It was winter time and I was walking through the woods to get to my home. But something caught my eye, a young boy shivering, all bunched up in a small, worn out blanket. I quickly walked over to him, and he was asleep, I gently touched his shoulder, and he opened his eyes quickly,
"Please, don't kill me!" He shouts, and takes in his surroundings.
I chuckled, "I'm not here to hurt you. I'm wondering how come you're asleep in the woods, in the middle of winter."
He looks at me, then turns over, "Just go away, lady. I can take care of myself."
Then I mentally slapped myself, He's homeless. Duh. Why else would he be sleeping in the woods?
"Come with me." I say, and he looks at me, I turned on my flashlight, and his eyes were red, his cheeks a deep pink color, and I could hear his stomach growling.
He didn't answer, he stood up, but soon fell back down, and he passed out.
"Kid? Hey kid? Wake up!" I say, and he doesn't flinch.
So I did what I had to do. I picked him up, and carried him to my house, instantly my 'mom' instincts kicked in. I did have children, but my family died in a fire a few years ago, and I was the only one who survived.
I placed the boy on a bed in the guest bedroom, and lit the fire place that was in there. I quickly went to the hall closet and got as many blankets as I could find, and placed them on him.
Now it was just the process of waiting for him to wake up. I grab some clothes out of a dresser that I knew would fit the young boy. He only had to be 12, and that was the same age as my son, so I knew the clothes would fit him.
After setting those out, I went to my kitchen to make some soup for him. But I also had a turkey in the oven, because I knew they boy had to be hungry.
I hear a sneeze from the other room, I poured him a glass of warm bantha milk, and walked into the room.

He looked over at me, and I smiled,
"You're awake." I say, and handed him the milk, he gladly accepted it, and drank all of it.
"What's your name, sweetie?" I asked him.
He looked hesitant to answer, but he answered, "Han. Han Solo.."
"Nice to me you, Han. I am Y/N Y/L/N." I reply, and he sits up,
"Why did you help me?" He asked.
"Because you needed help, and you reminded me of my son." I reply, and stand up. "Let's go get you cleaned up. Dinner is almost ready, and I have a new pair of clothes for you." I say, and help him out of the bed.
I take him to the bathroom, "The soap is right here, and here is a towel. If you need anything, just holler." I say, and gives me a small smile.
*30 minutes later*
Han walked out of the bathroom, with his new clothes on, and he looked so happy, and a lot cleaner. I set all of the food out on the table, and put glasses of water out on the table.
I motioned Han over to the table, and he sat down. I fixed him a plate, and he dug in right away, and I was glad that I found him when I did, or else someone would have found a body in the woods.
I didn't want to ask him why he was sleeping in the woods, or where his family was, because I felt like if he wanted me to know he would tell me. He'll tell me when he is ready.
"So, Han, would you like to live here?" I ask, and he looks up from his plate.
"Are you serious? I-I mean like can I think about it?" Han asked, and you nodded with a smile.
"Yeah! Think about it, but I want you to know, this offer will always be opened." I say and we finished our dinner, and went to bed.
A few days later, after talking, and building his health, and strength back up, he came up to me while I was cleaning the kitchen.
"Y/N?" He said, sitting down at a chair in the kitchen.

"Yes, Han?" I say, and put the rag I was cleaning with down.
He sat there for a second, and rubbed guys hands together, "I thought about what you said, and I want to live with you. If that's okay." He said, and I smiled,
"Of course it's okay, Han. I promise I will take care of you.", I say and he hugged me, "Thank you, Y/N."
*3 years later*
I watched Han grow, and I loved having him around. He eventually told me about his life before I found him, and I promised to protect him. It was just like having my own son back again, he even started calling me 'mom', and I think I started crying when he started calling me that. He even found a friend, a furry friend, and his name was Chewbacca. He lives with us, and he's a total sweetheart.
* 8 years later*
Han finally left the "nest" and I think I cried for an entire month. But he needed to get out there, and explore the galaxy and I understood that. But he became a smuggler, and I would ask or tell him, "Should you do that?" "It's not safe, Han." And he would reply, "Don't worry about it, mom. I'll be fine."
*13 years later*
I was getting sick, and I knew it was almost time for me. One of my closest friends set out to find him, and he found him.
I was in my hospital room, and someone rushed in, and it was Han.
"I tried to get here as fast as I could." Han said, and a beautiful young girl walked in after him.
"Who's this, Han?" I asked with a smile.
He turned and looked the girl and smiled brightly, "This is Leia, my girlfriend."
"Nice to meet you." Leia said, and gave me a quick hug.
"Ah, this was the girl you were always telling me about when you would come visit me." I said, and started coughing, "She's a keeper, Han."
Leia smiles, and Han chuckled, "I plan on keeping her for as long as I can."
Then Chewie came running in, "Arrrgh!! Arrrgh! Argh!"
"Hey, buddy. Would you like a cookie? because some of the neighbors brought them for me, and I can't eat them." I said.
"Argh! Arrr!" Chewie said, and walked over to the cookies, "Help yourself, Chew." I said, and Han smiled.
I started coughing, but it got worse and worse, "Leia will you go get her a cup of water?" Han asked, and Leia was out the door within seconds.
I took off my engagement, right along with my wedding band, "Here. Give this to Leia, when you get ready to propose." I said, and then started coughing again.
"No, mom, you're going to make it." Han said, rubbing my hand.
"No, I'm afraid not, honey." I said, and Chewie gave me a hug, "Arrrgh arrrgh!"
"I love you too, you fuzzball." I said, and Han reached over and gave me a hug, "Please don't go, mom." Han said with a tear sliding down his cheek, and I wiped it away gently. Leia came walking through the door and sat the cup right next to me.
"Han, you truly changed my life. I thought I would never be happy again, especially after losing my family, but you proved me wrong. Thank you." I say, and leaned back as my breathing started to get raspy.
"No, thank you, mom. I could have died in those woods, but you took me in, and I'm grateful. I love you so much." He said, while tears were streaming down his face.
"The force will be with you, always." I said to both of them, and Han started to cry, and Leia started to tear up, "I love you, Han. Take good care of Leia, love her, protect her, and treat her right. Because if I find out you have treated her badly, you can bet on every dime you have, I'll come back and slap you." I say, and Han laughs,
"Okay, mom. I promise, and I love you too." He said, and I kissed his cheek,
"I will always be with you, always." I say, and darkness fell upon me like a blanket.
