", that all Arcane knowledge has been presumed lost and irrecoverable, and the echoes of God's Will grow fainter with every passing year. The sight of Demihuman caravans is less frequent every day, as the likes of orcs and elves have learned to no longer beg for help from those who despise them. Clearly, they can expect more from the voracious wild lands than from humankind. Many have succumbed to despair, some driven mad by their fruitless efforts to bring back a Golden Age that they only ever read about in books. And in the middle of it all, in an old chapel lost in the Eastern lands, young Gabrielle lives in complete ignorance. She is another orphan living under the mercy of the Church of the Saints; one bearing the mark of evil in her red hair, the telltale sign of a Witch. In an Age of the Silent, the Prejudiced, and the Hateful, she clings to a single hope: that one day, be it in life or maybe after it all ends, she may find herself forgiven of her sin. The sin of being born.
