《Haikyuu!! x Male reader one-shots》- Akaashi Keiji -
Advertisement
I was at a party. There were people who were here for the free alcohol, some people were dancing, some were smoking. Personally I'm playing poker with my drunk travel buddy, Yuu, and my cousin in law, Ryuu, while looking out for my best friend, Keiji, who is getting drunk on rum, and yelling at his on again, off again boyfriend called Marshall (whom I've never met, but dislike a fuck ton). See, I'm driving for a bunch of people tonight, and I NEED to be sober. Soon, I noticed that Marshall and Keiji's argument got worse, and I decided that it was about time we go back our houses.
"Yuu, Ryuu, I'm gonna get Keiji, Kozume-san, Kuroo-san and Bokuto-san, OK? It's about time we left." I told the two as I got up. "Get into the car."
"OK!" Ryuu yelled.
The duo raced their way to my car, and I went to get everyone.
Kozume-san was sober as well, so I easily got him to get Kuroo-san and Bokuto-san to the car. But Keiji...
"YOU LIAR!"
I tapped on his shoulder.
"Calm down, OK? Sorry, he gets aggressive when he's drunk." I apologized on Keiji's behalf as I rubbed circles on Keiji's back as he threw up on the floor.
"Wait! Akaashi, please! I didn't mean it when I had sex with her! I was drunk!"
Oh, so THAT'S why Keiji's so mad.
"Are you Keiji's ex?" I asked.
"Won't be for long, I'll get him back." Marshall replied. Is he drunk or high? Maybe both? I don't think he knows that I'm Keiji's best friend.
I cringed internally. "Right."
"Oh, but you're pretty attractive, too. Why don't you give me your number?"
"My number isn't an STD to be passed around in your little shithole. No. Thanks."
"Ugh. Whatever. Who are you waiting for, anyways? It seems they won't be here in a while, so why not... come with me and my crew, and smoke a joint or two?"
"Ummmmmmmmm, y'all definitely ACTUALLY have STDs." I gagged in my mouth. "And for the record, I'm the driver, so I'm waiting for no-one."
"UGH, (Y/n) let's get OUT of here." Keiji said.
"Of course. Let's go."
Keiji and I quickly got out of the party, and went to my car. Everyone was waiting.
"Sorry for the wait, guys. I got into it a bit with that Marshall guy"
"You fought someone?" Kozume-san asked.
"Not quite. Anyways, let's go."
And so, with that, I drove to each of the guys' houses.
"OK, Keiji. We're a block away from your apartment."
I looked at Keiji. He was sleeping already. His sleeping face looked so peaceful, it's hypnotizing. It's been a long while since he's looked this peaceful. Ever since he started things with Marshall- HOLY SHIT, A CAR- OK, I almost crashed. Anyway, he'll have some serious hangover in the morning. I pulled over at his apartment parking lot, and carried him into his apartment. I put him onto his bed, and pulled the sheets over his body. I decided to go to the kitchen, and made some breakfast for Keiji, since I know he'll wake up, and his head will explode. I finished cooking, and went back to my place.
I sat on the couch, and played some games on my Nintendo, before I finally decided to go to sleep.
I wish Keiji would just break up with Marshall officially, I dislike him so much. He makes me puke in my mouth everytime I say his name. If anything, I think it'd be better if Keiji dated ME. We'd go on tiny little dates at the beach, and we'd cuddle near a bonfire while we're camping up with Yuu. And I'd make breakfast for us. And if we have kids, I'll take them to school while he goes to work... all that could happen if he cuts Marshall off, and dates me instead. Wait, why do I even care so much if Keiji dates me or not? I'm just being selfish. If he really loves Marshall, then I can't intervene... but he's not treating him right. I mean, Keiji is so precious, so beautiful, so gentle, and just a wonderful person overall. He's everything I'm not, and I wanna be there for him. I want him to not waste his time on Marshall, not when there's so many better people, including me. Wait, do I like him? Ugh whatever.

I blushed at the text exchange. How can I not after realizing I like Keiji. I decided to push that thought aside, and go to my job as well. I'm an auto racer, and I gotta practice. This is also why I don't drink, I cannot get into an accident.
"Good speed today, (Y/n). Could be a bit faster, though. Wanna try again?" My manager, Chiyo, asked.
"I'm a bit tired. I think I'll eat lunch first."
"Alright." She replied as we both got into the cafeteria.
"Is there something on your mind? You know you need to have a clear mind to drive, so what's up?" Chiyo asked.
I sighed. "Chi, I think... I-I think I'm in love with Keiji."
"Keiji..? Your best friend, Akaashi Keiji? That Keiji?" Chiyo asked.
"Yeah. But he's been seeing this guy called Marshall, and he's not treating him right. Last night, he said he slept with some girl. They've been on and off for so long. And I feel like I'm being selfish for liking him because MAYBE Keiji actually likes Marshall."
"I see. Well, I'd rather not pry into you, and Akaashi-san's personal lives, but... chances are that if they're on and off, maybe Akaashi-san's reason to stay with this Marshall guy isn't love, but rather lust. From what I know of him, he is a rational person, and I reckon he'd date someone who doesn't, well, cheat on him. Maybe he's just in a dark place, and Marshall happened to be his route of escape."
I nodded. "That could be it."
Chiyo smiled. "In any event, if you ever find yourself in a dark place, you can talk to me, alright? I'm here to help you."
I smiled. "Of course. You're the best."
I sighed deeply. Today was exhausting, and despite my protests, I was dragged to yet another one of these cursed parties by Yuu. What's good was that at least Marshall wasn't at this party, and Keiji is here. I'm the driver, again, and I need to be sober. I don't see the point of not being able to drink at a party, seriously.
"(Y/n)."
"Oh, yes, Keiji?" I asked.
Keiji was completely wasted, his face red from alcohol, and in his hand was a shot of, what I assume is, gin or whiskey.
"Let's drive up to Marshall's, and annoy the ever living shit out of that cheater!" Keiji suggested as he slurred on his words.
I smirked. "OK? But I don't know where he lives."
Keiji smirked.
Next thing I know, Keiji's drunk ass was driving up, and down Marshall's street, making as much noises as he can. Beeping the car horn, igniting the engine, etc.
"This is getting out of hand, Keiji! We could get arres-"
Before I could even finish my sentence, the police had arrested us, and took us to jail.

"Ugh, I can't believe this!" I exclaimed exasperatedly.
I watched as the police approached us. "Do you have a lawyer?"
"Of course I do." I sighed. I looked back at Keiji who vomited on the floor... again. "Goddammit, we can't stay like this."
"Go call your lawyer." The police said.
I was let out of the cell, and made a call to Chiyo.
"Hello, Kobayashi Chiyo speaking. How can I help you?"
"Chi! Thank god you answered." I sighed.
"(Y/n)! Did something happen?"
"YES. Keiji and I got arrested. He was drunk driving, and was disrupting the peace. Can you call Fujima-san please?"
"OK... are you at the police station?"
"Yep."
"OK, amazing.. Fujima-san should be in contact with you in a minute or so, and you both should be out."
"OK, thanks Chi."
"It's my job, it's fine. See you."
"See ya."
I hung up the phone. "My lawyer should call back in about a minute or so."
"I thought you were to call your lawyer."
"I'm just contacting my manager, so she calls my lawyer."
The police escorted me back into the wretched cell that seened to have been cleaned, and Keiji had finally stopped puking all over the place.
"Look, we cleaned the cell, and made your friend brush his teeth. We also gave him some medicine, and when it kicks in, he'll fall asleep." The police said as he locked the cell door again.
"Thanks for that, Mr. Police."
I fell onto the poor excuse of a futon, tired. "Keiji, you need to go to sleep. I'm taking us back home."
"I'm not ready to sleep!" Keiji exclaimed. He crawled over to the futon, and collapsed on me.
"Ack- get off, I can't breathe!" I complained.
He got on his knees, but I can feel his crotch on my stomach.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK.
Ahem.
"Keiji... your... crotch is on my stomach."
"Oh... sorry."
He got off me, and laid down on the futon next to mine. He rolled to face me, and so did I.
"Um..." I blushed. I covered my face. "Well... hah, never mind."
He rolled closer to me. We could cuddle in this position.
"Do you, for real, like me?" Keiji asked.
"Um, you're still drunk." I said.
"Don't dodge the topic..." Keiji said.
"Fine, so what if I do...?"
Keiji leaned closer to me. Our lips barely graze each other. I really thought he'd go for it, but... he might still be drunk. It's like I'm taking advantage of a drunk person.
"Keiji..."
His hand held onto my chin gently.
"Ahem."
We looked at the police man who had opened the cell door. We've been released.
The ride back to Keiji's apartment was silent. He had fallen asleep a little while into the ride. The song Pills N Potions by Nicki Minaj played faintly on the radio, as I had turned down the volume to 5. He tried to kiss me... I wanted that, true, but it's a guilt complex. He was drunk. If he's gonna kiss me, I want him to at least be sober. And... I don't know if he'll regret it or not. Ugh, now shit's gonna be so awkward with Keiji... I don't want him to leave me. I... love him. I care so much for him, I want him to love me back. I want him to love me back. I dropped him at his apartment, went to a liquor store, and the rest of the night became a blur.
I woke up the next morning, a hard headache. I looked at the floor. I emptied about 20 cans of Heineken. I groaned. I'm not surprised. I called in sick to work, and made instant noodles for break fast. I remembered... that. I sighed, and chugged down some water, but... I can't get that image out of my head.
I stayed in my room for a while, and got a text from Keiji.
(y/n)
what happened last night?
nishinoya and tanaka were calling me frantically that they couldn't reach you, and that you left them at the party we were at last night
———
I ignored the message, and tossed the phone onto my couch. I decided to get some more beer.
"(Y/n)...! You're a mess! And you called in sick to drink, you've reached a new low." Chiyo scolded me. It was a couple mornings after I day drank... well, afternoon drank.
"Sorry... I needed this." I apologized.
She sighed. "Oh, so your excuse is you "needed this"? What else do you need? To get fired? Get your shit together, (Y/n), you've been drunk for DAYS."
I groaned. "Sorry..."
"Doesn't matter. Let's just get you cleaned up."
Chiyo put down her basket of fruits that she came to visit me with.
"You're lucky I didn't find a corpse in here. You could've died of alcohol poisoning if I came here a day or two too late."
"Why did you come here, anyway?" I asked.
"Your friends were worried as hell since they couldn't reach you. I was, as well. The agency told me to check up on you, as well as Nishinoya-san, Tanaka-san, and Akaashi-san. We're worried of you."
I sighed. "I... don't know what to say. I really am sorry."
"I know. You should apologize to Akaashi-san, though. Out of all of us, I'd say he's the most worried. He is hysteric right now."
"I need to apologize!"
"You do. But you also need to clean up before you do anything."
I walked to Akaashi's apartment. I brought a box of nanohana no karashiae for him. I rung the doorbell. The peephole opened, and soon the door opened as well.
"(Y/n)!" Keiji exclaimed as he hugged me. "Thank goodness you're alright."
I hugged him back.
"I'm so sorry I made you worried," I apologized.
"What were you even doing? You weren't even reading your messages, nor were you answering your calls." Keiji asked as he let go of me.
"Ahahaha, funny story, I binge drank." I came clean.
"You- this is why nobody wants you drinking."
"Hahaha... sorry. Umm, here. An apology gift." I said as I handed him the nanohana no karashiae.
"Thank you. But, what happened when we left the party?" Keiji asked. He fiddled with his fingers a bit, too.
"Well, long story short, you drove up to Marshall's while drunk, and forced me into the back seat of my car. Then we got arrested because you were making as much noises with my car as you can, and we went to jail, then the police asked me to call my lawyer to get us out, and you vomitted everywhere in the cell, and the police had to give you medicine, and a toothbrush to brush your teeth with while I was calling my lawyer. They cleaned the puke up, if you were wondering, and then you got so wasted you tried to kiss me-" I rambled.
"Wait. I tried to kiss you?" Keiji asked.
"Yeah... but you were drunk, so I didn't mind- wait, no, I mean, I didn't- actually, forget it, you know what I mean. You were drunk, so it wasn't like offending or something like that. Gosh, I sound like a complete moron trying to explain this to you."
Keiji chuckled. "You don't, and I'm sorry for trying to kiss you."
"It's fine. You didn't really do anything..." I blushed.
"... (Y/n), um, do you... like me? In a romantic way."
I blushed even more. "What? Why the sudden question?"
"I was just wondering..."
I sighed. "I won't lie, I do. Please don't hate me..."
"I can't hate you, (Y/n). You know, I've liked you this whole time, and just hadn't realized. I only realized when you made that breakfast for me how much you've done for me in the past. And how much you care about me... and that's when I started thinking... maybe I like you."
I clinged onto him as if he would fade away magically if I didn't. He hugged back very tightly. We stayed like that for a while... I didn't want it to ever end.
