➳——★——➳
Lately, Iwaizumi had been late to morning practices, normally it would be him scolding Oikawa for being so late due to his annoying fangirls that kept swarming him wherever he goes.
But now it's quite the opposite, Oikawa had surprisingly surpassed Iwaizumi in the time. Even though the captain was still slightly late himself, the ace was beyond late. Probably wasting about 10 minutes of practice time, putting it to waste.
Of course the team were quite aware of the male's strange actions, considering they needed the ace to train as much as they do. It only worried them more that he was also the first one to immediately leave practice once it was done.
So the team just stared at him all day both their morning and after school practices, leaving Iwaizumi slightly demented and agitated about the situation he was unknowingly put in.
Though his confusing disappearance wasn't something the team was perturbed about. He was barely throwing a volleyball to the back of Oikawa's head, not to mention he doesn't get irritated when the captain gets distracted by his 'pRecIous fAngIrls' quoted by the grand King himself.
Even Oikawa himself missed getting kicked and thrown insults at from time to time, such masochistic setter: that it's actually pretty concerning now that you think about it.
"Iwa-chan!" the captain cheers, dropping the volleyball in his hands as he ran towards the confused ace who had an eyebrow lifted up. "Hi?" He greeted, unsure of what to say the moment Oikawa tacked him to the ground with a bear hug.
"Iwa-chan where have you been?!" the wing spiker's brows furrowed in dubiety, not sure on what to answer to Oikawa's question.
"My house..?" He replies unsurely, earning a weird look from his childhood best friend, trying to push him off his body that was still in the ground.
"Trashykawa get off of m-" Iwaizumi stopped after seeing Oikawa's eyes sparkle with imaginary stars in them, his lips curving into a bright wide smile which concerned the ace even more.
"What are you planni—?!"
"Iwa-chan! You called me Trashykawa!" the captain cheered happily, standing up to jump up and down rather excitedly, his face lighting up in euphoria upon hearing his nickname that he hasn't heard for quite a while.

Yes, even his rather "flattering" nickname didn't feel so good and disappeared.
Iwaizumi scrunched up his face with curiosity visibly plastered on, getting up to dust the unnoticeable dust on his clothes. Grabbing his bag that flung onto the ground right beside him, slinging it back to his shoulders after checking to see if there was any damages done.
"Mind explaining what the hug was for?" the dark--close to black haired spiker asked, irritated that he just fell onto the floor, almost hitting the back of his head because of the sudden "attack" his best friend just pulled off so suddenly.
Oikawa wiped a faked tear out of the corner of his eye, earning a cringed out expression from Iwaizumi - who was still waiting for his question to be answered, crossing his arms to show that he was growing impatient as seconds continued to pass by.
"Assykawa! Answ—"
"There it is again!" The ace blinked, looking down to see Oikawa sitting down whilst hugging his left leg quite tightly, acting like he won't see him again tomorrow or something more dramatic and exaggerated that the captain was most likely thinking of.
"Stop clinging onto me! This isn't an IwaOi fanf—oi, what are you doing now?" He asked, raising a brow as Oikawa took out his phone to snap a quick picture of himself hugging the ace's leg whilst crying happy tears. Which Iwaizumi felt slightly concerning about.
The wing spiker clicked his tounge, irked by the captain's actions - in result for him to hit his best friend on the head with his hand. Only for Oikawa to react even more happier than before.
Iwaizumi eventually gave up on asking him, probably already knowing that he won't get anything but Oikawa crying and clinging onto legs.
With a eye roll, he turned towards the team who were just staring at the two with smiles on their faces. Earning a raised eyebrow from him.
"Why is everyone so.. Smiley?" He asked to no one in a specific way, hoping for atleast one of them to answer and finally satisfy him without the needs to "choking" Oikawa into answering him.
Luckily, Watari was the first one to understand his irritated composure. "Well, we've been noticing you always arrive late in practices nowadays."

"And ironically the first one to leave despite missing a few minutes of activities," Hanamaki continued, slinging an arm over Matsukawa's shoulders whilst the others either nod or hummed in agreement.
Iwaizumi suddenly felt guilty as he awkwardly scratched the back of his head, shooting them an apologetic expression. "Sorry, I'm just checking out the basketball tea—"
"No!" he flinched, struggling and stumbling into his steps by the sudden out burst in unison of the team, "I-okay! Sorry, I'll add a few laps in the punishment I'll most likely receive as an apology." he replies, suddenly wanting to take his words back because that would be slightly difficult for him to do.
But he's Iwaizumi Hajime, he can throw Oikawa to the moon if he wanted to.
cause like.. Them muscles right
The captain looked up to him with an angry pout and a expression that had disapproval in it. "You're not joining the basketball team!" Iwaizuimi blinked, scrunching up his face in a confused way.
"The hell are you saying? I'm interested in volleyball." the ace rolled his eyes at the rather bold assumption his captain just guessed.
Oikawa however, was still not pleased and contented. "Hmph! What's so good about that sport anyways.." Iwaizumi clicked tounge in annoyance, using all his force to push Oikawa away from his left leg, earning a grunt from the fallen male.
"Shut up Trashykawa."
"I should insult it more often!" his eyes shined once again with stars as he cheered, giddy at the nickname he actually and surprisingly missed hearing.
Iwaizumi just growled and rolled his eyes, suddenly in the mood to beat up the captain with his bare hands but decided to go against it - knowing he would most likely get in trouble.
"I'll just go for a quick bathroom break," he excused himself after plopping his bag down to the floor, walking out the gym before Oikawa got up and clasped his hands together with a look that says "idea."
"Team!"
"Captain?"
"I have a plan," Oikawa smirked as they all exchanged reluctant and uncertain looks, but decided to agree on whatever their captain's 'sTupId' idea was.
.
"I'm not sure if this is necessary Oikawa." Matsukawa commented, removing the sunglasses from his eyes as the setter forcibly placed it back, earning a wince and a grunt from the middle blocker.
"Shush Mattsun, Iwa-chan is gonna see us if you don't put that on!" he scolded quietly, pouting and slightly giving a glare towards the bewildered male behind him.
"It doesn't even make a difference, we're literally wearing our unifor—"
"Look there he is!" the grand king cuts off, earning a heavy sigh from Kunimi who was beside him, probably asking himself on why he even agreed to do this in the first place.
From Oikawa's point of view, they all looked like some type of secret spy agent or something his fantasies came up with. But really, they're just teens in a uniform and shades stalking another teen from a distance.
Iwaizumi stood inside the slightly small outside court the school luckily had, which made the basketball team still functional in many ways.
"Why's he with the girl's team?" Kindaichi asked, narrowing his eyes in hopes of getting a better view of the ace that was slightly far away from his point of view.
"Maybe he's a coach there?"
"He likes volleyball." Oikawa narrowed his eyes and glared, making the other male slightly shiver and sigh.
"Do you think he's watching because he wants to join?" Hanamaki assumed, earning a glare from his captain which made him mimick the stare back at him.
"Or maybe he just wants to watch for fun." Kunimi shrugged at his own words, playing wihh Kindaichi's fingers as he does so. "Maybe he wants to learn basketball?"
"Or maybe he just wants to support his girlfriend?" they all flinched, looking over to an irritated Iwaizumi right beside them.
"The hell are you guys doin—"
"What?!"
"Trashykawa, you're 20 minutes late. I got here 10 minutes ago. Where were you?"
"I was supporting my girlfriend~"
"For the last damn time, Y/n isn't your girlfriend."
"But Iwa-chan, no girl can resis—"
"Don't make me stick a volleyball up in your none existent ass."
"Y-yes sir!"
