❥title: face it.

❥story: angst

❥warnings: none

Your husband fluttered his eyes open, sitting down with a soft yawn escaping from his mouth, rubbing his still-lazy yet teary eyes at the same time.

It wasn't like him to wake up this early in the morning, but he couldn't sleep at all despite being home early from work last night. Something was bothering him, keeping him awake for as long as he could remember.

Though his tiredness wasn't really visible until you glance underneath his eyes, where dark circles are appearing so suddenly, which lack of sleep was the most obvious assumption.

Getting up from the bed, he felt the cold floor hit his feet, making him sigh heavily, standing up whilst dragging his sleeping state to wherever he desires to go.

Of course he first picked the bathroom ,grabbing his toothbrush, gliding his hands through his teeth along with a few coughs escaping his mouth from time to time.

Hanamaki finished his business and routine in there, dragging his feet to the kitchen, wrapping an apron around his waist along with a small yet adorable chef hat.

Squinting his eyes, he was deep in thought, not knowing what to cook for both you and him in the early mornings. Shrugging his shoulders, he decided to make a cliche bacon and eggs, since that's probably the only thing he could actually cook without burning.

He let's out a satisfied sigh, staring at his own masterpiece in amusement, his eyes closing along with a wide bright smile plastering onto his lips, proud of what he just done.

Hanamaki took of the apron along with the chef hat, which lead to his small disappointment that his roleplay as a chef ended quite quicker than he thought.

With a small clear of his throat, "Love! Breakfast is ready!" receiving no reply, he chuckled to himself. Knowing you were still peacefully sleeping on the shared bed you two had.

But he simply brushed it off, not wanting to wake you up from your deep slumber. After what happened last night, he couldn't bring himself to go and awake you.

Your lips were cold, colder than any ice has had every touched, your skin tone paler than usual, reminding him of a vampire or something. He asked you about it but all you did was shake your head along with your shoulders shrugging.

So he made the assumption you were ill, all he wanted was for you to get a good needed sleep to get a bit better quicker.

With another lazy yawn escaping his lips, he sat down, eating by himself which he didn't mind at all. You were going to eat with him at lunch anyways, so it wasn't a big deal.

It didn't take too long for him to finish his meal, wiping his slightly dirty lips before standing up, plate in hand to wash and put away.

Hanamaki hummed a tune while happily washing his plates, his heads bobbing to the beat from time to time, enjoying himself even though he was doing chores.

Of course at the same time, he felt quite empty today, very similar to the feeling of loosing something. But he brushed it off, thinking it was the thought you were ill today, so he didn't think much of it.

The ex volleyball player heard a ding form his phone, making him stop his scrubbing on the plate as he made his way towards the table, grabbing the little gadget into his hand.

Matsukawa

Hey, can I come over today? I'm kinda bored

Hanamaki

Aw yeah sure, the front door is open. Just be careful, Y/n is still sleeping.

Matsukawa

Taka...

He ignored the last few messages that his best friend had sent him with a grunt, rolling his eyes in annoyance along with his tounge clicking.

But Hanamaki couldn't help but agree and feel guilty about it, he knew Matsukawa was beyond right about his statements and he needed to understand that.

Nonetheless, he shaked his head, trying to remove his negative yet truthful thoughts, finishing up the last dirty plates before walking away from the sink.

Hanamaki sat down on the living room couch, his eyes closing in comfort, a satisfied sigh coming out of his lips at the same time.

Again opening them to glance at the wall clock planted across the room, squinting his eyes to perhaps get a better view of the numbers.

With a shrug, the doorbell rang from outside as he groans in annoyance, upset that he didn't get to sit on the couch for more than 2 minutes.

So your husband lazily walked over to the front door, opening it to see a frowning Matsukawa.

Hanamaki shouldn't be surprised that his best friend got there in such lightning speed, his house was only a few walks away, so it shouldn't be a mystery why he got there so quick.

Your husband smield brightly, though it seemed to be frowning at the same time. Atleast that's what Matsukawa saw behind that bittersweet smile.

"Hey! Come in," he invited, stepping aside to let the other in with no 2nd thoughts.

"So, what's up? What do ya wanna do? I got a volleyball in the attic?" your lover suggested with another fake grin.

Instead of a response from Matsukawa, he gasped quietly as he felt a pair of strong arms hugging him tight.

"Taka.." the other male trailed off, hugging him closer and tighter, Hanamaki felt liquid droplets fall on shirt, surprising him.

Matsukawa was.. Crying?

"Please.." the other male pleaded, dropping down to his knees, dragging your husband along to the floor.

"This isn't healthy..please stop this.." unknown to Hanamaki himself, he burst out to tears, clinging onto his best friend like his life depended on it.

The room felt cold, lonely along with emptiness. The atmosphere was heavy and thick, it could almost suffocate you to death.

The mattress of the bed you two shared, half of it remained untouched. Which where he thought you were laying on.

The breakfast he cooked for you, turned cold before anything else.

His mouth agape but no words were spoken, except for sobs that escaped his lips, hiccups was included in some of them. All Matsukawa could do was whisper soothing words to your husband, doing his best to comfort him.

You were peacefully sleeping, not on the bed, not on the couch, not on a chair, not on a table. But a coffin that held your unconscious body that will never once again, wake up.

Matsukawa

Taka...

Matsukawa

Its been 2 years already.

Matsukawa

She's long gone, I'm sorry.

Im getting worse at these angst stories, so imma just dig a ditch to cry in.

But I should practice more first before I do that—
