《Living a Lie {Anakin Skywalker x Reader}》27

Last night, Anakin told me I was crazy and just dreaming. I just agreed with him and went back to bed.
Now, I walk in the halls of the estate. I take an elevator to a large penthouse. It opens to reveal my best friend with a wide smile across her face. "(Y/N)! It has been too long!" Padme takes me in for a hug. "How have things been lately?"
I lean out of the hug, slightly taken back by her surprise, "I am doing just fine. How are you?"
"Better than ever!" she exclaims. "Please, come inside!" I follow the senator into her large common room, taking a seat on the couch. "You have grown so much! And, no, no way! You're a Knight! That old braid of yours is gone."
"Yeah," I murmur, touching where my braid once was. "I haven't seen you since Geonosis."
Padme frowns, "I visited you when you were in a coma. They shooed me out, though. Anakin was with you the whole entire time. Well until he had to leave with Obi-Wan for a mission." I blush to that. Her eyebrow raises, and she smirks. "So, how is Anakin?"
I lose the redness from my cheeks as quickly as I can. "I think he's doing good. I guess." Hopefully that convinced her.
"You think?"
I shrug, "well I haven't really been able to spend any time with him."
Padme rolls her eyes, "I don't believe that."
"What?"
"I know how you feel about Anakin," she claims. "And I know how he feels about you. You two would make time, no matter what."
I throw my hands up, "oh not this again!"
"Fine, fine," she glares. "We don't have to talk about it." Gosh, she can be annoying sometimes.
"Thank you," I sigh.

Padmé and I talked for hours about just the past year. It was mainly about her, of course, but it was nice to catch up with an old friend.
I enter the training center, and spot Anakin with Von, showing him a technique. Next to them stands a tortuga.
"Who's that?" I mutter to myself.
Anakin must have felt my presence because he spins around, "(Y/N)! I was just showing Von here a little trick."

"Thank you for keeping him busy while I was with Senator Amidala," I thank him.
He shrugs, "we had fun." We stare into our eyes for a moment, until the tortuga clears her throat. "Oh," Anakin blushes. "This is Ahsoka Tano, my Padawan."
Ahsoka reaches out her hand and I shake it, "Skyguy here has told me plenty about you, miss (Y/L/N)." A devious smirk formed. Skyguy, huh? Already a nickname. Interesting.
I laugh, "I bet he has." Turning myself to Von, I greet him. "Hello, Von."
"Master," he stands tense.
"Why are you so nervous?" I inquire. "What did he do?" I ask as I turn back to Anakin.
Anakin grins, "besides almost blowing the building up, he's behaved himself." As I am about to scold Von, Anakin says more. "It wasn't necessarily his fault. We will talk about it later."
Ahsoka nudges Anakin. "And there will be a later," she says in a hushed voice. Probably not for me to hear, but oh I heard it.
"Ahsoka," Anakin scorns. "Enough."
The tortuga's face softens, "sorry, master." She certainly was bold, to say that to Anakin. How much did she know? Obviously she had to have some clue about Anakin and I's relationship. But only little of it, not all the details.
"So," I change the subject, "von and I could continue to keep training." A smirk creeps up on my face, "or, we could call it a day?"
Ahsoka shrugs, "well what would we do?" I wanted to tell Them to leave, so Anakin and I could run back to our rooms and have time to ourselves.
Von's face lights up, "we could go investigate around Coruscant!" I laugh, not really interested in doing that. It seems neither are Anakin or Ahsoka, because they both go "uhh."
"You could do that, but I was thinking something not related to our jobs," I suggest.
Just when Von is about to say something, Anakin's comlink goes off, as well as mine. I pick mine up, walking away from the group. Anakin does the same.
"Hello, Master Yoda," I greet as the green alien appears before me.
"Ah," he smiles, "hello, General (Y/L/N)." I loved hearing General. It made me feel important. Needed. As if I actually had a purpose. "Come forth the the Council Chambers, you must."

I nod my head, "yes, Master Yoda." Looking back to Von, I pause. "Would you like me to bring Von?" My gaze goes back to the hologram.
Yoda lingers on the question for a moment. He then decides. "Hm, yes, I suppose. He will be very much needed." I nod once more. The green alien smiles, "soon, shall I see you." Then, the hologram diffuses, and I no longer see Yoda, but the ground in front of me.
I walk back to the group, and I see Anakin approaching as well. "Von, the Council wants us," I inform my Padawan once I reach him.
Anakin hears what I said, "same with us Ahsoka." The two young Jedi look at each other and shrug. I spin on my heel, and walk to the direction of the Chambers.
Nothing is said on the way there. A few coughs or a clear of a throat here and there. I don't know why, but it was slightly awkward. I'm not sure if it had anything to do with Ahsoka, or if we were all thinking the same thing: what deadly mission is the Council going to send us on now?
We enter the Chambers. Mace Windu keeps a straight face, as always, but Yoda smiles warmly. I bow my head, "hello."
Yoda smiles, "hello." Mace kept his eye trained on Ahsoka. Why? I don't know, but I do know that she was becoming pretty uncomfortable. "A mission, we have for all of you."
"The 51st and 501st Legions are being sent to General Grevious's whereabouts," mace informs us sternly. "Obi-Wan and his troops will also be accompanying you."
Obi-Wan frowns, "the Chancellor has been kidnapped by the droid general..." Anakin shifts uncomfortably. I can tell he is about to lose it. The Master Jedi gulps, as if he knows what is to come, "...and Count Dooku."
"Dooku?!" Anakin shouts. "We have to get our troops going... Now! He is the most important figure in the Republic! If the Count does anything-"
"The Count will not touch Chancellor Palpatine, Anakin," Master Kenobi eases. He lets out a sigh, "we are leaving as soon as possible, alright?"
Anakin glares across the Council, "and that would be?"
"Undetermined... We are assuming by midday tomorrow," Windu chimes in.
Yoda taps his cane, "safe, the chancellor is. Not one to torture, Dooku is." Then, I think back to the memories of Obi-Wan, confined in the Jedi trap. He looked beat up, now thinking about it. But then again, that could of been the Geonosians. Or not.
Before Anakin can say more, I step in, "thank you, Master Yoda." The alien smiles once more, the side of his eyes wrinkling as he does.
"Inform you, when your departure will be, we will," Yoda says slowly.
"Yes, Master Yoda," I respond. "Thank you, once more." I let my waist bend, and go into a bow. everyone else does as I, and we bow to the Council. Turning around, I lead Anakin, Ahsoka, and Von out of the Chamber.
Anakin grunts in frustration. "If we don't leave now, the chancellor will be dead by morning." Just when I thought he'd grown up, he proves once again he still acts childish.
"Anakin he's fine," I tell him with slight annoyance in my voice. "You really need to learn how to trust the Councils judgement. They know what they are doing." I glance back, and Ahsoka is wide eyed, as if I just made a huge mistake.
"Excuse me?" He scorns. "Are you my master? Last I checked, I was a Jedi Knight, and you weren't the boss of me."
I grow frustrated, "I'm not your master, but the council highly outranks you." Suddenly, Anakin's face turns bright red.
"You know what? I need some time, away. From you," he stomps off in the other direction. I turn my body around. About to chase him, when Ahsoka stops me.
She offers a dry smile, "I've learned to let him have his time." She's learned? Aren't I his wife? We have been married for more than a year now. I know him better than anyone else. Who is she to act like she knows him so well?
I just let him go. Why did I let him go? As he turns the corner, my heart begins to ache. For reasons I don't know why, all I wanted to do was to curl into a ball and cry. "Fine," my voice cracks.
