I was getting on my gear, when I heard someone shout, "Lil' Dameron!" I turn around to see my best friend, Finn. Finn was a great guy, he helped Poe escape from the First Order, amd if it wasn't for him, my brother could have died. And I couldn't help but to develop a little crush on him- oh who am I kidding?! It's a big crush.

Finn walks up to me, "Finn! The man, the myth, and the legend!" I say, and he lifts me up, and I give him hug.

"Did you just get back from your mission?" I ask him, and he nods,

"Yep! And we succeeded ! What about you? Are you about to leave?" He asked looking at me.

I sigh deeply, "Sadly, yes. I'm about to go on a mission with Poe." I say, and Finn looks a little upset,

"What's your mission?" Finn asked, and I pull on my boots, "We have to go to Hoth, and help a few Resistance pilots get their ships back up and running." I say, and he looks up,

"Isn't that the place with those abominable snowmen?" He asked, and I chuckled, "Wampas? And yeah, they're are some there. But they hardly ever go near the base." I say, and Poe runs up behind Finn.

"Finn, buddy! It's nice to see your back! But sadly, we have to leave, or those pilots will freeze to death. Come on Y/N, bye Finn." Poe says, slapping Finn on the back.

Finn walks up to me, "Hey, Y/N, I have to tell you something before you go..." He said, and I nod my head, "Okay, what is it?" I ask.

"Well, uh, um, I have feel-" before he could finish, Poe came running back, and grabbed my hand, "Mission now, talk later." Poe says dragging me to the X-Wings, "We'll talk later Finn!" I shout, and he looks a little disappointed.

I took off my helmet, and climbed out of my X-Wing. Poe helped me down, and we were met by the Resistance Pilots: Janston, Seeley, and Dirk.

"Hey, Dameron, and little Dameron." Seeley said, and I look at him, "Just call me Y/N. No need for the 'little Dameron' business." I say, and the four guys start laughing.

I begin to look around this big ice cube, and it was freezing.

"Be careful, Wampas have been coming up to the base. I don't know what's changing out there, but they start coming in, and their hard to kill." Dirk says, and I begin to look around.

We begin walking into the base, "Here are the X-Wings, I think it may be getting too cold for them to start up. But I also think there's something wrong with the wiring in that one." Janston says, pointing at it.

"Y/N, go into the control room, and there should be some new wiring cables. Get them, and bring them back, please." Poe says, and I nod walking into the control room.

The hall were long, and even there were ice sickles hanging from the ceiling. This base was abandoned long ago during the Rebellion, and hasn't been used since. And General Organa thought it might be a good place to start up another base, so she sent the three stooges to explore the planet to make sure no one else is here. But their X-Wings wouldn't start and now I'm here, in the freezing cold, getting wire cables.

I grabbed them off of a shelf, but I heard a bang in the opposite direction from which I came from. I put a hand on my blaster, and began walking towards the spot where I heard the sound. I tripped over a box, and got my foot caught into the grate on the bridge that connected the two hallways together, "Ow, ow, ow." I hiss as I try to take my foot put of the weird grate attached to the bridge. But something else caught my eye, there was a puddle of blood right next to me on the floor.

I hear a grumble behind me, and see a shadow on the wall. I hear it growling and it's coming closer, I grab out my comm, "Poe!? Can you hear me?!" I yell into the comm, and he answers, "Y/N?! What's wrong are you okay?" He asked, and before I can scream, the Wampas hits me in the head really hard, knocking me out.

I heard a roar through the comm link, and all of us ran to the control room, and see a wampa trying to drag Y/N, but she wouldn't budge. I grabbed my blaster and shot at the thing, and it roared loudly. The four of us shot all at once, and it collapsed to the floor, and I ran over to Y/N.

I shook her and she wouldn't wake up, so I checked her pulse. "Come on, Y/N, don't do this to me now." I say and begin to pull her foot out of the grate.

I picked her up in my arms, and ran her to my X-Wing, and I had to squeeze her in there. I called General Organa to give her a heads up, and she sent more pilots to help the others.

I landed at the Resistance base, and I jumped out, cradling Y/N in my arms,

"You'll be okay, Y/N... You'll be okay... " I whispered to her, and the medics came, and got her.

I ran over to Poe, because he was holding what looked like a lifeless body, and I kept repeating in my head, "Please don't be Y/N. Please don't be Y/N. Please don't be Y/N."

I go to him, and he looked at me, and his face said it all. It was in fact Y/N.

I ran with the medics while they took her into the recovery rooms, I looked over at her face, it was bruised, and bloodied.

They wouldn't let me into the room with her, and I sat in a chair with my head in between my hands.

An hour later, General Organa walked up to Poe and I. We both stood up, and she gave us a small smile.

"General, how is she?" Poe asked, and she looked down, "She had a little head trauma, but she still isn't conscious. But they said she should wake up soon, but she'll be fine, Poe." She said and walked slowly down the hallway.

A nurse came out and told us we could go into the room. I pulled up a chair right next to the bed, and held

Y/N's hand in mine, planting a kiss on her knuckles. I pulled a strand of hair out of her face, and tucked it behind her ear.

Poe looked at me, Aren't you?"

I looked down at the ground, "Is it obvious?" I ask, and Poe chuckles, "Yeah, it's really obvious. Everyone has noticed your feelings for her, except her of course. She's oblivious." Poe said, and I chuckled.

A little bit later, Poe left to take a shower. Y/N still wasn't waking up, and it was scaring me so I picked her small hand in mine,

"Y/N, I know you might not be able to hear me, but it's worth the shot. I'm just going to get straight to the point, I love you. Not in the friend way, or the brotherly way, I love you. Like I want us to be more than just friends." I said, and began to speak again. "After I escaped from the First Order, I never thought in a million years, I would fall in love. But you,

Y/N Y/M/N Dameron, proved me wrong. And today made me realise that life is short, and I should seize the moment, because there might not be a tomorrow. And I want you to know that I love you so much, Y/N." I said, with a tear rolling down my face.

"And I want you to know that I love you so much, Y/N." Finn said.

Little did Finn know that I was awake then entire time, listening to his speech. I opened my eyes,"That was so beautiful, Finn." I said, and he jumped up, I must've frightened him.

I chuckle, "You're awake?! You heard all of that?" He asked, his eyes widen.

I grab his hand, and sat up in the bed,

"Yes, I did. And I love you too, Finn. And not in friend way or in a sisterly way. " I say, and when he grabbed my face and kissed my lips, I was surprised.

But soon, I melted in the kiss, and after we pulled apart to catch our breath, I hear someone clear their throat.

Poe stood there with a grin on his face, "I'm glad you're up, Y/N." He said and hugged me, "And Finn, I think we should have a quick talk." He said, motioning him to follow him outside.

I lied back down, and had a big smile on my face. How did I get so lucky? All this time, I thought he didn't like me, but he did, I guess getting hit by a Wampa wasn't so bad after all....
