《Haikyuu!! x Male reader one-shots》-Iwaizumi Hajime-
Advertisement
Iwaizumi, and Oikawa strolled down the street. Oikawa's favorite band, the Rainbow Tears, are performing in Miyagi, and Oikawa immediately begged Iwaizumi on his knees for them to go together. Iwaizumi agreed since he didn't have anything else to do on a boring Saturday night, so there they were, strolling down the street at night to go to the concert that Oikawa bought tickets for. Once they walked into the stadium that the concert was supposed to be held in, Iwaizumi noticed the influx of people across the whole stadium.
"Iwa-chan, let's go!" Oikawa yelled as he dragged Iwaizumi to row C, the third row to the stage. They sat down at seats F and G, the seats in the center of row C, which means that when the band plays, they'll be able to see Oikawa and Iwaizumi pretty clearly.
.
.
.
"HELLO EVERYONE!" The band leader, and pianist/bassist Arielle Avery yelled into the mic.
An influx of cheers mixed on top of each other, but Oikawa's was definitely the loudest, which drew the band's attention towards him, and Iwaizumi. The drummer, (Y/n) (L/n), saw the boy with spiky hair next to Oikawa. He blushed a bit, and smiled.
"You remind me so much of Kei, man."
The lights went out, and there were spot lights that shined on the band members. The guitarist started breathing into the mic. (Y/n) started to play a beat, and Arielle started singing with a pretty high voice. Iwaizumi was confused as to how the singer could sing such a high pitch, since when she shouted the greeting, her voice sounded pretty low for a female.
"I'll be god, I'll be god, I'll be god, I'll be god today. Hold my head under that bath, and breathe away. Slit my wrists and watch that blood evaporate."
Iwaizumi had an extremely confused look on his face as he looked over at Oikawa who had sparkles in his eyes. Did Oikawa always like this kind of music? He shrugged as he looked back at the band.
.
.
.
Oikawa cried as he trailed behind Iwaizumi who had a few tears in his eyes. The drummer (Y/n) never actually sings much in the songs that the band produces, but he did. He sang for this concert, and the song he happened to sing was Fuyu No Hanashi, but he translated it into English. His voice actually sounded like he was heart broken, but that's just how good he is at singing. The band has tried to convince (Y/n) to try to sing more, but he always refused for some reason.
.
.
.
June 27, (random year). He looked at the time, 5.30 pm. (Y/n) hasn't gotten out of his room yet. They're having a concert again in the same stadium as the one yesterday a few weeks after they go to Korea. He decided that he'd go buy some food. He's always hated June 27, it's the day Tsukishima Kei, his boyfriend died. He remembered him as clear as day, his short messy blonde hair, his brown eyes, his incredibly soft spoken voice when they're alone, when he would have to push Kei's glasses up when they fell... Kei reminded him the boy with spiky hair that (Y/n) saw at the concert. (Y/n) sighed, and got up to the local grocery store. He decided that he was going to make some agedashi tofu. He looked at the recipe. The first ingredient was momen tofu. He walked into the tofu aisle , and grabbed a momen tofu, but a hand was placed above his. (Y/n) looked at the side, and a male with spiky hair, and tan skin who was around his height was looking back... it was the guy he saw at the concert.

"It's you! You're the guy with spiky hair who was next to the guy who cheered super loudly." (Y/n) said.
"Wait, you're the drummer from Rainbow Tears." He replied.
(Y/n) chuckled. "(Y/n) (L/n)."
"Iwaizumi Hajime."
The two looked at their hands which were still at the same spot. Iwaizumi, and (Y/n) blushed madly, and pulled their hands away awkwardly.
"Sorry," Iwaizumi apologized.
"No worries. Anyway, I gotta go now. Nice talking to you, Iwaizumi." (Y/n) smiled at Iwaizumi. He blushed at (Y/n)'s warm smile, and nodded.
"Nice talking to you as well, (L/n)." Iwaizumi told (Y/n).
(Y/n) nodded, and walked out of the grocery store.
"... hold on, I forgot to buy my food!"
.
.
.
(Y/n) ended up at a Japanese restaurant to eat his dinner. It reminded him so much of Kei. It's been so long since he's eaten Japanese food, since it hurt him like a knife to the heart.
"Sir, we ran out of tables, would you mind sitting with another person?" The waitress asked.
"No, I don't mind." (Y/n) answered.
The waitress nodded, and led (Y/n) to a table with... Iwaizumi Hajime.
"Sir, would you mind letting Mr. (L/n) sit with you?" She asked.
Iwaizumi looked up, and shook his head. "Not at all."
.
.
.
Iwaizumi sat across from (Y/n), silently eating his dinner. (Y/n) was listening to some music, and typing something into his phone. Iwaizumi looked at (Y/n), curious as to what he was doing.
"Uh, hey," he greeted awkwardly, trying to cancel out the awkward tension between them. (Y/n) looked up, and sighed.
"Hey, Iwaizumi," (Y/n) greeted back.
"So, what's up?" He asked.
"Nothing much. I just... hah, I don't know," (Y/n) laughed. "Today is just not the best day."
Iwaizumi frowned. "Are you OK?"
"Yeah, I guess. It's just... agh, it's been so long since I've talked about this, I'm sorry." (Y/n) apologized as he felt some tears roll down his cheek.
"Whoa, hey, hey, it's OK, take your time." Iwaizumi comforted (Y/n), using the softest voice he could.
"Hah, it's fine. I'm sorry."
The food arrived to (Y/n), and the two ate.
"Well, I hope you're OK." Iwaizumi told (Y/n).
"Thank you. Anyway, are you OK?" (Y/n) asked Iwaizumi.
"Yeah, I'm fine, thanks."
.
.
.
(Y/n), and Iwaizumi hit it off with that dinner at the Japanese restaurant. The two were madly in love, and everyone, and I mean e v e r y o n e can see it, except Iwaizumi. He is the densest person in this whole situation, even if this situation revolves around (Y/n), and him. The Aoba Johsai volleyball club has noticed that Iwaizumi has been more spaced out since the weekend that he, and Oikawa went to the concert. Meanwhile, Fabian, and Arielle have noticed (Y/n)'s mood has lifted. Ever since the first time the two met (Y/n), he hasn't been able to get over Kei, but they figured that he was in love with another person. As of now, (Y/n) was writing a song in the band's studio in LA.
"Hey, (Y/n), what're you writing?" Fabian asked. (Y/n) looked up from his book of lyrics.
"Uh, a song." (Y/n) told Fabian.
Arielle's eyes lit up when she heard that (Y/n) is writing a song. The whole studio always knew (Y/n) wrote pretty good songs, but he rarely writes songs anymore.
"A song? Tell us more." She said as she looked over (Y/n)'s chair, her long brown hair touching (Y/n)'s neck.
"I'm writing a song for a guy I've been talking to since the Japan trip." (Y/n) told Arielle as he finished off the song.

"Can I see?"
"Sure."
(Y/n) handed the book to Fabian, who flipped through the song. "Hm, looks pretty good. You wanna show this to the producers?"
"Uh, I actually wanted to confess to him using this song, so, yeah... like when we go back to Japan can I sing this?" he asked.
"Sure thing! Do you want our help with this?" Arielle asked.
"I mean, sure. Here's the plan I have in mind..."
.
.
.
Iwaizumi was on call with (Y/n) the night a few days before (Y/n) came back to the concert in Japan. He didn't know how he felt around the drummer, why his heart was beating so fast, why he felt so flushed, and why he felt so happy around (Y/n). Maybe he'll ask the other third years about these feelings.
"Hajime, are you listening?" (Y/n) asked through the video call.
Iwaizumi snapped out of his trance, and smiled a bit.
"Ah, sorry, I was thinking. Could you repeat that?" Iwaizumi apologized.
"Arielle, Fabian, and I are going to Japan to do a concert in a few days. Do you want me to mail you the tickets?" (Y/n) asked. Iwaizumi paused, and smiled.
"I don't mind buying them, but if you insist. Can I bring my friend, Oikawa as well, though?" He asked.
"Sure!" (Y/n) replied.
.
.
.
"Oi, Mattsun!" Iwaizumi yelled.
"Hm, yeah, Iwaizumi?" He asked.
"So, there's this guy who I've been hanging out with lately, and my heart beats really fast, and I'm really flushed around him." Iwaizumi told Mattsun. "Uh, do you know why that happens?"
Mattsun smirked. "Mate, you're in love with said person. Now who is he?"
Iwaizumi froze in place, an imaginary truck hitting him. "I-I'm in love with (Y/n)?!"
"... what?"
.
.
.
Oikawa's eyes sparkled as he looked at the two first row tickets to Rainbow Tears' Miyagi show.
"Iwa-chan, how did you get this?!" Oikawa asked.
"Hm, you'll see." He answered as he smiled to himself at the tickets.
.
.
.
"Alright, everyone! Now, we're giving the stage to our drummer, please welcome, (Y/n) (L/n)!" Arielle yelled. The crowd cheered, and this time, contrary to the first concert that was mentioned in this one-shot, Hajime cheered the loudest in the crowd, which shocked Oikawa.
"Ah, haha, hi, everyone. Uh, so," (Y/n) nervously laughed. "This song is called Sweater Weather. I wrote this for someone special..." (Y/n) chuckled. Iwaizumi felt a pang in his heart. What if (Y/n) already has a lover, and he's just been in love with him. He doesn't wanna be a homewrecker, so maybe he should just let (Y/n) go. "He's in the front row actually, so this one's for you, Hajime!"
Oikawa looked at Iwaizumi, and smirked. "Oh, so is that how you got the ticket? Through (Y/n)?"
"Yeah," Iwaizumi answered, eyes clouded with dreams.
The guitar started playing, the crowd cheered, and (Y/n)'s angelic voice echoed throughout the stadium.
"And all I am is a man
I want the world in my hands
I hate the beach
But I stand in California with my toes in the sand
Use the sleeves on my sweater
Lets have an adventure
Head in the clouds but my gravity centered
Touch my neck and I'll touch yours
You in those little high waisted shorts"
Iwaizumi blushed. He remembered the time he hung out with (Y/n) next to the lake near Aoba Johsai. He was wearing high waisted shorts, and (Y/n) was wearing ripped jeans. His hair blew in the wind, as the sunset gave a beautiful effect on (Y/n)'s already charming figure.
"Oh, he knows what I think about
And what I think about
One love, two mouths
One love, one house
No shirts, no blouse
Just us, you find out
Nothing I really wanna tell you about no
'Cause it's too cold, whoa
For you here
And now, so let me hold, whoa
Both your hands in the holes of my sweater"
Iwaizumi smiled at the song, the crowd cheered at the part where he sang "One love, two mouths, one love, one house."
"And if I may just take your breath away
I don't mind if there's not much to say
Sometimes the silence guides your mind
So move to a place so far away
The goosebumps start to race
The minute that my left hand meets your waist
And then I watch your face
Put my finger on your tongue 'cause you love to taste yeah
These hearts adore, everyone the other beat heart is for
Inside this place is warm
Outside it starts to pour"
Iwaizumi blushed so madly at the lyrics that were semi sexual. Arielle did a small rock beat on the guitar, while Fabian scolded her with his eyes, telling her to stick with the plan.
"Coming down
One love, two mouths
One love, one house
No shirts, no blouse
Just us, you find out
Nothing I really wanna tell you about, no no no
'Cause it's too cold, whoa
For you here
And now, so let me hold, whoa
Both your hands in the holes of my sweater"
Iwaizumi blushed at the lyrics once again, as he imagined him, and (Y/n) getting married.
"'Cause it's too cold, whoa
For you here
And now, so let me hold, whoa
Both your hands in the holes of my sweater"
Oikawa looked at Iwaizumi, wiggling his eyebrows.
"'Cause it's too cold, whoa
For you here
And now, so let me hold, whoa
Both your hands in the holes of my sweater"
Iwaizumi looked at Oikawa, and scowled. "Oh, shut up, Shittykawa."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa
Whoa, whoa whoa
Whoa, whoa whoa
Whoa, whoa
Whoa, whoa whoa
Whoa, whoa
'Cause it's too cold, whoa
For you here
And now, so let me hold, whoa
Both your hands in the holes of my sweater
It's too cold, whoa
For you here
And now, so let me hold, whoa
Both your hands in the holes of my sweater
It's too cold, it's too cold
The hands of my sweater"
(Y/n) waited for the crowd to stop cheering. Once they stopped, (Y/n) breathed into the mic.
"Uh, so, with that song, I just have one thing to say. Iwaizumi Hajime, I love you, please be my boyfriend." (Y/n) smiled warmly.
"Of course I will!" Iwaizumi yelled.
(Y/n) smiled. "Alright, it's a date!"
.
.
.
Hajime stared down at the diamond wedding ring on his finger, reminded of his husband one night. It's been 60 years since the two had gotten married, and he couldn't ask for a more dedicated, and loving husband. He is currently in the hospital, ready to join Iwaizumi (Y/n), his husband, in the after life. His daughter, Iwaizumi Mayu and son, Iwaizumi Akito, were crying as their father was going to pass on with their other father.
"D-dad, please, fight a little longer." Mayu sobbed as she held Hajime's hand.
"I'm sorry, Mayu... Akito I'm so tired... and I miss your dad..." Hajime rejected his daughter's request.
"Dad..."
"Ah, I'll miss you both... Mayu, Akito... I'm going to see (Y/n) now... if I'm lucky, I'll see you again in my next life..." Hajime said as he caressed his ring one last time, and smiled. He rested his hand down, and closed his eyes.
Beep
Beep
Beep
Beep
Beep
"Dad. Dad, dad!" Akito yelled at Hajime's now lifeless body. Mayu looked down at her dad's dead body, and cried into her wife, Jaiden's shoulder.
.
.
.
Hajime woke up in a bright-ish room in a white shirt, and white pants (imagine TPN male characters' clothes). He looked up and there was a male playing the mandolin.
"(Y/n)?" Hajime called out. Said male turned around, and smiled.
"Hajime! How nice of you to join me."

Between the trio's optimistic yet naive ideals, and the SPS's tried-and-true surgical methods, determining the answer which methods can better humanity is a struggle that both parties must resolve in their own ways... Welcome to the 7th revision of my 10+ years ongoing novel trilogy. This revision took out some flawed plot concepts to re-introduce a more down-to-earth, film noir-like ambience, where a battle of wits is what will determine the outcome. It also added instead more in-depth expansion into the lives and mindsets of the characters, especially the heroes (a missing factor in older versions). Third-view limited storytelling was also introduced more prominently over my favoured third-view omnipotent, with each chapters concentrating as much as possible on a single character's point of view instead of head-hopping. So I shall begin uploading the chapters as I finish them; they're edited as much as I can, but there'll most likely be some typos and mistakes. As always, I welcome your comments and critiques, and I hope you enjoy reading that story as much as I did creating it! A parting poem to introduce the story (translated from its original French version): Credit: Les Mots, Mylene Farmer & Seal Firmly, the sky writhes When a mouth begets a death There, I will give my life to hear you To tell you the most tender words When all becomes all alone I'll break my life for a song And to lives that stoop to notice mine I know I will say goodbye But a fraction of this life I would give anything, anytime The universe has its mysteries Words are our lives You could kill a life with words Soul, how would it feel? If our lives are so fragile Words are mysteries Words of feelings Words of love, a temple If one swept the world away One could touch the universe I will tell you how the sun rose high We could with a word become one And for all those words that hurts us There are those that touches us Which illuminates, touches the infinity Even if nothingness exists For a fraction on this life We will give anything, anytime The universe has its mysteries Words are our lives We could kill a life with words Soul, how would it feel? If our lives are so fragile Words are mysteries Words of feelings Words of love, a temple
