《Haikyuu!! x Male reader one-shots》- Sugawara Koushi -

Sugawara was studying at university. He had been sent to the UK for training as an assistant teacher. All the past Karasuno boys volleyball club third years were separated, but they talk together through facetime calls.
"Asahi, I heard you and Noya are dating, is that true?" Daichi asked.
"They're dating? I never thought that'd happen!" Sugawara exclaimed in excitement.
"Yeah, we are." Asahi replied.
"Congratulations." Kiyoko smiled.
"Kiyoko, aren't you dating Tanaka now?" Asahi asked.
"Yeah."
"That's great! Congratulations!" Sugawara exclaimed.
"Mhm, congrats." Daichi smiled.
"How are things with Michimiya, though, Sawamura?" Kiyoko asked Daichi.
"They're fine." Daichi admitted.
"That's great!" Sugawara smiled.
"What about you, Suga? Are you... dating?"
"Ummmmmm..." Suga laughed shyly. "Nope."
"Oh."
"I'm just focusing on teaching right now. Although I wanted to teach younger kids, they had me assist joint teachers."
"Joint teachers?" Kiyoko asked.
"The school I'm teaching at right now teaches from elementary school to high school, and some teachers teach elementary up to high school."
"Mhm. That's a lot of work." Asahi commented.
"Yeah, but I only teach elementary students, so I'm fine."
"I see."
"Say, aren't you in the UK?" Daichi asked.
"Yeah." Sugawara replied.
"Who are you assisting?" Asahi asked.
"A really kind lady. Her name is Rae."
"Cool."
"What about you, Daichi? How's law school?"
"Eeeeh, it's alright. Just studying law, you know?"
Sugawara had a good time talking to his friends, but... he felt out of place. Everyone talked about their lovers, while he had nobody to talk about.
.
.
.
"Suga." Rae called.
"Oh, yes Rae?" Suga asked as he put away his lunch tray.
"I'm in need of a bit of help right now, would you mind?" She asked.
"Not at all. What did you need help with?"
"See, there was an urgent situation involving some of my high schoolers looting, and I won't be here until the afternoon. Would you mind taking over for me?"
"Of course not. I'll take over for you" Suga nodded.
"Thank you, Suga. I'll see you later."
"See you, Rae."
.
.
.
Suga sighed as he checked Rae's schedule. After lunch, she teaches year 11. He got up, and walked to the high school building, then peaked through the window on the classroom door. The class was already seated, and there was (a/an) (short/tall/average height) man in front of the class, teaching (a subject you want). Suga knocked on the door.

"Come in," said the man.
Suga opened the door, and walked in.
"Oh, you must be Sugawara, Rae's assistant, correct?" The man asked.
"Yep, that's me." Suga replied.
"I'm (Y/n) (L/n), I'm helping you teach this class, per the dean's request." (Y/n) smiled.
"Oh, thank you."
"It's no big deal."
So, (Y/n) continued to teach the class about (subject), and Suga observed him closely. (Y/n) had (h/l) (h/c) hair that was neatly combed, he had glamouring (e/c) eyes that hid themselves behind his glasses that fog up every so often. His skin was fair, and he had a very small amount of freckles on his face. His tie was neatly tucked, and his white button up shirt was so clean, Suga thought it was new. Suga dreamily observed (Y/n) as he thought (subject) with a serious, but somewhat humorous matter. This went on until the end of the class.
"Alright class, do you have any questions?" (Y/n) asked.
One of the students raised her hand.
"Yes, Taylor?"
"Why is Mrs. Atkinson absent today?"
"She had to deal with some problems involving the upper sixth. She'll probably be back tomorrow. Are there any other questions?"
"No, sir."
"Alright. You're dismissed. Please go out to the halls quietly."
The class did what they were told, and soon enough, the room was just Suga and (Y/n).
"Rae has a free period right now. The class has no homework today." (Y/n) told Suga.
"O-oh, alright."
(Y/n) pulled a chair next to Suga, and sat down.
"So, I heard you're a senior in uni." (Y/n) commented.
"Um, yeah. What about you?" Suga asked.
"I graduated last year."
"That's cool. Do you teach here?" Suga asked.
"Nope. I actually work at the front office, but I'm also a substitute."
"Oh, that's interesting."
"I wouldn't say it is, but thank you."
Suga smiled. "You're really adorable."
(Y/n) blushed. "I am?"
"Yep! I mean, if I had to choose between you and the world, I'd choose you."
"Ah, you're making me flustered." (Y/n) laughed.
And that, kids, is how (Y/n) and Suga became friends.
.
.
.
The two were seen hanging out every minute of every day (unless they're doing work). They were best friends, but it was pretty obvious they saw each other as more. But neither one ever had the courage to confess to each other, so they just awkwardly keep their feelings for each other inside, which... everyone saw. They were so obvious, it was painful for everyone, even the students, to watch.

Then one day, a miracle happened. Well, not really, it was just that Suga finally decided he can't hold his feelings in anymore, so he was going to ask (Y/n) out.
"Hey (Y/n)."
"Oh, Suga, what's up?"
"Um... so, I was wondering if you wanna go out... like, um, you know, like..."
"Like?"
"Do you wanna go on a date..."
"Sure." (Y/n) chuckled, his face coated with a light blush. "Where to?"
"To this cafe downtown. It just opened recently."
"OK. What time?"
"4 pm."
"Alright. See you, then."
Suga sighed in relief. Looks like his crush accepted the date request. He was more casual than he thought, though.
.
.
.
So, the time of the date has come. It was 4 pm, it's not raining for once, and Suga was very excited. He sat at the cafe table as he scrolled through his phone waiting for (Y/n) to arrive.
"Suga."
Said man looked up. It was his date, (Y/n).
"Oh, (Y/n), hey."
The two stared at each other for a moment, until Suga asked,
"So, what drink do you want?"
"Um, I dunno. Just (any drink you want) is fine."
"OK, I'll go get our order."
"Wait, that just means you'll pay, then-"
Suga put his finger on (Y/n)'s lips.
"It's fine. You can pay next time."
(Y/n) blinked, "fine, but you better keep that promise."
.
.
.
(Y/n) and Suga had a good time walking around town at dusk, as they drank their drinks.
"The sunset is very beautiful, isn't it?" (Y/n) asked.
"Yeah, just like you."
"Haha, really now?"
"Yeah, really."
(Y/n) smiled. "I'm glad you asked me out. If I had to, I would've not had the courage to tell you it was a date."
"Really?"
"Yeah. I'm just scared cuz where I'm from, it's not so supportive."
"Oh."
Suga hugged (Y/n). "Well, no matter what you do, I'll support you."
"Thanks." (Y/n) thanked him as he hugged Suga back.
.
.
.
Koushi graduated from university 7 years ago. He's now living in the UK, but today is a special day. Today, he's in Japan to meet with his old friends from Karasuno. What's so special, though? He brought his fiance, (Y/n), with him. This would be the first time that Koushi's high school friends have met (Y/n) in real life.
"Koushi, come on. What's taking you so long to wear a jacket?" (Y/n) asked.
"Sorry! I need to make sure I look great."
"You already look good, now let's go."
Suga laughed as he ran to catch up with (Y/n) who was a few meters ahead of him.
.
.
.
Arriving at the small town restaurant, Suga saw Asahi, Noya and Daichi chatting, and ran up to the three.
"Hey! Asahi, Noya, Daichi, what's up?!" Sugawara exclaimed.
"Suga! Nice to see you again!" Daichi greeted him.
"Hey, Suga-san, how are ya?" Noya asked.
"I've been fine. What about you?" Suga asked.
"We've been fine," Asahi replied.
"And you, Daichi?" Suga asked.
"Everything is normal."
"Great. Is Kiyoko coming as well?" Suga asked.
"We're here!" An all too familiar voice exclaimed.
"Ryuu!" Noya exclaimed.
"Yuu!"
Kiyoko smiled. "Hello everyone. How are you all?"
"We're all doing quite well." Daichi replied.
"That's great."
Soon enough, Hinata, Kageyama, Tsukishima, Yachi, Yamaguchi, Narita, Ennoshita, and Kinoshita arrived as well. Everyone was having a reunion, catching up, and chatting about. Soon, (Y/n) joined them at the dining table, as he had some business to do earlier.
"Say, Suga-san, who is that?" Kageyama asked.
"Huh? You mean me?" (Y/n) asked.
"Yeah, you." Tsukishima said to him.
"Wait, is that (Y/n)?" Daichi asked.
"Yeah." (Y/n) replied.
"Huh? Who?" Hinata asked.
"I guess I've never told you, this is (Y/n), my fiance." Suga said as he patted (Y/n)'s shoulder.
"Kou, you're getting pizza powder on my new shirt."
"Haha, sorry."
"Wait, Suga-san is getting married?!" Yachi exclaimed.
"Yeah. Has he not told you guys?" Noya asked.
"No, he didn't," Yamaguchi replied.
"Haha, sorry about that."
"It'll be fine if you invite us to your wedding." Kinoshita teased.
"Yeah, you're all invited." Suga smiled.
"Congrats, Suga-san, and (Y/n)-san!" Hinata cheered.
