"B-Ben?" You whispered softly. The day you first met flashed in your mind.

"y/n, sweetie, this is my friend Leia." Your mother smiled at you. You were hiding behind her, looking up with scared eyes.

"Hello y/n, it is nice to meet you." Leia bent down and smiled at you. You shyly smiled back, before trusting her. You hugged her, and she pulled you onto her lap.

"Mummy, who is that?" A young boy with black hair came out of the house.

You shyly turned away from him, playing with Leia's brown locks that hung loosely down her back. "This is m/n's daughter, y/n." Leia stood up, walking over to her son and carrying you.

"She's a girl." The boy poked his tongue out in disgust.

"Now Ben, be nice. y/n, this is Ben." She smiled at you. You looked down at the boy, smiling softly.

"Hello." Leia set you down and you held your hand out in front of the boy. "My name's y/n."

"I'm Ben." He stiffly shook your hand, before wiping his own on his shirt. "Don't want to get germs," he muttered under his breath.

"What happened to you? You were supposed to grow up, and become a Jedi under Luke's training. Why are you doing this to me?" Tears were streaming down your face. Of all your friends, Ben was the last person you thought would betray you. Now here he was, fulfilling your fears.

"My name is Kylo Ren. Ben no longer exists. He was too weak, too foolish. I destroyed him, and gained power. I became a Sith under Supreme Leader Snoke's guidance, and you can too, if you join me."

That was his horrible offer. Join him, or die. You knew that you would never turn to the Dark Side, but you were conflicted. You loved Ben, and wanted to be with him, but he was no longer the Ben you knew. He was Kylo Ren.

"I may have loved you, but I will never join you. The Ben I love is not dead. The sweet, caring Ben that I love is still inside you. You just have to push away Kylo Ren, and you will—"

"No. Ben was a mistake. But I, Kylo Ren, am powerful. I am stronger than ever in the ways of the Force, and I can teach you too. All you have to do is join me. I love you too, y/n." He put his hand on your cheek, wiping away your tears.

You turned away from him, considering his offer. Ben does seem to have a good offer, but on the other hand, he is no longer the Ben I knew. But he loves me, and we could be together. Yet he is evil and a monster. However... There is no however.

"I don't know you anymore! You're breaking my heart! You are going down a path I cannot follow!" You screamed in agony. "Ben, I'm sorry but I would rather die than join you. You are not the man I love. You are no longer the man I want to spend the rest of my life with. We are enemies now."

You glared at him with newfound hate in your eyes. "You are a monster."

With that last word, his head shot up. Kylo turned on his lightsaber, the red energy flashing in the dim light. His eyes showed anger and.. a little bit of pain? "I am truly sorry, y/n, but you leave me no choice." Kylo swung his lightsaber, and you closed your eyes. The last thing you wanted to see was his angry face. The lightsaber impaled your stomach, and you collapsed on the floor.

"S-so this is how liberty dies... with th-thunderous applause." You whispered.

Kylo kissed you, cold iron lips meeting warm ones. The bittersweet first and last kiss.
