《Haikyuu!! x Male reader one-shots》-Tendou Satori-

(Y/n), the boy with a smile so bright, and so "genuine," it blinded Tendou while a Cupid's arrow shot through his heart. He was in love with (Y/n), a popular singer who happened to be his friend in Shiratorizawa. Right now, (Y/n) is writing a song while Tendou was at volleyball practice. It wasn't necessarily a song about the red haired boy, but a song for his comfort.

"(Y/n)-kun, you look so happy, I wanna be like you someday!"

(Y/n) laughed at the thought. As if anyone would want to be like him, it was complete bullshit. Truth is, even if he appeared to be happy, he would probably never be truly happy with the life he has as of now. It sucks, I know, but that's just the reality of it, and who am I to go change it?

.

.

.

Tendou walked into (Y/n)'s dorm room. There was a tune playing out of the door a little. It was a peaceful tune. Tendou reckoned it was one of (Y/n)'s new song's melodies, as most of his music was the peaceful style or it was indie-alt style. He opened the door with his spear key, and realized that the tune speeded up.

"(Y/n)-kun?" Tendou asked with a grin. "Is this your new song?"

(Y/n) looked back at Tendou, smiling. "Yep. I'm trying a new style."

Tendou's grin widened with the new found information. "Oh really? Well, I can't say I'm surprised, (Y/n)-kun."

(Y/n) laughed, for once genuinely. He hasn't felt that laugh in a while. "Of course, you would say that, Satori."

Tendou sat down next to (Y/n), facing the computer. "Do you have lyrics for this song yet?" he asked.

"Yeah, I do. I don't think you can read my handwriting though." (Y/n) laughed. He looked once again at his messy handwriting with lyrics of pain, and suffering.

.

.

.

It was the day (Y/n) was going to release his song. It was going to be called Help! Oh Well... and he was going to release it in his album, Getting Personal, as its starter, and he was pretty excited. The lyrics of the song are actually based on real occurrences he had. He remembered them as clear as day.

.

.

.

Help! Oh, well

(Y/n) was walking around Shiratorizawa Academy on his first day. It was pretty nerve wracking as an introvert to have to move to a new school in the middle of a semester. He was lost, and when he tried to ask people around for help, they ignored him. "Oh well" was the only thing that was in his head as he tried to ask people around for help until Tendou decided to give him a tour around the academy, which was how they became friends.

Everybody going up, but I'm going to hell

He came out to his parents on his birthday. It was by far the worst birthday of his life. His mom silently disapproved of him being attracted to men while his father went on a rampage about how "All fags are going to hell while us normal people are going to heaven." That night he ran to Tendou's house, and his family allowed him to stay when the dormitories weren't open for them or when the school semester was over.

I don't even give a fuck what I'm doing, who cares?

He found some bad influences before he became a celebrity, which was when he first moved to Shiratorizawa (the time that his first song blew up). Back then he used to live in Hyogo, and attended Inarizaki high school. There were his friends, Suna Rintarou, and Miya Osamu who really didn't have the best choices in life. They smoked blunt, and offered some to (Y/n), who agreed. While they were smoking the blunt, (Y/n) admitted that he didn't even give a fuck about what he was doing, which Suna, and Samu agreed to. It was the reason they did drugs; they had nothing to do in life.

I be thinking that I'm nuts, but who isn't?

Sometimes (Y/n) thinks that he's crazy, but then he looks around at his friend group from both Inarizaki, and Shiratorizawa, he realizes that everybody is crazy.

I stare, I stare screaming

Sometimes (Y/n) feels like he's losing his mind. He would, on a regular basis, stare at the ceiling of the dormitory, and scream because of the thoughts in his head, or at himself for not being as good as he hoped to be.

Help! Oh, well?

(Y/n) really needed help, but he was too afraid to ask anymore, so just... oh well?

Everybody going up, but I'm going to hell

(Y/n) would regularly have nightmares about him dying then going to hell, all the while all his friends would go to heaven, and forget he ever existed, now that they're separated in heaven, and hell.

I don't even give a fuck what I'm doing, who cares?

Sometimes (Y/n) wondered if anyone even actually cared about his work. In reality, he only wrote his first song Monster (song is actually by doodie irl!) to impress Tendou, but it blew up over night, so now he's in the position he's in.

I be thinking that I'm nuts, but who isn't?

Everyone is crazy, but it just feels like you're insane, even if you have assurance that everyone is crazy as well. That was always how (Y/n) felt.

I stare, I stare screaming

As I said, (Y/n) would stare at the ceiling, and scream.

It started on a Sunday, and I was just doing nothing

But partying it up with some people I knew enough, um

It was a Sunday. (Y/n) wasn't doing much other than partying with some people he was associated with. This was in Hyogo, and he was smoking blunt with Suna, and Samu, a regular occurance.

I'm just looking at things

The sweaty bodies go on scheming

Around this point, he was looking around the party. People were drinking, smoking, literally making out on the floor, you name it.

They be praising me, I'm dreaming

'Cause I made it now, I'm something, at least

I think I am? That's what they say I am? Not playing, man

Now people at Shiratorizawa went from ignoring (Y/n), thinking he was just some newbie second year, to praising him for being a celebrity.

I'm just doing everything that I fucking can

(Y/n) was overwhelmingly addicted to blunt, so when he moved to Miyagi, he didn't know where to find drugs there, so he was trying his hardest to quit drugs, and that's where he found that writing music really helped him with the blunt addiction. He wasn't sure why or how, but if it helped, it helped, so he started writing music, which ended up becoming his whole career.

And I don't even know what's just going on but they thinking

Looking at me like I am money, shut up

And now they speaking

Fake, so I'll be

Drinking it up and then some

Hinting I'm done, they nincom-

Poops who keep talking, I'm hostage

The students of Shiratorizawa flood to (Y/n) at any opportunity possible. Whether it was when he was walking down the hallways, while he was eating lunch, when he did a once a month thing of going to practice with the Shiratorizawa volleyball club, once being a (position you want) for Inarizaki's team but quitting after because he moved to Miyagi, hell the male fans even went as far as to chase (Y/n) when he went to the bathroom. They all want to befriend him, but most of them are just there for a reputation, popularity, money, and, hell, he would even have people want to befriend him in hopes of him boning them/them getting to bone him. Sometimes he wished he could just tell them to shut up, but that would taint his reputation, and he was too polite in real life for that.

There was one point where people would get to have conversations with (Y/n), which was pretty rare, as (Y/n) was an introvert. The only people he talked to without being shy-ish were Satori, Satori's parents, Wakatoshi, Shirabu (they're roommates), Suna, and Osamu, but that isn't the point. There are instances that he would interact with people who only wanted him for money, reputation, and so on. They sounded so fake, it was the opposite to music to his ears. All he could think was they're all fools.

But sponsors paid my ransom

I'm just an artist astonished by all the offers that coming

But if I'm honest, now harder to start a fucking convo

If he knew that so much shit would happen just from writing a song to impress Satori, (Y/n) would've just tried to find drugs, but he was on this path now, and he made money, but was it worth it? (Y/n) questioned his decision all the time, but at the same time as it was horrible, it was the only way that he was able to make money. Plus, he has sponsors who give him extra money, and he never signed a contract with a recording company, since he didn't want to sign his life away, and he didn't want managers bugging him while he did school work, so he just became his own manager with Tendou's help. His life was OK, average, normal, other than the fans, but if he's being honest, lately, it's been harder to start a normal conversation.

Am I having fun? Yes, but, damn, I'm also not

He was still in contact with Suna, and Osamu. They talk every other night when Shirabu would stay over at Semi's dorm. The two would ask how (Y/n) is handling the celebrity life. He admits that it's fun, but it's also not at the same time, and somehow, even if the way (Y/n) tries to explain it would confuse himself, Suna and Osamu would understand him. They're his best friends after all.

Jeez, people going on and thinking

That fame's nothing but ducking problems

Assuming some wealth

But they summon dozens of crummy demons

They done and gon' fuck themselves as they come up screaming

Tendou would always assume that (Y/n) is doing fine, as he's always smiling, and laughing, but in reality, that expectation, and assumption was killing (Y/n)'s mind slowly. He didn't know how to stop it, that was the purpose this song was supposed to serve; to make (Y/n) feel better. For him to vent his feelings.

Help! Oh, well

Everybody going up, but I'm going to hell

I don't even give a fuck what I'm doing, who cares?

I be thinking that I'm nuts, but who isn't?

I stare, I stare screaming

Help! Oh, well

Everybody going up, but I'm going to hell

I don't even give a fuck what I'm doing, who cares?

I be thinking that I'm nuts, but who isn't?

I stare, I stare screaming

As I said, these thoughts are silently killing (Y/n)'s sanity, even though they shouldn't be in his opinion, they are. The thought of him slowly going insane is making him become slowly insane, the thought of everyone leaving him is making him disconnected from everyone.

"Friends are coming someday, " I said

Fame hits

Gained some, dummy I am, lost them

Oh, shit

He always thought he'd make more friends than Tendou, Suna, Shirabu, Osamu, and Wakatoshi. What an idiot he was, though, since he wrote the song monster, and became famous. Now everyone just wants to befriend him because of his fame. He lost his opportunity to have normal friends who don't hoard him. Oh shit, what did you do?

All alone I ponder, wonder if I'm ever gonna find some

Never thought it could get harder, happens when your evil

Would he ever find a lover who isn't using him for money? A genuine lover? (Y/n) would never know. He knew he was madly in love with Satori, but he's just a friend, and he didn't wanna ruin it. He hated the feeling. Love. Such a useless feeling he felt.

"Hello, can I be your friend-O?"

"Adam ((Y/n)), you're great, you fucking make me want to explode!"

"Hey, since I got you, shout me out and then help me grow"

"Wait, what the fuck did you just tell me?

Fucking heck no? Bitch, go!"

"Hello, can I be your friend-O?"

Everybody looking at me making this joke

I'm getting sick of it, I think I'm going mental

Can't even make some friends who sinking in the same boat

Ah, no, help!

Angry, mad at the world!

I'm freaking

I know it's absurd, but these are the things that keeping me up

My demons

I'm pushing most people away

Despiting the fact that some great

Just used to an industry of manipulate

Every time, I'm doing it often

Then often find myself huffing and puffing, I'm fussing

Compliments. Some of the most annoying things in his life are compliments. He never had much of a response to compliments, since he knew they were just that, or the person/people complimenting has another intention behind the compliment. They're almost never genuine. He wished that people just never compliment him sometimes, but at the same time, he wished more people liked what he did. With every thought he has, he's contradicting himself. He's just so pissed at the world, pissed at himself for not being able to make up his mind, mad at himself for letting his demons get to him. He remembered so clearly. He had a crush on this guy in his class, but he just used (Y/n) for fame, which broke (Y/n)'s heart to pieces. He cried to Tendou for hours while he comforted (Y/n) for the whole time. Satori was there for (Y/n) all the time. Memories of Satori have always been (Y/n)'s reminder that not everybody is looking to use him for fame, and money.

My eyes are blinking

Pretty immature

Need to try out something different

I'm missing when things were simple, but hear me listen

I'll never stop pursuing what I fucking love

I'm doing everything I can

I'm making sure I rise above

But sometimes I feel like it's often going off the wall

But, huh

I'm just a youngin', built this stuff alone

Edge double sword, I think I'm holding screaming

(Y/n) blinked. He stood in front of the dining table where his father shamed him to no end about being into boys when being a boy himself. It was so dumb... literally so dumb. It was such an immature reaction from (Y/n)'s parents, finding out that their son was gay. Flipping out like a 5 year old whose mom doesn't allow them to get a toy won't change a person's sexuality.

"That's it, get out of the house!" His father screamed at the scared 17 year old. He only nodded, and exited through the front door, but before he could, he heard his mother who stayed silent for the whole argument.

"AND NEVER FUCKING COME BACK TO THIS FUCKING HOUSE, YOU FUCKING PANSY!"

He only sighed, and walked away. He needed someone right now. Luckily he packed his bag, and put everything away in his dorm beforehand, since he half expected this to happen. He went to his then only friend in Miyagi, Tendou Satori's house. Satori knew that (Y/n)'s parents had kicked him out, judging by his expression, and the fact that the two had planned that if (Y/n)'s parents kicked him out, he'd go to his house. Tendou allowed (Y/n) to enter, and Tendou's parents welcomed (Y/n) with open arms.

Sometimes, (Y/n) think back to the days that he still was in contact with his parents. They both blocked him from social media, and blocked his number. They obviously wanted nothing to do with him. He just wanted a supportive family, he wished things were simpler sometimes, but if they can't support him, then fuck, he want those poor excuses of parents out of his life as well. Even if his family doesn't support him, he won't stop pursuing what, and who he wants to. He'll make sure his parents hear his name in the radio in the near future, and remember what they did to him. But at the same time as that mission goes, things were getting pretty messy in his head. He's just living his life, though, even if it meant living with his demon-filled mind. His mind is a double edged sword. He's able to write songs with that mind of his, but at the same time, it was also one of the things that caused his depression.

Help!

Help!

Oh, I need help!

I need help!

Oh, I need, I need, I need

Help!

Help!

He needs help. He knows he needs help... Why won't he get help? He doesn't know either. It could be fear. It could be the social construct that boys don't cry. It could be his depression. It could be the useless feeling that's growing in his gut, or it could be that he's madly in love with Satori. Whatever it was, he didn't like it.

.

.

.

"(Y/n)-kun?" Satori called out with his voice as he worried over his crush. He just listened to (Y/n)'s new song, and it was not what he expected. He opened the door as he found (Y/n) crying into the bottom bunk bed. "(Y/n)-kun, are you OK?!" He asked.

"Y-yeah, I'm fine, Satori. I just listened to the new song, and got some nostalgia, that's all." He let out a choked sob, but he smiled at Tendou.

"If you were feeling this way why didn't you tell me?"

"... I don't know, I thought I had to deal with it alone."

"How about this, I'll take you out for dinner tonight! It's on me!" Satori exclaimed. (Y/n) smiled sadly at Satori's happy go lucky attitude he knew he'd probably never be able to match.

"Of course. It's a date." (Y/n) stated boldly as he got up, and walked to the bathroom.

"A date?" Tendou blushed.
