《Haikyuu!! x Male reader one-shots》-Kunimi Akira-
Advertisement
Kunimi looked at Karasuno VBC's invited player. There was the blond middle blocker, Tsukishima Kei. Tsukishima was awkwardly, and confusedly looking down at a ginger figure, Hinata Shoyo, while (L/n) (Y/n), Tsukishima's best friend, and Shiratorizawa's first year setter, who stood next to him, just looked away awkwardly as he crossed his arms disapprovingly.
.
.
.
The first day of the Shiratorizawa training camp was almost over. They were just missing one activity...
"OK, we're doing 2v2's. The pairs are..." (Y/n) listened in for his name to be called out. "(L/n), and Kunimi. You'll be playing against Tsukishima, and Koganegawa first."
He smirked. Kunimi, a family he just happened to know a little bit too well. A boy with black hair looked over at (Y/n).
Kunimi Akira, the youngest Kunimi, opposite hitter, and unenergetic most of the time.
(Y/n) was the youngest of the (L/n)'s, he plays volleyball, he has pretty similar attitudes as Akira and they both have sisters. They're pretty similar, but they never talked, they were never friends, they were far from being friends, which just made it more bizarre how similar they are.
"(L/n)." Kunimi said as he walked up to (Y/n).
"Kunimi." (Y/n) said as he looked down at Akira. He was taller than Akira, at 193 cm, giving them around a 10 centimeter height difference.
"Let's go. We don't wanna waste time."
.
.
.
(Y/n), and Akira made an amazing duo. Akira tends to not get the ball anyway, while (Y/n) was naturally fast, has some amount of energy to walk around the court and had great aim, making it as simple as peeling a banana for (Y/n) to correctly set to Akira. He was almost as good as Miya Atsumu, and Kageyama Tobio. They both had the game sense they needed, and even without communication, they knew exactly what they had to do. It felt psychic, and it probably was, since they only had to look at each other for a split second, and they knew what the other wanted. And on a somewhat unrelated note, they were both very beautiful. The whole training camp had played against the incredible duo, and all they could see were angels coming to bless them, except Tsukishima because he likes Yams already. It was a blessing, and everyone, this time including Tsukishima, hoped they'd share a dorm with either one of them.
"Alright, time to go eat dinner, everyone!" The coach who was incharge of this camp yelled. "After dinner, we'll give you your assigned dorms."
The students responded in their own ways, whether it was nodding, chatting amongst themselves, or yellings of celebration that they could finally eat dinner. (Y/n), and Akira were the only ones who didn't say anything, and just went straight (or shall we say ✨homosexually✨) to the cafeteria. (Y/n) was leading the way for Akira to the cafeteria while the two had a small convo.
"What's for dinner tonight?" Akira asked. (Y/n) shrugged.
"Udon or pasta." (Y/n) answered.
"Hm, OK. Do they have, like, desert or candies here?"
"Oh, they serve some shaved ice." (Y/n) told Akira.
"Cool."
The conversation awkwardly died down, so they just sat down at a table in the cafeteria, next to each other. The two, despite sitting next to each other, didn't say anything at all. Akira was too shy to talk to (Y/n). He feared he'd make a fool of himself if he even dared to say more than ten words to this absolute stud of a human blessing. The previous conversation between them already took enough courage to even start. Meanwhile, (Y/n) was silently observing the quiet male. He had taken an interest in him, and knew Akira ever since he was born. Not because they were childhood friends, no, no, he was far from being his childhood friend, for a matter of fact, he didn't even know Akira personally. This just so happened to be one of the rare little interactions between the two. They once shared a dorm in a camp that both families made their two children attend, but that was it. It was all just luck, and there was no way they'd get partnered up again, right?
"Kunimi, (L/n), you'll be sharing dorm 258," the coach, Saito, said. (Y/n), and Kunimi looked up, only to nod, and silently eat again. Looks like the prediction was wrong, they did get partnered up again, this time at Shiratorizawa's volleyball training camp. If Akira's parents were to hear about this, he'd immediately be forced to exit this training camp. Akira gulped, nervous that his parents would know about this, but again, how would they know if he doesn't tell them? All he needed to do was keep quiet, and shut up about it, despite wanting to scream in joy that he got paired up with his precious crush.
.
.
.
(Y/n) had guided Akira to their dorm room. The room only had bunk beds, it was small, and the kitchen, and bathroom were even smaller. They would have to crowd with each other, and most likely would have to take turns to walk in the dorms.
"I'm taking a bath. Just... do whatever." (Y/n) said as he walked to the bathroom.
(Y/n) sat in the water-filled tub he actually couldn't fit his legs in without folding them. He was lovesick, very extremely lovesick. It has always been this way, since he knew Akira. He was always in love with the boy outside the bathroom, despite knowing their Montague-Capulet family dynamic. He hated it, he hated it so much. And frankly, so did Akira. He hated that he was in love with (Y/n) with no confirmation that (Y/n) loved him back, but he already planned it out. He'd take the risk of confessing to or at least befriending (Y/n) by the end of this training camp. Why? He doesn't know either, Akira doesn't know why he wanted to confess. Maybe it was to get his feelings off his chest, maybe he wanted to be honest with (Y/n), maybe he just wanted to try out his luck with love. It could be any of the reasons, and Akira doesn't even know. He always thought of himself to be a burden to the setter, seeing as how awkward their conversations are sometimes, but rest assured, he will confess.
.
.
.
(Y/n) walked out of the bathroom. Akira looked up, and blushed bright red.
"Huh, Kunimi are you OK..." (Y/n) trailed off as he looked down. "Oh." He started to laugh a little at Kunimi's flustered state. "There's more attractive guys than me out there, you know. You can oogle over their chest."
Akira snapped out of his trance, and blushed even redder when he finally processed what was said to him.
"Shut up!" Akira yelled at the tease. "I'm not flustered." He mumbled.
"If you say so." (Y/n) shrugged. He grabbed his clothes. "By the way, you should go bathe now while the water is still warm."
.
.
.
Akira walked out of the bathroom to see (Y/n) reading a book while eating salted caramel candies. He wanted some, but he didn't want to seem like a bother.
"Uh..." he mumbled.
"Did you say something?" (Y/n) asked as he looked up.
"Uhm, can I have some?" Akira asked.
"These candies? Sure just take them." (Y/n) smiled.
"Thanks..." Akira mumbled. He grabbed a candy, and sat next to the reading male. "What's that?"
"Oh, it's a novel called Library of Souls by Ransom Riggs." (Y/n) replied.
"Hm, cool." Akira said as he looked over (Y/n)'s shoulder. At one point, he must've gotten tired or bored, since he fell asleep on (Y/n)'s shoulder. (Y/n) smiled, and set him on the bed.
.
.
.
Surprisingly that was the start of communication, and friendship between Akira, and (Y/n). At this particular moment, (Y/n), and Akira were hanging out at an empty cafe at 4 am, two days before the training camp ended. It was empty other than the two boys, the one cashier who fell asleep, and the barista who was wearing giant headphones. They, unlike Hinata who broke into the training camp, broke out of the training camp to have some coffee. Akira, despite being a first year of highschool, has a crippling caffeine addiction that his family is trying to help stop.
"And they always failed to limit my consumption of caffeine." Akira told (Y/n).
"Do tell. I mean, you drank 5 whole cups of coffee already." (Y/n) commented. "That definitely can't be good for your health."
"Yeah, I know that." Akira said as he took another sip of coffee. "Anyway, uh, we should go back to the dorms by 6 am."
"Yeah." (Y/n) said as he drank his (drink). "But it's like 4 right now."
"I know, I'm just saying." Akira replied. He put his head on his palm. This was the perfect moment to confess to (Y/n). He sighed, and mentally prepared for the worst before blurting out, "(Y/n), I'm in love with you."
(Y/n), astounded, spat out his drink onto the floor, and looked at a now scared Kunimi Akira.
"What?" he asked, questioning if he heard that right. "You... are in love with me?"
"Yeah..."
"Oh shit, and I thought it was unrequited. I love you too." (Y/n) exclaimed. He put both his hands on the table, and stood up from his wooden chair.
"That's great! Please go out with me." Akira exclaimed as he stood up as well, and placed his hands above (Y/n)'s.
"Yes, of course." (Y/n) laughed.
.
.
.
"Welcome home, young master Akira." the maid, Julie, greeted him as he entered the home from the week long training camp.
"Hello, Julie." Akira said as he put his bag away. "Could you find me some pajamas?" He asked as he put his bag into another maid, Alana's arms.
"Of course, young master. Would you like me to inform your parents, and sister of your arrival?" Julie asked.
"If you want to, I guess. Speaking of which, where are they?" Akira asked.
"In the movie lounge, sir. They are watching Jumanji: The Next Level." Julie answered as she gestured to the movie lounge or one of the many living rooms in the Kunimi household.
"I see." Kunimi answered as he walked into the bathroom.
.
.
.
(Y/n) sighed. He, and his sister, Sayuri, were playing Animal Crossing. (Y/n) was planning how exactly to tell Sayuri he had a date with Akira the next day.
"Whatever..." he mumbled underneath his breath. "You know Kunimi Akira, right?"
Sayuri looked up from her switch. "The youngest Kunimi? Yeah, of course I do."
"Well, uh, I have a date with him tomorrow." (Y/n) told his sister.
"Oh... are you here to ask for fashion advice, because if so, you should just ask Aiko-san. He does design clothes after all," Sayuri said, looking back at her switch.
"You're not mad that I'm dating the enemy?" (Y/n) asked.
"No, of course not. It's your love life, I can't meddle in it," she told (Y/n).
"Oh, thank you. You're an OK sister."
"I'm the best sister you can ever ask for, you ungrateful brat!"
.
.
.
He knew. Akira knew they wouldn't support his now friendship, and possibly relationship with (Y/n), and yet he told his parents about it anyway.
"Wait, you made a new friend?! That's so rare of you!" Mai, Akira's sister, flabbergasted.
"Yeah..." Akira replied, annoyed.
"What's their name?" the two siblings' mother asked.
"Uhm, his name is (L/n) (Y/n)..." Akira mumbled, but it was enough for his parents, and sister to hear him, and get upset over it.
"(L/N) (Y/N)?! As in our rivals' son, (Y/n)?!" Akira's father shouted.
"Yeah..." he answered.
"How dare you befriend such an uncultured family such as the (L/n)'s." His mother scolded.
"I really enjoy his company, though..." Akira said as he looked down, hugging his knees.
"Do you know what this wretched family did to us?! They stole our number 1 spot as the best modelling family!" his mother yelled, impatient.
Akira sighed. This is gonna be a long night.
.
.
.
Later, the next day, (Y/n), and Akira had both gone to the date they planned for a few days.
"Akira!" (Y/n) exclaimed. He hugged said male, and he hugged (Y/n) back.
"Hey, (Y/n)... nice to see you..." (Y/n)'s smile dropped. Akira seemed gloomier than usual, which caught him off guard.
"Are you OK?" he asked. Akira shook his head.
"No, I got reprimanded by my parents for so long for befriending you... since, y'know, the modelling thing. It's like I'm a Montague, and you're a Capulet," Akira sighed.
"I see." (Y/n) nodded at the Romeo and Juliet reference. "Well, unlike Juliet's parents, I'm sure my parents will welcome you with open arms, but only my sister is here today. Anyways, come in!" (Y/n) smiled as he led Akira in his home.
"Oi, you moron, where's my onigiri?!" Sayuri yelled from behind a counter.
"I don't know, I didn't eat it. Actually, wasn't it expired?" (Y/n) asked, pure disgust in his voice as he said the last sentence.
"Oh." Sayuri said. "Whoops. Anyways, uh, what's Kunimi doing here?"
(Y/n) looked at his date. "We have a date? I thought I told you."
"Oh yeah, you did. Well, just do whatever, I'm going to Suzuki-chan's house." Sayuri said as she grabbed her bag to go to her best friend, Suzuki's house.
"OK." (Y/n) said as his sister left. "Sorry 'bout that. Anyways, do you have anything in mind to watch?" (Y/n) asked Akira. They're having a movie date, and were very happy to binge watch whatever movies (Y/n) had downloaded. Akira looked at (Y/n)'s list of movies, and pointed to something.
"You wanna watch the GIVEN movie?" (Y/n) asked.
"Yeah. I sort of kinnie Mafuyu, but that's not the point. Is there anything else you wanna watch?" Akira asked.
"Yeah, I wanna watch Bungou Stray Dogs. Then maybe we can watch the Haikyuu movies." (Y/n) said as he connected his laptop to the TV.
.
.
.
"He is... so desperate to die." Akira commented in the middle of the Bungou Stray Dogs episode. "It's sort of scary."
"Yeah, I guess." (Y/n) replied. "Anyway, I'm kinda tired. We've been watching these for how long now?"
"I don't know, maybe a good 11 hours." Akira said as he looked at his watch. "It's like 1 am right now."
"Oh. Do you wanna go home?" (Y/n) asked tiredly.
"No, it's fine. I'd rather stay with you," Akira said as he put (Y/n)'s head on his shoulder. "Just sleep. I'll watch this for a bit more."
"If you say so." (Y/n) said as he drifted to sleep. Akira smiled at the sleeping boy as he grabbed a big blanket for the two of them, and continued to watch Bungou Stray Dogs until they fell asleep.
.
.
.
The two males continued to hangout at any given chance, whether it was at games, when they met at the bus station, or when they happened to be at the same building for a photoshoot. They never missed a chance to hangout with each other. They'd also sneak into each others' houses once in a while, but that night they were at Akira's house. The two were planning a late night date for the next day. They were going to a karaoke, just for fun.
"Hey, Akira, is someone with you in there?" Kunimi Mai's voice echoed through the door. Akira, and (Y/n) knew at that exact moment; they're dead. They just looked at each other in panic, not knowing what to do. "Akira? I'm going in."
Akira, and (Y/n) heard keys jiggle in the doorknob.
"I-" Akira tried to explain himself when there was literally a boy in his room, and that boy just had to be their rival family's son.
"Why the hell is (L/n) in here?!" Mai screamed as she saw the (brunet, blond, etc) in her brother's room.
"I can expl-"
"No, I don't need it! Have fun telling dad, and mom why this boy is in your room!" Mai yelled as she grabbed (Y/n)'s arm, and dragged him to Mr, and Mrs. Kunimi's room.
"Mom, dad, Akira snuck (L/n)'s son into our house!" Mai yelled as she basically tossed (Y/n) to the floor.
"Mom, dad, I can explain!" Akira yelled as he ran into the room.
"Then explain!" Mr. Kunimi yelled.
Akira tried to explain to his parents as calmly as possible, but every few sentences he would get interrupted by his family members, which will lead him to get more agitated, and impatient. Meanwhile, (Y/n) was getting nervous, and felt out of place. Like he shouldn't be there, and was hearing something he shouldn't be hearing.
"... I apologize that I came in without your permission, I should just leave." (Y/n) said as he bowed down, and tried to leave. Akira grabbed his arm.
"(Y/n), it's OK, you can stay." Akira said as he pulled (Y/n) into a backwards hug while glaring at his now astounded parents, and sister. "I let him in, I gave him permission to enter our house. I hate to tell you like this, but I'm gay, and in love with (Y/n). And I could care less about your permission to be with him, because I love him, and nothing, including you, will ever be able to separate us." Akira told his family with a calm, but chilling voice.
"I... I love Akira a lot as well, and I agree with him. No matter what happens, we'll never be separated," (Y/n) said confidently, but with a hint of fear.
The Kunimi's were shocked to say the least, and had fallen silent. The silence lasted for a good few minutes. (Y/n), and Akira were starting to question if their statement had put the three in shock, or if they hit a nerve they shouldn't have.
"If... you really love each other, you have my blessing." Mrs. Kunimi finally broke the silence. (Y/n), and Akira were shocked by the mother's sudden statement, and it seemed like Mai, and Mr. Kunimi were as well.
"I suppose I can't do much about it. You two are almost adults now, you'll need to make decisions of your own." Mr. Kunimi sighed in defeat.
(Y/n) looked up at Akira with a hopeful smile. Akira also smiled happily.
"I don't have a say in this." Mai said. "Just... do whatever, but make sure your sister doesn't mind, (L/n)."
(Y/n) nodded. "Yes, of course. She knows."
"Good." Mai sighed. "I wish the best for both of you then. Good night, mother, father, Akira, and (L/n)." She said.
"Good night." The four called out.

Godfather Of Champions
This is a story about the pursuit of victory.— «I subscribe only to the theory of victory. I only pursue victory. As long as I am able to obtain victory, I don’t care if it’s total football or counterattack. What is the ultimate goal of professional soccer? In my opinion, it is victory, and the pinnacle of victory is to become the champions. I am a manager. If I don’t wish to lose my job or be forgotten by the people, there’s only one path for me to take, and that is to lead the team in obtaining victories, in obtaining championship titles!»The main character was not well-liked by people.— «⋯We conducted a survey which had been deemed by Manager Tony Twain as extremely meaningless. In a random street survey conducted, ninety-three percent of those surveyed chose the option ‘I hate Tony Twain’, while only seven percent chose the option ‘This person is rather decent, I like him’. It is worth noting that nobody chose the option ‘Who is Tony Twain? I don’t know him’. Mark, do you know why Manager Twain felt that our survey was very meaningless?» Parker, a reporter from laughed loudly and said when he was being interviewed by BBC.But there were also people who were madly in love with him.— When Tony Twain was forced to talk about the survey conducted by during an interview, his reply was : «I am happy, because Nottingham Forest’s fans make up seven percent of England’s population.»And he did not seem to care about how the others saw him.— «What are you all trying to make me say? Admit that I am not popular, and everywhere I go will be filled with jeers and middle fingers. You all think I will be afraid? Wrong! Because I am able to bring victory to my team and its supporters. I don’t care how many people hate me and can’t wait to kill me, and I also won’t change myself to accommodate the mood of these losers. You want to improve your mood? Very simple, come and defeat me.»His love story had garnered widespread attention.— «Our reporters took these pictures at Manager Tony Twain’s doorsteps. It clearly shows that Shania entered his house at 8.34pm and she did not leave the house throughout the night at all. But Manager Tony Twain firmly denies, and insists that that was merely the newest-model inflatable doll which he had ordered. He was the number one star of the team.— «⋯ Became the spokesperson of world-wide famous clothing brands, shot advertisements, frequented the fashion industry’s award ceremonies, endorsed electronic games, has a supermodel girlfriend. His earnings from advertisements exceed his club salary by seventeen times, owns a special column in various print medias, publishing his autobiography (in progress), and is even said that he is planning to shoot an inspirational film based off his own person experiences! Who can tell me which part of his life experiences is worthy of being called ‘inspirational’? Hold on⋯. Are you all thinking that I’m referring to David Beckham? You’re sorely mistaken! I’m talking about Manager Tony Twain⋯.»He was very knowledgeable about Chinese soccer.— «⋯ I’ve heard about it, that Bora gifted four books to his manager Mr. Zhu before your country’s national team’s warm up match. After which, the team lost 1:3 to a nameless American team from Major League Soccer. The new excuse that Mr. Zhu gave for losing the match, was that Bora gifted «books» (‘books’ and ‘lose’ are homophones in the Chinese language). Here, I recommend that you guys find out what that one specific book is. Which book? Of course the one that caused you all to score a goal. After that, tell me the title of the book. Before every match, I will gift ten copies of that same book to you. In that case, won’t you all be able to get a triumphant 10:0 win over your opponents every time?» An excerpt taken from Tony Twain’s special column in a certain famous Chinese sports newspaper. He was loved and hated by the press.— «He has a special column in at least four renowned print media, and he is able to get a considerable amount of remuneration just by scolding people or writing a few hundred words of nonsense weekly. While we have to contemplate hard about our drafts for three days before our boss is pleased with it. In an article inside his special column, he scolded and called all of the media ‘son of a bitch’, announcing that he hated the media the most. But every time he publishes an article, we flock towards him like flies which had spotted butter. Why? Because the readers like to read his news and see him scold people. I dare to bet with you, and Manager Tony Twain knows clearly in his heart as well, that even though he says that he hates us, he knows that the present him cannot do without us. Similarly, we also cannot do without him. Is this ultimately considered a good or a bad thing?» Bruce Pearce, a reporter from said with a face of helplessness when talking about Tony Twain. But no matter the case, his players were his most loyal believers.— Gareth Bale, «No no, we never had any pressure when playing on our home grounds. Because the pressure is all on the manager. As long as we see him standing by the side of the field, all of us will feel that we will be able to win that match. Even the football hooligans are like meek lambs in front of him!» (After saying this, he began to laugh out loudly)The reply from George Wood, the team captain of Nottingham Forest, was the most straightforward. «We follow him because he can bring us victory.»The legendary experience of Tony Twain, the richest, most successful, most controversial manager with the most unique personality!Debuting this summer.Thank you for reading.
