"I'm sorry what?" I asked. Of course I always wanted a Padawan but this is just not a good time. First I'm a Mother, now I'll be someone's Master, too? How can I have children outside of the Jedi Order without leaving him?
"Master Yoda assigned me to you. He said you chose me specifically to be your Padawan." He smiled.
"Oh, I did!" I remembered, I had a talk with Master Yoda weeks ago when he asked if I'd thought of having a Padawan, and me saying how once Caleb passed his initiate trials I would love to have him as a padawan. But this was so soon? I was thinking maybe a year from now, when I was better able to teach someone.
"Well then," I straightened up to rise to the occasion, "It's about time we had a proper introduction. I'm (Y/N) (Y/L/N), your new Master." I shook his hand.
"And I'm Caleb Dume, your new Padawan." I had never seen any kid so happy before, besides maybe when I was assigned to Master Windu.
"So, will you teach me?" He asked.
"Teach you what?"
"How to use two lightsabers?" He motioned.
"All in good time, kid. I didn't learn how to use two until just last year. It takes a lot of time." I explained.
"Don't call me kid. And then it's a good thing we have it." He smiled, "Why did you seem so surprised before?"
"You ask a lot of questions." I sighed, this really wasn't what I needed after receiving the news that I have a fetus growing in my uterus.
"Master Yoda said that's why you chose me." He sped up to keep up with my pace, "He said you'd be a perfect Master for me. That you're good at answering questions."
"I am, when they're the right questions." I told him. "I was surprised because I just wasn't expecting you to need a Master so soon. You're so young-"
"Just because I'm young, doesn't mean I'm just as capable as any other new Padawan." He defended himself. It reminded me of myself before being knighted. And the day my crush on Anakin began.
"Trust me, I know age doesn't matter where the force is concerned." I said, as we grabbed a bag to take with us to join the others. "I was just like you when I was younger. I entered the Jedi Order-"
"-Much later than everyone else usually does. And I know you have also been one of the youngest knighted." He said. I smiled at him, this kid did his research.
"That's true." I said, "Anything else I should know about me?"
"Well.. All the other younglings said you were a little unpredictable as far as military strategy. Even more so than General Skywalker. I didn't know that was possible!" He said, then guided me along a path.

"General Skywalker isn't the only one with tricks up his sleeves." I told him.
We walked along the paths, he was asking questions the whole way. The young boy couldn't be more than 13 and he had found so many questions. I answered as many as I could. Others I told him would come with time.
Eventually we came to the walls that surrounded the capital city of Onderon, Iziz. We stayed in the bushes, as low as we could to not raise suspicion. It was the first time I got Caleb to be quiet. We needed to stay low and out of the way. I watched as the battle droids let people go through
"Put your hood on." I told Caleb, I saw the tree that could possibly let us scale that wall. But knowing Separatists they know it too.
"Get your saber ready, and follow my lead." I whispered.
"What? No plan?" He grabbed my arm.
"Oh, um, you're right. I'm used to working on my own." I stopped. I looked back and forth between the guards. I had to teach this kid now.
"You see the droids over there?" He nodded, "Odds are from this tree, our good friends the Separatists already know people-Rebels- can sneak in from there. So theres most likely at least around 10 or 20 droids at the top of that wall. But we get past those and we disappear into the city." I tell him, but as I'm thinking something else comes to mind,
"But wouldn't that-"
"Cause a lot of notice, I know. The Jedi aren't supposed exactly supposed to be here. If the Rebels aren't already known to be in there, they'd know they're there if we were." I changed my mind, "Okay then, change of plan. How are your acting skills?"
"What-?" Caleb rose an eyebrow. But instead we hid our sabers best we could and I fashioned our best peasant look with clothes we found on the outskirts of the path to the city.
We coughed as we walked to the city doors behind a giant group of people bringing in their hunt. A droid stopped us and asked for identification.
"Please, my little brother and I have been trekking for the last two days to get here. We just want to be safe from those Rebels who seem to be taking over the cities." I told them. "They killed my mother." I lied.
"You need identification. Did you check out with your other city? What city?" They asked.
"We left it back home. Please, sir, we just need some water." Caleb said, convincingly. I held his shoulders as he coughed.
"Sir?!" The dumb droid said happy, "Well okay, Let them through!" He ordered.
We walked through the doors. I looked at the tops of the walls, it's a good thing we went the way we did. There's probably about 200 droids on platforms marching along the edges, just on this side of the city.

"We did it!" Caleb cheered, but I shushed him.
"Our mission isn't over, kid. We still need to find Anakin and the rebels." I told him.
"Don't call me kid." He demanded, "They said they'd be in a closed down store in the 4th ally way." He told me.
Eventually we found it. A boarded up shop that we knocked on.
"Who are you?" I heard from behind the door, I saw two eyes come from beneath the wood.
"(Y/N)." I said. The door opened slightly and we both walked inside. There were plenty of people kept here. It looked much bigger on the inside.
Anakin found me as soon as I walked in. He rushed over to hug me. At this point I could care less of what people thought our relationship was. After all that's happened to me today, I need him.
We embraced, I wanted to tell him so bad. I wanted to tell him that I was carrying our baby but I just couldn't do it, not yet.
"How do you feel? Are you okay?" He asked me, touching my shoulder for any wounds.
"I'm fine, all healed up." I said.
"Good, I need you out here." He said.
"I assume you let the Separatist know you're in the city?" I said,
"What gave you that idea?"
"Oh, maybe the 200 battle droids ever square mile gave it away just a bit.
"Only 200?" He said smug, "Well maybe we could've used your help." His expression changed.
"I know I'm sorry, that was dangerous." I started,
"More than dangerous! (Y/N), you could've gotten yourself killed. You know I can't do any of this without you. You scared me. Never go that far out there again without a plan." He scorned me. I felt like a child. He'd be a wonderful father.
"You don't have to talk to me that way. We're the same rank. I do these things to defend the Republic. That's our whole duty." I defended.
"Just because we're the same rank doesn't mean we have equal skill." He started. But I just wanted to slap him. "Our job is to protect the galaxy, not the Republic. Sometimes I think this whole war has made the Jedi's views twisted."
"Don't say that. The best way to protect the galaxy is with the Republic. You're beginning to sound like Obi-Wan. I thought you liked all this action." I said.
"Maybe Obi-Wan is right. And I do, but how long is this war going to go before we all realize that we're just losing more lives on both sides." He said, and I had to agree with that, "It's just, seeing you almost die yesterday scared me. Sometimes I wish we could just be free and be safe somewhere else. Have our own lives."
"I promise you, one day we will. But now we need to fight our hardest for the greater good." I squeezed his arm.
"You're always so much wiser than me." He laughed.
"Oh I don't know about that, I did get shot yesterday." I said.
"Yes, but I'll have to look out for you more now, although I trust you won't do it again?" He rose a brow,
"No!" I pouted, "But now there's two of us to look out for. I'm sure you know-" I pointed to Caleb, who was now talking to Ahsoka.
"Ah, yes your new padawan. When he told me I wanted to see the look on your face." He said, "I knew that's who you wanted as your padawan."
"I know, I just- Do you think it's too soon for me?" I asked. I got some water from the back, where we could be alone.
"I got my Ahsoka around your age. Sometimes the force wills us to do things not when we want them but when we need them. Everyone knows I didn't want to teach yet, but it's a privilege to offer our knowledge to the next generation." He tells me, "You'll be a great teacher for him, I know it. Think of him like our future child." He said, I choked on my water.
"What? Child?" I got out, today was probably the worst day he could say something like that.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. But that's how I think of Ahsoka. She hates that I sometimes act more like her father, but I figure if one day in the future we have a child I'd teach them everything I know. Obi-Wan is the closest thing I have to a parent. So, really in a way it's just like this. And I'm sure you'd be an excellent one." He told me, rubbing my back.
"Yeah.. yeah." I said, thinking about the news burning a giant hole in my belly.
"Are you alright? You seem really not okay lately." He said, handing me something to eat.
"Yes! Of course! Everything is fine. It's just-" I started, "Actually, Anakin it's -"
"The briefing is starting now!" Someone in the main room called us in.
"The council is going to be on this transmission, we have to be there. I'm sorry we'll continue this after, okay? I promise." He kissed my cheek before running out.
"Yeah.. Sure it can wait." I held my stomach, putting my food down.
I stood next to Caleb during the briefing.
Think of him like he's our future child.
I will, Anakin, I will.
