A couple of months later and I'm truly back on my feet. I gave Anakin the cold shoulder until he definitely more than enough made up for it. He would leave me a flower every day, or a nice note when I was home. And some other stuff. If ya know what I mean.
So besides the war increasing every second, and my men being shot down quicker than expected, life was going well again for me. I just finished my 16th official mission with the Green Company to go help the people of Toydaria. They were pulling away from being an independent system and needed the help of the Jedi to keep the Separatists from forcefully taking their world. I have my troops and Gree there right now securing. I just came back to discuss with the council about our next actions with the Toydarians. They need support and especially food to their people after the battle.
After finding my next orders, I went to Anakin's quarters to see him before I left. But he wasn't there. He must be on a different mission. I sighed because I missed him so much. The battle took over a month on Toydaria. Even then I only saw him through holograms and in the middle of it when the 501st got us out of a rut.
Instead I went to Padmé's room. That's where I found Anakin. Perfect.
"Hello?" I said, walking into the room. I looked at them comfortably on the couch. They had refreshments and Anakin was laid back wit his arm over the couch - and, indirectly, her. "Sorry for interrupting."
"(Y/N)! No, you didn't interrupt at all." Padmè said, standing up to give me a hug. Which I accepted, but as I faced over her shoulder I gave Anakin a concerned look, "I thought you were still on Toydaria! Anakin was just telling me all about what a struggle it is there."
"We were able to keep the Separatists off of the Planet for now. Until I get a call from Gree, the Toydarian's should be safe for now." I smiled. Happy to be in the company of my friend.
"I'm so happy to hear that, I've heard good things about your legion. The republic is very happy to have you." She sat back down, and I took a seat across the table.
"I can't stay away from the action for too long." I said.
"That's good, (Y/N), I'm glad to know you're safe." Anakin spoke for the first time.
"Same for you, Anakin." I said, looking away from him.
"(Y/N), I've been needing to talk to you about something." Padmè started, "I understand you were once close with the Bonteri family?" She asks. Oh boy, I knew where this was going. When I returned from a mission a month ago the council asked me to do something involving the Bonteri family that I wasn't comfortable with.

"I was. But that's all behind me. I'm much older than I was then. If you're going to ask me to spy on them, I already told the council it was a bad idea." I said.
"How do you know the Bonteri family?" Anakin asked. I scratched the back of my neck.
"My parents were good friends with them. My mother was a mentor to Mina Bonteri, before she became a Senator." I explained. "Our families were close then."
"Not just that though?" Padmé smirked.
"I'm not sure what you mean." I said, I tried to give the look of not to tell, but she wasn't looking at me. She stared at her glass in amusement.
"Were you not already betrothed to Lux Bonteri before entering the Jedi Order?" Padmé let it slip. I saw Anakin's eyes were surprised.
"Betrothed is a strong word, it was never such a business matter. More like our parents would have wanted that to happen as we grew up and spent close time together." I tried to explain, but I could feel Anakin's unease.
"I don't think it's a good idea, the Bonteri's are dangerous people." He said.
"But the Senate must know the state of the Separatists. The Senate has cut off any communication, but how are we to know if they're willing to end all this bloodshed and war and start a peace agreement? They trust you, and you're a Jedi. You have access to special worlds that I cannot venture, like Mandalore, where you could get a ship to take you to the Bonteri's on Onderon." Padmé pleaded with me. I thought about it again. It scared me to much to open the doors of my past again.
"If I do go, there would be no guarantee that they would even be open to discussing such a thing with me." I tried to express the flaw, but Padmé always had a counter. These dang politicians.
"Is it not worth the risk?" She said. "I myself was once good friends with them. But the Senate has made it illegal to have any contact with the Separatists. Otherwise I would go."
"Let me think about it." I sigged, understanding the importance of the situation, "But I did learn from a previous mission, that I'm not very good at lying." I said, standing up I glanced at Anakin as I remembered my brother in the mission that tested my abilities. I then was walking out the door, happy to get away from it.
Anakin ran after me. He caught up to me in the hallway.
"(Y/N), wait." He put his hand on my shoulder, and walked next to me. All I wanted to do was be happy to be reunited with him. But this whole situation has really clouded my ability to be excited.

"If you're here to push me into going through with this mission, you won't have any luck." I shrugged his hand off.
"I'm here as your loving husband," he whispers, "to tell you I don't want you to do it."
"Oh? So you disagree with the council?" I question. Not that it's unusual, Anakin and I have a tendency to do that. I just wanted to know his reason.
"Completely. It's too dangerous for you to go behind enemy lines like that on your own. There is no telling how the Bonteri's will react to your presence. It could be a trap if they accept to meet with you, and I hate to say it but you aren't ready for it." He says firmly.
"Master Windu seemed to think I was." I reminded him, crossing my arms.
"But as your husband, I say you shouldn't go." He crossed his arms. I looked around us in the hall, there were a couple of Senators scattered in their own conversations. No one was listening but I couldn't take any risks.
I looked beside us to a conference room. I pushed Anakin into it. The room was completely empty.
"Why are you so against this?" I asked, "And since when are you in control of what I am ready for or not?"
"I don't trust the Bonteri's." He says, "It won't be good for you to get reconnected with them. I told the council that when they asked me to try to convince you. I told them I couldn't, so they went to Padmé. I was just about to ask her not to say when you came in." He pouted. That's when I figured it out.
"Is this about Lux?" I narrowed my eyes as his face remained in a pout, "Anakin, I was 8! He was barely 7 at the time. They know I'm a Jedi and it's against the code. I wouldn't do that to you." I tried to get him to look at me. He sighed and let go of his arms.
"I know.." He said, "I know. I still think it's too dangerous for you to go. You don't know what these people are capable of. They're supporters of Dooku, they can't be trusted. This isn't a battle ground, you aren't strong enough yet."
"They're good people. As much as I hate the Separatists and especially Dooku, I know them they aren't horrible people. If I remember correctly I heard they still like the Jedi, even if they disagree about the Republic." I said. I was thinking to myself about how I could most likely do it. They had so much respect for my parents, that must carry over like it did with the officiant? My defiant mind automatically wanted to disagree with Anakin on this one.
"Don't give that look." He lifted my chin up, "(Y/N), you're not going."
"You're going to have to trust me on this one. I'm your wife, not your padawan and I can make decisions for myself. I think if we're going to end this war, we're going to need to talk to the ones on the other side. If they're willing to start peace negotiations we can end all this fighting." I said, I grabbed onto Anakin's belt, begging him to trust me. "I'm not a child, Anakin. I'm feeling like you underestimate me a little here. I go through the same things you do, where I've seen too many soldiers die out there. If there is any way to start peace talks I should take it. Don't try to tell me I'm not strong enough. You of all people know I've spent too long trying to prove that to everyone else, don't tell me I need to prove it to you, too.
"I do trust you, I just think this could bring you unneeded trouble." He says.
"This war is an unneeded trouble." I said sadly. He avoided eye contact with me.
"I'm going to tell the council I will take this mission." I said, "If it makes you feel better, I'll try to negotiate you come with me." I smile. Getting to work with Anakin again would be a dream.
"I don't think any of this will make me feel better about this." He rolled his eyes. I kissed his cheek then went to the door. But before I left he pulled me back by my arm into him. He surprised me by kissing my lips.
"I really am glad you're back." He whispered, "It's good timing we're back at the same time."
"Those droids didn't stand a chance." I smirked, looking at his eyes then back at his lips.
"Roger, Roger." He smiled. I laughed into his kiss.
"Is this your way of distracting me from going to tell the council I'm taking the mission?" I narrowed my eyes. His face became guilty.
"Well.." He playfully scratched his neck, I playfully slapped his arm.
"You can't distract me with kisses forever." I rolled my eyes, pushing away from him.
"Is that a challenge?" He asked, trying to pull me back. We got into a tug of war almost. I tried to go for the door but he kept pulling me back every time.
