《haikyuu x reader》❥Hayato Yamagata

❥title: secret
❥story: angst
❥warnings: do I have to
That's the only reason you could think of as an excuse for his now - cold and ignorant attitude. As far as you were aware, Yamagata was protective and often considered as a "softie" towards people that were younger than him. That includes you of course, him being 2 years older didn't really matter.
Well, as cliché as it sounds at the moment. He seemed to grow rather distant towards you, not just you but the rest of his and yours friend group as well as Goshiki - who he actually favoured in their high school days [he's probably the most supportive towards the ex 1st year out of everyone in the team].
Something was off about him and his rather strange 'new' attitude, it was kind of weird that he managed to switch personalities in just one month, but you just shrugged that off. His schedule was nothing but a pigsty these weeks, so it would typically just make sense for him to act all distraught and cold hearted. Right? It's just stress that was causing all this, nothing else but that.
Glancing over to the text message Yamagata had sent you, a loud disappointed yet heavy sigh escaped your lips. Speaking of the male, he had already excused himself and apologised in advance, seeing as his small expedition of work wasn't quite close to its finishing touches. Leaving him alone in his office until dawn had come up. [I love until dawn tbh]
But you nevertheless sent back a positive and reassuring message, seeing as there wasn't a serious reason for you to be irritated, though it was just logical for you to be slightly annoyed. This was already your sixth time eating dinner alone in just a week, you were lucky enough he had atleast a day of break.
An idea popped into your head, he must be in under pressure right about now. His time was ran down up to the point he didn't have any choice but to cancel plans and all that, so why not surprise him with a small welcoming?

Clasping your hands together, the fainting small smile plastered onto your face quickly transitioned and changed noticeablely and visible, allowing anyone in your way to notice such bright demeanour that radiated off of your figure.
With a plan settled in your mind, you got your apron out from the drawer conveniently placed just right infront of the table you leaned against. The color was a light pastel blue that went quite well with the small adorable yet repetitive designs it had printed on, the little bears were smiling and winking stars, it nearly explained your personality just by you wearing it. Truth be told, it was actually the only reason Tendou and Ushijima had given it to you in your birthday just about a year ago.
It reminded them of you, and the olive haired male didn't have time to hesitate and be reluctant when the redhead already made his way towards the counter and immediately slammed the needed currency down, yelling out "PACK IT NOW, YOU'RE SO SLOW?!!?" which Ushijima said he had witnessed in all honesty, you couldn't help but believe Tendou had the guts to shout such a comment out to an employee.
Looking at the ingredients splattered quite neatly on the kitchen table, you tucked a piece of hair strand behind your ear. Preventing the little strings to cover your point of view while cooking as you afterwards - let out a quick huff and a nod.
"Alright, let's see what we can do here."
With a small satisfied giggle escaping your lips, you set the frosting down next to the sink. Quickly glancing towards the little gingerbreads you had made, pou felt quite proud of yourself. Seeing as you baked quite a few counts in just a short amount of time to finish.
The clock had already striked 11 in the night, but your exhaustion wasn't enough reason for you to go all out and wrapping it in such haste and brisk.
Humming quietly, you took off the apron wrapped around your figure before reaching out towards the scarf placed on the hook. Dark maroon in color along with it being sewed in such soft needing, it complimented your black long coat along with the white t-shirt you had chosen to wear for going out. Along with just simple pants and shoes that surprisingly yet somehow went quite nicely.

Taking the wrapped food in your hands, you walked out of the shared home you and Yamagata had. Kicking and locking the door close afterwards, a airy breath escaping your lips.
The street lights were open, helping and guiding your path like a lit up hallway. Only a few cars had droven by, some people were still out in the streets. Which assumedly either just coming back from their work and drinking party, or they had chosen to walk around in such a late time of choice.
Air was still cold as you expected it to be, but that didn't distract you from stopping in your tracks once you had reached the nesr location. It took about atleast 15 minutes on foot when walking, so it didn't take quite long for you to go over.
Smiling to yourself, you quickly walked towards the large building. Greeting the female behind the counter, which she had immediately recognised you of being Yamagata's wife. Though her curiosity didn't leave as invisible once she saw you walk in.
"Ah, Y/n-Senpai, why are you out so late?" She questioned out, addressing you by given name which you assured her to call you that. She didn't need to call you by honorifics though, but she was comfortable in saying such. So there was logical reason to stop her from doing so.
Nodding your head towards the small box, you grinned softly. "I'm here for Hayato," she took notice of your small gesture and immediately got the mental note. "Of course! He's in his usual office, if he isn't. He must be in the conference room fixing a the projector that had broken off earlier."
After a small exchanged of 'thank you', you had already made your way towards the elevator. The quiet ding once it closed doors, as you press the needed button of number.
You grew confused, feeling your heart beat so rapidly once the doors slowly opened its way. Each step you took made your anxiety grow higher by the second.
You felt as if he was hiding something from you, but you paid no mind to it. Seeing as he doesn't have a real excuse and reason to keep a secret from you. Even after being in a relationship with him for all these time and years, why would he?
Once your tracks stopped infront of his office door, you reluctantly yet slwoky opened it. Peeking your eyes before you felt your heart drop by the sight you had witnessed, your husband being straddled down on the waist while making small and soft lewd grunts by the minute.
Tears brimmed the corner of your eyes as you set the box down infront of the door, not wanting to interfere. He was enjoying the moment he was having, you didn't have tbe guts to ruin his happiness at all. And that just made you ruin yourself further more.
Sighing lightly , you turned on your heel and walked away with tears rolling down into your cheeks. Your eyes closed yet a bright smile still plastered on.
He had a secret after all.
'I'm sorry, Y/n.'
'I wanna file a divorce..'
