"Come on Y/n.. Pleaseeeee!" your male best friend, Kuroo, whined out from the other line of the phone.
"No Kuroo." you reply as he whined again, "Please, I'll treat you food~" you bit your lip, this guy knows your weakness.
"Alright fine, t-this is so stupid.." you mutter as you hear him celebrating from the other line, "Yosshh! Kenma did you hear th-"
"Please shut up."
"Oh-sorry." you snickered at the two males before sighing, Kuroo ended the call with his final thanks and goodbye as you plopped down on your bed.
"This is..this is a bad idea." you mumble into your pillow as you rethink your decisions.
Kuroo called you a few minutes earlier and told you that he suddenly thought of a good idea, being the good friend that you are, listened of course.
Well the idea was fine for him just not for you.
He told you a plan, a plan that would make THE Bokuto jealous.
Omg stupid right? No why would I ask that we all love a jealous bean right?
Apparently he managed to convince Akaashi to go with the plan, who knows how the bedhead Nekoma Captain did it.
You're totally gonna kill Kuroo for this, and kind of ironic that you acceoted anyways.
"I'm surprised you agreed to this, Akaashi-San." you say with a surprised tone to the pretty male as he sighs quietly.
"I wasn't suppose to.." he replies, remembering what Kuroo threathed him yesterday in their call.
"Huh? Why?" you asked as he slightly cringed from recalling the past events, "Blackmail.." he muttered as you blinked for a few times.
"Eh?! Isn't that illegal Akaashi-San?!" you exclaimed as he looks at you and nods, "Wait-what's the Blackmail about?"
"Me Shirtless."
"That isn't so ba-"
"He wants to sell the pictures to my fan girls." he interjected making you gasp and face palm, "Stupid Kuroo.." you mutter as he glances at you.
"What about you? Why'd you agree?" He asked, even though he already has an idea on what it is. "Food.." you reply quietly making him snicker.
"I see." he pauses to see the Owl running towards the two of you with a smile, "Akaashii~! Y/N! hey Hey Hey!" you waved lightly to your lover and stiffened up.

"You know you could always back out before he makes it to us." Akaashi says, waving at his best friend. "I wish i could but Kuroo has your pics you know?"
"I could always report him to the police."
"E-eh? E-even worse!" you paused to sigh, "L-let's just get this over with.." you continued making Akaashi shrug and nod lightly.
"Alright..here he comes." you hear Akaashi mutter, making you shiver a bit.
You're so gonna regret this.
Not even a second later, Bokuto finally made it infront the both of you with his wide enthusiastic smile.
Glancing at Akaashi, you can tell he's already regretting his life choices and probably will strangle Kuroo to death.
You shivered at the thought.
"What were you guys talking about?" He asked as he placed himself in the middle of both of you, slinging his arms to place it around you and the pretty male's shoulder as the 3 of you walked.
"I-"
"The dinner we were going to have." Akaashi interjected, right off the bat he already lied.
Bokuto's eyes lightened up, his smiled getting wider. "Really?! Where are we going to eat at?!" He asked happily as Akaashi shakes his hand.
"Sorry Bokuto-San, its just me and Y/n." he answered as Bokuto's smile faltered, "Eh? Why only the two of you?" He asked again, suspicious.
"A chance for us to get to know each other better." he simply replied as Bokuto removes his arms from both of your shoulders.
"Eh? W-"
"We need to practice Bokuto-San." Akaashi cuts off, glancing at the male as he frowns. "But-"
"Bokuto-Kun, were going to be late." you stared making Bokuto bite his lower lip a bit as he sighs, "Alright fine.." he mutters as he follows the two of you.
Akaashi purposely eyed you up and down making you heat up as Bokuto raised an eyebrow, noticing what the pretty male just did.
"You look nice today, Y/n-San." he complimented, looking at you in the eye as you tuck a hajr strand behind your ear in embarrassment.
He's taking this seriously-
"A-ah, y-you're not so bad yourself.. Akaashi-San." you complimented back as Akaashi muttered a soft thanks.
"What about me?!" Bokuto whined, stomping his feet as both of you glanced at him, "Ah.. Yeah." Akaashi says, intentionally trying to make things awkward between them.

Bokuto blinked and stared at the male for a few seconds before adverting his gaze to you.
"Bokuto-San." Akaashi called out, motioning for the male to walk faster, Bokuto simply followed the both of you with a small frown.
Akaashi gave you a side glance, "Are you okay with this?" He muttered, not wanting to make you feel guilty or something.
You shake your head with a small smile, "Ah-no its okay-"
"What's okay?" Bokuto suddenly asked as he cuts off your words, shaking your head lightly you give him a small smile. "Nothing."
Bokuto frowned at this, "Why are you guys so mysterious today? Should I be concerned?" He stated once again, placing his hands in his pockets, waiting for an answer.
Akaashi looked forward and mutters a: "No you shouldn't.." quietly so that the other male wouldn't hear him.
"No reason to be concerned Bokuto-San." Akaashi says, glancing at the male by his shoulder.
"Can I atleast come to dinner?"
"Bokuto-San." Akaashi called out and gave him a small stare whilst the other male frowned even more, "But that's so suspicious!"
"What's so suspicious about that?" you butt in as you played it cooly, Bokuto glanced at you and furrowed his Eyebrows.
"My best friend and lover, going out for dinner without me. Ain't that suspicious?!"
"No?"
"I don't think so Bokuto-San.." both you and Akaashi answered in unison, Bokuto's mouth agape as he stared at the two of you back and forth.
"Bokuto-San." Akaashi calls as he tossed the ball to the ace, Bokuto hit it easily and yelled a "Hey hey hey!"
"Hey hey.. Hey.." the rest of the team repeats, unsure on why they were saying this in the first place.
Bonuto turned to you with a smile, "Did you see tha—"
"Nice toss Akaashi-San." you complimented, giving the pretty male a thumbs up and a soft smile. "Thank you Y/n." he replies and does a small grin back.
"Bokuto just get rejected."
"Everybody wanna steal my girl~"
"Was that English?"
"Yeah?"
Bokuto eyed you and Akaashi suspiciously before turning his back to walk away. Akaashi walked over at you and chuckled.
"You're really taking this seriously huh." He commented as you sigh and pull out your phone from your pocket.
He slightly widened his eyes to see Kuroo in dial, "Hey Akaashi~!" the bedhead calls from the other line.
"Hn? You're allowed to use your phone is practice?"
"I called in sick."
"Why?"
"I wanna listen to this~it's my plan after all."
"Aren't you the captain?"
"Yeah so what?"
"Nothing...?" Akaashi replied, slightly unsure on why he would cancel his volleyball practice just for the reaction of your lover.
"So far it's been boring." Kuroo whined as you hear shuffling from the other line, "Okay? And?" you sassed as you hear him laugh.
"I want moreee!" he exaggerates making you raise an eyebrow even though he couldn't see you, "What do you mean?"
"Just show Akaashi more affection or something."
"That would be a horrible idea."
"Exactly! Wonderful right?" you blinked a few times before both you and Akaashi sighed heavily.
"That would lead him to his emo mode.." Akaashi pointed out, staring blankly at your screen as the bedhead chuckles.
"Even better!"
"Kuroo I wanna strangle you.."
"That's kinky Y/n-san~"
"Why you!"
"Nice toss Akaashi-San! That was on point!" you exclaimed, clapping your hands as Akaashi shot you a small smile, "Thank yo—"
"Akaashi..."
Oh here it is.
Bokuto eyed the both of you before pointing, "Don't talk to me anymore!" he stated before grunting as you sigh along with the pretty male.
"Alright then." Akaashi says in a monotone voice, "Then please clam down at the time we aren—"
"No not 'we' only you! Because Y/n is mine! Mineee!" he whined as he repeatedly stomped his feet before taking your wrist and walking out.
"Bokuto?" you call as you poked his cheek, he turns to you and pouts. "Don't you love me anymore? '
"Of course I do!" you smiled.
"But.. you and Akaashi.."
"Blame Kuroo—"
"BWAHAHA!" you hear Kuroo's laugh from your phone as you sigh, Bokuto stared at your pocket before you got it out.
"Hey hey bro~"
"NANI?!"

Algier, average human and recent convict, has committed the gravest sin of all: demon slaying. His fate? To participate in the Culling, a battle-royale style tournament that’s televised live to the world, where all the worst criminals go to die. As with all tournaments, a prize is on the line. If Algier survives, he can have any wish granted by the Marquises, the new rulers of Earth following the demons’ invasion. However, there’s little hope for survival in a tournament designed to have demons do the work of the executioner, especially for a human. Demons are stronger, faster, wiser, and more talented than the average human, and, despite his crime, Algier is no demon hunter. Mentally defeated before the tournament even begins, Algier is torn between becoming another demon’s points and fighting on in his dead mother’s legacy. But should he choose to fight, there is one advantage that Algier has that can tip the odds in his favour: Demons don’t lie, but humans can. How to read this story Demons Don't Lie is written from the perspective of an unreliable (lying) narrator. There are many inconsistencies within the story which are placed there intentionally. It's up to the reader to decide what is the truth and what is the lie. Promotion Full quality cover image
